Notes:
I decided to post this short oneshot for fun. It's actually the first thing I wrote when I created my
OC Millie. It's also what started the idea for The Hazbin Library. It can be read alone and I don't
consider this to be canon to my story. I hope you all enjoy it!
Millie carefully scanned every shelf, making sure that every single book was in its place. She
was a bit of a perfectionist, especially when it came to her books. Suddenly, the bell on the door
rang, signifying that a customer had just walked in. Millie turned slowly, her heart racing slightly
as she took in the newcomer's appearance.
"Oh, hello!" she greeted with a smile as the demon stepped inside.
"Hello my dear! " the demon replied, giving her a large grin that showed off his dangerously
pointy teeth. " Do you own this establishment?" he asked.
Millie noticed that the demon was wearing a well tailored red suit. He oozed charm and his
presence commanded attention. She started to feel slightly nervous as he continued wandering
the store.
" Y-yes, a-are you looking for something in particular?" she asked nervously.
Alastor gave her a brief glance, seeming to study her closely for a moment. "No," he replied. "I
was simply browsing."
Millie felt her cheeks warm up as she noticed the handsome demon looking at her. She quickly
tried to focus on her work again.
"We have a wide selection of books," she said, gesturing to the shelves around the store. "I'm
sure you'll find something that interests you."
Alastor continued to look around for a moment before he stopped in front of her and spoke.
"What is your name, my dear?"
"I'm... Millie," she replied shyly.
"Millie, hm?" Alastor replied, his tone of voice suddenly turning flirtatious.
Millie felt her cheeks flush even hotter, her heart racing as she tried to stay calm. She felt his
eyes taking her in, and it made her feel slightly exposed.
"You have a beautiful name, Millie." He said, slowly walking closer to her.
Millie felt her breath catching in her throat as he drew closer, her heart racing even faster. Her
mind was blanking, unable to think of anything to say. Her heart thudded in her chest as the
distance between them narrowed.
Alastor finally stopped in front of her, his hand reaching out to take one of hers. " The name's
Alastor. Pleasure to be meeting you! Quite the pleasure indeed." brushing his lips against the
back of her hand.
Millie could only stare at him in shock, unable to speak as she felt the touch of his lips on the
back of her hand. She felt his eyes studying her for a moment, the heat of his breath on her skin
making her heart skip a beat.
"You're blushing, how lovely my dear," he continued. She was sure that if she blushed any
harder, she'd pass out. Millie could practically feel herself steaming in her own clothes. She felt
warm...too warm. She needed to escape, just for a moment, to calm her racing heart and cool
herself down.
Alastor chuckled lightly, the sound deep and seductive as it sent shivers down Millie's spine.
Oh Lucifer, she needed to get out of there. She couldn't just leave the shop, she owned it! And
that would be pretty rude to the customer...the handsome customer, with the beautiful red eyes
and the really nice suit, and the fluffy ears that made her just want to...ugh.
" Haha, I can't help but wonder, do you blush that prettily for just anyone?," Alastor leaned in a
bit closer. He reached out and took a small lock of Millie's hair between his fingers and brought it
to his lips. " Or is this lovely shade of red just for me?" he asked, kissing the lock gently.
If she wasn't already dead, Millie was sure she would have died on the spot. She was surprised
she hadn't melted into a puddle. She wasn't used to being flirted with. People never flirted with
her, in life or in the afterlife.
"I'm... I... I..." Millie stammered, unable to form a coherent sentence. " PLEASE LET ME KNOW
IF YOU NEED ANYTHING!" she shouted and quickly scurried off to the back room of the store.
Alastor watched as the mousy little demon escaped through a doorway. He was enjoying
teasing her, the way she reacted to his teasing, the way her breath caught in her throat every
time he came closer. He decided to play with her just a little bit more, wanting to see just how
much he could push her before finally giving her what she deep down wanted.
" Oh Millie darling ~ it seems as though I require your assistance!"
Millie slowly peaked out from her hiding place in the back room. She knew she needed to go out
there and help Mr. Alastor. After all, he was a customer and this was her bookstore, it was her
job to assist him...even if he flustered her to no end.
Squaring her shoulders, Millie made her way over to Alastor, hoping she could fake the
confidence she wished she had. " What can I help you with, Mr. Alastor?" she asked, trying to
ignore what had happened a few moments ago.
" Ah, just Alastor, please. And it would seem that I'm having a doozy of a time finding something
that I would enjoy. What would you recommend?" Alastor asked, stepping even closer, his eyes
boring into hers.
Millie had been in Hell long enough to learn a little bit about Alastor, The Radio Demon, and his
love for blood and carnage. Taking a step back " I think I know just the book! It's a
murder/suspense novel that I recently read. I'll go and get it for you!" she said with her best
customer service smile.
Scurrying off, Millie made her way to the appropriate aisle and began looking for the book. She
finally found it... on the top shelf and her step stool nowhere in sight. "That's weird, I could've
sworn I left around here somewhere," Millie murmured to herself. She sighed and tried to reach
the book by standing on her toes.
She struggled for a moment before she felt a presence behind her.
" Here, let me help you. What kind of gentleman would I be if I watched a lady struggle?" Alastor
purred in her ear. The static from the radio filter on his voice made Millie shutter. He had silently
crept up behind her to reach the book on the high shelf, his front slightly pressing into Millie's
back.
Millie gasped, feeling completely caught off guard by Alastor's sudden closeness, her mind
blanking as her heart raced even faster. Her large mouse ears stood rigidly straight and her tail
swished behind her, careful not to touch the demon behind her. The air was electrified, the
tension between them thick. Turning around to face the radio demon, she was suddenly aware
of the heat of his breath on her skin, the way his eyes pierced into hers. She felt her breath
catch in her throat as he leaned in slightly, his face now only inches away from hers.
Millie felt her whole body tense up, her heart in her throat as Alastor took a step towards her,
crowding her...preventing any attempts of escape. She leaned against the bookshelf behind
her, and Alastor moved forward. She felt his chest press against her's and her body began to
tremble slightly. Alastor leaned down slightly to bring his face closer to the delectable little treat
in front of him.
The tension and desire between them was palpable, and it felt like the temperature rose several
degrees. Alastor's warm breath on her neck made her shudder involuntarily, her lips trembling.
The book was well and truly forgotten...
Alastor's hand had come to rest on her hip, his fingers digging slightly into her soft flesh. His
eyes were fixed on hers, his gaze piercing and intense. He enjoyed the way she felt pressed up
against him and took great delight in teasing her. Millie could feel the heat of his body, the way
his fingers dug just a fraction deeper into her hip as he leaned his body towards her even more.
"Are you afraid of me?" his hot breath tickling her neck as he spoke.
Millie nodded slightly, too nervous to speak as she stared at his intense gaze.
"Good girl," Alastor breathed, his voice deep and sultry as it sent a shiver down her spine.
He was so close, their faces only inches apart, their breath mingling as he leaned in closer to
her lips...
Millie jolted awake suddenly, her eyes blinking as she became aware of her surroundings. Her
heartbeat quickened as she remembered the steamy dream she just had.
The scene played through her mind once more, the heat of his touch on her skin, the sound of
his voice whispering softly in her ear. It had been so real, so vivid.
She rolled over in her bed and reached to turn off the antique radio that sat on her nightstand.
" Man, I really need to stop listening to his broadcasts before bed."
