-Chapter Two Hundred and Sixty-Seven-

"Even if we use the paddles, those waves are too high" Franky pointed out.

"Eh, no big worry, I'm still having fun" Luffy shrugged. "Waves will take us to the island sooner or later" he grinned.

"Luffy, that's not how that works" I sweat dropped.

"Yeah? What about Nami, huh? You forgot about her?! Sanji frowned, annoyed with how relaxed the captain was being.

"What is that?" Robin asked the moment she spied something not too far away from where the ship was heading.

"Is that a giant spider web?" Zoro questioned, causing my body to immediately tense up as I began to lowly whimper at the sight of the large web.

"At this rate, we're going to be trapped" Robin said as my body now began to violently shake when I saw just how close we were starting to get to the gigantic web.

"Hurry, use the paddles! Quick!" Franky ordered, already rushing towards the steering wheel in an attempt to change the ship's direction.

"It's too late, we're already caught" Robin said just as the ship became entangled in the web, now coming to a shaky halt as the silk from the web clung to it and held it in place. Just the mere thought of how big the spider was that spun this web was enough to now have me clinging to Zoro, tears pricking the corners of my eyes as I continued to whimper and whine which caused the swordsman raised an eyebrow.

"Dammit! Now what?" Franky frowned. "The ship didn't take any damage and it's not like we can sail anymore, and by the way, I'd hate to see the spider that spun this thing—it's fricken huge!" he huffed, ranting just a little as he took a moment to examine the thick cobwebs that were entangled around the ship

"What's wrong, Skylar? You're shaking an awful lot" Luffy noted with the tilt of his head.

"I hate spiders" I whimpered. "Big or small, doesn't matter, I just can't stand them" I shivered with the shake of my head, tightening my hold on the swordsman.

"Arachnophobia?" Robin questioned as I lowly whined and nodded. "Interesting" she hummed.

"Is that all? Come on, I won't let some tiny spider hurt you" Zoro softly chuckled as he wrapped his arms around me and pressed a small kiss to the top of my forehead which caused me to blush. My blush only seemed to darken the moment I heard Robin's chuckle as well as Sanji's irritated curses as the blond was restrained by multiple arms to prevent him from charging forward and picking a fight with the swordsman.

"Well, this is no good" Franky sighed. "Thanks to this giant spider web, we're dead in the water...um...no pun intended" he said, quick to make it clear that he wasn't trying to make a joke.

"Something's not right about this" Zoro noted as he gently rubbed his hand up and down my back which was enough to make my shivering come to a halt as I relaxed against his touch.

"It's not like we'd be leaving anyway, we have to find Nami...and the others too, I guess" Sanji said, just barely remembering that Usopp and Chopper were also missing alongside Nami. "Let's head out" he said as almost everyone piled off of the ship—me being the quickest in scampering my way off of it and putting distance between myself and the web that encased it.

"Hey, Zoro! Get your butt down here already!" Luffy shouted the moment he noticed that the swordsman was still up on the ship.

"Yeah, this is better than staying where the spiders are at!" I shivered, quickly nodding my head in agreement as I motioned for him to come down.

"Zoro, what are you mumbling about up there?! You're going to miss all the fun!" we both whined when he didn't automatically come down to join us but instead started to lowly grumble to himself.

"Are you seriously about to walk into a trap that's so damn obvious? One even a headless zombie would have the sense to run away from?" Zoro frowned.

"Well, technically a zombie wouldn't run or even be able to think considering that they lack brains and a headless zombie wouldn't be able to do anything because it'd be dead" I said, cheekily smiling the moment I saw the annoyed look on the swordsman's face at my correction.

"Pretty much, yeah" Luffy nodded. "It's not like we have anything better to do right now, it'll be fun—if you don't go then I'm taking your lunch box" he threatened.

"How cruel of you Luffy" I snickered before both the rubber man and I finally burst out into a fit of laughter.

"Son of a—fine! If I leave you two alone, I'll just have to rescue you later" Zoro grumbled. "Well, might as well just save myself the trouble and help you now" he huffed as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Alright, onward!" Luffy grinned as I grabbed Zoro's hand and intertwined our fingers together the minute the swordsman caught up with us.

"Sure took you long enough, moss head" Sanji said.

"Oh, shut up!" Zoro snapped, calming down just a little the moment he felt me give his hand a gentle squeeze.

"Why's there a sudden staircase leading down?" Sanji asked the moment we came across a stone staircase and began to descend down it due to it being the only logical path to take at the moment.

"That's a lot of bones" I whistled, lightly kicking at the bones that were scattered across the floor at the bottom of the steps—all of them chipped or cracked as they looked to have been picked clean of any meat that was once attached to them.

"It's the only way in, let's just go with the flow" Luffy grinned, not bothered at all by dead remains that surrounded our feet. "Hey, I wonder if these skeletons can poop too" he pondered aloud.

"No, I think they lost that ability years ago" I chuckled as I took note in how immobile all of the skeletons were, none of them moving or talking like Brook had.

"Yum!" Luffy drooled, eagerly licking his lips as he hungrily stared up at the three-headed dog that now blocked our path.

"Check it out, everyone, it's Cerberus" Sanji said. "We're literally on the path to Hell right now."

"Huh? I think it's kind of cute" Robin admitted.

"Agreed, it's so adorable" I cooed, sweetly smiling up at the beast that growled down at us. Despite how rugged-looking he appeared with his stitches and bandages, there was an odd charm to the large canine.

"Are they a threat? Because I'm feeling super!" Franky grinned.

"Three heads are overkill" Zoro remarked.

"Says the guy with three swords" I snorted as the swordsman threw a glare my way.

"I wonder what they taste like!" Luffy exclaimed before he started to loudly bark at the three-headed dog which caused him to suddenly start whimpering in fear of the rubber man like he was some vicious beast instead.

"Aw, Luffy, you're scaring them" I softly scolded.

"More like three-headed chicken" Zoro sweat dropped. "Weird how they got all riled up out of nowhere" he remarked when Cerberus suddenly started to bark back at the raven-haired man.

"There's something strange about that head on the right" I mumbled with the tilt of my head as I really stared at the dog with orange fur—the only canine in the group whose fur was a different color and whose head was shaped differently.

"Maybe one of the heads remembered they're supposed to be brave" Sanji suggested.

"That's possible" Robin agreed.

"Anyways" Zoro said as he got ready to draw one of his swords.

"Uh-uh, dibs—I'm going to take this bad boy" Luffy said with the shake of his head, holding his hand out to stop the swordsman before he even had a chance to attack.

"You idiot, you can't just tame it" Zoro frowned. "It's not a regular dog" he huffed as I continued to curiously examine the head on the right—it seemed strange, but it looked more like a fox's head then a dog's head, even its bark sounded different the longer I listened to it.

"How different can it be? Come on, who's a good boy?" Luffy smiled as he cooed out praise to the beast. "Shake" he instructed as he now held out his hand which in return caused each head to bite down on a part of his body.

"I assume we all saw this moment coming" Franky said as I sweat dropped.

"What big strong teeth you have" Luffy complimented as he patted one of the dog's heads. "Now, let go of Uncle Luffy's head" he instructed as the three slowly started to let him go and I don't know if they did that because they actually understood him or because they just didn't like the taste of him. "That's a good boy, easy does it, just like I said" the rubber man praised, pleased with the animal's obedience. "Now, sit!" he wasted no time in harshly striking all three heads which immediately knocked the beast out. "Roll over!" he continued to order the unconscious animal.

"Luffy! You didn't have to be that rough with him!" I scowled.

"That just happened" Sanji sweat dropped.

"The poor thing's body looks pretty beat up" Robin noted as I softly petted the dog from where I walked beside him—when he had finally woken back up, Luffy was the one to ride on his back while the rest of us walked. "I'm surprised it can still walk around like that."

"I wonder what wise-ass put this thing together because whoever it was, they can't tell the difference between a dog head and a fox head" Sanji grumbled.

"Oh? You noticed it too?" I asked as I petted the fox's head, smiling at the way the animal seemed to just lean into my touch and bask in the attention I was giving it.

"If this is the first creature we met on this island, I can't wait to see what other stuff we run into" Luffy excitedly grinned.

"Cerberus seems pretty down and out of it" Robin remarked.

"Well, Luffy did hit him pretty hard back there" I said.

"Come on, Robin, Skylar, don't pity him—it'll only make him feel worse" Zoro said as he tightened his hold on my hand. "Leave him alone already" he said and I didn't know if that order was being directed towards both Robin and me or just me considering I was the one petting and showering the beast in attention at the moment the longer I ran my fingers through his fur.

"Can you hear me, Nami sweet?" Sanji asked as he called out for the ginger haired woman. "Hello? Where are you my feisty truffle? Nami?" he continued to call out the moment he didn't receive a response.

"Feisty truffle? Zoro, why can't you come up with cute and weird nicknames for me?" I playfully huffed, looking to the swordsman beside me.

"W-what? What do you mean by that?!" he blushed, stumbling over his words as he attempted to find a response—to find an excuse or reason as to why he never gave me clever nicknames like Sanji did for Nami or like how I did with him. I could only laugh at his flustered state, finding it adorable how he seemed to just stumble over his words.

"Hey, wait up!" Franky shouted the moment he noticed that he was starting to fall behind.

"Okay, Nami! When I say sweetie, you say here!" Sanji shouted as we continued to walk. "Sweetie!" he called out, not receiving a response at all.

"I got a good sense of direction, but I can barely tell my strong right from my…" Franky said as I owlishly blinked.

"Excuse me, you mind repeating that?" I questioned, not really catching that last part.

"With so much fog everywhere, for all that we know, we might be going in circles" Robin pointed out.

"Hey, Nami! We would have had better luck if old moss head here had stayed on the boat!" Sanji shouted which caused me to snort at the implications of the blonde's words.

"How is this might fault?!" Zoro snapped just as we all came to a sudden halt upon spotting a tree pouring a drink for a unicorn. The odd thing was not the fact that it was a tree pouring a drink for a unicorn, but how the two looked—the tree had a human-like face while the unicorn itself seemed to be covered in stitches from head to toe.

"A tree with some geezer's face is totally getting drunk with a beat-up unicorn!" Luffy gaped. I couldn't help but sweat drop as I watched both him and Franky begin to chase after the tree and unicorn. One wanting to just catch them and the others making claims of a wish.

"Look what I caught" the two proudly grinned as they held up the tree and unicorn.

"Please, let me go!" the tree desperately begged as Luffy started to harshly shake it.

"Hey, Luffy, what do you want to do with these guys?" Zoro asked.

"Don't tell me" Sanji groaned as the realization hit him in exactly why our captain may have wanted to catch these two weirdos.

"They're so cool! How about you join my pirate crew?!" Luffy excitedly asked, his eyes sparkling.

"Overruled, dumbass!" Zoro and Sanji snapped.

-Later-

"For the last time, Luffy, the skeleton was bad enough—we don't need trees and unicorns on the crew" Sanji sighed as we continued to walk, our captain now loudly complaining about the rejection towards him wanting that tree and unicorn to join. "I mean, look, we already have a raccoon dog and a robot. That's messed up enough" he said.

"Chopper's a reindeer, Sanji, you know this" I corrected, frowning just a little at the blonde's mislabeling of the doctor.

"Hey, how many times do I got to tell you?! I'm not a robot, I'm a cyborg!" Franky clarified.

"Alright, whatever, you're not human" Sanji grumbled, not caring either way what the blue haired man identified as.

"In my heart, I'm a human, that's what matters!" Franky argued.

"In your heart, you're a pervert, pal" Sanji shot back.

"Oh? Then you understand after all" Franky grinned.

"No! That wasn't a compliment!" Sanji snapped as I laughed.

"What kind of monster are we going to see? I hope they join the crew and come along with me" Luffy excitedly grinned.

"At this rate, we'd be more of a freak show then a pirate crew" I chuckled.

"There's something I couldn't help but notice about that tree man and unicorn earlier" Robin suddenly said as I started to pet Cerberus once more the minute he started to whimper. Softly did I shush him, quietly trying to soothe and calm him.

"What's that?" Zoro asked as he gave my hand a slight squeeze.

"Just like our doggy friend here, all the creatures in this forest seemed to have heavy injuries, big stitches, and numbers written on them somewhere" Robin pointed out as she started to pet the dog as well.

"Numbers, huh?" Zoro questioned as he took a peek at the number that was stitched onto the torso of the fox head. "That's true, I didn't put much thought into itself, but are you saying these things are all working for someone?" he asked.

"Something like that, yes" Robin nodded as my head perked up upon suddenly hearing a childish voice repeating the word "negative" over and over.

"Hey, guys, do you hear those noises?" Luffy asked as we all came to a stop and looked around. "Look, it's that ghost!" he suddenly cried out as he pointed towards the ghost that had been on the ship earlier.

"Aw, it's still adorable!" I cooed, watching as the ghost split itself into two more ghosts until there were three of them—all of them still doing their little dance as they continued to chant the word "negative."

"It did a dance and split into three! That's awesome!" Luffy and I exclaimed as I couldn't help but squeal at how adorable the ghosts were.

"Kind of annoying how they keep saying "negative" over and over" Sanji frowned.

"I'm going to catch it and keep it as a pet!" Luffy shouted as he jumped up and swung the butterfly net down on one of the ghosts, only for it to phase right through.

"Explain to me what you thought was going to happen?" I sweat dropped as I watch Luffy continue to swing his butterfly net around in an attempt to catch one of the ghosts despite them being intangible.

"Looks like it really is a ghost, huh?" Franky questioned before breathing fire onto the ghosts. "Well, dammit, guess that didn't work" he frowned before one of the ghosts suddenly phased right through his body. "I totally suck, everything I did this week totally sucks, everything I've ever done totally sucks! I might as well just lie down and die—they should make me into a ceiling fan!" he suddenly cried, dropping to his hands and knees as he became depressed.

"So your attack didn't work, don't be a baby!" Sanji snapped.

"Odd, that was quite the sudden change in mood" I remarked with a raised eyebrow.

"Okay!" Luffy frowned as he threw down his butterfly net and dived straight towards one of the ghosts, only for it to phase right through him. "I want to die and be reincarnated as a clam, I can't cut it as a human, I'm useless! Just leave me here!" he wailed as he also dropped to his hands and knees, becoming depressed as well.

"Get over it already! What the hell is wrong with you?!" Sanji snapped.

"It would appear when the ghosts pass through someone's body, they become depressed" Robin theorized.

"Aw, but they're too cute to do something so mean" I cooed, continuing to gush over how cute the ghosts were. "But even if they are capable of doing that, I'd still hug them" I admitted.

"And how would that make any sense?" Sanji asked Robin.

"Ha! Those two are just straight-up pathetic, if they had even an ounce of proper discipline, they wouldn't let themselves fall to pieces over some measly little ghost barely even touching them" Zoro scoffed as one of the ghosts flew straight through his body. "I'm not even fit to be dog food" he depressingly muttered as he dropped to his hands and knees.

"What was that you were saying?" I sweat dropped.

"Okay, I get it!" Sanji snapped.
