Jane stood kneeling before her father king and mother queen in where else? "Jane..." the king clears his throat. "You are, now that you are twenty-four, you are now to be the first female knight of this kingdom..." Jane grinned brightly, literally. "...and one of the few female knights of the world." Jane looked, but not entirely, disappointed. "Guess he was a fool, all those years ago, again..." she muttered to herself, but loud enough for the royalty to hear her. "Not wholly, Jane. You are still the first female knight here." the queen told her. "Of course, but, what's so special about me being a female knight?" "Don't whine any more, Jane. You still wanted to be a knight, and you still have knight work to do for your kingdom." Jane smiled again. "Yes, of course. Besides getting into my armor, what work do I have to do?"
