-Chapter Two Hundred and Sixty-One-
"That was one of my older brothers, he said he captured two of the bounties" Lil answered. "This one and this one" she pointed at both Nami and Franky's wanted posters. "But forget about that, I want to play some more, come on" she impatiently pleaded, already wanting to get back to playing and not be bothered to talk about her family or the others.
"Right, of course, but wouldn't it be more fun if we played at your house?" Robin asked.
"That's right, you must have lots of toys we could all play with" I agreed, quick to catch onto what the raven-haired woman was trying to do.
"Huh? You actually want to go play at my house?" Lil questioned with the tilt of her head.
"Sure, will you take us there?" Robin asked.
"Yeah!" Lil happily nodded, agreeing to lead the way as we set sail. "Just a little further and we'll be home" she told us.
"So, as of right now, this person and this person are also heading to your house?" Robin inquired as she pointed at Franky and Nami's wanted posters.
"Yep! My brother, Hockera, should arrive there with them at any minute" Lil nodded.
-Later-
"It's good to see that you're all energetic" Robin remarked as we peered down at Nami, Usopp, Franky, Sanji, and Zoro who were currently being kept down in a hole that I assume was meant to serve as their prison.
"Tell me about it, what are you two idiots fighting about now?" I asked, looking at the swordsman and cook that were currently arguing with one another.
"Hey, Robin! Skylar!" Franky, Nami, and Usopp waved.
"Robin! Skylar!" Sanji cooed, hearts floating all around him the minute he spotted us.
"Moron" Zoro grumbled.
"What?!" the blond snapped.
"Robin! Skylar! Help us out here!" Usopp shouted.
"Yeah! We could use a hand!" Nami quickly nodded in agreement.
"As much as I don't want to admit it, you two should be down there with them, big sisters" Lil said as she childishly kicked her foot against the metal box she was sitting on. "But, I think, my new friends Robin and Skylar are special—that's why I'm going to ask Papa to save them" she brightly smiled. "Good thing too because Papa will do anything I say as long as I ask nicely" she told us.
"Oh?" Robin questioned.
"Is that so?" I asked with the tilt of my head, feeling a sort of warmth in my chest upon knowing that the little girl's father loved her dearly.
"So, are you two coming to the party with me?" Lil asked.
"What kind of party?" Robin curiously asked.
"For Papa—a gigantic birthday feast! Well, have you two said your goodbyes to everyone?" Lil asked as she motioned towards the hole, now beginning to look a little impatient and antsy as if she wanted to get back to playing with us.
"Robin! Skylar!" Nami shouted.
"No! Please, don't go!" Usopp begged as he, Nami, and Sanji started to shout over one another in an attempt to catch our attention. I found my gaze lingering on Zoro, the both of us maintaining eye contact before a gentle smile stretched across my lips which caused him to blush as he looked away.
"Right, shall we go then?" Robin asked as I finally pulled my attention away from Zoro.
"Yeah, wouldn't want to keep the party guests waiting" I nodded.
"You mean it?" Lil brightened upon hearing our responses as she happily grabbed both mine and Robin's hands and started to lead us away from the others. "Come on, follow me! Let's go, it's this way!" she eagerly exclaimed as Robin and I cast one last closed eye smile down to the group.
-Zoro's P.O.V-
"Wait! Why are you leaving us?!" Usopp shouted towards the two retreating women. Skylar's smile was always quite beautiful and I couldn't help the way my chest swelled with pride upon spotting the hickeys that decorated her neck, it made me happy knowing that they were still visible no matter how hard she tried to cover them up.
"Robin! Skylar! Come back!" Nami pleaded.
"Please! Don't abandon me, my loves!" Sanji whined.
"Who you calling your love?! Skylar's my woman—get that through your thick skull, dumbass!" I snapped.
"Your woman?! Skylar doesn't belong to you, you moss headed bastard!" Sanji snapped right back.
"And there they go again" Nami groaned as another fight broke about between the cook and me once again.
-Skylar's P.O.V-
'Why is it hot? Isn't it snowing outside?' I frowned, swiping at the sweat that was already starting to build up on my brow as I peered out one of the hallway windows that the three of us were passing by.
"The snow's melting" I couldn't help but mumble which caught Robin's attention.
"What's the matter?" Lil asked when she saw that the raven-haired woman and I had stopped following her.
"Does it seem hot in here to you?" Robin asked.
"Oh no!" Lil suddenly gasped as she quickly rushed towards one of the windows. "I was afraid of this, Papa's angry—let's leave for now! When Papa gets like this, it's better to just stay away from him" she hurriedly motioned for us to follow and I was about to follow along before stopping when I spotted Robin peeking into a nearby room.
"What is it?" I whispered to her while peering through the small crack as well, quick to spot the five people that were surrounding a couch that had a very large man laid out on it.
"I see" Robin nodded as she pulled away from the door.
"At this rate, everything around here is going to melt away!" Lil worriedly huffed. "Come on, let's go play in my room" she urged, already quickly starting to usher us down the hall so that we'd follow her.
"Say, would it be alright to bring those snacks and juice with us?" Robin suddenly asked as she pointed inside the room that we had just been peering inside of.
"They don't taste very good when they're hot, you know" Lil frowned.
"That shouldn't be a problem" I assured her.
"Thanks" Robin smiled. "But we don't mind, and besides, it's apart of another favor I'd like to ask of you" she admitted.
-Zoro's P.O.V-
"Alright, pirates, I got some provisions for you! Compliments from Miss Lil's new partners, Robin and Skylar" a man said as he opened the door to the roof and threw a bag down towards us that Sanji caught with ease.
"New partners?" I frowned.
"Robin and Skylar, huh?" Sanji questioned as he opened the bag. "My loves, you do still care for me!" he cooed which caused me to growl in irritation before quickly calming down when I spotted the three bottles of cola he pulled out. "Hey, Franky, we got some cola" he said as he tossed the bottles towards the cyborg.
"Sweet! We'll get it right this time for sure!" Franky grinned as the three colas were tossed towards him. "Here we go" he said after placing the drinks inside his stomach which gave him enough of a charge to blow the roof off with a huge amount of air. Quickly did he grab hold of us all and shoot himself right up out of the cell with equally the same amount of air he had used to blow the top off. "We got to make up for lost time, you guys! Now let's get that flag!"
"Yeah!" we nodded as we took off running.
-Skylar's P.O.V-
"Hey, you! Give me back my flag!" my ears perked up to the sound of Luffy shouting outside.
"That boy sure does have a set of lungs on him" I remarked with the shake of my head as Robin chuckled. "Seems he's finally caught up to us, I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing" I admitted.
"Hey! Give me back our flag!" Luffy shouted as Robin and I made our way through the large house before we eventually met up with the others.
"Robin! Skylar!" Nami exclaimed.
"Beautiful Robin! Darling Skylar!" Sanji cooed, hearts flying around him.
"There you are" Robin smiled.
"Hey, guys, glad to see you're all alright" I grinned.
"That cola delivery really helped us out, another brilliant idea as usual, my loves!" Sanji praised.
"What's the deal here? Seems like you two are the only one of us getting the royal treatment—don't you think that's a little strange?" Franky frowned as I only shrugged in response.
"I think the bigger issue is that Luffy's arrived and he doesn't seem very happy" Robin said.
"That's for sure, he sounds like he's ready to rip someone a new one" I nodded.
"They got a point, we're too late! It's over, we're doomed!" Usopp cried.
"No! There's still something left we can do!" Nami quickly assured us. "This is Luffy we're talking about, I'm sure we can just trick him" she said.
"Trick him?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, she's right!" Usopp quickly nodded
"I mean, he is a moron" Sanji said.
"Sure is, good call" Franky agreed.
"That's true" Robin nodded. "I'm not even sure how he discovered the flag was missing in the first place, it's a mystery, but the fact is he didn't really see it being stolen..." she grinned.
"Right" Nami nodded. "That's why we still have a chance to pull this off" she huffed.
"You guys really don't want to be scolded by him" I sweat dropped.
"We know exactly where our flag is, leave it to me and Skylar—we'll get it back" Robin assured them all as I nodded my head in agreement.
"That's awesome!" Usopp cheered.
"Robin! Skylar! You're the best!" Nami praised.
"It was stupid to think we could rely on that idiotic moss head" Sanji grumbled.
"Did that idiot get lost again?" I sweat dropped as I finally noticed that Zoro was absent.
"Yep" they all nodded which caused my sweat drop to grow bigger.
"Of course, he did..." I muttered.
"I'm counting on you, Robin! Skylar!" Nami cheered as Robin and I started to depart from the group, each of us throwing a small wave back at them before going off in search of our flag. It was silent as we walked up the stone steps, only to come to a stop at the top once we spotted Lil.
"Hello, Robin, Skylar" she softly greeted. "What are you doing? Are you playing hide and seek all by yourselves?" she asked.
"Actually, I was hoping we could catch a peek of your Papa's room" Robin said.
"If you wouldn't mind" I gently smiled at the young girl.
"Oh? I see, you both want to meet Papa—this path will take us right to Papa's room" Lil told us as she motioned us to follow her through an indoor garden. "It's not too far away, it's a really fun place too. You both like to look at pretty flowers too, don't you, Robin? Skylar?" she asked as I found my eyes wandering around the garden, gaze becoming slightly fuzzy at the memory of mother's old garden back home.
I wonder, did she still tend to it? Was it still her most prized possession? Was it still the only thing she loves and cherishes with that cold heart of hers?
"I do" Robin nodded.
"Yeah, occasionally" I nodded as well, hesitantly looking at the young girl.
"Thought so, my big sister Arbell used to love this place, we would take walks in here all the time...but then everything changed for the worst when she married that gross old loser" Lil frowned as realization hit me. I couldn't help the sad smile that placed itself on my lips as I looked at the young girl...she felt lonely due to her sister's sudden change in behavior, that's a feeling I knew all too well. "Hey, do you want to play that game again? The one where you hide the coin in one of your hands and I have to guess which one—please, come on" she seemed to plead, sounding almost desperate for us to agree.
"So, tell me, Lil" Robin said as she and I came to a stop. "Why did you tell us a lie? This garden may be pretty, but it isn't leading us to your father at all, is it? Am I wrong?" she asked.
"It's only fair, don't you think? Since you both told me a lie too" Lil shot back. "You said you would stay here and play with me, but you both are planning to leave with your friends, aren't you?!" she frowned. "Too bad because there's no way to escape this place! You both are going to stay here with me!" she angrily huffed.
"I'm sorry we lied but—what are you doing?" Robin gasped as my body immediately tensed up upon the feeling of vines wrapping themselves around both mine and Robin's bodies. I yelped the minute I was flipped upside down as I was picked up while Robin was left upright.
"If you both promise to remain my big sisters forever, then I promise to save you both from those plants" Lil said as she puffed her cheeks out a little. "Please, Robin, Skylar, give up" she practically begged as I started to feel myself getting lightheaded and woozy from the blood that was rushing to my head. "Please, say you'll stay with me and be my big sisters forever—promise you won't leave and I won't have to hurt you" it hurt hearing how sad and desperate she sounded in wanting us to promise that we'll stay with her, that we won't leave her.
"We can't do that, Lil" Robin said.
"We're sorry" I apologized.
"But why not?" Lil asked, even in my dizzy state I was quite aware of Sanji and Usopp entering the room, both silently sneaking their way in through the door.
"There you two are!" Sanji exclaimed the moment he spotted us.
"Robin! Skylar!" Usopp worriedly shouted.
"Your friends can't beat Papa, this is the only way" Lil sadly argued as the vines around mine and Robin's bodies started to tighten which caused me to groan in pain, my head now pounding as I felt the urge to vomit climb up my throat.
"Is that girl controlling those plants? I guess I'm going to have to teach that brat a lesson" Usopp huffed before being struck on top of the head by Sanji.
"Lay one finger on that girl and I'll make you regret it!" the blond threatened.
"It never ends with you, does it?" Usopp irritably grumbled as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Let go of my Robin and Skylar, you stupid plants!" Sanji snapped as he started destroying the plants around him.
"Yeah, let's show this shrub who's boss!" Usopp cheered which caused a small smile to pull at both mine and Robin's lips.
"Are your friends really that important to you two?" Lil quietly asked.
"Yes, they're here for us and our pride" Robin answered.
"They're good people, they could never leave us or our pride behind" I nodded.
"You mean the Straw Hat Pirates flag? It's strange, Papa always seemed so happy with his collection of pirate flags, but not me" Lil admitted. "I never really cared that much about them" she sadly murmured as her gaze became downcast.
"Right, to most people, a simple flag wouldn't be that important" Robin said.
"But for pirates like us, it is" I grinned.
"Even more important than our lives" we both told the young girl.
"There's no way we'd ever let it go" Robin smiled.
"If it means so much to you two, then I'll—" Lil was cut off the minute the whole building started to violently shake.
