All across Vermilion City, the power was acting up.
"Keep calm, everyone," said Officer Jenny as she drove through the streets while speaking through her car's speakers.
"We are currently working on the issue and power should be repaired shortly so remain calm and stay indoors," she said. Meanwhile, at the power station, several scientists were working hard.
"I just don't get it, there's no sign of a problem with the system," said a scientist who was working at a computer.
"Wait, something is happening!" said another scientist as the screen turned blue.
"Ro, Rotom, Ro!" screamed the little Pokemon while trying to escape the computer but it was like something was holding him back.
"Nice try," said a voice as a gloved hand reached through the screen to grab the Pokemon.
"But there is no escaping me," said the voice as something fully pulled itself free of the computer screen, stepping out into the room which shocked the scientists enough to fall to the ground.
"Who or what are you?!" asked one of the scientists who were trembling on the ground.
"I am Myotismon, the new ruler of this world," said the vampire Digimon as he held onto Rotom. At the same time, Ash Ketchum was rushing to the plant.
"Let's step it up buddy, Professor Oak needs us to deliver this part to the power plant to help the city," said Ash while holding a cylinder of blue glass.
"Pika!" said Pikachu who was running beside him. Suddenly, a beam of black light shot out from the power station.
"What is that?!" asked Ash as he stopped in his tracks.
"Pika, Pika, Pikachu," said the small electric mouse.
"You're right buddy, people could be in trouble so let get over there right away," said Ash before they continued on their way.
