Cynthia's mind had dreamt elsewhere in her sleep, with once again most of it being completely forgotten on the details and bits. But it all soon came clear.

She didn't know how, but she had found herself standing in the dining saloon. Funny, it had almost felt like she had been there before.

Except all of the table and chairs were gone, and in their places was people dancing.

But it wasn't just first class as Cynthia could see several of the dancer's were from second and first class.

They were all dressed nicely as several pairs of partners danced around the room, as not to far by the first class musicians were playing a soft tune.

Cynthia's eyes glanced down at herself and she found that she had been dressed for the occasion, she wore this beautiful blue evening dress which just about reached her feet with blue gems along the bodice and netted sleeves. Her hair had been put up half and and half down.

She smiled as she took a few steps along, not quite moving towards the dancers. Her eyes are fixed on them though as they dance graciously. Her eyes are so busy looking at them, she finds her body come into contact with something hard, and something living.

"Oh, I'm sorry I-" She started but as she pulled away she knew exactly who it was she'd bumped into.

Jack stared at her, a smile appear, wearing practically the same outfit he'd worn to the party; the third class one.

"Jack," Her voice come almost a hushed whisper, a breath.

"Thought you'd be here," There was something about his voice that made Cynthia feel flushed in the face. He then glances over at the dancers, "I'd supposed you'd be alright in joining me out there?"

"Huh?"

"Dancing."

"Oh… ummm, yeah…"

Jack then held out his hand and Cynthia gently took it as Jack led them to the dance floor with the others. He stood right in front of her, much like he had done with Rose at the party, clasping on hand up to the side of the both of the and his other hand gently on her hip, his fingers caressing her waist.

She stared at him, almost with awe as they began to sway along to the music, turning and gliding along the dance floor.

Jack didn't take his eyes off her, still having that signature smile as she gave her a twil over his arm.

Cynthia let out a giggle, smiling as she did showing her teeth. There was something about this all that felt almost fairy-tale like.

Jack gave her another smile, this time the two of them passed a pillar and everything went into a blur as Jack caught her spin.

Except now it wasn't Jack anymore.

Cynthia didn't know when, but now the person standing, their hands holding her close to her waist was Rose.

Her hair was being held by a golden clip and she wore a green dress which had silver butterflies embellished along the skirt. She looked at Cynthia with such warmness, such lovingness as she pulled Cynthia towards her as she spun the both of them around the dance floor.

"Rose," Cynthia says gently, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion as Rose just lets as an airy chuckle.

"Nice to see you too, Cynthia."

"But I was just-"

"It's all right, Just focus on me," Rose smiled and Cynthia just nodded, her face becoming more flushed as they danced.

The music began to slow a bit, not enough that it was the end of the song, but just to give a new tempo. That reflected their dancing as Rose and Cynthia just swayed, Rose holding Cynthia's hand in front of them, Rose's fingers gently caressing Cynthia's.

She couldn't help but feel her face reddened, this was not even close to how they'd been dancing in third class.

As they kept going, Cynthia felt Rose's hed rest gently on Cynthia's shoulder. She felt herself stiffen for a second, but it only lasted that long and felt herself relax, almost leaning her head alongside Rose.

They stay ther for a little bit longer, until the temp changes back again and soon they find themselves winging and twirling along the dance floor.

At one point, Cynthia feels Rose's hands move up to her waist and she barely has any time to react as Rose lifts her up into the air. She lets out a squeal as Rose spins her before plopping her back down. She's laughing all the way and so is Rose, her hands pulling Cynthia close as they dance, her fingers caressing Cynthia's cheeks.

They stay there for a moment, but it soon fades again as Rose gives her a twil, as they both pass by some of the dancers, and just as quickly as they passed, Rose was gone and replaced with Jack. Cynthia blinked confused as Jack continued to dance with her, as if he hadn't just disappeared just a few minutes ago.

It continues on lie that for a bit. First Jack would dance with her for some time, and just when they pass something, suddenly Rose will take his place. And this will go n, back and fourth, sometimes Jack wouldlead, and other's Rose would lead.

All in all, it had made Cynthia's head spin as Cynthia now once again found herself dancing with Rose. Her hand was still gently holding her waist as the musician's orchestra seemed to be ending it's conclusion.

As Rose twiled Cynthia one last time, she looked right into her eyes, placing both of her hands on Cynthia's shoulders.

"You ok?" Cynthia found herself asking. Rose just had this look in her eyes, almost adoring in a way that Cynthia couldn't help but feel warm at as she right before her eyes suddenly becomes Jack. He still has that same smile that Rose was giving her as his hands move from her shoulders down to her waist, pulling her in.

Her face feels like a furnace as she sees Jack once again change into Rose, her lips pucking up as brings Cynthia's face closer. Her lips open slightly, not even sure what she's doing as she waits for whatever contact is about to come.

And then…

Cynthia's eyes fluttered open, and shot around the room for a few seconds. Everything still looked hay as she just laid there for a moment longer, then she sat up, rubbing one hand across her face.

What was that dream about? She thought, her mind casting back, I was dancing with Jack, but also Rose… We kept doing that, and then…

Cynthia's face slowly turned red as she remembered and put one hand on her mouth.

Why did it end like that? Why? What was going to happen?

Of course she knew the answer to the last one, but she didn't want to admit it.

"No it's nothing.. It's just a friendly dream, just a dream with friends," She assured herself.

Liar.

The voice that wasn't her came again through her head and Cynthia frowned. She knew it was Maybelle somehow, but just shook her head. She would not give into anything she was saying as she slowly pulled herself out of bed.

Her mind just wanders for a bit before she finally remembers;

Today's the last day.

Today is the day of the sinking, today the ship hits an iceberg and more than half the people on the ship will die.

Cynthia feels her skin crawl as she felt her whole body shiver, her eyes almost watering.

And then her mind goes back to last night, right after she and Rose had said goodbye. That man that had been watching them, and reporting back to the smoking room.

Back to-

Cal.

Oh god no, Cynthia thought, putting a hand on her face, rolling her thumbs along her temple.

What if Rose is in trouble because of me? Oh god no. No she can't, she can't. She can't be.

Her body shook slightly as Lillian came, bringing with her a cup of tea.

"Such a nice day," Lillian commented, looking out the window as Cynthia took a sip. She breathed through her nose as she glanced out the window.

Lillian then glanced down at Cynthia, whose mouth was still curled into a frown.

"Is something wrong Mrs Cornell?" Lillian asked. Cynthia looked up at her gave a small smile.

"Yeah I'm fine," she muttered, and took another sip. Lillian just nodded before she left the room and Cynthia just stared at her cup of tea.

She knew then and there that she had to see Rose. So she soon finished her cup of tea, had her breakfast and soon enough Lillian was helping Cynthia tighten her corset.

In the back of her find, she was thinking of all the ways she could potentially stop the sinking, but that wasn't what was important, at least not right.

What mattered most to Cynthia was that Rose was ok.

Lillian helped Cynthia into a long green silk dress with a matching green sash along the waist and a large butterfly wing effect along the top with a lace top.

Lillian leaves Cynthia alone as Cynthia brushes through her hair, putting it into a half up half-down ponytail and securing it with a leaf comb.

She quickly put on a pair of pearl earrings and before long she was out the door, marching down the hallways, heading in the direction of Rose's cabin.

In her head, she was reciting what exactly she was going to say and ask and what not to brin up, when she suddenly saw Rose and Cal coming up the corner.

The strong and determined expression that has been on Cynthia's face faltered as she saw Rose.

She wore an indigo coloured velvet and silk dress and had her hair slightly up.

She looked absolutely beautiful, yet she did not look happy.

Her lips seemed strained as she and Cal approached, and it made Cynthia's heartache as she watched Rose fiddle with her gloved fingers. Something had to have happened, it was clear with Rose's whole demeanour as she gave a small smile to Cynthia.

Cal on the other hand had a bright beaming smile, though Cynthia knew it wasn't genuine as he approached.

"Ah Cynthia, fancy seeing you this early."

Cynthia almost wanted to ignore Cal all together and just speak to Rose, but she bore it, gritting her teeth slightly as she plastered a fake smile at him.

"Cal, I'm surprised you even knew what side of the bed to wake up to this morning."

Cal's face flashed with befuddlement and confusion for a split second before recomposed himself, chuckling, "Yes well I do know how to wake up in the morning," He then slightly turned to Rose, a hand slinking along her waist, "You had a good enough rest last night, right sweetpea?"

Cynthia felt her blood boil looking at Cal as her eyes looked to Rose, who gave a sheepish smile to Cal, her eyes glancing back from him to Cynthia.

"Yes, glad I got the rest."

Her eyes flicked back to Cynthia whose gaze softened at Rose, concerned.

Now she really needed to talk to her.

"Yes, well we'll be off to the sunday service," Cal said cheerily and began to pull Rose away from the conversation when-

"Would you like to join us?" Rose asked quickly.

"Yes!" Cynthia said all too quickly. She held her breath a bit at her words as she glanced over to Cal who looked slightly annoyed as Rose who just smiled at Cynthia, except this one looked genuine, almost happily.

It looked somewhat reminiscent on the one she gave Cynthia in her dream.

Her cheeks slightly flushed at the memory as Cal just said: 'Very well."

And so the three headed off down the hall together, and went down the grand staircase down to the reception room. Cynthia had made sure to stand in between Cal and Rose, Cal had made some attempts of small talk but Cynthia just gave him some short answers.

She had no interest in conversing with him, he'd done something to Rose and she was never going to stand for it.

They were eventually joined by Ruth, much to Cynthia's annoyance who seemed to have said something to Cynthia, but she didn't really pay much attention, just smiling and nodding as they eventually made it to the reception room.

The whole room is packed full of people as the four of them found a spot for them to stand. Cynthia once again stood between Cal and Rose just as the service was about to begin. Cynthia could see from the corner of her eyes him looking irritated, but she paid it no mind.

She looked over at Rose who still had that sad expression on her face, until she looked up at Cynthia. Her eyes softened and she smiled as they were given out the pamphlets for the service.

A few minutes went by and the service began, with Captain Smith leading as they began to sing; "Eternal Father, Strong to Save."

"Eternal Father, strong to save, Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep, Its own appointed limits keep;"

Cynthia struggled to keep along with the tempo, she'd never really had sung in church like this back home, her family back home weren't really the religious type.

But she eventually found her footing, as she did, she kept glancing back at Rose whose eyes were stuck to following along to the pamphlet.

They continue on following the hymn when Cynthia hears Cal falter a bit in his singing. She glanced over at him as his eyes flicked towards the door that lead out to the rest of the reception hall. Just as she did, she saw the same man she'd seen last night spying on her and Rose going towards the doors.

He went through and then he was gone.

Cynthia was so busy watching what had transpired she'd stopped singing all together, something's not right, She thought and she barely had time to just finish the last of the hymn: " Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee, For those in peril on the sea!"

There's some claps around as th service concludes and by then Cynthia makes a quick rush towards the exit. If she was quick enough, she might found out what had been the commotion that had gotten Cal so distracted.

She burst through the doors, and just as she did, she saw that the space was empty and sure enough first class passengers began rolling out of the service room as they chatted amongst each other.

Cynthia frowned, whatever had cause the commotion, they had long gone. She sighed as she turned back and headed back in to find Rose, who she found along with Ruth was talking to Thomas Andrews.

Cynthia felt a little more at ease as she approached them. Thomas Andrews saw her approach.

"Ah, Cynthia, so lovely to see you," He beamed. Cynthia couldn't help but smile, even in the presence of Ruth who was frowning at her.

"Nice to see you too Mr Andrews, it was a nice service."

"Yes it was, Although-"

"Yes, yes, it was a nice service," Cal interrupted, coming right in. Cynthia glared at him as he came with his teethy smile.

Cal and Thomas Andrews began to chat away a bit but Cynthia wasn't paying much attention, all she was thinking about was how she needed to talk to Rose. She glanced over to her and saw she was fiddling with her fingers again.

Without really thinking, Cynthia began to slowly reach her hand out to Rose's when-

"You know, I'd be happy to offer you a tour of the ship" Thomas Andrews said warmly. Immediately, Cynthia drew her hand back as her, Cal, Rose and Ruth looked at him.

Ruth smiled, "Yes, how about after lunch?"

"Splendid."

"Wonderful."

Rose said nothing, but Cynthia found the words for her.

"Great."
