-Chapter Two Hundred and Fifty-Seven-

"Yeah, he said throw the sails!" Luffy repeated.

"You sure about this, Franky?" Zoro asked. "Doesn't seem very smart to me" he frowned.

"I got this, don't ask questions—just do it!" Franky assured us. "Stop being an idiot and have some faith in your own ship" he grinned as Chopper, Usopp, and Luffy cheered.

"Usopp, just a second ago you were crying and now you're—nope, never mind, whatever" Nami sweat dropped.

"You just remembered who you were talking to, didn't you?" I chuckled.

"Yeah" she nodded.

"Why don't you shut up and help me!" Zoro snapped at the three that were cheering.

"Would you hurry it up? We can all agree that Zoro's stupid, but right now we got cannonballs flying at us" Sanji said as he kicked away another incoming cannonball.

"What does Zoro's stupidity have to do with any of this?" I tilted my head, smiling at the small "hey" that was snapped down towards the blond and I.

"Alright, Franky—I don't get it, but I furled all the sails, now do whatever you're going to do before the Navy blows us up" Zoro said.

"There's something you're forgetting—don't you know we can't leave until we give the ship a name?" Franky asked, not ready for us to leave just yet.

"A name? At a time like this?" Sanji frowned.

"Of course! This is our main voyage, so there's no point if we don't do it!" Franky grinned.

"Well, I guess" the blond shrugged, kicking another cannonball away. "Whatever it is, it's got to have lion in it, right?" he asked.

"Wait! I got it! I just thought of the perfect name—The Black Bear Polar Bear Lion Tiger!" Luffy widely smiled.

"Well, at least he didn't forget the lion part" I sweat dropped.

"That's a horrible name for a ship! No way!" Usopp snapped as he smacked Luffy.

"Then how about The Super Wolf Gorilla Bear?" Luffy suggested.

"Lion's not even in the title at all this time!" I exclaimed.

"Stop naming off animals! Can't you pick one and work from there?!" Usopp snapped as he once again smacked Luffy.

"The Squid Octopus Chimpanzee?" Luffy questioned.

"What happened to the lion?!" Usopp and I asked as the sharpshooter once again hit the rubber man.

"Well, I did have a lion in mind for the design, though the guys at Galley-La didn't seem to get that" Franky said before he relayed to us the name that Iceburg had suggested to him.

"Oh! I like it!" Luffy brightened.

"Me too! It's super cool!" Chopper agreed.

"Certainly rolls off the tongue smoothly" I smiled.

"I was thinking Dandelion Lion Dandy Unbearable Bear, but this is way better!" Luffy grinned.

"Just stop!" Usopp snapped, smacking Luffy once again.

"I kind of wanted Big Boss Lionel, but Thousand Sunny is pretty good too" Zoro said.

"I was going to suggest Creature of Darkness" Robin said.

"I was going for the Roaring Lion" I hummed.

"I like Monster Sunflower personally" Sanji said.

"Have all you lost your minds?!" Usopp snapped at the four of us.

"A ship to sail a thousand seas with a sunny smile, it's perfect, don't you think?" Robin smiled.

"Don't get too excited, you guys, that was just a warm-up—I've got a name that's going to knock your socks off" Franky grinned. "This ship will now be known as…" none of us seemed to really care for the name he wanted to share as we began to ignore him, already pleased with the name that Iceburg had suggested.

"I like Icepop's idea just fine, let's go with that one and get this ship sailing" Luffy said as Franky continued to talk in the background.

"That's good, the Thousand Sunny it is then" Sanji smiled.

"I agree!" Nami, Usopp, and I nodded.

"Nice to meet you, Sunny" Chopper happily greeted our new ship which just warmed my heart.

"I thought we'd have a harder time agreeing on this, but I guess it worked out fine" Zoro said as Franky now became dejected due to the fact that none of us had been listening to him when he had been bragging about the name he wanted to use for the ship.

"So it did" Robin nodded.

"Hey, Franky, stop pouting and get moving" Sanji said. "Use this secret weapon of yours so we can get out of here."

"Better make it fast too, the Navy is going to catch up any second" Zoro said.

"Best to leave now before we run into any more problems" I said.

"Yeah, yeah, I know" Franky grumbled as he dismissively waved a hand. "Take one last look at Water Seven because it's going to be out of sight before you know it—I'm warning you, once we start moving, we'll really be moving" he warned.

"Okay, I got it—one sec" Luffy nodded. "Grandpa! Oh, and if you're there, Coby and…uh…the other guy! It was nice to see you again!" he shouted towards the Navy ship.

"What are you yapping about, Luffy?" Garp frowned. "I got plenty more cannonballs!" he continued his assault as Luffy knocked back the cannonballs that were tossed at us.

"Give it up, I don't know what's going to happen, but we're going to get away!" Luffy called back to his grandfather. "Well, I hope to see you guys again someday!" he smiled.

"You little turd! You show your grandfather some respect, you hear me?! How dare you!" Garp snapped.

"Thanks for helping us name the ship, Icepop's—you're awesome! And thanks to everyone else too, bye Monster Granny! Bye Galley-La!" Luffy shouted as he waved goodbye towards everyone that was still on Scrap Island. "We had a great time!" his smile soon faded though when he looked back towards Garp. "What the heck is that thing?" he asked.

"That's a big cannonball...I didn't know they could make them that big" I whistled as I looked at the gigantic cannonball in Garp's hands.

"We can't dodge that!" Usopp fearfully cried. "We're all going to die! We're all going to die!" he screamed as both he and Chopper now frantically ran circles around the deck.

"Luffy, run away! He's serious this time!" Coby shouted.

"Franky, go!" Luffy ordered.

"We're all going to die!" Sanji, Chopper, and Usopp cried out as the cannonball was thrown towards us.

"Whoa!" I yelped as the ship suddenly shot forward—the force and sudden movement causing me to quickly grab hold of the railing in some attempt to keep myself steady.

"Awesome!" Chopper gaped as the ship seemed to just fly.

"I can't believe it! I never thought I'd feel this again...but here I am, Merry..." Usopp breathlessly breathed out as he stared in awe.

"It eats up three barrels of cola, but it can fly for a whole kilometer" Franky explained. "I'm not trying to brag here, but simply put, anything the Going Merry could do—this ship could do better, and it got tricks of its own" he grinned. "But even if it's all-new, I hope the brave spirit of the Merry can live on in the Sunny. If anything breaks, I'll fix it up as good as new—from weapons to furniture, I know this ship up and down!" he proudly stated. "It may be my masterpiece, but it's all yours now" he smiled as we finally landed back in the water.

-Fair Haven Island-

"Cloud! Cloud!" the blond perked up upon hearing his younger brother's shouts, silently did he watch how the brunet came stumbling into the restaurant as a silver haired man followed close behind. All the villagers that were seated inside the restaurant couldn't help but either curiously look at the two or huff in annoyance at the loudness of the brunet—some bitterly grumbling and others looking tempted to just snap at the teenager.

"What is it? Shouldn't you be working, you lazy bum?" Cloud asked, leaning the broom in his hand off to the side as he watched the two come to a skidded halt right in front of him. Sora sharply sucked in a large amount of air the moment he came to a stop, acting as if he had just ran across the whole island in an attempt to reach his older brother as quickly as he could...which he probably did if he had gone to retrieve Riku first.

"Wanted…posters..." Sora panted out, leaning forward with one hand on his knee as the other held out a stack of wanted posters and a newspaper. "Skylar…she…she…she finally got herself a bounty!" his head shot up, literal stars in his eyes as he stared up at the blond.

"Is that a good or a bad thing?" Cloud sweat dropped as he gently took the items from Sora's hand to look through them. "Wow, they all got bounties!" he whistled as he looked at the entire crew, impressed to see the hefty amount on each of the Straw Hats heads. "I didn't expect that, in fact, I didn't expect them to get so far..." he mumbled. He couldn't help but think back on the night before Luffy had asked Skylar to join his crew...he couldn't help but think back on the conversation he had with the raven-haired man as he casually planted it in the teenager's head that it would be great if he could invite Skylar to join his crew. Granted, he had been a bit surprised when Luffy had brightly told him that he already had plans to ask her, already had decided that he wanted her to join—it made him wonder what had happened between the rubber man and brunette during their time spent together that week for her to be able to leave such an imprint on the young man enough for him to want to willingly ask her to join.

What had they talked about? What had they done? He didn't know and a part of him didn't care to know as he had only been flooded with relief in knowing that he wasn't going to have to get on his hands and knees and beg some kid to take his sister away from this god-awful island. To beg some kid to take her and help her to see that there was more to life than just pain—there was only so much he could do as her older brother and he realized a long time ago that that wasn't much, she needed to leave and find her own way in life if she was ever going to find a piece of mind. She needed something more than just him and Sora and he accepted that.

Cloud stared down at Skylar's wanted poster, chuckling just a little at the surprised look she wore as a content smile pulled at his lips. He wondered, has her mood brightened since then? Has she finally become happy? That was the key reason why he had wanted Luffy to take her the night before the raven-haired man had asked her to join—the key reason why he was in support of her leaving and finding her own way in life even if deep down inside he would have loved for her to stay and never leave. But he knew she had to, this island made her depressed, it made her sit and dwell on memories that he feared would drive her to do something rash—to do something she could never take back.

He remembered how small that pirate crew had been when he first saw them and he had his doubts that they'd get very far when they told him they wanted to go to the Grand Line—but still, there was something inside of him that told him not to worry. That told him that she was in good hands the moment he saw how close she and the captain of the ship were getting during that week the crew spent on this island...when he saw how brightly her eyes would shine and how her smile was just a little bit wider whenever he'd catch the two talking or whenever he'd overhear her telling Sora about the raven-haired man and how he never seemed to just leave her alone. Even if her words may have sounded like she was annoyed by that fact, he could hear it in the tone of her voice, he could hear the warmth in the way she spoke about the captain of that group—it was in the same tone she used whenever she spoke of him or Sora or...or even of Mary.

"Sweetheart Skylar Strife, wanted "Only Alive," with a bounty of 25,000,000!" Sora excitedly squealed as he pointed at the words located on the bottom of the wanted poster.

"Only Alive?" Riku questioned as he tilted his head in confusion. Cloud had noticed it too, it was a glaring hint that the government was now aware of who she was—aware of just how important of a person she was. I wouldn't be that hard for anyone to connect the dots if they really just sat down and thought about it, she did look like a more feminine version of their father, that was something they all had to admit. Neither Sora nor Cloud answered Riku's confused looks as they exchanged knowing glances with one another.

"This is wonderful! She's still alive and she's still with the Straw Hats!" Sora happily cheered, clapping his hands as he ignored the looks of disgust some of the customers gave them upon hearing the news. Pirates were still pirates, there was no reason to celebrate that—even an island full of individuals that hated the government still had a dislike for pirates. Cloud smiled as he watched his younger brother happily chatter and proudly talk about Skylar to Riku before he turned his attention towards the newspaper in his hands, letting his eyes widen as he read about the events that had taken place at Enies Lobby.

"Well, I'll be damned" the blond breathed out before feeling his chest suddenly tighten with worry the longer he looked at the news article that was printed. Now that they've gotten this far, he started to wonder...was this truly for the best?

-Somewhere Else-

Varen quietly stared down at the latest wanted posters that had been released, his eyes moving down the list—moving from the straw hat wearing man all the way to the surprised looking brunette. Angrily was the dagger he casually spun around in his hand suddenly slammed down into the center of the wanted poster which caused the servant near his office door to flinch.

"S-Sir, is everything alright?" they asked, a nervous sweat building up upon their brow the moment they saw the dangerous glint in the man's eyes.

"All this time, her whereabouts have been hidden from me for eight years, and all of a sudden here she comes popping back up again—here she comes popping back up on a pirate ship of all places" Varen bitterly muttered.

"Y-yes, this must surely be f-frustrating" the servant hesitantly nodded. "Seeing how it will smudge the Strife family name" they soon shivered at the wide, crooked smile that spread across the brunet's face.

"Who says it will? Wouldn't be hard to pull some strings, weave a tale that she's been forced to join or even that this is just some silly little teenage rebellion, would it?" Varen asked as his gaze darkened. "Besides, she can always make up for it once she's safely returned home—surely intense training and studying will serve as a nice little punishment...or perhaps I can think of something better" he said.

"Something...something better, sir?" the servant nervously questioned, their heart now thundering away inside their chest in fear. If this man had not been above killing her as punishment all those years ago the last time his daughter acted up, then they couldn't help but fear what this punishment would be once he got his hands on her again.

"You are dismissed, thank you for bringing me these" was all Varen said as he shooed the servant away and removed the dagger from his daughter's wanted poster. As soon as he heard the small "very well" and the office doors click shut, he put all of his attention back on the other wanted posters. Silently naming off each one as he pressed the tip of the dagger to the visible necks of each Straw Hat, slowly dragging it across each one until he split the paper. "Do you consider them your friends?" he asked no one in particular, only casting a glance back towards Skylar's wanted poster before a twisted grin pulled at his lips. "Tell me, how badly do you care for them?"

-Back with Skylar-

"Alright, guys, are you ready?" Luffy asked.

"Yeah!" we nodded, all gathered around a table filled with plenty of food and drinks for the celebration that was being held.

"Everybody, raise your glass!" the captain ordered as we all followed in his lead of lifting our glasses up high. "For the return of our old friends Robin and Usopp, as well as our new crew member Franky, and the best ship ever—the Thousand Sunny! Let's hear it for our crew!" he grinned.

"Cheers!" we laughed with joy as we all clinked our glasses together.

"Let's go! Next step, Fishman Island!" Luffy cheered.

-Time Skip-

I quietly hummed as I listen to Zoro yawn, peering out the window occasionally from where the two of us were seated up in the crow's nest. Boredly did I find myself fiddling with the buttons of my red flannel shirt as my eyes slowly traveled all the way down past my jeans and towards the red and white shoes that were silently tapping against the floor. I couldn't help but huff though when I felt the beanie on my head suddenly sink down over my eyes, forcing me to fix it once more.

"Stay on, dammit" I muttered before yelping the minute I suddenly felt myself get snatched up from my seat and placed on top of Zoro's lap.

"You know, we're all alone up here" he purred, one arm now wrapped around my waist as the other snaked it's way up to the top button of my flannel shirt. Pressing his forehead against mine, I shivered at the hungry look in his eyes as his tongue snaked out and licked around his lips.

"R-really? I hadn't noticed" I nervously laughed, looking anywhere but him as another shiver racked up my spine upon feeling his warm breath on my neck as he seemed to pull me even closer—seems this was his solution to dealing with his own boredom of being up here on watch. "O-oh! Look, it's snowing!" I suddenly squealed the moment I looked out the window, desperately trying to get him to direct his attention elsewhere.

"It's snowing?" Zoro questioned as he curiously peered out the window before shrugging his shoulders. I yelped when I suddenly felt my back be pressed against the bench we were seated on as the swordsman changed our position and was now hovering his body over mine. Pressing his chest tightly against my own as his lips once again took their place near my neck. "As I was saying" he breathed out, lightly nipping at the flesh as his fingers were now starting to make quick work of undoing the first few buttons of my shirt. 'I'm dead, goodbye my sweet innocence!' I blushed as I tried to hide my face.

"Whoa! Look, guys, snow!" Luffy suddenly shouted from outside, distracting Zoro just enough for me to push him off and scrambling my way to the window. Peering out it as I attempted to calm my beating heart, I watched as our captain and Usopp rushed out onto the deck. I had to stop myself from verbally thanking them as Zoro irritably grumbled and began to look out the window as well. "Zoro, Skylar, what's wrong with you two? You're both terrible lookouts—if it starts snowing, you need to do this!" the rubber man huffed as he pointed towards Usopp. 'I don't know how you do it, but Luffy, you are the perfect cockblock I've ever seen' I widely smiled.

"Attention all hands! Attention all hands! It's snowing, I repeat, it's snowing!" the sharpshooter shouted, deepening his voice so it sounded like Zoro's.

"It sounds just like you!" I laughed, falling off the bench and onto the floor as I now held my stomach.

"Shut up!" Zoro snapped, cheeks flushed before he growled upon hearing Luffy and Usopp chant "Zoro the idiot" over and over. "You know there's something wrong with the world when a pair of nitwits like that can get away with calling me an idiot" he grumbled.

"Aw, you poor thing" I cooed, laughing as I rebuttoned my shirt and planted a kiss to his forehead—quick was I to evade his grabbing hands as I now made my way out of the crow's nest and down onto the deck, not in the mood to be molested any further.

"Look at that, it's been a long time" Chopper said as he looked at the snow. "It's beautiful, I hope it piles up high" he widely smiled.

"Oh yeah, your island was constantly covered in snow—this must bring back happy memories" I smiled as I gave the top of his head a gentle pat.

"I should probably prepare something warm for dinner" Sanji hummed as he looked around. It wasn't long before everyone was doing their own thing as I stayed seated out on the deck, watching as the snow gently fell around us and slowly began to pile up. Though the minute my nose started to feel icy to the touch was the minute when I decided to climb back up into the crow's nest—wanting to cuddle with the swordsman up there in an attempt to get warm.

"So, are you done being—and he's asleep" I deadpanned the minute I spotted the passed-out swordsman. Softly huffing, I smiled as I plopped down beside him and now began to peer out the window, going back to watching the snowfall. "Hm?" my head perked up when I suddenly spotted something in the distance. "Is that a ship?" I muttered.

"What?" Zoro suddenly woke up, looking around sleepily before peering out the window himself. "Hey, I see a ship—there's something strange about it too" he called down to the others.

"Are they trying to catch snow in bags?" I sweat dropped while peering down onto the deck and spotted Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper all holding out bags as if they were attempting to catch the snowflakes that fell.

"Really? Where is it?" Nami asked as Zoro and I came down onto the deck.

"Strange is right, as far as I can see, they don't have a sail or flag" Usopp said.

"Sounds familiar" I mumbled, raising an eyebrow as I remembered back to the rules of the Davy Back Fight.

"It doesn't have a sail? So it's just sitting there—drifting around?" Nami tilted her head.

"An abandon ship or maybe…" Sanji started to suggest as we all nervously looked at one another.
