-Chapter Two Hundred and Fifty-Five-
"Once we get Franky and our new ship, we're out of here" Luffy grinned, already growing excited at the prospect of a new crew member and our new ship.
"Hey, Sanji's not moving anymore" Chopper pointed out.
"Guess we'll just have to find a new cook" Zoro said, grabbing my hand and intertwining our fingers as we started walking.
"Don't be mean" I scolded, lightly hitting his arm which only caused him to roll his eyes and grumble a bit.
"What?! Just give me a minute, dammit!" Sanji snapped at the swordsman.
"Please, pirate lady! Can't you stay a little longer?" Chimney pleaded.
"Chimney, I'm sorry—thank you guys for everything" Nami smiled before we all started to make our way to Scrap Island.
"Big Bro!" Mozu called out the minute we arrived.
"We brought the Straw Hats!" Kiwi shouted.
"Big Bro, where are you?" they both asked when they didn't receive a response right away, the both of them now looking around in search of the cyborg.
"Looks like they're all tuckered out" I smiled upon seeing Iceburg and the rest of the Galley-La shipwrights passed out asleep. "Must have worked both day and night to get this ship done" I said.
"Oh! I see something big!" Luffy exclaimed the moment he spotted the covered-up ship up ahead.
"You think that's it?" Chopper curiously asked as he and the rubber man now ran towards the clothed ship.
"It's big enough to be a ship, so yeah, I think that's it" I nodded.
"Hey, Franky! We're ready for our ship now!" Luffy shouted, calling out for the shipwright as the rest of us followed behind him and the reindeer. "Oh! Hey, Icepop, what's up?" he asked the moment he spotted the mayor who seemed to have just woken up.
"Good to see you" Iceburg smiled in greeting.
"Yeah, you too, but where's Franky?" Luffy curiously asked as he continued to look around, frowning when he was unable to spot the cyborg anywhere.
"Unfortunately, Franky can't be here at the moment" Iceburg responded which caused me to raise an eyebrow. "But, this ship is indeed complete, shall we take a look?" he asked.
"Uh-huh!" Luffy eagerly nodded.
"I think you're going to be impressed, I was floored simply looking at the blueprints—this ship can sail any sea" Iceburg smiled. "It may take you to the end of the Grand Line after all" he said which caused the captain to start sparkling in utter excitement as he now began to bounce in place.
"Just let me see it already!" the rubber man impatiently demanded, practically jumping up and down.
"Hurry!" Chopper exclaimed as he too seemed to also impatiently jump around in excitement, unable to stand still due to his eagerness in wanting to see the ship.
"There's a message that Franky wanted me to pass onto you, Straw Hat" Iceburg said as he took hold of the cloth. "He said if you're going to be King of the Pirates someday, then your ship should be the King of Beasts!" he proclaimed as he tore the sheet away to reveal the most amazing ship that I have ever seen—a large ship that's design and color scheme was enough to just take my breath away as even I found myself with stars in my eyes the longer I looked at it.
"It's amazing!" Nami breathed out.
"You can say that!" Sanji agreed.
"I'll say, I'm digging the figurehead!" I laughed, smiling at the sight of the figurehead which just looked so cute and adorable in the same manner that Merry's figurehead had been.
"Oh, wow!" Chopper awed.
"How lovely" Robin smiled.
"Oh yeah" Zoro grinned, looking impressed with the ship's design and all.
"It's super big and super cool!" Luffy gaped with literal stars in his eyes. "It looks ready to break stuff!" he excitedly shouted.
"And it's really free?!" Chopper asked as he seemed to just sparkle.
"It's got to be twice as big as Merry" Zoro remarked.
"Wait—is the sail of sloop?! It's huge!" Nami gawked.
"Show me the kitchen! Hurry, I want to see!" Sanji eagerly smiled, excited to see his new work station.
"I love the figurehead—what kind of flower is it supposed to be?" Robin asked.
"It's a flower? I thought it was just a really happy sun!" I laughed.
"Well, actually, I think he intended it to be a lion" Iceburg corrected us.
"A lion? Hm, yeah, I can see it now that you pointed it out" I hummed after taking another look at the figurehead, now really taking notice of the lion's maw which helped in giving it the general shape of a lion's face.
"Wow! The inside is awesome too—and the deck has a lawn! It's so soft!" Luffy laughed the moment we all boarded the ship, already was he now beginning to roll around in the grass that covered the deck.
"Looks just like Zoro's hair" I giggled before squealing in surprise at the sudden and harsh pinch I received to my side.
"There's a slide!" Chopper brightly smiled as he went down it.
"It might be nice gardening up here" Robin hummed as she examined the deck of the ship.
"Gardening, huh? Didn't know you were into that sort of thing, Robin" I softly smiled, not too surprised by this sudden revelation.
"Good for a nap too" Zoro remarked as he looked around the deck and took notice in how spacious it was, any spot would be nice and cozy for him to just lay down and sleep if he so desired.
"Quick, where's the kitchen?" Sanji eagerly asked as he looked all around in search of the right door. "Oh! It's got a fridge with a lock—just like I always wanted!" he happily cheered once he located the kitchen and peered inside, seemingly becoming overjoyed at the thought that our food supplies would now be safe from our captain's gluttonous hunger.
"You sure that'll be enough to keep Luffy out?" I chuckled, having my doubts that one little lock was going to stop the rubber man from satisfying that outrageous hunger of his.
"And look at this oven—it's huge! You're the best, Franky, you've made all my dreams come true!" Sanji praised, that smile of his growing more and more the longer he looked around the kitchen and saw all that it had to offer.
"He did a wonderful job on the ship, it's absolutely breathtaking" I smiled as I looked around the ship once more, really admiring all the work that Franky and the other shipwrights had put into it.
"Hey, Iceburg! This is cool and all, but where did Franky go? We got to thank him for this!" Luffy called down to the mayor.
"I'm sorry, but it appears that he doesn't want to see you" Iceburg answered. "Straw Hat, you were going to invite Franky to be your shipwright, weren't you?" he asked.
"Yep, wouldn't have it any other way" Luffy grinned. "Besides, this is his ship after all, he has to come" he said.
"Wouldn't be fair if he didn't get to see her through her journey" I hummed in agreement.
"Exactly" Luffy nodded.
"Then, that might be your problem" Iceburg said.
"You mean he doesn't want to join?" Luffy questioned.
"Just the opposite rather, if you invited him, he wouldn't be able to refuse—that's why he's hiding right now" Iceburg revealed. "Well, what I'm saying is, he wants to join you in his heart" he said. "Of course, you could probably see that for yourself, looking at all the love and care he put into building this ship" he smiled.
"Whoa! Check it out, there's an aquarium in here too!" I heard Chopper gasp.
"Really? Neat!" I grinned at the revelation that we had an aquarium before leaning against the railing and peering down at our captain as he continued to speak with Iceburg.
"Do you have to lean so far out?" Zoro asked as my tippy toes now barely touched the deck of the ship while my stomach laid flat against the railing until I was practically balancing myself on the railing with only my grip on it to keep me from tumbling over.
"No, but it worries you, so that means I must do it" I cheekily smiled, chuckling when he grumbled as he suddenly placed a hand on my lower back and pushed me back down until my feet were once again on the deck.
"Wow! It's beautiful!" Nami praised as she continued to look around the ship and see all that it had to offer.
"And he's quite fond of your crew, so please don't blame yourself for this" Iceburg told Luffy. "Still, that's how he feels, so trying to reason with him would be a waste of time. If you really want him to go with you, then your only choice is to use force—since he's not willing to break that chain, you'll have to do it for him" he said.
"Use force...and after he was so nice to us? Well, I guess I could give it a shot" Luffy said which caused me to smile as I watched him run off to go and retrieve Franky—taking a few other crew members with him so that they could help in whatever he had planned on doing to get the shipwright to join. It wasn't too long before my head perked up the moment I heard Luffy and Chopper returning as the rubber man proudly held Franky's underwear high up like they were some prize to be won. Following close behind them was Franky himself who soon tripped over his own two feet and landed roughly on his head, legs now spread apart which allowed the whole world to see his family jewels.
"I really could have gone my whole life without seeing that!" I embarrassingly shouted, hands instantly flying up to cover my eyes as my face flushed.
"Franky's naked! Franky's naked!" Chimney chanted.
"Big Bro!" Kiwi and Mozu embarrassingly cried out as Kokoro laughed.
"Well, this certainly took an interesting turn" Iceburg remarked as Franky finally stood up.
"Franky, thanks, the ship is great" Luffy smiled. "Just like you said, it's the best—we'll take good care of it" he happily assured the man.
"Yeah, I had fun with you guys, have a safe trip" Franky said.
"Oh! I hate to break it to you, but if you want your undies back, then you're going to have to join my crew" Luffy cheekily grinned as I couldn't help but chuckle upon hearing this, just barely peeking through my fingers to see what was happening but also still avoiding being blinded once again. Quietly did we all stand there, listening to the townspeople as they shouted and snapped for the naked man to put some pants on.
"Give me back my briefs, Straw Hat" Franky finally broke the silence, demanding his underwear to be returned.
"Sure, join my crew" Luffy said.
"What? Are you stupid?" Franky frowned. "I'm not going to be a pirate—you know what, you can keep those briefs" he suddenly said which caused me to curiously move my hands down until they covered my mouth so that I could now see what he planned on doing. I instantly regretted that decision as I watched the man rush forward and strike a pose in front of the crashing waves. "Standing before the crashing waves, naked and proud—you wouldn't ask a lion to put on underwear, so why a man?" he poetically asked.
"I'm blind! I'm completely blind!" I embarrassingly cried out as I once again covered my eyes. "I'll never be able to see again!" I dramatically wailed.
"I was a fool! His determination is too great—he's a true man! A hero!" Luffy shouted.
"God! He's obviously just a pervert!" Nami and I snapped as we hit our captain.
"It might get a little rough, but shall I lend a hand?" Robin suddenly offered.
"Huh? Actually, Icepop's said before that if we want Franky to join, we're going have to use force to get our way" Luffy recalled as we all curiously looked at the woman.
"But what were you planning?" Nami curiously asked which caused the woman to only smile.
"I'm not liking that devious smile you have there, Robin" I said.
"Try Dos Fleur" Robin said as she closed her eyes and arms sprouted near Franky's…um…near his...um...privates. "Grab" I winced upon watching those hands tightly clutch the man's testicles with no remorse.
"Robin! What did you do?!" Nami gawked as Franky started to scream in pain and I couldn't blame him for that.
"Damn! Robin, I didn't think you could be that cruel!" I winced.
"Oh, man! Ow!" Luffy cried out as I shook my head and covered my face once more.
"You're going to crush them, Robin! Don't do it!" Chopper pleaded and I guess I could understand his and Luffy's violent reactions seeing how they themselves were men.
"She'll tear them off!" Mozu gaped.
"She's going to crush them to bits!" Kiwi gasped.
"Like little oranges!" the two cried out.
"They're called tangerines!" Franky wailed as he continued to howl in pain and slowly did I remove my hands once more as I watched how he fell to the ground and began to just roll around in pain.
"Robin, I still want him to be a man when he joins us! Lay off!" Luffy snapped.
"Just looking at it hurts!" Chopper cried, covering his eyes so that he wouldn't have to see such a torturous sight any longer.
"Everyone knows that pirates won't give up on treasure once they've set their sights on it, and now that we have this one in our palms—so to speak—I won't let go without a fight" Robin grinned.
"Come on...I already told you, I couldn't leave this island even if I wanted to..." Franky weakly said as he shakily reached a hand out as if silently begging the woman for mercy. "Sailing the seas would be great and all, but there's still a lot of stuff I have to take care of here—that's why I gave the ship to you, I quit being a shipwright a long time ago and I'm not going back" he admitted. "This is the last ship I'm building for the rest of my life, I only had one goal as a shipwright and now I fulfilled it, I made my ship of dreams" he said.
"That's a lie, Franky" Iceburg piped up. "You can say what you like, but I know the truth, this isn't the ship of dreams that you talked about before" he said as he made his way over towards the blue haired man.
"Yeah, well my dream is different now" Franky grounded out as he pushed himself to stand, refusing to look the man in the eyes.
"Your dream? That's not what this is about at all" Iceburg frowned. "You're not on this island because of something you have to accomplish, you're here because of guilt—ever since that day Tom was taken away by the government, you've blamed yourself for what happened, it's obvious" he said. "But even before Tom left this island, he had already forgiven you. He has shown you a new path, for years you've taken punks from the inner-city streets under your wing.
"You've taught them to be dismantlers, you've worked as bounty hunters, and you've protected this island from attacking pirates—all this to atone for your sins, to look after the city that Tom loved" he said. "That Tom was forced to leave behind, although I don't imagine most people saw it that way."
"No, of course not! Because that's not what I was doing—not at all!" Franky argued before crying out in pain once more.
"Keep that up, Robin, and he won't be able to produce any offspring" I muttered to the raven-haired woman.
"You loved shipbuilding and you gave it up, you suppressed your dream for years and years, are you going to do that for the rest of your life?" Iceburg asked. "Tom has already forgiven you, I've already forgiven you, nothing you do will change that—this has gone on long enough, it's time to forgive yourself, Franky" he said. "Live and follow the dream you've buried for so long" Franky looked about ready to cry upon hearing the man's words, but before he could say anything, something was shot at them and crashed between the two—knocking the cyborg back.
"What the heck?" Franky frowned as he looked at the object that had crashed between him and Iceburg. "A bag?" he questioned.
"It's luggage for your trip, Bro!" Zambai shouted.
"Move it! We're coming through!" a member of the Franky Family snapped as they all pushed their way through the crowd of townspeople.
"Big Bro!"
"We love you!"
"Not you too..." Franky muttered as he looked at the group.
"We're sorry!" they all apologized.
