The staff inside a now quiet Monitoring Room inside the Hero Association was on edge. While the unknown energy levels had finally disappeared, the reason as to why they appeared in the first place was still unknown.
"Any word from those who were dispatched?" a member asked.
"None, sir." another answered before their monitor lit up, a number calling in. "Wait! Incoming call from Flashy Flash!" they announced, gaining everyone's attention. "Flashy Flash! Report! What's going on?!" they asked. "...What?! Are you serious?!...Alright. Thank you for your report. Goodbye." he said before cutting the call and sighing. "False alarm. It's just Tornado throwing a tantrum in the middle of nowhere. No casualties." they said, causing the rest of them to relax.
Flashy Flash hung up his phone before turning to the group as they watched Zombiewoman reform after getting caught in the attack.
"Alright. That should be enough to keep the Hero Association from investigating any further." he said before his eyes narrowed at them all. "Now, about that explanation."
Gyoro Gyoro was staring at Phoenix Woman as the bird monster gave an explanation for returning early from her mission of finding Saitama.
"So you were resting your wings for a moment during your search for Saitama, when you noticed something else flying in the air?" Gyoro Gyoro asked.
"Yes. Judging by the aura and the size of the figure in front, I determined that it was the Tornado of Terror." Phoenix Woman answered. "The ones she had with her were a group of other monsters and a few heroes, all of which may have been restrained."
"May have?" Gyoro Gyoro asked.
"I didn't have time to check. I was afraid that if she noticed me, I'd have been captured as well, if not outright killed." Phoenix Woman answered.
"Normally, I don't tolerate failure. However, considering the threat that Tornado poses, I'm willing to overlook your failure to find Saitama." Gyoro Gyoro said.
"Speaking of Saitama, while I did not find him, I did have an encounter with one the kombu monsters that visited some time ago. The one with red kelp for hair." the bird monster stated. "I mentioned killing him, and she laughed as if I told a joke."
"Did she tell you where he lived?" GG asked.
"No. And I was caught off guard by her laughter that I didn't think to ask before she ran off." Phoenix Woman said while hanging her head in embarrassment.
"Perhaps Nyan will have more information when she turns." Gyoro Gyoro sighed before a drone caught sight of Nyan zooming into the Monster Association HQ. "Speak of the devil." he said before the drone nearest to Nyan approached her. "Nyan. Report to-" the drone began before noticing Nyan's state.
Her fur was dripping with sweat, she was gasping for air as if her lungs weren't working, and her eyes were wide, unfocused and filled with absolute terror.
"Nyan...NYAN!" Gyoro Gyoro called through the drone.
"AHH!" Nyan screamed as she slashed the drone, and the hallway, to shreds with her claws. A moment later, a second drone appeared and waited for Nyan to calm down.
"Please refrain from destroying my drones. They're not that easy to replace." Gyoro Gyoro admonished. "Report to me immediately." With that, the drone flew away while Nyan shook her head and headed towards Gyoro Gyoro's room. Awaiting her was Gyoro Gyoro and Phoenix Woman, both now looking at her.
"Welcome back." Gyoro Gyoro greeted dully. "Phoenix Woman has given her report. What about yours? Did you find Saitama?"
"...In a way." Nyan answered, her gaze to the ground. "I was having one of those kombu monsters lead me to him. But, on the way...we had been captured by the Tornado of Terror."
"Were there any other captives with her?" Gyoro Gyoro asked.
"Yes. A few heroes and monsters. One being the Deep Sea Queen that you wish to add to our ranks." Nyan reported.
"I see. And where is Saitama's home in the Ghost Town?"
At the question, Nyan's demeanor changed. Her whole body tensed and she looked like she had forgotten how to breathe for a moment.
"I asked you a question, Nyan. Where is Saitama's home?" Gyoro Gyoro repeated. Nyan only slowly shook her head, her gaze still on the ground. "You were there when the Tornado of Terror brought you along as a captive. You know where the base is! Answer me!" Gyoro Gyoro demanded as he increased the gravity on Nyan, making her struggle to keep from being squished against the floor. Despite this, she still shook her head in refusal.
"Why won't you answer him?!" Phoenix Woman asked as she backed away from the two.
"BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"
The two other monsters jumped at Nyan's sudden declaration, the psychic in the room stopping their power.
"...I saw Tornado fighting Saitama..." she said as she remembered the fight between the two heroes.
"You saw their fight?" Gyoro Gyoro asked. The drone he had sent out had arrived just in time to see the mountains smash into each other. It had no time to dodge when both of them were suddenly shattered, the debris flying everywhere and destroying the drone.
"Tornado was using her powers to crush Saitama, but all Saitama did was dodge or break anything she used on him. He didn't even try to fight back." Nyan answered. "But that's not the worst part...His face...That look on his face...He looked so...bored. As if Tornado trying to crush him was all nothing! And...And that kombu woman...what she said when I told her I would kill Saitama..."
"You could take every hero and monster alive and throw them at Saitama. He'd only complain how boring the fight was after swatting everyone away like flies."
"After seeing that fight...I honestly believe her." Nyan finished.
"You do realize how many Dragon Level threats we have on our side, including you, right?" Gyoro Gyoro asked.
"I know, but...I still can't see us winning if we fight him...I can't." Nyan whimpered, tears of fear forming in her eyes.
The other two monsters just watched as Nyan, a Dragon Level threat monster, one that delighted in breaking her opponents like they were toys, was reduced to a whimpering mess.
"Hmm...One final question. Was Evil Natural Water up there? It has gotten free from containment and was said to be acting strange."
"No." Nyan answered.
"I did not see it." Phoenix Woman confirmed.
"Leave me." he ordered. The two monsters complied and left the room. When they were gone, he sealed the room and went limp.
Aftering cutting her connection to her meat puppet, Psykos stood up from the couch and paced around the room.
"This hero, Saitama, could be a problem." she said to herself. "His strength is enough that even Tornado couldn't scratch him. I know I'm stronger than her, so I may not have a problem with him. The other monsters, however, could face trouble if he fights. But what about those monsters that speak so highly of him?"
She yelled and ran her fingers through her hair before throwing her wine glass into her fireplace, causing it to roar for a moment.
"I need more information!" she growled. "I need to discover everything there is about him! But how?! What could work?" She paced around the room, her mind swirling with ideas and strategies. "Should I lead him here and have everyone ambush him? No, too risky. Could weaken us too much and leave us helpless to the heroes. Have someone spy on him? May not work. Nyan was sent back a sniveling baby. Maybe I could send one of the lower ranked monsters? Have them act friendly or surrender? But who could...I..." she stopped as an idea popped into her head. "I'm either the smartest or craziest woman alive!"
Geryuganshoop, having no longer felt Tornado's power, visibly relaxed and let her arms and legs come undone into many tentacles.
"I think she's gone." the octopus looking alien sighed.
"Afraid to fight her again?" Boros teased.
"I don't know. I was pulling double duty last time we met. Fending her off and placing a shield over the ship to guard against the Earthling's bombardment." Geryuganshoop answered.
"Um, Lady Boros?" the furry alien underling spoke up, gaining his leader's attention. "I've been wondering, but what will we do next?"
"Hey, yeah. Now that you're at full strength, were we going to leave?" the red alien with three horns asked.
"Hmm. You make a good point." Boros said as she hummed in thought. "On one hand, we have no need to get involved in their war against the humans. On the other, they have been sheltering us while we recovered."
"You want to leave?"
The four aliens turned to see a goat girl monster approaching them. She had black and white fur, goat legs, big ears and a tiny bell around her neck.
"Oh hey. You're...uhh..." the furry alien said before he trailed off.
"Abysstalon." Boros spoke up as the goat monster girl stood before them. "Sent to check up on us?"
"Nah. Just wandering around and thought I'd pop in." she said. "You're thinking of leaving?"
"It's possible. I have fully recovered from my fight with your planet's strongest hero, so I no longer need to hide." Boros stated.
"Greatest hero? Which one? King? Tornado? Or are you talking about the top Class-S hero called Blast?" Abysstalon asked.
"I do not know those individuals, nor were any of them the one who defeated me." Boros answered. "The hero I speak of may be the strongest creature in the known universe. The hero called...Saitama." she explained, an eager smile coming to her lips as she spoke his name.
"...Who?" the goat monster asked.
"Saitama. The guy who defeated Lady Boros. The one who kept your planet from being destroyed by her." Geryuganshoop explained.
"Never heard of him." the goat girl answered with a shake of her head.
"Really? I'm surprised." said Boros. "He told me he was a hero. I assumed he'd be well known, considering he was strong enough to defeat me so easily."
"Maybe he's new. Maybe he was just calling himself one. I don't know. Either way, he's dead when we all attack." Abysstalon said, earning a chuckle from Boros. "What's so funny?"
"I was severely weakened when I first came here, yet I was able to defeat one of your strongest warriors with one blow. If I can do that while injured, what makes you think anyone here has a chance against Saitama when I couldn't beat him at my best?" Boros asked with a grin.
"That's why we're gathering a lot of strong monsters with various abilities." Abysstalon countered. Her response only got more laughter from Boros. "You really think this guy is all that? Fine. Believe what you want. We'll be having the last laugh when we wipe those heroes out for good." she said before she turned and walked off. "And I'll be the first to dance on his corpse when he's dead!" she shouted before running off.
"They're all going to die, aren't they?" the horned alien asked with a knowing look.
"Oh yeah." the furry alien nodded.
Saitama and Tornado were slowly making their way back to the spot where Tornado had dropped everyone off, with Tornado looking back and forth between him and the area the giant cliffs of rock used to be.
"What are you doing?" he finally asked.
"I'm trying to figure out how a guy like you was put in Class-C when you're, and I can't believe I'm saying this, unbelievably strong." she said. "None of the others in Class-S can reduce that much land to rubble with their bare hands in a split second."
"What about you?" he suddenly asked. "You were able to move them with your powers. Couldn't you turn all that to dust?"
"Of course I can! Up until now, I thought I was the only one." Tornado boasted. "King probably could, but I've never seen him fight before."
"Who's King?" Saitama asked, making her stop in the air.
"Who's Ki-Did you seriously ask who King is?!" Tornado yelled.
"Yeah. Who is he? He a hero?" Saitama asked.
"HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW THE HERO THAT EVERYONE CALLS THE STRONGEST MAN ON EARTH?!" she roared.
"Up until a few weeks ago, I didn't even know about the Hero Association." Saitama answered. She just stared at him, her mind unable to comprehend the words that just came out of his mouth.
"Ugh! You...Forget it!" she huffed, not wanting to deal with that brand of stupidity. "I don't want to know."
"Hey, you asked. I answered." he said in annoyance. "Now that I think about it, why did you want to meet me? That's why you came out here, right?"
"It's nothing. Probably not your fault, anyway." she huffed.
"What? Did I do something wrong?" he asked, making her groan.
"Fine! What was up with that food of yours?!" she snapped.
"Food? What food?" he asked in confusion.
"The food you gave me when all the Class-S heroes met! And the one I...took while I was drunk at the resort." she stated, her face turning a hint of pink at the last bit.
"Oh that? I don't know. It's just the usual stuff Ki makes for me." Saitama answered before looking up in thought. "Actually, she said she got that one mixed up for the one she gave my other disciple."
"What disciple? And who's Ki?" Tornado asked.
"The others that know about this don't want us to say who's in the know to anyone else unless they're here. As for Ki, she's the...eldest of the Kombu sisters?" he guessed. "She's the one with green kombu for hair."
"You let a monster make your meals?" Tornado asked in disbelief. "I wouldn't trust anything a monster makes. It could be poisoned or something!"
"If that were true, then wouldn't you be dead? You ate that food twice." Saitama pointed out. "Why are you curious about the food anyway?"
"That's none of your business!" she snapped with a blush. "It's between me and her now!"
"Alright. Whatever." Saitama sighed. "So, was this enough to get you to leave them alone? Or are you still taking us to the Hero Association?" he asked.
Tornado floated in place as she looked down at him, then at the area around them. She then cast her eyes on the group in the distance, her mind going back to their words and terrified expressions. Her eyes narrowed when she remembered Kogane speaking with that other cat monster, saying how he could beat anyone who faced him.
After a few moments, she groaned before sighing.
"Alright. I won't say anything...for now!" she decided. "But if I hear anything about these monsters attacking humans, I'm coming back to flatten them and the entire Ghost Town! Got it!?"
"Okay." Saitama shrugged. "Oh, wait a second. The Beast Queen wears a disguise and bounty hunts. That okay with you?"
"Bounty Hunting?" Tornado asked.
"Yeah. It started as an accident, but she kept going for money and to blow off steam." Saitama answered. "I let her do it if she doesn't outright kill them. Plus, it gets guys like that Butcher dude or whatever he was called off the streets."
"Ugh! Fine, whatever! Didn't ask for all of their life stories." Tornado snapped.
"My bad." he said before chuckling.
"What are you laughing at?" she growled.
"You just sounded like me. I'm not too fond on long stories either." Saitama answered. She just gave him a bored look as they continued on towards the others.
"...and that's the story." Bang finished.
"So all of you monsters are so terrified of Saitama that you don't attack humans anymore?" Darkshine asked.
"Pretty much. Except for self-defense." Ki answered.
"And he let's me go bounty hunting as long as I don't kill the human bounties." Beast Queen added.
"Huh...Well, after seeing what he just did to those mountains, I honestly believe you." Darkshine said, arms crossed over his muscular chest.
"Same here. I don't think any amount of fightin' spirit can take on someone who can do that."
"So...you're not gonna kill us?" Nori meekly asked.
"If you're not gonna kill or attack humans, I honestly don't see why I should." Darkshine said with a smile, making the majority of them relax. The smile faded when he saw Saitama and Tornado approach. "But her...?"
"That's another story." Flash finished for him as the two made it to the group.
"...And?" Deep Sea Queen asked after a tense moment of silence. Tornado glared at them all before huffing and turning away.
"You live...for now." she decided before glancing at them again. "Which one of you is named Ki?"
"Um...me?" Ki answered. She was immediately brought back up into the air.
"You and I need to talk." Tornado said before she flew a good distance away, Ki being pulled behind.
"KI!" the other Kombu sisters yelled in shock.
"Where's she taking her?!" Midori asked Saitama.
"I don't know. She asked about some food and now wants to talk to Ki since she made it." Saitama answered.
"Food?" Zombiewoman asked before looking in the direction Tornado and Ki went. "That's strange." she said before a bunch of ringtones went off. Genos, Bang, Metal Bat, and Flashy Flash all checked their phones to see the same alert.
"What's happening?! My phone got destroyed!" Zombiewoman stated.
"Master! A giant monster of Threat Level Dragon has appeared in City-Z! It it currently heading for City-Y!" Genos informed the bald hero.
"Let's go!" Saitama said before running off.
"Yes, Master!" Genos obeyed before racing after him.
"I will follow." Flash stated.
"Why?" Midori asked before he could run off. "Saitama's way more than enough to handle whatever it is. Just relax and let him handle it."
"Besides, he needs the points to join you guys in Class-S one day." Vaccine Woman added.
"Hey, before I leave, I gotta ask. What did Saitama do to get that strong?" Darkshine suddenly said. Most of the group looked at each other before Vaccine Woman answered.
"You...would never believe us." she answered.
"Master Bang, would you like to come over for some tea?" Midori offered. "I'm also baking some...cookies that I may have leftintheOVENFUCK!" she yelped before she ran back in the direction of the Ghost Town.
"That's not good! If she burned down the building, Saitama's gonna have all our heads!" Vaccine Woman yelled in panic before she and the other monsters all ran off, leaving the heroes behind.
"Does that normally happen?" Darkshine asked.
"No. Usually she's more careful about things like that." Bang answered, confusing Darkshine while he chuckled and walked towards the Ghost Town.
Saitama and Genos, after having taken care of the Dragon Level Threat called Pluton, were calmly walking back to the apartments.
"Well, that was lame." Saitama said with a disappointed sigh. "Compared to Twister, that fight was just lame."
"Her name is Tornado, Master." Genos corrected.
"Oh yeah. That is her name." Saitama said as they saw the apartments come into view. "I wonder if she can do more than just toss rocks with her powers."
"Perhaps you can ask her what else she can do." Genos suggested. "Or even challenge her to another fight and observe. Though, I find the second option a waste of time since she cannot defeat you."
"Maybe. At least the rocks she threw were a lot larger than just little pebbles." Saitama said with a shrug as they ascended the stairs and walked towards his home, a worried Nori standing in front of the door. "Nori?" he spoke up, making her smile.
"Saitama! You're okay!" she said as she hugged him.
"Yeah. They went down with one punch...like everything else does." he grumbled the last part.
"I'm glad!" she said before backing off.
"By the way, everyone left early. Why was that?" Saitama asked.
"Midori thought she might've burned the place down because she didn't remember if she left the over on when we were all taken to watch you fight Tornado." Nori answered before her voice gained a bit of panic in it. "But never mind that! Something broke in!"
"What?! Oh man! You guys alright?! They steal anything?!" Saitama asked in panic. "Where is everyone?!"
"Most of us are fine. All the other heroes went home after a while. Follow me." she said before leading him and Genos to the Subterranean Queen and Vaccine Woman's room. "The Subterranean Queen was here when it came. She caught it stealing all the kombu we had saved and attacked her. It...well...look!" she said as she opened the door, allowing the two heroes in.
The Subterranean Queen was lying on her back inside the room, her body bare of any armor, and her stomach looking like she swallowed an oversized pumpkin. Vaccine Woman was also present as she sat next to the Subterranean Queen's head.
"Subterranean Queen? What happened to you?" Saitama asked in surprise.
"Sai...tama...?" she groaned. "I...don't feel so...*urrrrrp*." she belched, her three eyes going in different directions.
"You okay? Nori said something attacked while we were away." said Saitama.
"It was...I don't know. It looked like a giant woman made of water." Subterranean Queen answered. "None of my attacks did anything to it. It stripped me of my weapons and armor before it...played with me." she said with a shudder.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Saitama said in sympathy before looking at her distended stomach. "What about...this?" he said while gesturing to it.
"While it was manhandling me, it took a lot of that kombu it stole and made me injest quite a bit of it while it...it kissed me!" she answered with a blush. "I probably would've been forced to eat more if it hadn't of sensed the others and left."
"Wow. First it attacks the Deep Sea Queen, now you." Saitama said while scratching his head. "You going to be okay?"
"I'm fine. I'll just...sleep this off." she said before glaring at Vaccine Woman, who was gently poking her stomach. "Stop that."
"After you made fun of me? No way!" Vaccine Woman said before she got up and sat on her stomach, making the larger monster groan. "This is payback, bitch!"
"Master, we should be more vigilant in case this water monster returns." Genos suggested.
"Good idea." Saitama agreed before turning to the others in the room. "Well, it's been a day. I'm going to relax. Shout if you need anything." he said as he opened the door to leave, only to step back when Ki appeared.
"Nori! I need some of your hair! The kombu I saved up is gone and Tornado wants some and..." she trailed off when she saw Vaccine Woman lying on a protesting Subterranean Queen's stomach. "...What I miss?"
A/N: The name Abysstalon was suggested by Darklord331, who has been a tremendous help with these last few chapters. A shoutout to them, everybody!
