Sickly Sweet

"You're joking," Bakugo said in disgust, hands placed firmly in his school outfit pants pockets, sporting an annoyed expression and a tempered death stare at his homeroom teacher.

"No, I'm not," Aizawa said dryly, not meeting his student's gaze as he looked over test papers that were handed into him before everyone, save Katsuki, went back to the dorms to prepare for tomorrow.

"You hafta be."

"No I don't."

"You're punking me and getting a sick kick out of it."

"I assure you if it was prank," he then turned the test page over before stamping a 'C' onto it; grammar is important kids, "A smile would be stretched across my face."

"When's the last time you've had one? World War 1?"

"Two instances actually: one was the Sengoku period," he said with a hint of sarcasm, "The second was when V/H/S' were still being sold."

"The hell is a-"

"Ask that question and your test gets a failing grade."

"Not as bad as THAT."

"Oh," Aizawa looked up at him for the first time quizzically, "So you're fine with getting a grade lower than Mina and Kaminari?"

"You fine with me reporting you to the Mouse Bear Dog Thing?"

"Depends how do you plan to phrase it to him?"

"Angrily."

"I'll take my chances," the teacher then returned to his papers, pulling up another test copy, "Besides, I think I could live with getting a lower grade than those two."

"You're full of it," Bakugo snapped.

"Alright you got me, I couldn't live with that."

"Aha," the blonde laughed with a smug smile.

"But I can deal with getting one lower than Midoriya."

"Piss," he was got, and with that verbal defeat setting in, he cut to the heart of the issue again, "Ugggghhh why do I have to do it instead of going on the trip?"

"First, language."

"Like you never had a potty mouth."

"Shut up or I'll make you clean toilets to," with the man in black's threat being intensified by the activation of his nullifier quirk, the explosion boy closed his mouth, "Right, now secondly your behavior as of late has been bothersome to me and everyone else."

"Examples?"

Aizawa's right eye twitched, not from the pain of battle at the USJ earlier in the school year, but from the flood of memories of getting report after report of Katsuki's unpleasant verbal shouting matches with Monama, destruction of school property (the non-robotic training kind), and various complaints from Recovery Girl about his, um, 'indelicate' interactions with Denki Kaminari and Hanata Sero for making jokes about his previous Best Jeanist hairstyle; or crime as Bakugo would put it.

"Eh forget it, I know what I did damn-"

"Hmmmmmmmmmm," Aizawa growled, his red eyes glowing brighter.

"Tch, I know what I did," he said as he altered his speech, "So what, just gotta play babysitter? Shouldn't the nurse be taking care of her?"

"She will be your consultant," Aizawa elaborated as he deactivated his erasure, "Anything serious or beyond your limited knowledge, you will consult her on."

"What if I get sick?"

"It isn't contagious."

"How do you know?"

"Had to verify before I stuck you with the duty of care."

"You planned this?"

"Happy accident."

"I bet."

The man in black let out an annoyed sigh, before setting the papers aside and fully dedicated himself to finishing up the rundown of Katsuki's responsibilities, and his smart ass sass, "Listen Bakugo, I get that you're upset, do I care? No, did you bring this on yourself? Absolutely and then some, and no matter how much you question me or throw a futile comeback my way it isn't going to lessen the burden that you're tasked with. If not this punishment for your actions, then a more severe one would be lined up for you, but know this: no matter what you try and say you're not going on the field trip to I-Island proper understand?"

Katsuki looked down at his feet, before averting his eyes and turning his head toward the classroom door, "Fine, whatever."

"I'll take that as a yes," Aizawa shifted back in his seat, "If you follow instruction and proceed with care, then I'll consider giving you an exclusive solo trip afterwards so you aren't left behind. Not because you slightly earned it, but you'd be a pain otherwise and I don't want to deal with it."

The boy almost spoke up as the fire rose in him, but bit his tongue knowing he would forfeit the possible reward, the flames died out, and he continued to listen.

"If you don't, then I'll place you on a month suspension."

"What!?"

"Yes, this is a sensitive matter and I don't want Uraraka to suffer worse than she is right now," he said candidly, his words almost cracking his voice as he was taken back to dark times before his teaching tenure. Uraraka was afflicted with a stomach condition, born of her pushing her quirk too hard during training, at first it was the normal amount of vomit she spewed, maybe two or three times every week. Then a week became days, and the bile was now containing worse elements than what food she ate that day, blame (unlike the sickness) spread around within the class for not seeing through the girl's deception until it was so severe she could barely leave her room.

This blame applied strongly to the man behind the desk, her homeroom teacher who was responsible for making sure she was safe and healthy. Many questioned his sanity after he told the other staff he would put Bakugo on the job of looking out for her, and despite expecting that, he didn't have the greatest opening in the world when he brought up that it would be the kid's punishment. However, there was another reason, and one that principal Nezu approved of and kept secret at Aizawa's request believing the results would speak for themselves more than he could. Although that was much more pleasant than punishment, he was a bit of a sadist hence why he only told the boy a day before they departed for I-Island.

"Am I clear on this," Shota asked.

"Crystal," Katsuki grumbled.

"Good, you wake up at seven sharp every day for the upcoming week."

"I already do that."

"Then you have no excuse, after that I permit you to sit in Uraraka's room with her while she is laying down. Anytime she needs you to exit, YOU. WILL. EXIT."

"I'm not the grapest," Bakugo's anger flared, surprising him for the first time, he would have chalked it up to Mineta's pervertedness but to this extent displayed a deeper anguish for his classmate's lack of class. If the others didn't get to him first usually, or if Deku wasn't separating their seats, he'd make sure Mineta would never act out again. He once again took a moment to quell himself, seeing this, Aizawa softened his approach.

"Apologies, I didn't mean to imply that you were."

"Don't sweat it," Bakugo mumbled, as he turned his head back to his teacher, looking him in the eye to better show his understanding, "What else?"

"You will see to her every request and need, save the ones that you cannot fulfill alone, in which case you would contact Recovery Girl or possibly Ms. Midnight. If neither are available or then you will reach out to All Might."

"He isn't going?"

"No," Aizawa replied before going back to the tests, "Normally, he would've due to his connections, but considering Midoriya has them now too after your previous visit, and Uraraka's condition he decided to hang back and make sure she makes a full recovery."

"Makes sense, hopefully he doesn't spit up blood if he needs to lift her to the infirmary."

"All the more reason why you're staying here."

"Planned for everything huh?"

"Just about it."

"Anything else?"

"No," he then raised his hand from the desk, and ushered him toward the classroom door, not needing to be told twice Bakugo lifted his book bag from the floor and walked away, "Hey, one more thing."

"What now?"

"Tell Ashido and Hagakure their lessons will be extra strenuous due to their grades, and alsoooo."

"Also what?"

"Eavesdropping," the man in black yelled, which was followed by a double 'eep' sound from the hallway close to the door and the sound of two pairs of shoes tapping against the floor in the opposite direction, playing Bakugo out as he rolled his eyes and finally made his way back to the dorms.

"And after that Kota told us about this small rabbit farm his grandpa runs, ribbit," Tsuyu recounted, sitting in a chair she pulled up next to her best friend's bed, still being dressed in her school uniform, wasting no time in going to check on her.

"Aw…he took care of…bunnies," Uraraka panted, her slow and deliberate breaths made the lime green blanket she was under rise up and down, sweat trickled down her forehead though you wouldn't be able to tell due to the wet wash cloth placed on her brow, an attempt to keep her at an even temperature, she was worn ragged and her eyelids were heavy, but even so she continued to speak, "That explains…the pet he has…in his room."

"Certainly," Iida said as he walked in with another wash cloth for her, beginning to replace it with the new one, "Turns out the rabbit was a gift from his grandfather, before Kota moved into his dorm. A way to remember him by since he can't visit as much anymore."

"That's so…sweet," Uraraka sighed happily as the cloth was placed down onto her head, smiling as much as her body would allow, "My parent's got me…a pink const-construction worker helmet."

"Mine got me a bracelet with a little lilypad," Asui said as she pulled back her sleeve, showing off a silver chain with embroidered green gems and a small metal lilypad hanging off it.

"Oh wow, that looks amazing Asui," Iida complimented as he adjusted his glasses to see better.

"Tsu."

"Ah I misspoke," Iida bowed in shame, "Please forgive me, it will not happen again," he declared.

"It's happened four-forget it, ribbit," Tsu giggled, "Did your family give you anything Iida?"

"Yes," Iida rose up, a hint of somberness in the slowness of his rise, "My brother, Tensei…gave me one of his old toys I used to play with when I was younger, a small blue and white race car."

"Oh," Tsu replied with concern, "That's really cool of him, sorry if I brought up a sore subject."

"You…okay, Iida," Ochaco asked as her face dropped.

"I'm fine, thank you for asking," he wiped a small tear from the corner of his eye, and without missing a beat, Iida went back to his usual demeanor as he placed the old wash cloth on Uraraka's table next to her fan, "What we should be asking is how you're feeling."

"I'm…about as good as you…expect."

"Are you sure you don't want us to stay behind," Asui frowned as she asked, placing a hand where Uraraka's was under the blanket, "I don't mind not going if you need me to stay and take care of you."

"No, I appreciate it but…you're fine, go have fun," Ochaco flashed a weak smile to try and reassure the pair, but knew the worry was shared with both of her friends who meekly returned their own grins, "Besides…Mister Aizawa told me All Might and uh…hehe someone else is going to take care of me."

"All Might taking care of you," Iida said in surprise.

"I'm sure Midoriya is gonna be jealous," Tsuyu quipped causing the sick girl to force out a laugh, which unfortunately came with its own guttural stinging consequences, "Sorry Ochaco, are you okay? Do you need me to get the bucket?"

"No…no," she let out a few deep breaths, before slowly relaxing her posture, "I'm okay…I just pushed it a bit there…heh…speaking of, where is Deku anyway?"

"He told me he's helping a few of the others pack," Iida answered, "He wanted to check on you first, but I told him I'd do it and he could come by later or maybe see you before we went off in the morning."

"Oh…well glad to hear he's…helping out when he can."

"Yes, although I will say he did seem particularly wistful at the prospect of helping everyone else first, but then his partner showed up and-oof," Iida's recounting was interrupted as Tsuyu poked him in the side, "Asu-Tsu what did you do that for."

"We don't need the full story Iida," Tsuyu explained with a quick diversion, having noticed Ochaco's mood starting to sour at the mention of Izuku's new relationship, "Besides I think we should let her rest right now."

"I concur, very well," Iida then started making his exit, "If there's anything else you need let me know, okay? I'm here for you if you need me."

"Thank you, Iida…I really appreciate it…if I don't see you again before the trip, I hope you have a good time."

"Keep that spirit alive alright, my brother always said 'healthy spirit, speedy recovery,' sleep well Uraraka," Iida gave a salute before walking out, "Coming Tsu?"

"In a sec, I need to ask her something really quick, ribbit."

"Hm, well alright, but don't take too long."

"I won't, could you shut the door?"

"Certainly," he nodded before closing the door behind him and leaving them in peace.

"Sorry for bringing up Midoriya."

"Why are…you?"

"Ochaco," Tsu said with a knowing look, Uraraka then dropped the act.

"It's not your fault."

"I wish I could agree, ribbit."

"Seriously, it's fine…it's my fault for not acting on my feelings…earlier."

"Don't take it that way."

"Hard not to, ya know."

"Do you want me to keep him out?"

"No, it's not his fault either…plus I'll have a whole week in bed to deal with what I'm feeling."

"You should just focus on feeling better, ribbit."

"I'll…I'll try, that's the best I can do."

"Then its good enough for me."

"Thank you Tsu."

"I'll call you while we're on the way."

"If I'm awake I'll try and call you back."

"You better, otherwise I wont let you come with me on my family visits anymore."

"What…nooooooooooooo your little sister called me Sissy Chaca," Uraraka cried in desperation, "I would literally die for herrrrrrrrrrrrrr."

"Then stop sulking and start healing," Tsu said as she got up, "Promise?"

"Promise," she said as she wiped a tear from her eye, before moving her hand back down, "Hey, Tsu?"

"Hm?"

"Goodbye hug," Uraraka asked as she spread her arms under the blanket, two round spheres shooting up from her bed where they would be, Tsuyu smiled warmly before gently bending down and embracing her friend.

"Goodbye hug," Asui whispered, they held the hug for a minute or so before the frog girl rose back up and put her hand on the door knob, "Take care-"

*KNOCK* KNOCK* *KNOCK*

"Huh," Tsu said confused.

"Who could…that be?"

"Dunno, ribbit," Tsu then turned the handle and began to open the door, "Maybe its Midori-oh…oh," she said both surprised and disappointed.

"The hell you mean 'oh,' why'd you say it like that," Bakugo replied in annoyance.

"It's because you tend to rile things up, not settle them down, ribbit," Tsu clarified, "So why are you visiting Ochaco?"

"B-Because," he gritted his teeth, Aizawa's threat ringing in his head making him lower his voice; killing his protest to her comment, "Because I gotta check in on Pink Cheeks every hour."

"What, why would…"

…It soon clicked.

"Nooooooooooooooooo," Tsu shook her head at the notion, "Nooooooooo you're kidding."

"I'm not."

"You're punking me and it's a sick joke."

"If I were punking you I'd have a smil-no screw this, we aren't doing this back and forth in the story again," Bakugo growled as he continued to stand in the doorway, "I'm taking care of her with All Might and the rest of the staff, all while you jerks get to go to the island."

"I..uh…uh," Tsuyu dropped her hand from the door handle, and stood in complete awe of what she had been just told by her most reckless classmate, "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh."

"You gonna stand there with your mouth open wide, or are you going to let me through?"

Tsu then quickly shut the door in his face, and turned to Uraraka who was now doing her best to try and avoid eye contact with her, clueing Asui into the fact that Ochaco had already known about this, "You can't be serious."

"…Hehehe…surprise?"

"Explain please."

"So Bakugo is-"

"Going to be looking after her like I said," Katsuki said as he opened the door, "Before you shut the door in my face anyway."

"Sero is still having trouble with his cast, and Kaminari is eating through a straw, ribbit," Tsu looked at him seriously.

"Yeah, your point?"

"And I'm just supposed to trust you to take care of a sick person?"

"You're right Toad-Girl."

"Tsu."

"Gazoontite."

"I didn't sneeze."

"Yeah sure, anyway I don't like this as much as you, yet here we are and I got about a week's worth of goody-two shoes behavior I need to learn to dish out unless I wanna get something worse dulled out at me. If you don't trust me, trust Aizawa's sick enjoyment of my suffering alright?"

She couldn't argue with that, she wanted to keep fighting him on it and argue until Aizawa was forced to change his mind, or even allow her to stay and make sure he behaved better. However, nothing came from her, no words, no defiant actions, just a resigned albeit painful look; as he said she could trust Aizawa would make him pay if he were to be a pest while looking after her. Besides, he was rude, loud, and obnoxious but he wasn't an awful person, just an inconsiderate one.

Tsu was going to give out a warning, but someone else decided to speak up.

"It's okay…Tsu," Uraraka breathed out softly, "You don't have to worry about me."

"But Ochaco."

"I," Uraraka gulped, and took in another breath long and slow, steadying herself as she raised up from her bed holding her stomach with her mittened right hand, the blanket falling away revealing her heavily wrinkled black tank top. Her hair was also messy, curls stuck up in various places on her normally well-kempt hair, and even though she looked like she was going to fall back down at any moment, you could barely tell with how blissful she looked in the face of it, the warm afternoon glow peering in from the curtains. Tsu came back into the room, wanting to be there to ease her back down, Bakugo then used this chance to finally enter and get his check-up over with, taking in the state of his classmate.

Summoning the last of her strength, Uraraka smiled and finished her thought, "I…I trust him."

Neither Asui nor Bakugo knew what to say next, the silence took the room as quickly as Uraraka had done when she had declared her confidence in him. Thankfully for them, her body gave out and she started falling back on her bed with a loud plop, "S-Sorry, I pushed it a little back there."

"Ob-…obviously," Bakugo said as he picked up the fallen cloth from her bed, as Tsuyu pulled the blanket over her again.

"Okay, if you say you trust him, then so will I," Tsuyu replied, a glint in her eye showing understanding of Ochaco's wishes, which she caught before she closed her eyes to relax.

"Jeez I ain't gonna kill her, you guys don't think I can handle this crap?"

"Impeccable bed-side manner," Tsuyu quipped, about to start regretting her decision to trust him.

"I'm talking to you, not Sick Cheeks over here," he said as he gently placed the rag back on her head, folding as he did so, "Don't you gotta pack?"

"Yes, only a few things though, ribbit."

"Then go ahead and wrap it up, Ill watch after until then."

"But you don't…need to start until tomorrow," Uraraka said as she shuffled to get comfortable.

"I figured I'd catch hell if everyone found out today, and I didn't check on you at least once," he said, not so subtly looking over at his frog classmate, who wore a guilty expression being unable to deny his assessment, "So, just keep trying to relax so this goes by faster for the both of us."

"Right…gotcha," Uraraka weakly replied, finally hitting the sweet spot on her pillow, her body melting into the softness.

"Heh, this'll be easier than I thought," Bakugo sat down in the chair Tsu previously occupied, flashing his iconic smug grin.

"You just put a rag on her head," Tsu replied deflating a bit of his ego.

"That's what most of it is, get a rag, get em soup, check the temp, let her ramble on and on until she tuckers herself out and falls back asleep. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, my old hag made me help her when she was feeling crappy all the time, this is nothing."

"I don't think Ochaco is exactly built the same as your mother."

"She's tougher that's for sure," Katsuki said, taking his classmates off guard, the healthier of the two stared at him for a second, while the other's face had started to flush a more vibrant pink than what she was used to, "Hag always fell apart when she was sick, acted like she was dying."

"I don't think you should talk about your mother that way," Tsu protested, but came to a realization that given Katsuki's less than conventional behavior, that it likely meant that's how the Bakugo family expressed love and affection, so she let it be.

"Go pack and quit arguing with me already," he grumbled as he crossed his arms, then pushed the front legs of the chair off the ground by propping up his left leg on the bed and leaned back; finally letting himself relax as he closed his eyes.

"Fine, I'll be back later," Tsu replied, making her way out the room, "Don't let her get up by herself, or-"

"Upset her, move her bed, feed her solid foods, or make her do anything by herself or she'll blow chunks all over the place, I get itttttttttttt!"

"Huh, you might actually be good at this after all."

"Told ya, now scram."

She did just that, rolling her eyes at his rudeness before stepping out into the hall, "Rest easy Ochaco."

"…Sure…thing Tsu," she said sleepily, Tsu forced a smile, took another look at Bakugo, and left for her room, leaving Katsuki and Ochaco alone.

30 Minutes Later…

"Erk…aggggggh," the shooting pain had awoken Uraraka from her sound slumber, her moving from her side onto her belly, gripping it tightly.

"Cramps," Bakugo asked, keeping his eyes closed even though he wasn't really asleep.

"Y-Yeah," she squeaked, barely able to raise her voice above a whisper.

"Here," he said as he took a medicine bottle from her table, handing it to her so she could numb the pain, "Do you know how much you were told to drink?"

"Thirty…milliliters."

"You drink it straight or use the cup?"

"Cup."

"Damn, of course you use the cup," Bakugo grimaced as he took the bottle back from her, turning around to try and find the clear plastic cup somewhere on the table, taking a few seconds of rummaging around and moving pill bottles and after what felt like an eternity, he was able to locate it behind the rag Iida had replaced earlier. He internally rejoiced at his victory, then poured the correct amount into the cup and held it out to her, "Here, take it."

"I can't."

"The hell you mean you can't, I poured it in the cup."

"I'll spill it on face when I try to drink it," she said with an embarrassed confidence, as if it had happened before.

"Then raise your…tck, you need me to hold it don't you?"

"M-…Mhm," she blushed at her own helplessness.

"Fine, just open your damn mouth and be ready."

"O-O-Okay, go ahead."

He got up and leaned over her, the two quickly making eye contact as he lowered himself down, something about how she looked made Bakugo start changing his initial plan of action. At first,, he was just going to pour it down quick and easy, but with how she appeared to him now being in as much pain as she was, it made him think and in his mind realized he'd have to be kinder than he usually was whenever he was helping with his mother, so he gave her a nod and she gave him one to, before he lowered the tip of the cup to her lips and slowly poured the liquid until the cup was empty.

Bakugo then sat back down, and used the old rag to clean the remaining liquid in the cup do it could be re-used, a smile tugged at Uraraka's lips, "Thank you."

"Don't mention it," he said as he placed the cup and rag back on the table, and returned to his old sitting position.

"You said you did this…for your mom?"

"Yeah, back when I lived at home whenever she got sick or something."

"Didn't you…have school?"

"Sometimes, depends on if I was suspended or not."

"You…suspended? I couldn't…imagine."

"What's that-!? …Tck, you're lucky you're sick."

"Sorry, I just…wanted to take my mind off things for a minute or two."

"You can do that without taking shots at me."

"So can you…apparently."

"I'm not a damned barbarian."

"You…like making people think that though."

"What did I just say about jabs."

"I meant…you like making people think…you're really tough."

"Oh, well hell yeah I like making people think that."

"Hehehehehehehe."

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing…just how you said it is…all."

"You know for a sick girl you're pretty chatty."

"Better than just laying here…rolling around in pain."

"Keep pushing yourself to talk and it's only gonna get worse."

"That's what the medicine is for," she smiled at him again, before a gurgling sound from her stomach erupted from under the covers.

"You were saying," he snarkily replied, which caused her to lift the blankets over her face and reforming blush.

"Sh-Shut up."

"Hey you said it."

"I know just…mmmmmmmm."

"You good?"

"N-N-No."

"Need something else?"

"No I don't think so," she looked away from him, too bashful over the sound her body made to continue pushing a subject.

"I don't care ya know."

"Hm?"

"I don't care whatever stupid sound you make, I've been sick before and it'd be dumb if I suddenly started judging you for it."

"Really?"

"Considering I'm in charge of you the next few days, I'd say noises are the least of my worries."

"…I'm sorry," she squeaked, turning back to face him

"For?"

"It's already bad that you have to stay here with me instead of going with everyone else… but it's even worse since you have to take care of me, instead of enjoying your free time training or…uh…what else do you do…anyway?"

"Eh?"

"What do you do…like for hobbies?"

"I mountain climb."

"You what…that's so cool!"

"It's nothing special."

"Yes it is…without my quirk I'd have been too scared…to climb mountains."

"I don't use my quirk when I do it."

"Y-You don't?"

"No, it's boring that way, I'd get to the top with no real effort other than just setting off a big boom and launching upwards."

"Oh…well…when you put it…like that I get it."

"You should try it whenever you're feeling better."

"You think I could?"

"I wouldn't have called you tough if I didn't think so," Bakugo replied, unknowingly making her blush a second time today with the same compliment, "You wouldn't have the same butter fingers as Sparky or Pinky."

"I'm…literally wearing mittens."

"You also threw a bolder in the air on Nabu Island, so I don't wanna hear your excuses."

"I…I guess you're right."

"Always am."

"Okay, I never said that."

"You implied it."

"Did not."

"Yes you did."

"Ugh…what have I…done, I've inflated the 'super ego' as Ashido calls it."

"Confidence is more like it."

"I don't think that will catch on…as well."

"You know I could just leave since Froggy is on the same floor as us."

"I mean…you could…"

"Do you want me to?"

"N-No."

"Figured."

"If…you have something better you want to do, then you can go on…I won't tell anyone that you just…up and left me or anything like that."

"I doubt any of them would believe it."

"Why do you say that?"

"Cuz when I told them I had to take care of you, a few of them laughed and the others glared at me like I shot a senator."

"Oh…well I understand why that's really jarring for them to…take in."

"Grrrrrrrrrrr."

"I meant…you don't really come off as the caring type…at least not until recently with the 1B match."

"Shows what you all know then huh?"

"I had faith before that though."

"Excuse me?"

"I had faith in you, I knew you would end pulling through….and showing what you're really capable of…and how caring you can be."

Bakugo just stared on at her, a mixture of pride and self-deprecation over his actions and past welled up inside him as her words struck at his core the tiniest bit, and while he couldn't admit it, he felt a little warmth encapsulate him. He lowered the front of the chair back down, took his foot off the bed frame but continued to lean back, "Like I told all of you, I'm going to be the number one hero one day, and if getting there means I gotta change then that's all there is to it."

"I know…I know…and I'm sure you'll get there someday."

"Damn straight."

*BA DUM*

'Eh,' Bakugo questioned as he felt a slight tremor in his chest, 'Weird, guess it was those chili peppers I ate or something.'

"Hehehe…hey um, what time do you have to be up…tomorrow?"

"Eraser told me seven a.m."

"That's a little too early…I don't think I'll be up at seven…so you can sleep in if you want."

"I'll already be up so it's nothing."

"Will you…let me sleep in a bit if I…don't wake up."

"No skin off my teeth."

"Thank you, my sleep schedule is going to be pretty messed up anyway…so whatever little sleep I can get I'll take."

"Good, makes my job even easier."

"Sorry for being a pain."

"Just rest already, before the pain kicks back in."

'It…has been a little while hasn't it,' she internally realized, feeling nothing else rumbling inside her stomach, 'I must've forgot about it, huh.'

"It's starting to get late," Katsuki said as he stood up from the chair and started to stretch out, catching a glimpse of the gap in the curtain and seeing a fading orange light spill out onto the floor, "I'm gonna go get Froggy and tell her you're gonna go to sleep."

"…Okay."

"…What?"

"Nothing."

"God, you're as bad as Deku, just spill it already."

"Really it's nothing."

"Say it, I'm not gonna yell."

"…Thank you."

"For what?"

"Today, I know you didn't need to do it until tomorrow but it was really nice talking to you, you and me don't really get to do that all that often and, truth be told, I'm glad our first day started off so well," she smiled at him with weary eyes, "Glad to know my faith wasn't misplaced."

Katsuki looked down at her, and felt that strange warmth again, before he put both his hands in his pockets again, and walked away, but stopping right at the doorway before turning back, "You better, because you got five more days of it coming up."

With that he shut the door, and he was gone.

"Looking…forward to it."

*BA DUM*

'…Oh boy,' Uraraka's expression changed from peaceful contentment, to shock and surprise as her heart had started to beat a familiar tune.

"Hey," Bakugo shouted to the end of the hall, "Froggy!"

"Yeah," Tsuyu responded as she poked her head out of her door.

"Shift change, I need to get some dinner and Pink Cheek's is trying to sleep."

"Alright I'll check on her in a minute, thanks Bakugo."

"Don't mention it Froggy," he said as headed toward the elevator.

"It's Tsu."

"Gazoontite."

"I didn't sneeze!"

"Yeah sure," he remarked as he pressed to button to go to the bottom floor, a short time later he eventually got in and was met with his longtime confidant Ejiro Kirishima dressed in his casual clothes.

"Sup Baku-Bro."

"Hey," he said as he entered and hit the button to go down.

"So how was your first day being a nurse? Killed your first patient yet?"

"No but the nights still young and you can take their place," he grunted as he forms a mini blast in his hand.

"I'll take a rain check on that," Ejiro said as the doors closed.

"Yeah that's what I thought."

"In all seriousness, is she doing okay?"

"She was pretty chatty with me, so whatever's wrong with her will probably pass before the weeks up if she's lucky."

"…Hold on run that back."

"She'll be better before the weeks up."

"No not that."

"Whatever's wrong with her?"

"No you walking nuke, she was talking to you?"

"Yeah? Why is that important?"

"Dude, she's barely said anything save maybe two sentences the past couple days."

"You can barely tell, with the way she was talking to me."

"The hell are smiling about," Bakugo asked as he looked over at his friend, Kirishima shot him a smug grin similar to his own with one of his eyebrows cocked upward, "Talk Kirishima!"

"Oh nothing…"

"Then stop looking at me like that."

"Fine. Fine."

"One thing though," Red Riot said as he raised a hand.

"What is with everyone and avoiding telling me things?"

"Don't worry I won't hesitate."

"Good, now say it."

"So…when's the wedding?"

"…"

"Because I had this whole tux worked out for it, got the best man speech tucked back into my wallet, and I made sure to get a plus one lined up before you send out invites to-"

"IM GOING TO KILL YOU RIGHT NOW IF YOU DON'T SHUT YOUR SHARK TOOTHED SMUG SMIRKING CONDESCENDING SHIT SPEWING FAT MOUTH!"

"Do you really think my mouth is fat?"

"…No it's average."

"Aw thanks man."

"Don't mention it."

"The mouth thing or the wedding?"

*DING*

"Ten."

"Head start huh?"

"Only cuz I'm tired, nine."

"Cool, um Imma head out to the main gates and try and hop the fence the way that I usually do."

"Eight, seven, six, five," Bakugo screeched as he rapid fired the numbers.

"See you at the tree closest to the dumpster?"

"Four, three, two," he continued as Kirishima activated his quirk, hardening his skin as he quickly made a break for the exit, 'Damn that spikey haired loud mouth, when I get him I'm gonna break through that unbreakable skin and wear him like a coat over my shoulder like he's a badass cape decoration making him regret the day he crossed me and then Pink Cheeks is gonna think I'm even cooler!'

*BA DUM*

'AND WHAT THE HELL EVEN IS THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT,' he thought as he exploded out of the elevator and after his best friend chasing him into the night.

This was going to be a looooong week.

Author's Note: Depression is a bitch and anxiety is the mind killer.

Short summary complete, now onto the long-winded message of me being super excited to finally do a Bakugo x Uraraka story that I had been wanting to try and get out for the past two years and It's finally here and I really hope you guys enjoy it and give your thoughts in the comments, as I continue to try and push through some of my personal issues and deliver stories that make you guys happy.

What didnt help me push forward and keep writing: Me picking up D&D as a creative exercise, Sparking Zero came out, MHA ended and JJK ended (I like both endings in case you were at all curious), my vacation didnt go as planned, Akira Toriyama passed away (that one hit me really hard since I dont think I'd be writing if not for his impact on the world of anime and manga), and some deeper issues I dont feel comfortable speaking about on this platform.

I don't want to end this on a low note though so the happiest piece of news I can give is I got engaged to the single greatest person I have ever met, who continues to be my rock, my heart, and my inspiration. I'm grateful every day that I've had the chance to meet them and remain excited at whatever we decide to face together as best friends, writers, and husband and wife.

With that being said
Stay safe, be who you are,

Keep up the Good Work,
-The Last Cowboy

P.S. Go watch Transformers One it's kick ass
