Ladies and gentlemen! Autobots and Decepticons! And all other forms of life out there, the Transformers are about to land on Remnant, in this, the first chapter of a new Transformers&RWBY crossover, presented by the one, the only...STUDIO FANDOM! And now, here's your host, the crossover crafter, the epic builder, the one and only lyokoMARVELanime, aka LYOKO PRIME!
[audience applause]
AN: Hey, hello, greeting, and as everyone's favorite Remnant-born android would say...
Penny: Sal-U-tations!
AN: Hey! NO! No! No, no, no, no, no, no, NO! It is not time for major main characters like you to be appearing here yet! You are too early! Get outta here!
Penny: But I thought this was a RWBY crossover? Why would it be bad for me to be here?
AN: Because, as far as I know, this story takes place at a time when you haven't even been "born" yet! This takes place in the era of Team STRQ! You know, Ruby's parents and Uncle's team?
Penny: Oh! Right. Sorry. That would explain a lot.
AN: Yes, now if you could just-wait. What do you mean it would explain a lot? What does that explain?
Penny: Why Ruby's teammates are trying to keep her from getting onto the main stage while she looks like she's really excited for what she might consider the greatest thing ever.
AN: [stares blankly for a few minutes] Uh...I don't...I don't know how to reply to that. Just...Just please go away, Penny. You can come back in the next story. Or when I next update Remnant of the Key, whichever happens first.
Penny: Affirmative. I will prepare my best repertoire of funny interactions and jokes for each situation.
AN: [just watches as Penny leaves] You know, if that came from anyone else, that would be a lot stranger. [sighs a little sadly] It just wasn't fair what happened to her back in Volume 8, then again, a lot of people got the short end of the stick in Volume 8. Some more deserving of it than others [coughs] Ironwood and Jacques [end cough]
Anyways, let's get down to business. If you guys have seen any of RWBY Meetings, then you're probably familiar with it's third chapter. Guess what? This is the beginning of that. Yeah, this is the first of the RWBY Meetings sneak previews to get its full story out there. Kinda surprising, huh? I mean, I was expecting it to be either the Marvel Universe one or, more likely, the Spider-Man one, but as it turns out, our old pals from Cybertron are getting the next RWBY crossover from Studio Fandom. And let me just say, it actually feels a little bit like coming home with doing a Transformers crossover again.
Bumblebee: Yeah, and it feels good for us to be back here. Can't wait to see the kind of action we'll get this time around. I just hope I don't spend most if not all of a story without my voice again. That's kinda gotten pretty old at this point.
AN: Uh...I have no comment on that matter at this time. And yeah, I know I've got the Star Wars&Transformers crossover, but something about this one feels like it has a bit more of a natural flow to it. Probably because there's less of an AU element to the Transformers side of things. Of course, there is another reason why I'm both starting this story and posting this chapter now.
Optimus: And what might that be?
AN: I'm glad you asked, Optimus. Let me take this time to give a big shout-out to the man who gave us the voice of our legendary Autobot leader, because today is the day of his 80th birthday! Ladies and gentlemen, let's give a big happy birthday cheer for the man, the legend, the original and most recognized voice of Optimus Prime himself, Peter Cullen!
[audience applause]
Yeah, we owe a great deal to that man, so consider this a special thanks and birthday tribute to Peter Cullen for giving us the Optimus Prime we all know and love best. Now, with all that said and done, let's get this show on the road and...Ahem, Optimus, if you would?
Optimus: Gladly. Autobots, transform and roll out!
AN: Ah, you just never get tired of hearing that.

Chapter 1: Farewell Cybertron
Many ages ago in a distant galaxy, there was a massive, metal planet known as Cybertron, populated by great metal beings capable of altering their forms into many different configurations. They were known by many names, but the most common of those names has always been the Transformers. Their history, like any species, is filled with both proven fact and incredible legends, from the tales of Primus the Creator and his eternal enemy Unicron the Chaos Bringer, to those of first Transformers Primus created known commonly as the Original Thirteen Primes, but as with all things, no history or collection of legends is free of its darker moments and bad stories. The most common of these dark spots has always been one thing above all else: war, and while some would think that the Transformers have evolved past their days of battling to the death to settle a dispute, the state of Cybertron today would prove otherwise, for it was being consumed by the ravage of a war unlike any before, and the Transformers on now on the very brink of extermination.
Today, a battle of principles and survival rages across Cybertron. On one side are the vile, devious, and scheming forces known as the Decepticons. Their leader, Megatron had once been a mighty gladiator who sought to change the current, stagnating government so that Cybertron may be restored to the golden age it once held before the current ruling council took its seat with Sentinel Prime and Zeta Prime acting as its leaders, and Alpha Trion the chief advisor. However, when he finally gained an audience with the High Council, Megatron revealed his true colors and plans for enacting his vision of change on Cybertron. He intended to restore his world to its golden age through conquest and tyranny, and was determined to claim the right to be the next Prime by any means necessary. Given his already large number of radical followers, Megatron's corruptive goals almost went unopposed, but even the deepest darkness always has a glimmer of light within, and this time was no different.
The greatest opposition to the Decepticons was the noble, selfless, and heroic forces known as the Autonomous Robotic Organisms, or Autobots for short, and their leader was none other than the last true Prime himself, Optimus Prime. A champion of freedom for all sentient beings, Optimus had opposed Megatron's dark plans for Cybertron from the moment the Decepticon leader had appeared before the High Council and his faith and charismatic words had won the sparks of many Transformers across Cybertron. Sadly, Megatron saw Optimus's stand against him as a vile betrayal, and before long, the Decepticons had launched several attacks on many vital locations across the planet, igniting the fires of war between the Autobots and Decepticons.
Eventually, the war between the Autobots and Decepticons became more than just a clash of ideals; their war became one of survival, when Megatron went so far as to launch a plan to seize the AllSpark, the source of new life for all Transformers, and then pervert its functions so that all future generations of Transformers would be born as Decepticons, while the Autobots would be wiped out in an instant. In order to prevent this catastrophe that would ultimately destroy his people and his world, Optimus was forced to remove the AllSpark from Cybertron, and launch it into a barely functioning Space Bridge portal leading to parts unknown. His attempts at saving the Autobots and the AllSpark from Megatron's vile plan were successful, but the cost of removing the AllSpark was far too great. As a result of the AllSpark's removal, Cybertron lost all of its abilities to produce the life-giving substance known as energon; the fuel, ammunition, and very life-blood of all Transformers, and with so little energon remaining, it was not long before the Autobots and Decepticons were forced to fight over control of that as well. Still, it did not matter who controlled the most energon on Cybertron when there was no way for them to make more, and thus, both sides had began to develop plans to locate and retrieve the AllSpark from wherever it had landed, and in failing that, locating other alternate sources of energon on other planets.
That is part of the reason for the battle taking place at this very moment; namely, the battle in which the Autobots were fighting to protect their own ship and its launch site from being either seized or destroyed by the Decepticon forces. Granted, a team of Autobots had departed a few hours earlier to do the same to the ship Megatron had intended to launch for the same purpose, but they had been under the impression that the Decepticons were focusing all their efforts on launching said ship, given how massive their scouting teams had claimed the fabled Nemesis to be. Clearly, Megatron did not need as many people for his ship as they had predicted, and now the Autobots were paying the price for their slight oversight.
"Hold yer ground, 'Bots! We've got another wave coming in hot!" shouted the Autobot weapons specialist, Ironhide, who was currently firing every gun he could get his hands on at the advancing enemies.
"That might be harder than you think, Ironhide! They've already broken through our front lines!" First Lieutenant Jazz reported from where he was positioned and firing. "Arcee, any word from our own attack force?"
"Negative! I've lost all contact with Commanders Ultra Magnus and Elita One!" Arcee reported as she lowered a hand from her comm. device, before ducking behind cover to avoid being hit by a particularly nasty explosion. "And it's a little hard to try and regain that contact with all the explosions."
"Can't really help you there, Arcee! There's just too many of them!" Wheeljack informed her, only to notice one of their troops being blown back a second later. He did not look like he would be walking the resulting damage off. "Bot down! We need a medic!"
"I'm working on it!" Chief Medical Officer Ratchet insisted as he continued to do whatever quick patch jobs he could on the soldiers he was already treating while firing his own weaponry at the approaching Decepticons.
Another hail of gunfire suddenly came down on the Autobots, and it looked life several Decepticon flyers were preparing to make their next move when they were suddenly struck down by a new storm of weapons fire coming from behind the Autobots. More blaster fire eliminated the Decepticon forces as the Autobots located the source of their sudden rescue, letting out grins and a few cheers of relief as Optimus Prime charged forward to the front lines of the battle, his Ion Blaster blazing as he went. Optimus soon leapt into the air, avoiding the fires that just licked at his armor, and gaining the high ground for a moment, and then managed to down even more enemy troops before he landed again, crashing through an enemy ground troop with his fist upon rolling up onto his feet again. A mere pair of shots allowed him to eliminate another flyer from the fight, and disabled a second Decepticon that he did not really bother to take much note of before lifting it up over his shoulder and slamming it down again in one fluid motion.
Optimus then took a quick scan of the area around him, getting an easy view of both his own troops and the enemies still approaching, and then reloaded his weapon as he turned to face the enemy again. He only paused in his next round of firing to ask the Autobot closest to him, "Where's B-127?"
"Haven't seen him in a little while. Not since I asked him and Deadlock to try and circle around to hit the enemy from another angle," Jazz reported.
Optimus looked up to the air, spotting one of the flyers on his side and called out, "Windblade! Any sign of B-127?!"
"Affirmative sir!" the female Autobot reported before spinning out of her jet mode and slashing through several Decepticons at once with her sword as she descended a short distance to the ground. She quickly assumed jet mode once again to avoid dropping all the way and proceeded to fire at the enemy with hailstorm of energon blasts from above alongside of the other Autobot flyers and Aerialbots. "He should be arriving at your position in just a matter of microcycles."
Just as Windblade had said, a small, high speed yellow Autobot with black stripes raced across the battlefield, firing at Decepticons with the guns extending up from his hood, and disabled a couple of Decepticons long enough for him to come crashing through them. The result of this crash sent him spinning forwards from his wheels, but this Autobot was able to roll with any punches very easily and swiftly transformed into robot mode so that he would land feet first into the next Decepticon in his path. A quick swipe of a dagger-like weapon that extended out from his wrist allowed this brave Autobot to slash off the unfortunate Decepticon's head, just seconds before they both hit the ground, and he then kicked that head like a ball into the 'Con that was attempting to sneak up on Optimus from behind. When the not-so-sneaky Decepticon let out a grunt from being hit by this surprise attack, Optimus only spared one single shot from his blaster without even looking at it for longer than necessary to remove another Decepticon from battle, and then turned to his rescuer.
"Sorry I'm a little late. Traffic's worse than usual," B-127 lightly joked as he drew his blaster and proceeded to fire on any Decepticons that entered his crosshairs.
Optimus was just about to offer up a reply, when they both heard their comrade Deadlock shouting, "Get down! Enemy reinforcements incoming!"
B-127 and Optimus both turned to see what their ally had spotted, and their optics quickly went wide at the sight of the enemy reinforcements Drift had spotted. "Uh Optimus, is that…?" B-127 started to ask, hoping he was seeing things.
Sadly, Optimus could not grant that wish, as Soundwave, Starscream, and Shockwave all landed above them, having jumped out from a small fleet of Decepticon drop ships. As if to confirm his presence was real, Soundwave then gave a single order in his usual, neutral almost synthetic sounding voice. "Decepticons…attack!"
Seeing three of the Decepticons' highest ranking and most dangerous soldiers joining the fight was bad enough, but the small fleet of additional troops that were now being deployed both on the ground and in the air made even Optimus grow worried for their chances of victory. At least if they remained at their current position. "Autobots, fall back! Get to the Ark," he shouted before opening fire on any enemies that were already getting too close for comfort. He then commed the ship in question to relay additional orders for the crew already on board. "Activate the ship's defense and weapon systems! Do not let anything near it or the launch site!"
"But that could drain out any energon we might need to launch," Chromia reported from the bridge.
"That's an order!" Optimus insisted while allowing other Autobots to get to the ship ahead of him. He was not about to let anyone get left behind if he could help it. "We won't be able to launch at all if the Decepticons destroy everything here."
"…Understood, sir," Chromia eventually responded. Not long after, the Ark's shields and weapons came online, and proceeded to do everything possible to keep the Decepticons away from both the ship and its launch site.
Seeing that they would not be getting anywhere near the ship itself, Shockwave turned to Starscream and issued both him and the Seekers a new set of orders. "Destroy the launch site. Ensure they have no way to escape."
Normally, Starscream would have sneered some vain retort, but today, he kept himself in check, and simply transformed and led his fellow Seekers in a charge for the Autobot's vessel of hope. The second they were in range of the launch site, the Seekers opened fire, making an attempt to damage it any way they could in order to render it unusable, but Optimus was not about to let anything stop him from getting his ship airborne at least.
"All flyers and Aerialbots, intercept the Seekers as quickly as possible. Make sure to hold them off long enough for the Ark to lift off," Optimus radioed out to his troops as he arrived on the Ark's bridge with most of his main forces and most trusted troops.
"Right away, Optimus, sir. Aerialbots are en route now," Silverbolt reported as he led his team into the skies, and proceeded to engage the Seekers in an all-out dogfight. Any Aerialbots that were not engaging Starscream's team were quick to divert the Decepticon ground forces from getting any closer to their ship.
With the Seekers and Decepticon ground troops occupied, Optimus and the other Autobots were able to finalize the launch prep for their ship, and just seconds before the launch site itself had been hit by a series of missile fire that the Seekers just managed to get past the Aerialbots. Unfortunately, the launch site ended up not being the only thing that was hit by the Seekers' bombardment; the Ark took some damage as well. On the grand scale of things, it was a rather minimal amount of damage, but it was still enough to slow the ship's ascent from Cybertron all the same. A fact that none of the Decepticons missed.
"Soundwave, you and the Seekers best return to the Nemesis as quickly as possible. Lord Megatron will wish to know that his best chance of eliminating his greatest enemies is now within reach," Shockwave informed the communications specialist.
"Understood," Soundwave nodded. "Returning to Nemesis to engage pursuit."
"And what about you, Shockwave? Don't you think Lord Megatron would want you to be on board as well?" Starscream questioned, not for the first time, either.
"I have been tasked with remaining on Cybertron to command our forces in Lord Megatron's absence. It would be illogical for me to join you all aboard the ship," Shockwave replied simply.
Starscream just sneered at the Decepticon scientist, but offered little else in retort before he and Soundwave boarded the ships that would take them back to the Nemesis. Regardless of the Seeker leader's feelings though, all the Decepticons could feel that this would be the day when their lord and master finally ended both Optimus Prime and the Autobots for good. Either that, or lead them to their own demise, but no one was brave enough to say it, let alone in Megatron's presence. No one except Starscream that is, and Megatron had already given him a very harsh punch for the comment.
As he watched Cybertron move further away from view, only mildly noting how Optimus was currently sending one last set of orders for the Autobots they had been forced to leave behind via the ship's communications relay, B-127 could not help but let a frown cross his face. He could hardly believe it had come to this, and some part of him had held onto the hope that they could still stay and keeping fighting to save Cybertron. A foolish wish, sure, but B-127 still held onto that hope right up until Optimus had given the order to launch. Now, he could only look back as his home moved further and further away from them. His sadness at leaving did not go unnoticed either.
"Are you alright, Bee?" Deadlock asked of his friend.
Bee turned to face Deadlock properly when the sword-wielding Autobot addressed him. These days it was hard to believe Deadlock had once been a Decepticon warrior were it not for his name, but considering how many times he had saved Bee's spark after he first approached the scout to seek both asylum from Megatron and a chance at redemption, Bee knew Deadlock was an ally they could trust. If nothing else, Bee trusted him, and he was glad that his faith had proven to not be misplaced even to this day. Not that it stopped him from giving Deadlock a hard time about changing his name to something that would suit a fellow Autobot. Still, their shared history was all the more reason why he felt comfortable opening up to Deadlock about his current worries.
"I'm really not, Deadlock," Bee admitted. "I mean, Cybertron is our home. We shouldn't have to leave like this. We should be standing our ground and keep fighting."
Deadlock nodded in agreement, sharing Bee's feeling as well, but before he could say as much, Optimus approached them to provide his own thoughts on the matter. "Believe me, my friend, I understand how you feel. Leaving Cybertron is the hardest decision I've ever had to make," Optimus informed him. "But we have no other choice now. With so little energon left on the planet, it would only be a matter of days before we ran the planet completely dry, and our people to total extinction. Make no mistake though, we will fight on, but we must seek the means to do so first."
"Do you believe an unstable Space Bridge could be our best chance of acquiring those means though?" Deadlock asked on both his and Bee's behalf.
"Hot Rod's scouting team provided plenty of confirmation to assure us that the portal leads to the world where the AllSpark had landed, and that said world is rich with energy," Optimus reminded them. "Even if the former does prove false, we cannot allow Megatron to ravage another world as he has Cybertron, and if there is a chance this world has some pockets of energon hidden there, we need to go and see for ourselves. At this point, whatever world lies beyond that portal may very well be our best and last hope."
B-127 and Deadlock both relented upon hearing this, because they really could not offer any arguments to the matter. While it was still hard to know for sure if this was their best hope, Optimus was right in saying it could be their last, so for now, they would have to say goodbye to their home and promise to return one day when they could restore it, free from the Decepticons' wrath. Sadly, their goodbyes would not be as peaceful or smooth as anyone would like. Sure, the attack down on the surface just before launch could attest to that, but judging by the loud alarm klaxon now blaring throughout the ship, the Decepticons were determined to ensure it would remain that way to the very last nanocycle.
"Bad news 'Bots. We just detected an enemy ship closing on our position!" Chromia announced.
"Oh for Primus's sake! They just don't know when to quit!" Jazz could be heard grumbling.
Any other comments went unheard or unnoticed as a massive shadow suddenly fell over the Ark, prompting everyone to look up and see the Nemesis looming over them like a predator ready to pounce on its prey, and Optimus had a very good idea just who was likely in command of the massive, destructive warship. "Megatron," he growled before shouting new orders for the crew. "Brace for incoming enemy fire! All hands to combat!"
Muffled canon fire could see be heard all over the Ark as the three Autobots moved to their positions on the bridge, each only stopping to grab whatever weapons they felt were needed as they went. Good thing too, because the second they had reached their stations, several tow cables suddenly latched onto the Ark, jostling the ship about with every impact, but none more so than the one that came crashing through the canopy of the bridge. The standard safety features immediately kicked in to seal the breach, but they did not come fast enough to stop Decepticons from boarding the ship, and they were not strong enough to sever the tow cable now latched into the floor. Luckily both problems were easily dealt with, as Deadlock cut down two Decepticon troops at once with his blades, while B-127 eliminated the rest with his blaster, and Optimus severed the cable with a mighty swing of his trusted battle axe.
Once the bridge was cleared of enemy forces, Ratchet quickly set to work on attending to the wounded prompting Bee and Deadlock to rush over to and provide him with cover just in case. Luckily not too many Autobots had suffered any serious or life-threatening damage, but the reports that had started coming in from all over the ship did not inspire any confidence or feel-good attitudes. In fact, all those reports did was fill their sparks with dread, especially when someone reported seeing Megatron on the ship, right before he was cut off by an explosion typical of Megatron's fusion cannon. B-127 fully expected Optimus's optics to narrow in dangerous anger as they often did when Megatron appeared and attacked them, and was now waiting for the moment when Optimus ordered someone to cover the bridge while he went to confront his long-time foe. What he did not expect was for there to be more to the order than just the typical stuff.
"Jazz, stay here and cover the bridge. We must do everything we can to keep the Decepticons from taking the Ark," Optimus ordered his first lieutenant, and he then tapped his comm. device while turning to three specific 'Bots. "Windblade, meet me in the hangar bay at once. B-127, Deadlock, and Chromia, you're with me."
Though none were more confused than the 'Bots who had been called out, everyone was still surprised that Optimus had not chosen to move on Megatron's current location right away, but they trusted the last Prime had a plan of some kind, so they simply carried out their assigned tasks as ordered. Before long, the four had arrived in the hangar bay, and quickly took notice of Windblade slashing through the few Decepticons who had gotten inside before them. A powerful shockwave blast from the turbines on her wings allowed Windblade to send whatever Decepticons remained flying out the nearest door, and Optimus and Bee wasted little time in firing on their disoriented enemies before the door cut both sides off from one another. Seeing as they no longer had to worry about any immediate danger, the other four 'Bots all turned to Optimus so they could ask why he asked for them to come here, only for Optimus to preempt their question with an order they did not expect.
"Quickly. All four of you get aboard one of the shuttles and take off. Get to the portal as quickly as you can," Optimus ordered them.
"What?! You want us to abandon all of you while the ship's being taken by Megatron and the rest of the 'Cons?!" Bee demanded, and his outrage was shared by the other three as well.
"Optimus, sir, with all due respect, we're part of this crew just as much as any other Autobot on board. You can't ask us to leave you like this when we would rather stand and fight alongside of you," Windblade insisted.
"That is not what I am asking of you," Optimus assured them all. "Above all else, we need to ensure that the planet we are traveling to will be secured from any threat our enemies may pose, be it to the planet itself, its local life forms, or ourselves. Even if the AllSpark is not there, we will need this world to serve as a refuge for all Autobots, and if the Decepticons are indeed pulled there with us, there may be little hope for any of our survival."
"You say that as if you know more about this planet beyond what we've already learned," Deadlock noted aloud.
"Perhaps a little, but not too much," Optimus admitted, bringing his wrist up so that he could display a holo-image of the planet they would be traveling too. "It is indeed rich with energy and the most likely location of the AllSpark, but from what Perceptor and Wheeljack were able to determine it seems almost as though it is merely a remnant of what it had once been. I'm not saying that I doubt the capabilities of the people who live there, but if they are to truly stand any chance against the Decepticons until we arrive, you will need to travel there ahead of our ship, establish a base for us, and protect the planet."
All four 'Bots suddenly felt like a huge weight at least the size of Omega Supreme had just been dropped on their shoulders after Optimus had finished. Such a mission was no small feat, and if he had chosen someone like Ultra Magnus, Ironhide, or really anyone else who had been with the Autobots for longer or was just more experienced, they would not have argued. Instead, he had chosen the four of them; a Cityspeaker from Caminus, a former Decepticon swordsman, a two-wheeler medic who had only just finished her basic level training, and a small scout who had still not chosen a proper name for himself over the original designation he had received upon creation beyond a simple nickname. It was a very rag-tag team to be certain, but clearly Optimus knew something they did not, or just had more faith in them than any of them realized. Besides, the 'Cons were already trying to tear the ship apart, so it was not like they had the option of arguing about this for very long.
"We'll do our best to not let you down, Optimus," Bee promised.
"I know you won't, my friend, which is why I am placing you in command of this team," Optimus informed B-127. Before the scout could argue against this, Optimus insisted, "Out of all our friends and soldiers, you are by far the most faithful and steadfast of the Autobots, and everyone on this team knows and trusts you to some extent or another. It only makes sense if you were the one to lead." B-127 wanted to consider this for a little longer, but a sudden explosion rocking the ship showed the time for thinking was over and they all knew it. "Now go! Take off immediately!"
None of the four 'Bots argued, and immediately boarded the nearest shuttle. Once they were seated inside the cockpit, they all set to work firing up the engines, only paying a little notice to how Optimus moved clear of the hangar and sealed it shut. "B-127 to control," the newly designated leader of this surprise team called out. "Shuttle Alchemor ready to launch. Requesting clearance."
"Granted Alchemor," Optimus replied over the radios just seconds before the hangar doors started to open. "Good luck, soldiers. We'll buy you some time."
The four Autobots did not say anything in reply, choosing to focus on the shuttle's take-off and subsequent flight towards the portal. They did however spot several Autobots battling various Decepticon forces out in space and on the ship's deck as they flew past. They could see Jetfire severing as many tow cables as possible, Silverbolt and the rest of the lead Aerialbots engaging with Bruticus near the Ark's fuel lines after forming Superion, the Insecticons being forced out of the ship by Grimlock and his team, and eventually, Optimus engaging in battle with several Seekers and Soundwave all at once before meeting Megatron head-on.
Seeing their ship under siege while they simply flew away to parts unknown left them all feeling sick, but they had their orders, and they had to trust whatever plan Optimus had for both them and their brothers and sisters in the Autobots. So with heavy sparks, the team set their course for the vortex and flew in as fast as they could, just barely dodging stray weapons fire from both the Ark and the Nemesis as they went. If either side did notice, they were not able to do anything to stop them, because the Alchemor had made it through relatively unscathed. Now they just had to hope nothing would go wrong before they arrived at their destination.
Optimus had only stayed long enough to watch the Alchemor clear the hangar before he fully joined the rest of the Autobots in trying to kick the Decepticons off the Ark. No one failed to notice his arrival in the battle either, partly because he was Optimus Prime; it was hard to miss an Autobot like him. The rest of the reason probably had to do with how he had destroyed or just blasted several Decepticon soldiers as he made his way up from the hangar and onto the deck where he suspected he would find Megatron waiting for him. Still, he made sure that the rest of the crew knew that their main objective aside from protecting the ship was to make sure none of the Decepticons took notice of the Alchemor, but from the look of things, he did not really need to give such orders. With how intense the battle between the two ships had already become, it would have been a miracle if the 'Cons noticed anything other than the action happening on the Ark. At least, in the case of most Decepticons, because the others were still aware enough to refocus their attention on him once he was outside the ship.
"Ravage, eject," he heard Soundwave order, and Optimus spun around just in time to see the smaller 'Con jettison out from Soundwave's chest before transforming into its bestial mode.
Taking quick aim, Optimus did not hesitate in blasting at the Mini-Con, but Ravage was too quick on his feet, and managed to avoid all of Optimus's blasts, allowing him the perfect chance to pounce on the Prime. Optimus had to endure several rounds of Ravage scraping and clawing into his armor, but he managed to tough it out and bashed the Mini-Con off him in little time, and just to make sure Ravage stayed off him, Optimus slashed him with his energon battle axe as hard as he could. It did not destroy Ravage, but it certainly left him wounded enough for Soundwave to rush over to try and administer repairs mid-battle. Fortunately, Optimus knew just how long Soundwave would spend repairing his Mini-Cons when they were seriously damaged in a battle, so it was safe for him to retrieve his blaster and deal with the Seekers currently flying over to try their luck in beating him.
Never let it be said that most Seekers could be classified as being among the brightest of Decepticons, so it should be no surprise they would still attack a more powerful opponent in spite of the odds being stacked against them. Optimus managing to shoot down at least three before they had even landed on the deck only reinforced this point, along with how he then punch away another two with his free hand. The only reason he reactivated his battle axe was because of how many more Seekers suddenly landed around him after those first few. Well that, and he could feel that they were just the precursor to the real threat that had started approaching him. The sounds of a fusion cannon firing only proved his point, and he made quick work of any Seeker who dared to bar the path between him and his arch-foe. Sure, it may have been an action said foe was carrying out against his fellow Autobots, but at the very least, Optimus was not going for kill shots right away, unlike the Decepticon leader.
When Megatron finally turned to lay optics on Optimus, he grinned savagely and readied his energon mace in preparation for the coming duel, swinging it around on its chain a little to showcase his eagerness. "And so it comes to this once again, Prime," Megatron growled. "You and me, just as it always seems to be. The two leaders; the two titans of the Autobots and Decepticons, clashing in one epic battle."
"A battle that is unnecessary, Megatron," Optimus argued as he proceeded to circle his foe just as Megatron was him. "We both want the same thing: to find the AllSpark and restore Cybertron. There is no need for all this destruction and devastation."
"There is PLENTY of need for it! No one leaves Cybertron without my say so! I all but rule the entire planet now! Cybertron is a planet of Decepticons, and I will ensure it stays that way once I've located the AllSpark," Megatron roared.
"So you haven't given up on your plans to corrupt the AllSpark of its true purpose," Optimus questioned, though it really was more of a statement than anything. Regardless of how much he had hoped otherwise, deep down he knew Megatron would not give up on the insane scheme that prompted him to remove the AllSpark from Cybertron so long ago.
"Of course not," Megatron confirmed. "It is the only way Cybertron will ever know true peace again."
"Then you truly are lost beyond any hope of redemption," Optimus determined. "And I shall do what I must to stop you."
"You'll try and fail, Optimus," Megatron dismissed. "Your precious Ark is little more than a glorified cargo hauler, while my Nemesis is a true battleship. One that is currently tearing your ship apart in spite of yours and your Autobots' efforts. What can you really hope to achieve at this point?"
"Defeating you once and for all seems to be an excellent starting point," Optimus reasoned out for him. "But even if you destroy us here and now, Megatron, others will rise to defeat your tyranny."
"Then I'll just have to destroy every last one of you, and all the others who come after," Megatron promised, and with that he charged, swinging his mace at Optimus the second he was close enough.
Optimus managed to dodge the spiked energy ball, and went for a fast uppercut with his axe. He did not manage to score more than a passing glance of damage, but it was still enough to gain him some ground against Megatron, and he used that ground to smash his blaster into Megatron's front, making the warlord stumble long enough for Optimus to score a pair of serious hits with his battle axe. His third swing ended up being caught by Megatron, and allowed the Decepticon to retaliate in kind by pulling Optimus in for a shot to his gut followed by a hard swing of his mace. Optimus ended up taking the hit pretty hard, but the blow still set him free of Megatron's temporary hold, and he swiftly rolled back onto his feet again so he could retaliate by firing his blaster at Megatron as rapidly as he could. Most of Optimus's blasts ended up being deflected by Megatron's mace, and the few that did get through, he toughed out with only a slight amount of difficulty, and it was not long before the warlord had gotten close enough to land some more hits on Optimus.
"Ha! You're as soft as the weaklings you fight for!" Megatron mocked as he approached, but when he swung down, he found his mace being caught by Optimus's hand. Soon after, Megatron had his earlier move turned against him as Optimus pulled him in by his weapon to land a few blows of his own, only when Optimus allowed him to tumble away, he did not wait for Megatron to get up again. He aimed and fired his blaster at Megatron while he still held the momentum in this fight.
"On the contrary, my friends are the source of my strength," Optimus proudly declared.
Megatron was not one to indulge in such sentimental preaching's though. He cast off Optimus's words as quickly as he deactivated his mace so he could proceed to fire his fusion cannon unimpeded. Thankfully, Optimus managed to avoid being hit by the first few blasts of the cannon, and the rest were deflected by the energy shield he activated from his arm afterwards. Keeping the shield activated, Optimus swiftly charged forth and blocked a few more volleys until he was close enough to bash it into Megatron several times over. Using the momentum of his last hit, Optimus was able to bring his blaster up to bear and prepared to fire it at point-blank range, but Megatron managed to divert it at the last second and was soon retaliating against the Prime in kind. Unlike Megatron, Optimus had not been quick enough to divert his foe's weapon before it fired, but he did manage to activate his energy shield again so that he would be protected from the attack's full power, placing him in the perfect position surge forward and tackle Megatron right when the Decepticon leader was in the midst of charging him.
The two leaders rolled along the deck for a brief spell, each trying to ensure they would be the one who ended up on top of the other, until finally, Megatron ended up pinned beneath his old foe, giving Optimus the chance to bash his head into the ground several times over. Determined to see this ended once and for all, Optimus swiftly activated his battle axe again, and raised it high above his head for a finishing blow, but Megatron managed to recover just in time to shove him off with a hard elbow followed by a strong left. Optimus had stumbled back a short distance due to the sudden attack, but thankfully, Megatron was still recovering from Optimus's earlier brutality to retaliate right away, so they both ended up meeting each other's glares by the time they had both recovered.
"Not bad for a librarian," Megatron eventually brought himself to saying. "Perhaps you should have spent more time in the arena."
"And perhaps you should have spent more time in the library," Optimus retorted just barely ignoring the number of explosions erupting around them.
Megatron did not take that very well. "And end up as a pathetic little nothing like you?! Please! You were barely more than a file clerk when I found you, and you'll be less than dust when I'm done!"
"I've heard similar decrees like that from you many times over the course of this war, Megatron, and yet I still function," Optimus shot back, sounding just a little more confident than he was feeling. After all, he may have been able to ignore how his ship was being torn apart, but that did not mean he was completely oblivious to it. Frankly, he was a little worried if his ship would even still be in one piece by the time he was finished with Megatron, let alone by the time they reached the Space Bridge.
"This time will be different! I'll crush you with my bear hands if I have to!" Megatron roared angrily.
"Are you going to talk or fight, Megatron?" Optimus challenged, and with that, the two charged each other again, each of them priming their go-to melee weapons as they were going.
Their clash ended up unfinished, because at the very last second, a powerful explosion sent them both flying off their feet towards the back of the Ark, while the ship suddenly started spinning out of control. It was only when they managed to find a solid hold on the hull that they realized the Nemesis had fallen victim to the same problems, even with nearly all of its tow cables severed from the Ark, and there were not many explanations behind why the two ships had suddenly started careening out of control.
"What's happening?!" Megatron shouted over the explosions and powerful solar winds that had started raging around them.
Seeing what was happening to both ships and how close they were to the Space Bridge portal, Optimus quickly narrowed down the possibilities to just one answer. "The vortex is pulling both ships in and tearing them apart!"
Another explosion nearly caused Optimus to lose his hold on the ship, but Megatron was not so lucky. He ended up being blown backwards a short distance from Optimus, but there was just no way he was about to let something like this stop him from destroying the Autobots and their leader. He immediately started climbing back up towards Optimus using little more than his own strength and determination to carry him even as the gravitational pull of the vortex and the chaos of explosions and raging solar winds attempted to push them further apart in one direction or another. Megatron was a stubborn piece of work, but nature was just as stubborn, and more often than not even more powerful, and every step Megatron grew closer to Optimus, the forces pushing against him grew stronger or found some way to divert or block his path.
"NO!" Megatron roared as loudly as he could, refusing to give in. "I WILL NOT BE DENIED!"
He kept true to his word, as Optimus soon felt something grabbing him by his foot, and turned down to see Megatron holding on to him. Whether it was Megatron's desperate attempt to pull himself to safety or drag Optimus down with him was hard to really say for sure, but Optimus did not intend to take any risks with Megatron this time around. Instead, he merely glared down at Megatron and shouted, "Megatron…BE GONE!"
The next thing Megatron knew, Optimus had kicked him off with his free leg, sending him hurtling off both the Prime and the Ark as he let his fury over this defeat known with a single shout of, "OPTIMUS PRIME!"
Somehow, even after seeing Megatron and his ship vanish into the vortex, Optimus knew this would not be the last they had seen of the Decepticons and their leader, but right now, he needed to focus on getting back inside the Ark before he ended up pulled in too. His climb to the nearest airlock proved to be far slower than Megatron's ascent towards him, as the vortex's gravitational pull and solar winds were proving stronger than ever, and in the end, Optimus could not hold his grip. Unlike Megatron though, Optimus had someone come to his rescue before he fell all the way into the vortex, and his rescuer went by the name of Superion.
"Easy there, Optimus. Can't have you joining the Well of All Sparks just yet," the Aerialbot combiner quipped as he pulled Optimus up in his large arm.
"Thank you, Superion," Optimus nodded. "Can you get us to the bridge?"
"Only one way to find out," Superion stated, and he quickly activated his thrusters to push them both towards their destination.
It took a couple of jumps and a bit more power to said thrusters than Superion would have liked, but he did manage to at least get Optimus up to a point where he could get inside the Ark, and from there to the bridge. Once he was on the bridge, Jazz immediately caught his attention as he helped Optimus to his place in the captain's seat. "You've got some pretty amazing timing, Optimus," Jazz told his old friend. "It looks like the vortex is intent on finishing the job the 'Cons started by tearing the ship apart completely."
"And what of the Nemesis? I lost sight of it and Megatron in the chaos while I was trying to get back inside," Optimus requested.
"Completely gone. Not sure if they went through the vortex or if they just got turned to space dust, but right now, we're not in the best position to really check," Jazz shrugged as best he could.
Optimus would have to take that for now as he tapped the controls for ship-wide communications and gave a new set of orders, "All hands, brace yourselves however you can! We're about to enter the Space Bridge portal now!"
Hearing that order, the Autobots all move to either hold on to the nearest secured surface or strap themselves down in whatever way they could, while the Ark's helmsman, Sideswipe merely did his best to redirect the ship so that it would not be spinning around wildly when it went in. An instant later, the Ark had disappeared into the vortex, and the Space Bridge vanished behind it immediately after, having fulfilled its duty in sending the Cybertronian crafts to some other part of the galaxy far, far away from Cybertron. When the Ark next appeared in normal space, it was right where the Autobots had intended to go, just as Optimus had predicted, but something about it felt off to the last Prime. There was no sign of the Nemesis at all, and even fewer signs of the Alchemor from what he could see.
"Status report," Optimus requested.
"On the ship or in general?" Jazz asked, because judging by the way the Ark was still shaking while various controls were sparking wildly, he did not think Optimus would like either report.
"Both," Optimus insisted. Regardless of how good or bad the news may have been he needed to hear it.
"Well, I'll start with the latter," Perceptor stated from over at his station. "The good news is that we made it to our intended destination. The bad news however, is that we're here a few million years early."
"Say what?" Jazz asked, voicing Optimus's thoughts perfectly.
"Exactly what I said. We've been sent several million years into the past. Or at least, several million years by the standards of this world," Perceptor replied. The silence that followed his report was enough for him to know he would need to elaborate a bit more than that. "We all knew that the Space Bridge we just traveled through was unstable, but what we didn't realize was that it was warping objects across space and time. We are in fact at the world the AllSpark had landed, but we're here much earlier than the moment when it landed."
"And the Nemesis? Has it landed around the same point in time as we have?" Optimus asked.
"Hard to say for certain," Perceptor shrugged. "For all I know, it could have arrived before we did, or it may not even be here for any calculable amount of time."
"Well I think we should be a little more concerned with how much time we have right now, because the Ark's not holding up so great," Sideswipe interrupted, bringing everyone's attention to him. "Our little joyride through the Space Bridge, coupled with the damage we sustained during the battle with the 'Cons has left the Ark seriously damaged, and unfortunately, it's also made it so that we're on a collision course with the planet ahead of us."
"Can you correct our course at all?" Optimus asked.
"I'm already trying, but it's looking like it'll be no good!" Sideswipe reported, his fingers working whatever controls he could in an attempt to adjust the Ark's flight path to something more favorable. "We're going to crash down, Optimus, and the most any of us can do at this point is try and aim the ship somewhere that might reduce the damage to both us and the planet."
Optimus sat back in his seat, processing all this information, before he finally came to the only conclusion he could think of that would help them in this situation. "Sideswipe, do what you can to bring the ship onto a course that will ensure it sustains as little damage as possible while avoiding any life forms or civilizations on the planet below," Optimus ordered, barely registering Sideswipe's acknowledgement of his orders before making a ship-wide announcement. "All hands, this is Optimus Prime. The ship is about to crash land on the planet we were headed for, and there is very little we can do to avert this. Since we are likely running much lower on energon than before when we left Cybertron, all Autobots are to enter their assigned stasis pods and go into stasis to conserve energon while the ship runs on low power mode for the foreseeable future."
When they heard that, everyone on the bridge other than Sideswipe, who had to concentrate on what he was doing to direct the ship's crash landing, turned to face Optimus with disbelieving looks. "Optimus, is that really a good idea?" Jazz asked. "If we all go into stasis with the ship on low-power mode, we may not be able to wake up when the AllSpark does land on this rock, or even know when the 'Cons land here."
"Not to mention if the 'Cons find us while we're like that, we'll be easy, defenseless targets," Ratchet pointed out.
"I am aware, old friends, but with so little energon, we don't have the option of just sitting and waiting for either of their arrivals, assuming the Decepticons are not in the same state as we are," Optimus pointed out. Before anyone could add additional protests, he finally offered up a reason for assurance. "Do not worry my friends. B-127 and his team were sent out ahead of us. With any luck, they will land at some point after the AllSpark has and will find a way to locate us before the Decepticons can."
"But how do you know for sure that they'll know about our situation?" Ratchet inquired. "After all, Chromia would be the only one capable of awakening us from stasis without extensive assistance from Teletran One, and they won't be able to know anything about our situation just from going off their knowledge as to what happened prior to the Alchemor's departure."
"Which is one reason why I will be entering stasis last," Optimus revealed much to everyone's surprise. "Along with ensuring the Ark remains on the course Sideswipe is setting for us, I will be sending out an on-going transmission only detectable on specific Autobot frequencies. Hopefully, the message will reach B-127 and his team without being intercepted by the Decepticons. Afterwards, all we can do is hope. Now go. All of you get to the stasis pods. That's an order."
The Autobots all reluctantly acknowledged Optimus's orders and proceeded to their stasis pods at once. Some of them did so much more reluctantly, while others did not hesitate to voice their displeasure over this course of action to any who would listen, Grimlock being chief amongst the latter. Regardless of how anyone felt, they all knew and understood the reasons for Optimus to give this order, and before long, the last Prime was the only Autobot left awake on the ship, seated bravely on the bridge of the Ark as he watched the planet ahead come closer and closer. Not that it was a bad view to have before going into stasis. The planet was actually quite beautiful, even beneath the glow of its sun and the shattered moon orbiting it. Optimus idly wondered for a brief spell how the moon had ended up the way it was, but he put it aside a mystery for another time. Right now, he had more important matters to deal with.
Tapping the controls on the armrest of his captain's seat, Optimus began recording the message he would leave for the advance team, all while doing his best to keep the Ark on course. "B-127, I pray this message finds you and your team in time…"
Unknown to any of the Autobots aboard the Ark, down on the planet's surface, a lone woman was currently sitting outside on the porch of her rather run-down looking house, gazing up at the night sky with a dark scowl, cursing the gods of her world for the…well, she had lost count of how many times she had cursed the brother gods over the endless centuries she was now forced to live through. She had spent so much of that time alone, both before her decision to dive into the pools of darkness which spawned the Creatures of Grimm and after, and even after humanity began its slow rebirth, albeit with both regular humans and ones who had animal features that she had heard folks were calling Faunus, she preferred to spend her time alone. After all, there was only one person she ever truly cared for, and he was now gone forever, torn from her life by the very brother gods who had cursed her with this dreadful immortality. Not that anyone ever dared to disturb her, of course, what with all the rumors about her being a dreadful witch and all, but again, she did not really care.
It was during this latest round of scowling and cursing that she took notice of a particular shooting star that seemed to grow bigger and bigger, as if it were drawing closer, and she went from scowling to looking upwards with wondrous intrigue as she stood up to watch this shooting star a little closer. Sadly, she eventually lost sight of the star as it hurtled to some other destination far from her home, but she still traced its path with her eyes, amazed by the sight of it all the same. As she continued to stare after where the star had vanished, the woman was reminded of a similar moment she had encountered so many centuries ago in her more innocent youth, when she and her lover had explored the lands, content so long as they were together.
"It seems so much like the star that fell back then," the deathly pallor skinned woman with long, pale white hair and blood red eyes with jet black sclera pondered. "Is it possible that the two came from the same place? What would you think, my dear Ozma?"
Silence was the only answer provided to the woman named Salem, at least for the time being, but it would not be long before she did in fact reunite with her lost love, and a new, much darker chapter of their lives would begin, changing the course of history for this world at large for many ages to come. All the while, neither of them would ever know of the great ships that had crashed down on their world for some time, or even of the message sent out by the captain of the one Salem had unknowingly seen that night. A message that would not be received for many years, but whose final words still quietly echoed as the sender fell deep into stasis in his seat on the bridge. "…Stay strong, soldiers. I and the others are here, and we will be waiting. Till all are one."
AN: Well, how's that for an opening, huh? Not bad, right? Yeah, I know, I might've gone a little overboard with Optimus's big moments and scenes, but like I said, today, we're celebrating the man who gave our favorite Autobot leader his voice, so why wouldn't I place a lot of emphasis and try to go all out on making Optimus have the coolest scenes? Not that I need to try too hard. I mean, it's Optimus Prime! Anything and everything that has him in it is automatically gonna be great.
Optimus: Ahem. [shows a poster for Transformers Dark of the Moon]
AN:...Okay, so there may be one or two exceptions, but for the most part.
Bumblebee: Am I the only who feels like there seemed to be a lot of influence from my solo movie in here?
AN: I'd be a little disappointed if you were the only one, considering this used a mix of both that movie and the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron video games. I mean, Bumblebee has to be THE best Transformers movie to date, without question. I mean, that was the Transformers live-action movie we have long since deserved and been asking to get for so long! Anyways, there's a reason why Bee and Deadlock are going by their original names for the moment, and I'm sure some of you have already figured out said reason, but please, try to keep it to yourself for now. Oh, who am I kidding? It's probably obvious to everyone and their grandma. But anyways, expect some additional influence from the Bumblebee movie in here, only with more Autobots and a bit more action from the 'Cons as well, probably. And while I was content to let us see the Ark crash-landing on Remnant at the end there, I felt that I had to include at least one scene that made it clear they were landing on Remnant, so that's why I had the last scene start off the way it did before the epic send-off line from Optimus.
Anyways, as I said at the start, this story is only the beginning of Transformers Remnant, and if you'll notice the title says Volume 0, there is a reason for that. This is technically a prologue story to the main series, and explains a little bit about how the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons came to Remnant, and brought in the heroes of, as Qrow put it, the best team to graduate from Beacon: good ol' Team STRQ. So, expect a little bit of what I'd like to think things were like back before Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and Blake were born; when Summer, Tai, Raven, and Qrow were young, kicking butt, and before all the...drama, for lack of a better word.
Qrow: [looking pretty grumpy, yet kind of sad] I can think of other words to use, but I don't think you want me to say them.
AN: [turns to stare at Qrow before looking to the other person in the room] What's his problem?
Taiyang: Oh, he's still a little upset about something from Volume 8.
AN: Only one thing?
Taiyang: I meant besides the obvious stuff.
AN: That being...?
Qrow: I never got to punch Ironwood.
AN: Oh yeah, that. Gotta be honest, I was a little disappointed Qrow didn't get to at least do that, myself. I mean, the guy's at least hit everyone who's betrayed him in one form or fashion so far in RWBY. He fought Leonardo back when he was revealed to be a traitor, he punched Ozpin after finding out the truth of his history with Salem, and he battled it out with Clover when he decided to follow Ironwood's orders instead of doing something that could actually, you know, help the people of Mantle, and those are just the examples I can think of off the top of my head. Plus, I was fully expecting Qrow and Ironwood to come to blows at some point in Volume 8, and yet it never happened. I don't think they ever even talked to each other in Volume 8.
Okay, so now that I've got that rant over and out there, there's...actually not anything else I can really say right now. I mean, if you've read the series preview for this series back in RWBY Meetings, you probably already know a good deal of the details. But I'll go ahead and at least mention that the Autobots and Decepticons' designs are most heavily based on the ones they had in Transformers Cyberverse, but the way they are structured is similar to that of G1 in many ways. Like for example, Grimlock and the Dinobots, when they show up, would still be able to talk like normal when in robot mode, but in Dino-mode, he reverts to the old "Me, Grimlock..." style of speech he and the Dinobots are known for. Anything more than that, you'll just have to wait and discover as we go forward in the story.
Now, I think that's everything. Unless of course, anyone wants to see what I have in mind for one possible theme song this series would have. At least this story's version of it.
Summer: [suddenly pops in via Semblance and accompanying white rose petals, startling AN] Yes! Yes please! Let's see it!
AN: [coughing up some rose petals that accidentally got in his mouth] Yep. Like mother, like daughter definitely applies to you and Ruby. Alright, roll it!

...I know, it's probably a little sloppy, but I think it works pretty well here. I'll admit, I did change a couple lyrics here and there so that it would fit with this story a little better, but I did say earlier that this was this story's version of the song.
Summer: I liked it.
Taiyang: Me too.
Qrow: [smiling a little more] It made me feel a little better, actually.
STQ: [all turn to their final teammate, almost as if daring her to say anything bad]
Raven: [just stares at everyone before eventually sighing reluctantly] Okay, I guess it wasn't terrible.
AN: Glad it meets your approval. [the sarcasm is only directed towards Raven. The comment is genuine towards the others] Well, I'd say that's a wrap, and in case it's not clear, next time we'll be getting a little more into actual crossover territory with things. But why talk about it like this when you could see for yourself by moving Onto the Preview!...
We fast forward to a time a little closer to Remnant present day, namely to the moment when B-127 and his team finally arrive on the planet. Their scans do indicate that the AllSpark is somewhere on this planet, but their immediate concerns are not on the ancient artifact needed to restore their home. No, that honor goes to a squad of soldiers that had actually been deployed in the area where their ship had been forced to land. How are the four Autobots going to get out of this new mess they've crashed into? Looks like this will be Bee's first test as a leader, next time in…Chapter 2: First Contact Could be Better.
Yeah, I think some of you have some ideas of who may or may not be showing up with those soldiers next chapter already, but for now, you'll just have to wait and see what will actually happen.
