First Squad had arrived on the beach where the Sailor Brothers and Samo the Whale were waiting far out from the shores due to Samo's massive body would have gotten washed up. After a quick briefing with the Commander Apetruly about the mission, First Squad rode atop their turtles on the water and made their way into the big blue whale's mouth where they'd ride out their journey. As they left, Commander Apetruly shouted from the shoreline, "Be careful out there, First Squad, and good luck!"
Hours passed out on the sea before they arrived at the spot where the human ship had sunk, but there was no island in sight for miles. Only more of the open ocean stretched out beyond the horizon as First Squad stood atop Samo's head looking in all directions for any sign of their destination. The Sailor Brothers peered through the telescopes up in the cabin that was strapped to Samo's back. After a few minutes they realized this was a futile effort.
"Um, are you guys sure we're at the right place?" Mighty Ray asked.
"No…island?" Jumpy added in.
"This doesn't make any sense. Commander Apetruly said that the letter informed of this specific location at sea, and that the island was not far from where the crew ship sank." Mr. No-Hands said.
"Perhaps we will find some answers if we inspect the ship itself," Lin Chung said. "Samo, get ready to dive."
First Squad jumped back down to the inside of Samo's mouth through his blowhole, and then the big blue whale dove underwater. The ship wasn't too far down, laying wrecked on the ocean floor with holes all over the boat and parts missing. Samo swam up next to the sunken vessel, and First Squad popped back out through his blowhole, riding their turtles, and Lin Chung had summoned his Harmonic Energy to serve as helmets in order to sustain oxygen. They swam up and boarded onto the ship's deck that was all smashed, but after around thirty minutes of searching throughout, on deck and below, they came up empty-handed.
Returning to the surface, they decided they needed a quick break. Back to standing on top of Samo's head, while the others discussed what to do next, Lin Chung balanced on his staff and began to meditate when he suddenly heard voices. He didn't think much of it until he realized he had tapped into the Harmonic Energy and the voices were somehow calling out to him for help. His eyes opened fast and he gasped, he got down from his staff but that was when the voices stopped. He looked all around only to be met with the vast sea at sunset.
Mystique Sonia noticed their leader's abrupt distress and asked, "Is something wrong, Lin Chung?"
"I…thought I heard people calling for help." He said.
"Are you kidding me?" Mighty Ray asked in an irritated tone. "There's no one out here but us. And quite frankly, I'm getting sick of it."
"You sure you're not just imagining it, soldier?" Mr. No-Hands said. "We have been out here for a while now, and I've seen the sea take a toll on—"
"No, it's like I…" Lin Chung interrupted, but he didn't know where he was going with it, so he stopped where he began. Besides, maybe the stress was just getting to him a little bit. "Uh, never mind."
Shortly after, First Squad came to the conclusion that they should keep looking for the island and the castaway humans still stranded there over going back to Big Green. They were never one for leaving their missions incomplete.
Three days later, Samo was still swimming out on the surface of the open ocean with First Squad riding in his mouth. Their mission to find this mysterious island was proving to be one of their most difficult tasks, for no matter where they went, it felt like they were only getting further away from their objective. The warriors were becoming more bored and impatient, and their supplies had dwindled down to them eating Sonia's buns. But they weren't ready to give up yet.
It was their fourth afternoon at sea. While Mr. No-Hands spoke with the Sailor Brothers in the cabin, Jumpy, Sonia, and Mighty Ray continued to hang out inside the whale's massive mouth. Meanwhile, Lin Chung had decided to meditate again on Samo's back, just to get some peace and quiet from Mystique Sonia's and Mighty Ray's constant arguing.
He felt a tightening clench wrap around inside his chest when he heard the voices again. They were shrieking with more fear this time, and he couldn't ignore them. Moreover, he heard them coming towards the left half of the sea. He looked in that direction to find more ocean, but a gut feeling told him he could not and would not deny there was something out in that direction.
He walked up to the front of Samo's topside, and he summoned the Harmonic Energy, which encased its glowing purple energy around his entire body and allowed him to hear the voices more clearly.
"Help! Somebody help us! We need help!"
Lin Chung's eyes jerked opened again, and he told the big blue whale, "Samo, go left! Quickly!"
Samo was confused at first, but he soon heeded the order obediently. The whale made a sharp left turn, which shook things up and knocked around the other members of First Squad as well as the Sailor Brothers. They smacked against the inner cabin walls and against Samo's massive pearly whites.
Mr. No-Hands flew out a window from the cabin with his ponytail propelling like helicopter blades, looking in all directions till he spotted Lin Chung at the forefront of Samo's head, surrounded by Harmonic Energy, and he rapidly made his way towards the Squad's leader.
"Lin Chung, what is going on?!" Mr. No-Hands asked.
But Lin Chung was still listening to the cries of the ones begging for help, which were now coming from the right. "Go right now, Samo!"
Samo obeyed again and turned right and swam further in that direction. At that point Jumpy, Mystique Sonia, and Mighty Ray popped up to the surface through Samo's blowhole with angry looks on their faces until they saw their friend seemingly in a trance and glowing with Harmonic Energy.
"What's Lin Chung doing?" Mystique Sonia asked.
"You got me," Mr. No-Hands replied, "It's almost like he's hypnotized."
"Well could someone tell him to not make Samo turn so hard and make us crash into stuff?!" Mighty Ray said to the others before he turned to their leader. "Hey, Lin Chung, you mind telling us where you're taking us?!"
He put on hand on Lin Chung's shoulder and it made the Harmonic Energy spread to Mighty Ray, which evidently caused him to be able to hear the same cries for help Lin Chung was hearing. He stumbled backwards, his eyes spinning, till Yaksha caught him by his arms as he collapsed onto his butt.
"Mighty Ray, what happened?" Mr. No-Hands asked the round warrior.
Mighty Ray put one hand to his head suffering from a migraine and said, "Eh, I'm not sure, but I think Lin Chung's purple power is like…guiding us towards the missing humans. And the island, maybe?"
The others looked back at Lin Chung who gave Samo one final direction to go in, "One more left turn, Samo!"
And as Samo did so, out in the distance straight ahead of them was a massive storm surge heading their way.
"There's a huge, deadly storm ahead!" One of the Sailor Brothers warned First Squad. "We must go underwater to avoid it!"
They gasped. Mystique Sonia then called out, "Lin Chung! We have to go inside now!"
He didn't hear her. Yaksha's pink arms stretched out and grabbed Lin Chung to pull him into the safety as they and the rest of First Squad jumped down through Samo's blowhole to prepare for the diving.
As they went under, the Harmonic Energy died down and Lin Chung felt so sleepy as he had exhausted most of his strength. He couldn't stand, and the others realized this. Mystique Sonia knelt and continued to hold onto their leader as the others stood over him.
Mighty Ray asked him, "Hey, Lin Chung, you alright?"
But to Lin Chung, he sounded like he was underwater and far, far away with his voice echoing. His vision was also starting to blur, and he could barely keep his eyes open.
Just then, out in the sea water, something so powerful knocked Samo from the outside that the whale was pushed to one side and it jostled the First Squad members around like they were ragdolls.
"Oh, what now?" Mighty Ray said once they had settled back onto Samo's tongue.
A Sailor Brother then shouted down to the Squad, "Something huge just hit Samo! It came out of nowhere, it's a…an underwater tornado!"
In front of Samo was just that: a tornado spinning underwater, and it wasn't alone. There soon came four more identical freak forces of nature, and they surrounded Samo. "Uh-oh!" the big blue whale said in his deep voice.
These tornadoes began turning in a counterclockwise motion around Samo, and one by one, they began knocking the whale around more and more.
"The underwater tornadoes appear to be attacking Samo directly! It's as though they have intelligence!" a Sailor Brother shouted as he looked through a telescope out into the underwater landscape.
"What do…we do?" Jumpy asked.
"We have no other choice. Samo, go back up to the surface! We'll ride out the storm up there." Mr. No-Hands said aloud.
As soon as they found an opening, Samo swam away from the underwater tornadoes and began heading upward, but the tornadoes followed him. They made it to the surface, and as the whale popped his head up above the water, lightning struck the water in three separate places mere inches away from touching Samo's face. This scared the big blue whale that he started swimming forward fast, but he was stopped by the underwater tornadoes quickly popping up from below and blocking his path. Samo screamed, and as his mouth opened, First Squad was able to see what had frightened their big whale friend.
"Okay, is it just me, or did the underwater tornadoes just become hurricanes?" Mystique Sonia asked.
Lightning struck again, and the hurricanes looked like they had evil glowing yellow eyes staring at them as the light hit.
"Hurricances? Tornadoes? Whatever they are, they look really mad at us!" Mighty Ray said.
The hurricanes again surrounded Samo, trapping him, First Squad, and the Sailor Brothers in an even bigger storm surge. They got caught in the eye of the storm, ensnared by violent winds whipping in circles. Suddenly, even with his massive weight, Samo's body was lifted into the air by these winds. He began swirling around in a clockwise motion, and First Squad got even more jostled and tossed around, screaming and bumping into each other, till they each hit their heads against the top of the inside of Samo's mouth, making them all fall unconscious.
