Kingdom Hearts: The Dalmatian Bodyguard
Chapter 15: Stubborn Old Goat
Everyone woke up later when the automated Morning alarm sounded.
Goofy: Dolly, I'm cooking bacon & eggs.
Dolly: Just give me a minute.
Dolly waited for Goofy to leave to reveal her playing with her Dalmatian plushie. She dressed him in a small suit and gave him a tiny dog collar.
Dolly: I'll name you Daryl.
Dolly placed Daryl on her hammock, fed Windsor his food pellets, and walked into the Main Hold for breakfast. Everyone was eating well until Beezee wheeled in.
Donald: Did we arrive at the next world already?
Beezee said yes to Donald's question.
Sora: Let's finish eating first.
Everyone agreed it was best to finish breakfast before heading to the next world. After breakfast, they went to see what was the next. As far as the computer showed, it was a large stone arena above some clouds. This was Olympus Coliseum.
Sora: This seems like an interesting place.
Everyone agreed it looked interesting. After Donald set the Ebon Hawk down to land, the Squad walked inside and were amazed.
Dolly: Wow, this is incredible.
Sparky said in amazement that this was spectacular. Everyone went inside what looked like an arena. They found a short and slightly portly satyr. This was Phil, trainer of heroes.
Sora: Um…
Phil: Good timing. Give me a hand, will ya? (Pointing) Move that pedestal over there for me. I gotta spruce this place up for the games.
Dolly shrugged her shoulders and tried to, but it was impossible.
Dolly: It's too heavy.
Phil: Too heavy? Since when is anything too heavy? (Turning around) And what's up with your… (Seeing Hawk Squadron) Oh. Wrong guy. What're all you doing here? (Jumping down) This here's the world-famous Coliseum… (Walking up to Donald toughly and causing to Donald to back up) And I got my hands full preparing for the games. (Everyone getting frustrated with Phil) So run along, pip-squeaks. (Phil calms down a bit) Look, it's like this. (Walking up to the pedestal) Heroes are coming from all over to fight ferocious monsters right here in the Coliseum.
Donald, Dolly, and Sparky felt very annoyed.
Donald: You got heroes right in front of you.
Dolly: We're strong enough to put up a fight.
Sparky: Ih.
Goofy: (Putting his hands on Sora and Dolly) Yup. Sora is chosen by the Keyblade and Dolly is his bodyguard.
Donald: And we're the brave men of Hawk Squadron.
Phil: Heroes? These runts?
Phil laughed hard at the thought, making Sora and Dolly feel insulted.
Sora: What's so funny? I've fought a bunch of monsters!
Dolly: (Putting Yubashiri on her right shoulder) We can handle ourselves in a fight.
Phil started calming down and got serious.
Phil: (Trying to move the pedestal) Hey, if you can't even move this…
Everyone enjoyed the satyr fail at his own standards.
Phil: You can't call yourselves…
Everyone looked at each other, silently agreeing he wasn't gonna move that.
Phil: (Quitting) A hero!
Stone: You can't even do your own standards.
Phil: (Getting up) Okay, so it takes more than brawn. Well, let's see what you six can do.
Phil led them to the training course where hundreds of barrels were.
Phil: Here's how this'll work: Each of you break as many of these barrels as possible. Slice them, burn them, crush them… I don't care. Just show me what you six are skilled in.
Sora: Ok, that's simple.
Sora rushed forward with the others behind as Phil monitored their abilities.
Phil: (Seeing Sora break one barrel after another) Lack of physical strength but has plenty of spirit. (Looking at Dolly's performance) Plenty of speed and great reflexes. (Seeing Goofy fumble around) Not very well-balanced but very adaptive to his disability. (Watching Stone shoot barrels perfectly with his DC-17 hand blasters) Great marksman skill, almost worthy of the twin archers. (Seeing Donald preform spell) Good usage of sorcery. (Seeing Sparky speed around like a bullet) Elemental energy control.
Pretty soon, the group were finished and came up to Phil.
Phil: Okay, so many of you six have raw potential and some decent skills.
Sora: (Smugly putting his hands behind his back) Looks like we're going to the games.
Phil: Afraid not. (Surprising the Squad) Two words: You. Guys. Ain't. Heroes.
Everyone looked disappointed, except for Goofy who was counting real number of words Phil said.
