Hey guys
The past few days I've been in a mental funk and the results of the election have only made it worse. I'm not even American but most of my readers are and I just hope that this update and the next, even though small, can cheer you up even for a little bit.
I hope you enjoyed it :)
Chapter 7: Handsome Boys and Being Official
Jazmine expected to meet Huey's family the right way and by that she meant over dinner, she would be wearing a very cute virginal white dress with her natural hair out (because older black people always love seeing her with her natural hair), she would laugh, be witty and charm everyone while making Huey fall even more in love with her.
Sitting on the sofa right next to wannabe delinquent Cindy McPhearson while being sandwiched in between her new boyfriend and his younger as their grandfather paced to and fro in front of them with an open robe that revealed old man chest and boxers.
She decided rather easily not to tell Margot and Tatum about this part of the night in their next spill sesh.
She shivered slightly and not for the first time she wished she had her robe but she had stupidly left it in Huey's room when she left for water and now she was sitting in front of Huey's grandfather in nothing but an admittedly very cute silk nightgown. She had picked it out especially for Huey, it was the same color as her eyes, slinky, sensual, and of course it was incredibly sexy with the white lace detailing and short skirt but that sexiness had come back to bite her. She was cold and embarrassed.
Huey noticed her shivering, his arm stealthily snaking around her waist pulling her closer towards his warm body but that sneaky move didn't go unnoticed by Hyey's apparently eagle eyed grandfather who threw his head back in abject horror.
His arms stretched out to the heavens as if he was beseeching God, "Why lord?!" He yelled and Jazmine flinched subconsciously sinking deeper in Huey's embrace, "Why?! Why did you send me two of the dumbest horniest dumbest grandsons possible?!"
"Grandad, you said dumb twice." Huey commented and Jazmine was mentally yelling at him to shut up. She really didn't want him to set the crazy old man off but set him off he did.
Mr. Freeman pointed a fierce finger at Huey, "Silence demon!"
Huey pointed at himself and silently mouthed 'Demon?', Jazmine had to cover her mouth to hide her laugh.
Mr. Freeman's rant continued, "My grandsons, my own flesh and blood sneaking two little white girls-"
This time Jazmine was the one who interrupted the rant, "Actually I'm biracial, sir."
Mr. Freeman's finger now pointed at her, "Silence Jezebel!"
It was her time to point at her and mouthed incredulously 'Jezebel?'
"My grandsons that I took into my home, fed them, clothed them, paid for their expensive ass school and what do they do to me? Sneaking little girls up in their rooms to do who knows what-"
This time Huey's little brother was the one who spoke up, "Grandad it ain't even like that."
Jazmine was genuinely surprised at how different he sounded from Huey, the two were brothers and cane from the same place. How was it that they sounded nothing alike but maybe that was a good thing because if they didn't sound different she would find it a bit hard to differentiate them. The two boys looked almost exactly alike, sure they had different hairstyles, Huey's afro to Riley's cornrows, but they had very nearly the same face. It was eerie and slightly captivating, she had to rip her eyes away from him because it obviously wouldn't look good for her just to stare at her boyfriend's little brother in front of their irate grandfather.
An irate grandfather who was now glaring at him bushy gray eyebrows twitching severely to the point that she was worried that he was going to have a heart attack but luckily (maybe) he hadn't, once again flinging his back his head to stare at the ceiling.
"Lord!" Wow he was loud, "My grandchildren think I was born yesterday." he dropped his head and crouched down low so his eyes were on the same level as Riley it was then that Jazmine noticed that he had the same unique russet/wine colored eyes as both his grandsons.
"Boy," he said in a gruff voice, "do you think I'm stupid?"
Riley looked to his brother and Huey shook his head, Riley looked back to his grandfather, "You really want me to answer that?"
Huey facepalmed, Jazmine snorted, and Cindy guffawed.
Mr. Freeman was much less amused.
Seeing this Riley attempted to placate the old man, "Look grandad we were just studying that's all." His placating didn't work and no wonder why it didn't.
Jazmine didn't know much about the youngest Freeman but she knew enough about Cynthia McPhearson. They didn't exactly run in the same circles but there was plenty of overlap, her father helped Cindy's dad during a business merger and both their mother's have invited the other to charities and galas and parties so the two have spent time with each other but the two definitely weren't friends.
Jazmine had been getting A's ever since it was possible to get them and even before that she got only stars and hearts, she did gymnastics, track, and cheer and that was just scratching the surface. She's been volunteering at homeless and pet centers since she was seven. Although she wasn't as pure as newfallen snow she was nowhere as bad as Cindy. She and her friends made snarky comments about bitchy teachers and classmates alike while Cindy and friends get high in the school bathroom and snort cocaine at parties.
During the summer Jazmine and her family vacationed across Europe while Cindy's parents sent her to those troubled kid centers to try and curb her klepto habit. It never worked.
Thankfully Jazmine's mother never pushed her to be friends with the blonde demon in fact she made sure to keep her away although she doubted Cindy would want to be friends with her, the sixteen year old seemed to be more interested in her college aged groupies and apparently Huey's fifteen year old brother. Funny how life worked, two girls completely different in almost every way decided to fool around with brothers on the same night.
She was sure God was laughing at her right now.
"You? Studying?" The oldest Freeman barked out a laugh, "I might have believed that-" he pointed at Huey, "-little nigga was studying but you? Your only good grade is from P.E."
Huh, maybe the littlest Freeman was a match for Woodcrest's blonde gangster.
"And to be clear I don't believe Huey was studying either."
"You don't believe me grandad? That really hurts." Huey muttered sarcastically.
Mr. Freeman's eyes narrowed, "Are you being smart with me boy?"
"When you mean 'being smart' what does that entail exactly?"
"Being a smartass." Mr. Freeman said bluntly.
Huey shrugged, "Yeah I'm being smart."
Jazmine giggled but the laughter died in her throat when she noticed that Mr. Freeman's chilly gaze was on her.
"Little girl."
Both Jazmine and Cindy pointed at themself.
"Yes both of you, do you want to get pregnant with their big headed babies?"
Jazmine shook her head, "No sir."
Cindy shrugged, "I can afford a nanny."
"Do you want to drop out of high school and amount to nothing?"
Jazmine shook her head again, "No sir."
Cindy shrugged again, "I wasn't going to amount to anything anyways."
"You are two pretty girls from probably good families. What are you doing with these two idiots?!"
Jazmine shifted uncomfortably, "Well that's a little mean."
Cindy's face broke out in a bright white grin, "He has a massive-"
Huey quickly interrupted Cindy (thank God), "Okay we all understand, we're all big headed lecherous demons praying on these poor suburban girls and we are super sorry. Can we take them home now?"
Mr. Freeman paused, obviously caught off guard by Huey's outburst and coughed awkwardly into his fist, "So you've all learned your lesson?"
"Yes sir." All four of them answered unanimously and monotonously.
"And you won't do it again?"
"No sir."
"Alright then," he coughed again, "Well take these lovely ladies home."
At this instruction both the Freeman brothers stood up immediately and the two girls followed behind them.
The four of them made their way to the front door rushing politely so as not to incur another rant.
The four teenagers managed to make it out with Huey closing the door behind him.
Jazmine shivered as she was exposed to the cold open air and her shivers only got worse when she noticed Huey's little brother's eyes raked over her practically naked body to both her and Cindy's displeasure.
"Damn Huey I didn't know that you had it in you." he declared with a smirk on his face.
Jazmine crossed her arms over her chest and Huey shot Riley a chilly glare that felt colder than the cold air.
"Riley I will beat your ass." Huey stated like it was a clear fact.
"And I'll help him." Cindy added, "Take me home asshole."
Riley's smirk turned into a snarl, "Damn bitch get off my dick!"
"I might never get on if you don't stop drooling at big titted Barbie and fucking take me home!" Cindy growled yanking at Riley's arm.
Jazmine didn't know whether or not to be insulted by the comment, was she blessed with a body that people showed to their plastic surgeons for reference? Absolutely but did she like people making comments on it? Absolutely not…well maybe if it came from a certain someone but Cindy 'Wild Child' McPhearson was definitely not that someone.
The two teens continued to argue and Jazmine didn't even notice that Huey had snuck up right beside her.
"We should leave."
She jumped and Huey laughed, "Don't ever do that again."
"But it's funny." He said simply shrugging as he did so.
She pouted, "Well it's not funny to me."
"That's a part of why it's so funny." he laughed and she playfully began to smack him while he half heartedly dodged her attacks.
Finally he grabbed both her hands with only one of his and Jazmine's heart got stuck in her throat but not for the wrong reasons.
Huey pulled her closer to him and her heart started beating again, rapidly.
"Okay Jazmine I'm sorry, can you find it in your heart to forgive me?"
Jazmine's face turned hot. Damn him and his stupid good looking face.
"Yeah sure I guess." She tried and failed to act unbothered, she doubted that he fell for it but thankfully he didn't tease her any further, he released her hands his attention more focused on his little brother and his…girlfriend? Friends with benefits? Either way they did not look like they were having a good time.
"They are still arguing." Huey stated and they were arguing. Loudly.
And it apparently had gotten violent, both were yanking at each other's hair while shouting at the other to release them.
Jazmine's lips twitched upwards but she managed to swallow down the giggle that was trying to force its way out. She had an idea that they would join forces against her if she laughed.
Huey slipped her hand into his, holding her hand tightly. Jazmine stiffened and barely heard the words that Huey was saying. "We should go, before these idiots wake up the entire neighborhood."
"Mmh mh." she whimpered.
"I can't drive because your parents might hear us so is it okay for us to walk?" He asked.
"Mmh mh." She whimpered again.
She should be ashamed of herself, she walked all the way over here in skimpy negligee with the intent to do something more than have a sleepover and she definitely accomplished that goal and now she was blushing and stumbling over holding hands. What is up with her?
As she was analyzing that fact she allowed herself to be pulled, gently, alongside him, his gait slowed down so that she could keep up with him but even then she still was still stumbling.
Come on Jazmine, she scolded herself, pull yourself together.
She glanced at him through her peripheral vision and coughed awkwardly, "So do you miss Chicago?"
Immediately thoughts of Huey's ex girlfriend and ex best friend popped up into her mind and she wanted to take it back. She would have just asked him about the weather, it would've been dumb as it was too dark to even see the sky but it was at least something.
Thankfully if Huey seemed bothered by the question he didn't show it. "I do, I really do."
Okay so maybe it wasn't such a bad question, "What do you miss about it?"
"The weather."
Her eyebrows shot up to her hairline, "Really?" When she thought of Chicago its weather was usually a part of the downsides.
"I don't like hot weather so sue me."
"What about sunbathing, pool parties, ice cream, beaches?" She listed off an extensive list of things she loved.
"We have beaches in Chicago." he said defensively
"You guys sunbathe on concrete." she said completely deadpan.
"We have other beaches…with sand."
She shrugged, "Yeah but even those are low tier beaches."
"Why are you acting like Maryland has world class beaches?"
"We don't, that's why my family vacation in the Caribbean."
"What a not so humble brag." he snorted.
She gasped, "I'm not bragging, I'm just stating a fact."
"Do you also rent a boat off the coast of Saint-Tropez?" he mocked
Her face turned beet red and Huey's eyes widened.
"Wait I was joking, you really do that?"
"It was one time." She defended herself lamely. It was her fourteenth birthday and her parents rented a boat for her and her friends, she drank champagne pretending like she was an extremely chic twenty-five year old.
"Oh well that just explains it. I was vacationing in Monte Carlo last summer." he joked and Jazmine playfully shoved his shoulder and he barely moved. It was like trying to push a warm wall.
"You are such a bully!" she pouted playfully
Huey shrugged, "Yeah but you love it."
"When did you get so cocky?"
"Since birth, I've been called arrogant before I knew that I was a separate person from my mother."
Jazmine smiled, "You sound like you were an adorable baby."
He snorted,"That is so wrong."
"Maybe I'll have to ask your grandfather for your baby pictures," she added after a second, "well after he forgets that I snuck into his house to meet you."
"Grandad has none of my baby pictures." he stated factually.
"Why not?" she asked genuinely curious
"I've only met my grandfather a few times before I moved in with him so he might have a couple photos laying around from what my dad or his sister did but he definitely doesn't have a bunch of photo albums with him." he explained as they turned the corner. They were nearing her house.
"Who has those precious albums then?"
"My Aunt Cookie, she was the one who we lived with before moving here."
She raised an eyebrow at that name and he laughed, "That's just what we call her I'm even sure if that's her actual name. Honestly I don't think anyone knows her real name."
"What is your…Aunt Cookie like?"
"She's what I imagine most older black women are like, she's extremely loving and protective to the point it borders on stifling, she's intelligent and a know it all…she's just Aunt Cookie."
"She seems-," she paused, "-interesting." Not unpleasant but not very pleasing either. She was probably being judgemental, she really needed to work on that.
"Yeah she is a very interesting old lady."
"Would she like me?" she asked curiously.
"No." he stated bluntly and Jazmine froze.
Ouch.
It was fine, she was just 0 for 2 for good impressions for Huey's family, well 0 for 3 if she included his little brother.
Noticing her silence Huey spoke again, his voice even and not rushed, "Don't worry about it I seriously doubt that you would like her either.
Her grip on his hand tightened, "Yeah but she sounds like she practically raised you. I kind of do want her to like me even hypothetically."
He squeezed her hand in turn this time reassuringly, "Don't worry I don't give a shit about what my family thinks. Ninety percent of them are idiots and the rest of them aren't any smarter."
His words were blunt and not very romantic but she couldn't help but feel warm inside hearing Huey's defense of her against his family no less. How many women could claim that they had a boyfriend or even husband to defend them against their family? She didn't know but she had one.
Distantly wedding bells rang and her dreams of a spring wedding on the french coast was one step closer to reality.
"We're here."
Jazmine was shocked out of her wedding stupor, Huey was right they were here. The house was still dark with no sign of anyone being awake.
Jazmine sighed in relief and glanced up at Huey, "Well I guess I'll see you at school."
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow," gently grabbing her chin, raising her head until she could fully see his eerily nonchalant face. He leaned over and placed a soft sweet kiss on her forehead, "Goodnight Jazmine."
And with that he turned on his heels, walking back home leaving her short circuiting a couple feet away from her house.
Those pink loving coquette internet dwellers were right, a kiss on the forehead was so much more meaningful than a kiss on the lips.
She practically skipped up the driveway through the door and up the stairs (albeit much more quietly when she came across her parent's room) and into her room where she tap danced silently.
In one fell swoop she had a boyfriend and gained more sexual experience in a few hours than other girls her age did in like…a month.
She was so cool. Take that Veronica and your Kardashian lip fillers!
Tired from her jumping, Jazmine decided that she needed her third bath of the day if only to clear away the sweat and other…lingering fluids. It was honestly a bad habit but she couldn't sleep without her entire body being cool and smelling like fresh cotton.
She wasn't interested in a shower and she didn't have the energy to do one with all the trappings of dried rose petals, lavender, or bath bombs but she desperately needed to to feel the cold water to run all over her naked body.
As she soaked in the slightly chilly and crystal clear waters she imagined that Huey was in it with her, seated behind her.
She splashed water on her face. This was not helping.
She stepped out of the porcelain bathtub dripping wet and slightly shivering, she quickly wrapped a terry-cloth robe around her.
Drying her hair and body she willed herself to not remember all the things they…or rather she had done tonight. Oh if her friends had seen her, they would have been aghast well Tatum would have been Margot would have been having the time of her life.
She chose and put on a much more sensible set of pajamas, just white and cotton and settled into her bed which she had to admit was so much more comfortable than Huey's.
She closes her eyes and feels herself drifting off, maybe one day Huey will sleep in her bed one day. One day soon.
She sat up in her bed the second time for the night.
She forgot her robe at Huey's.
Jazmine woke up feeling surprisingly refreshed even though she didn't get her usually mandated ten hours of sleep.
She turned off her alarm clock and took a few seconds to lay in her bed as all the memories of the last night flooded in her brain.
Her face turned hot and red.
She couldn't even pretend that she was drunk to hide behind, nope that was entirely all her and her formerly chained up libido.
She didn't know if she was proud or ashamed but right now it was leaning towards being proud. After all she was a pretty girl and he was a handsome guy, why not?
Throughout her entire routine half of her mind was on the thought of Huey, as she bathed, moisturized, oiled and got dressed.
She wondered what he was doing, was he awake? Was he thinking of her? Or was he just going about his day as usual?
She couldn't imagine that he had never done that before, there might have been a small possibility that he was as much of a virgin as her but it was extremely low. Guys that were that good looking had to be experienced and Jazmine couldn't tell if that made her feel better or worse.
She shook that thought from her mind and focused on what she was going to wear to school. The color pink immediately flooded her mind and she wasn't averse to it.
She picked out a rather simple but incredibly cute lace pastel pink camisole with a silk ribbon centered on the hemline. Although it showed hints of her flat stomach she doubted that she would have been dress coded, Jazmine wasn't the type of girl to be dress coded.
She paired the top with a cute denim mini skirt and a pair of frankly adorable pink heels. Nothing too out there but still put together.
Her parents had left early like they usually did so she thankfully didn't have to pretend to her parents that she was just sleeping last night.
She made breakfast and had washed it and placed her plate back into the cupboard when a text message popped up on her phone.
She didn't need to look at the screen to know who the message was from. It was Margot telling her that she was outside waiting for her.
God help her.
Margot's shiny black convertible was parked in front of her house with the girls seated in their usual positions Margot in the driver's seat and Tatum in the back.
Jazmine took several breaths to calm her skyrocketed heart rate. Margot could smell weakness and Tatum was practically a bloodhound when it comes to drama.
She walked down her driveway at a normal and casual pace while chanting in her head over and over again.
Just be calm.
Just be calm.
Just be calm.
Don't let Margot's piercing gaze shatter your defenses.
Just be calm.
She opened the car door and as soon as she sat down Margot turned to her sunglasses perched perfectly on top of her head.
"Spill."
"Oh my god let me breathe."
"You've breathed enough," Tatum announced from the backseat, "Now tell us what happened."
Jazmine sighed, "Well we went to the movies-"
"Obviously." Margot interrupted
"-and we sat down-"
"Get on with it." Tatum urged
"-and then we kissed and now we're dating."
It was silent in the car for a few uncomfortable seconds before both girls spoke at the same time.
"Is that it?"
"Yep." she answered not even fooling herself.
Margot raised an eyebrow, "Do you expect me to believe that?"
"Uh huh." she said, her voice unnaturally high. Her eyes darted everywhere except Margot's face.
"Jazmine?"
"Yep?"
"Did you sleep with him?"
She choked on her spit, spinning around to face Margot and Tatum who both had their eyebrows raised.
"That is - I didn't-"
Tatum gasped, "You did!"
"I didn't!" she shrieked.
Margot paused, examining her face before nodding, "She didn't."
"What?!"
"See!"
Both Tatum and Jazmine yelled at the same time.
Margot held out her hand to silence both of them. "Although I'm ninety-nine percent sure that she didn't have sex with him I'm still ninety-nine percent sure that you didn't just do nothing."
Jazmine looked down at her shoes to hide her red face. She definitely did more than that.
Tatum gasped, "Oh my god! What did you two do?!"
Margot, of course, joined in, "Correction, what did you two do in a movie theater?"
"Nothing!" She lied.
"That blush doesn't look like nothing." Tatum teased.
"That's fine you don't have to tell us," Jazmine looked up in shock but seeing that wide grin that had spread across her face, "I'll help you just raise your hand when what I say is correct."
"What?"
"Did he eat you out?"
Jazmine covered her face with her hands, "Oh my god."
"I'll put that under a solid maybe."
"No! It's a no!"
"Okay alright I'll put it under a no…for now."
"God." she groaned into her hands.
"Did you go down on him?"
"No!"
"Fingering?"
Jazmine bit her lip.
Tatum gasped, "Oh my God!"
"Our little Jazmine is all grown up." Margot crooned
"Can we just go please just go, I have a math test." She lied, she absolutely hated math but she'd rather have that than deal with this for any longer.
"Is it the math test or do you just want to see your new boyfriend?" Margot teased poking Jazmine's cheek.
"Please drive before I go back into my house and never leave." and she really would.
"Okay fine, don't pop a blood vessel."
Margot started the car and they drove off but it was only five minutes before Margot's dark eyes glanced over at Jazmine's still red face.
"You know I'm never going to let this go right?"
"I will jump out of this car." Jazmine announced reaching for the car door.
"Okay fine!" Margot laughed and Jaine found herself laughing with her.
Chapter 7 Completed.
This chapter is quite a bit shorter than the previous so I would definitely consider it a filler episode and it is definitely more comedy focused.
I know there has been a lack of Riley and the rest of the guys and the next chapters will have more of them, I just love writing about my favorite couple.
I'm going to try my hardest to start publishing consistently and I've even made a writing and publishing schedule that I will try my hardest to stick to.
I have a lot of ideas jumbling in my head and I hope you will be able to read all of them.
Anyways I hope you enjoyed it :)
