A/N: Lorelei wakes up in the hospital with little memory of what happened the night before.

Damn, I forgot how intense the beginning of Season 3 was. Lorelei is not directly involved in the events of the first two episodes, but we do get some Lorelei and Wu bonding, and some Lorelei/Sean. The end of the chapter will be the end of the episode from Sean's POV.

*Lorelei's POV*

God, Lorelei's head hurt. She'd never gotten drunk before, but she imagined this is what it felt like. As she started waking up a bit more, she became aware of background noise and some kind of beeping that indicated she was not in her own bedroom. Slowly, she opened her eyes.

"Well good morning Sleeping Beauty." A semi-familiar voice said from the right.

Lorelei glanced to the side and found Sergeant Wu sitting in a chair beside the bed she was in. Another quick glance around the room. Lorelei appeared to be in a hospital bed. What the? She tried to talk, but her mouth was incredibly dry, and her throat and chest hurt. "Water." She got out and Sergeant Wu got up, quickly filling a glass with water before handing it to Lorelei.

"Go slowly." He told her.

Lorelei took his advice and after a few moments, the glass was empty. Sergeant Wu took it back and placed it on the bedside table. "Thanks. What happened?"

"You don't remember?" Lorelei shook her head slightly. "I don't know all the facts, but apparently some tried kidnapping you yesterday. You got hit with chloroform. Captain Renard found you and brought you in. He was pretty worried. Has had officers watching you since. I only came in this morning."

Chloroform. That's right. That guy from the spice shop. What had happened to him? He clearly failed his kidnapping attempt if she was here, in the hospital. Lorelei's hand suddenly flew to her stomach. "My baby!?" She said, suddenly panicking.

"Hey, hey. Your baby is fine. And so are you. No injuries. Just some minor effects from the chloroform. Which is pretty amazing." Lorelei let out a sigh of relief and relaxed back against the pillows. Her baby was ok. Whatever had gone down had not hurt her baby. "How are you feeling?"

"Um, I've got a headache. And my throat and my chest hurt a bit. And I'm pretty tired, even though I feel like I've been sleeping for hours."

Sergeant Wu nodded. "Do you want me to get a nurse?"

Lorelei nodded. "Might as well."

He reached over and hit a button she assumed was the call button. Not long after that, a nurse came in, seemingly pleased to see that Lorelei was awake. She confirmed that that both herself and the baby were fine. She also took Lorelei's vitals, nothing her blood pressure was still a little high but better than it had been the night before. She advised Lorelei that she would probably be able to leave soon, but they just had to wait for the doctor to make his rounds.

As the nurse left, Lorelei felt Sergeant Wu's eyes on her. She glanced at him. "Yes Sergeant Wu?"

"So, I guess congratulations are in order." He said slowly, although he had a sly look on his face. "Baby Burkhardt is having a baby."

"Yeah." Lorelei said slowly, wondering where he was going with this.

"And Captain Renard is the father."

Lorelei stared at him. "What? What makes you think that?"

Sergeant Wu shrugged. "One of the officers from last night, Officer Callaghan overheard the captain speaking with the doctor. He's your soulmate and the father of your baby. Plus, she said the two of you looked pretty…cosy before he left. And unfortunately for the both of you, Officer Callaghan is the biggest gossip in the precinct. So, by this afternoon, everybody will know."

Lorelei groaned. "Great."

"I assume Nick knows. It explains why he and Hank looked like they wanted to kill the captain a couple of days ago."

"Yeah. I only just told Nick. He wasn't the happiest."

"You and the captain were keeping it a secret?" Lorelei nodded slowly. "Wow. Well, um, congratulations. To the both of you."

"Thanks." Lorelei said, gently running her hand over her still mostly flat stomach. She glanced around. "Is my phone here? Does Nick know I'm here?"

Sergeant Wu shook his head. "I don't think you came in with any personal effects. And as for Nick, I haven't seen him since yesterday afternoon."

Lorelei frowned. She found it a little weird that neither Sean nor any of her friends had been here when she woke up. Had something happened with the cracher-mortel yesterday? "What about Sean?"

Sergeant Wu raised an eyebrow. "Sean huh?"

Lorelei rolled her eyes. "What, you think I'm calling him Captain Renard all the time? He's not my boss."

"I don't know what kind of weird shit you do in the bedroom. And I don't want to know."

Lorelei scoffed playfully. "Like I'd tell you."

"Anyway. I'm not sure about the captain. He just told me some had tried to kidnap you, and he needed me on protective detail for the day. Maybe he is tracking whoever tried, down."

Lorelei nodded. Something didn't feel right. It was a surprise that none of her friends were here. There was definitely something going on. However, without her phone she couldn't do much.

Not long after, the doctor stopped by and cleared Lorelei for discharge on the condition that she rest for the next couple of days, see her OBGYN within the next week or so, and come back if she was having any trouble breathing. Lorelei agreed, desperate to get out of the hospital. She had tried calling Nick and Rosalee on the phone in her room, however neither had answered. Lorelei was starting to get worried. She did recall that they had headed to some container yard, believing that the victims of cracher-mortel might be there. Had something gone wrong? Did they run into the cracher-mortel? It was driving Lorelei crazy, but she tried to keep herself calm, aware that stress was not good for the baby.

Sergeant Wu had driven her down to the station, as Sean had collected her stuff from the spice shop and was holding it for her. When she arrived, Sergeant Wu led her to Sean's office. Along the way, she became aware that a lot of people were looking at her closely. Gossip must have spread quickly. Sergeant Wu had left Lorelei in Sean's office to give them a moment alone. It was there that Sean provided her with some information about what had happened to Nick. But assured Lorelei that he was fine. Lorelei could tell her was keeping something from her, but accepted it was more out of concern than anything else. He had then handed over her bag and sent her home with plans to come by later tonight.

Wu had led Lorelei out of the precinct and back to his patrol car. They headed back to her place, stopping to get food on the way. Lorelei checked her phone, surprised to see a lot of missed calls and messages, mainly from the eisbibers. Including one from Katie.

Bitch! Why didn't you tell me I was gonna be an Aunt? Or that you had found your soulmate? I had to find out from Uncle Bud.

Lorelei was a little surprised it had taken this long for Bud to spill the beans. He really did have a big mouth. But at least she wouldn't have to tell people individually. All the important people in her life now knew. She just had to let her work supervisor know. And maybe some of her professors. She still didn't know if she was going to take next semester or even the whole year off, although she had time before deciding.

They arrived back at her place and were greeted by Daisy and Molly. Lorelei was grateful that she invested in an automatic feeder, so the pair didn't miss out on dinner or breakfast. Molly was a little antsy after being cooped inside all day, but unfortunately Lorelei did not have the energy to take her for a walk. Maybe she should look into getting a dogwalker. Lorelei had a quick shower to wash the hospital smell off her before she and Wu sat in front of the tv, eating their food and watching RuPaul's Drag Race.

"What is your first name? Cause I ain't calling you Wu or Sergeant Wu all afternoon."

Wu sighed. "It's Drew."

Lorelei stared at him. "Your name is Drew Wu."

"Yes."

"Your parents called you Drew Wu."

"No, they named me Andrew."

"You didn't think to go by Andy."

"Hey, I'm not being paid to sit here and have you make fun of my name."

"You deserve it. I know you're the one who started calling me Baby Burkhardt."

"Better than what people will probably start calling you now. Captain Renard's Baby Mama."

"Why can't I have a nickname that has nothing to do with the men in my life?"

"What, like Hurricane Lorelei?"

"That's more like it. Cause I'm dangerous and am a force of nature."

"Fine. Hurricane Lorelei it is."

"Thank you."

Eventually it grew dark, and Sean arrived, sending Drew home. Once the uniformed officer had exited, Sean strode towards Lorelei and swept her into his arms, pressing his lips to hers, as he carried her back towards the couch. He sat down, holding Lorelei in his lap. Lorelei sighed, resting her head against his chest. "I'm so glad you're ok. If anything had happened to either one of you…I don't know what I would have done." He murmured between pressing small kisses to her forehead and top of her head. "When I saw you passed out on the floor of the spice shop…"

"I'm ok. We're ok." She said softly, pressing a kiss to his covered chest. Lorelei pulled back slightly and looked up at him. "I'm still a little fuzzy on the details though. I remember, the others had left, and I thought I would be fine at the spice shop. Then someone was banging on the front door. He needed help. He sounded so desperate. I had to help him. Pretty stupid of me though. I'm too kind for my own good sometimes."

Sean smiled softly down at her, his hand coming up to gently caress her face. "Your kindness is one of the things I love about you. Don't ever change."

Lorelei sighed. "I'm still too trusting though. The minute I turned my back, he grabbed me. I remember fighting back. A white cloth. I started to feel…fuzzy. And, not much after that."

"I met up with the others at the container yard. I had followed my brother there. He met the Baron and then left. The Baron left not long after that, after loading a box into a truck. Then I was attacked by some of the Baron's victims." Sean sighed, pulling Lorelei even closer if possible. "After I fought them off, I found Nick's phone. It was Hank. He was at the yard, had brought back up. They had lost Nick after being overrun. By that point, I had realised my brother's plan. The Baron and his victims were a distraction while he got what he really wanted."

"Me and Nick."

Sean nodded. "Hank, Juliette, Rosalee, Monroe and I headed to the airport. We knew he had Nick but were not sure if he had you. We arrived to find the plane had just taken off. I drove them all back to spice shop. I had to check on you as you couldn't be reached. We found two dead bodies, and you passed out on the floor."

Lorelei's eyes widened. "Two?"

"Yes. Two. You managed to fight off two men twice your size while fighting the effects of chloroform. One had a broken neck, the other a stab wound to his neck. I took you to the hospital, while Hank looked into my brother's flight plan and the others made more antidote for the victims at the container yard."

Lorelei looked at him. "But Nick didn't leave the country?"

Sean shook his head. "He was affected faster than other victims. We don't know for sure, but he broke out of the coffin and at some point, the plane crashed near Mt Cedara. Baron Samedi is dead. We tracked Nick and eventually found him, administering the antidote. He is awake and back at home with Juliette."

Lorelei sighed, leaning back into his chest. "Your brother must be pissed."

Sean scoffed. "I am sure he is. In hell."

Lorelei sat up, looking Sean in the eye. "He's dead?"

"Yes."

A small smirk crossed her face. "I assume you had something to do with."

"I may have."

"Good. What about the guys in the spice shop?"

"I had someone dispose of them."

Lorelei nodded and then sighed. "I tried to avoid danger, but it still managed to find me."

"I guess that is the downside of being a Grimm."

"True." Lorelei agreed. She looked at her soulmate, her hand coming to lightly brush the bruise under his chin. "Did Nick do that?"

Sean reached up, lightly brushing it as well. "I'm not sure actually. He did certainly throw us around when we caught up with him."

"I guess he did eventually kick your ass."

Sean laughed. "I guess he did."

Lorelei shifted so she was straddling Sean's lap. She brought her hands up to his face, gently tracing the bruises and cuts on his face before leaning forward to kiss each one gently. Sean's eyes fluttered closed as he waited for her to finish. Once she had done so, she cupped his cheeks gently and kissed him before pulling away slightly to rest her forehead against his. "I'm glad you're ok. And thank you for bringing my brother back. I don't know what I'd do if I lost either one of you."

"I'd do anything for you mon amour. Tu es mon cœur, mon âme, mon tout." Sean told her, pressing a soft kiss against her lips.

"Je ressens la même chose, mon amour. Je t'aime." Lorelei said, feeling her chest tighten with love for the man before her.

"Je t'aime aussi."

*Sean's POV*

The next morning, Sean dragged himself out of bed, pressing a gentle kiss to his sleeping soulmates head before heading to his apartment to get ready for the day. As he was driving to work, he contemplated his and Lorelei's current arrangement. Although living separately was working for now, Sean knew that when the baby arrived it may be more beneficial for the couple to be living together. Sean planned on being a hands-on parent. He wanted to be there for everything, well as much as he could. That would be easier if he and Lorelei were living under the same roof. Their relationship seemed to be returning to normal, although Sean knew that Lorelei still didn't completely trust him yet. And he could not blame her. However, he intended on re-earning that trust. Not just hers, but Nick and her friends as well.

Lorelei's lease would end at the beginning of June. If she wished to renew, he would naturally agree, however he would also bring up the subject of her moving in with him. Along with Molly and Daisy, of course. It would give them time to get his apartment ready for when the baby arrived. The spare room would make a perfect nursery. Sean knew he had some time before broaching the subject with Lorelei, however he was eager to get the ball rolling. Perhaps he would bring it up with her this evening.

The day moved too slowly for Sean's liking. He was eager to get home and speak with Lorelei. On more than one occasion, he found himself pulling the ultrasound picture from his pocket and staring at it, a small smile on his face as he looked at the image of his child. Would it be a girl or a boy? Would they have their mother's hair and eyes or take after him? Would they inherit his wesen side or Lorelei's Grimm gene?

Sean received word that the detectives assigned to the bar fight case had visited both Rosalee and Juliette. Unfortunately, Nick had overheard the detectives interviewing Juliette and deduced that he was responsible for the death of a man. While waiting for Nick to arrive at the precinct, Sean received a call from an unknown number. It had been his mother, who had heard of Eric's death and surmised Sean was behind it. The call was short and after hanging up, he realised he should tell his mother about his impending fatherhood. Although their relationship was a little distant, he knew she would be happy to hear that he had found his soulmate, and that she would finally become a grandmother. His mother may be a hexenbiest, but even she would be looking forward to spoiling her grandchild.

Nick arrived not long after his call with his mother. He silently entered Sean's office, closing the door behind him. They looked at each other, as Sean placed his phone on his desk.

"I hear you want to do the right thing." Sean said.

"And you're going to try and talk me out of it."

Sean looked at him, considering how to do just that. "Let me show you something." Sean told him, opening a draw and pulling out the flash drive he had taken from the bar. He opened his laptop and plugged the flash drive in. He pulled up the footage from the other night, as Nick came to stand beside him, waiting expectantly. Sean stepped away and gestured to the video that had started playing. "Recognise yourself?" Nick leant down and watched the video. "Pay close attention to the guy with the knife. His name was Mitchell Zinc. He died in the hospital at 5:40 in the morning. And if you hadn't done what you did, you'd probably be dead." Nick looked up at him, closing the laptop. "This is one of those times Nick, when you walk in two worlds. You know why you did it, you just…can't explain it. At least not in a court of law." Nick sighed and started pacing. "Sometimes justice isn't obvious." Sean returned to stand behind his desk. "You have to understand something Nick, my brother did this to you. It was all part of a plan to destroy a Grimm, or at least get one to work for him. And if you turn yourself in…" Nick turned to look at him. "You will give them exactly what they want."

Nick sighed and appeared to be taking Sean's words into consideration. He nodded and walked out of Sean's office without another word. Sean watched as he left, just as the two detectives investigating the case walked in. They greeted Nick and he returned their greeting. Sean watched expectantly, hoping Nick would not do the right thing. To his relief, nothing further was said, and Nick went to sit at his desk. Sean returned to his office, letting out a sigh. The world needed Nick Burkhardt. But most importantly, so did his sister.

A/N: So, I guess in the end, Nick did knock Sean around a bit. Even if he wasn't of sound mind. Still might do a one-shot though.
