Before I begin, everyone, I would like to tell you all something important. Rachael Lillis, who as you know was the original voice of Misty among many other characters in the Pokemon anime, has cancer. She has been in a nursing home since January, and it has spread to her spine, meaning that she isn't able to walk much anymore. Rachael's sister has set up a gofundme for a personal nurse and extra care, and as of me writing this note, the Pokemon fandom has come in full force and tripled the original asking goal of 20K dollars. I was originally going to wait to publish this chapter until it was betaread, but I really wanted to do this for Rachael. She is so important to me and many other fans... we're all praying for you. This chapter is for you, Rachael... :'( And now, without further delay, Misty Chronicles Episode 9!
When we last saw Misty Waterflower, she was in the Hoenn region where she had a reunion with Ash. During that reunion with Ash, she helped deal with a robber who wanted to steal all of the Luvdisc of Lake May. Her Togepi evolved into a Togetic, while she and her sister added Luvdisc to her team. Little did the two sisters know their newest captures would deliver unwanted attention to the gym…
A pair of suspicious looking people in big black coats headed into a small little coffee shop in a sleepy little town. "What can I get you?" the owner asked the pair of suspicious characters.
"We would like an everything sundae," the blonde woman said.
"With extra everything," the green haired man said.
"One everything sundae," the coffee shop owner said, acting not as innocent as he appeared, "Coming right up. Feel free to have a seat."
The two suspicious customers took a seat, and when their dessert arrived, they quickly spooned it. They didn't want to eat it, though, as inside of the delectable treat was a small voice recorder. Making sure the coast was clear, they played it.
"Good afternoon, Cassidy and Biff," their nefarious employer, Dr. Namba, said to the two strange people, now revealed to be our second favorite pair of Rocket members.
"It is Cassidy and BUTCH," the green haired man corrected.
His partner in crime shushed him as Dr. Namba continued, "Your next mission is to apprehend the Rendezvous Pokemon, Luvdisc. We are going to reverse its powers in order to remove love from the world. I have been informed that a pair of them have recently made their homes in Cerulean City."
"Sounds familiar," Butch said.
"We had an encounter with that loser girl Misty there once," Cassidy reminded him, remembering their defeat when they tried to capture Georgio's Delcatty, the most recent in a string of humiliating losses against the redhead that started all the way back when they used a Pokemon Breeding Center as a kidnapping front.
"Of course," Butch said, "And miss goody-two shoes is the gym leader."
"Get moving," Dr. Namba said, "Another group already tried this mission in an operation independent from Team Rocket and failed. I don't want YOU to fail, too. You should make it to Cerulean City by morning. That is all." And with those final words, Dr Namba's recorder self-destructed in a cloud of smoke.
"A plan to remove love from the world?" Cassidy said with an eager grin.
"You gotta love it," Butch said, "And if what Dr. Namba said was true, and if I think those who failed are who I think they are, it will be a good way to get one over on Messie and Lames!" He cackled as he said those names, remembering all of the times that the other Team Rocket members failed to get his name correct. With that, the two headed off on their latest evil mission…
Misty Chronicles OP1:
"I Ain't The Same, I'm the Power"
Lyrics by TheGlassyGuyArt
Vocals by Rachael Lillis (as Misty)
(Lyrics
Accompanying Visual)
I feel the change in the air, I'm feeling so alive
On a blue background, a silhouette of Misty's feet appears, and zooms up her body as the lyrics continue.
My heart is beating faster, higher than a kite
When it reaches her face, it zooms out and reveals her whole body.
I ain't the same, I'm something new, I'm something bold
Misty pulls out a Pokeball and throws it, a flash of light appears
I'm feeling the power, I'm never getting old!
The logo for "The Misty Chronicles" appears as it transitions to the first verse.
I ain't the same, I'm way much more,
Misty is shown running alongside a river, her Goldeen jumps out and wags her tail before falling back into the water.
My spirit's got the power to open every door!
Staryu jumps out of the water and spins before it too falls into the water.
"Giving up" was never in my dictionary,
Psyduck suddenly pops out of his Pokeball. Misty stops running as Psyduck falls into the water.
My power has been reborn, and so I have been!
Misty sighs as Togepi, who was in her arms, just chirps happily and claps
I'm on a mission to live my life right,
Misty is now facing off against another trainer, as Politoed cheers her on by clapping.
Spreading love and light with all of my might,
Misty sends out Corsola as it makes a pose.
Gotta rise up high don't be afraid to fall,
Horsea and Starmie are swimming behind a glass wall, giving happy expressions as if they are happy to see Misty again.
The courage within me is gonna carry all!
Gyarados swims straight up in front of the Pokemon as it cuts to Misty on the battlefield
OH YEAH, I AIN'T THE SAME BABY!
Misty sends out all of her Pokemon as the chorus starts up.
I ain't the same, I'm the power and younger!
Goldeen jumps up and uses a Horn Attack
I am the victory, feeling so much stronger!
Staryu and Starmie use Water Guns to form arcs as Misty makes a pose in between.
Oh yeah, I ain't the same,
Togepi shakes her arms back and forth like a metronome to the beat.
Oh yeah, I ain't the same!
Psyduck shakes his booty in front of the camera.
I ain't the same, I'm the motivation.
Horsea uses a Smokescreen attack to cover the whole screen.
I'm the heartbeat, born for inspiration!
Corsola clears the smoke by using a Spike Cannon attack.
Oh yeah, I ain't the same,
Politoed claps along to the beat.
Oh yeah, I ain't the same!
Gyarados pops out of the pool and unleashes an attack
I know in my heart I can do anything!
Misty and all of her Pokemon are seen together as the song ends.
On a cerulean background, the episode's title appears as Misty reads it out loud.
LUVDISC IS A MANY SPLENDORED THING
The sun was shining down on a beautiful day in Cerulean City, where love is in the air. A love so powerful that nothing can stop it. No, it isn't between Misty and Tracey. (Have you seen who is writing this, and do you know his opinions on Orangeshipping?) It isn't even between two people.
"Hey, Misty!" Tracey said as he came into the gym.
"Hi Tracey!" Misty said as she came into the reception area, "It is so nice that you could come here." The Cerulean Gym Leader invited her friend from the Orange Islands over to the gym so he could see her newest capture. She was sure that Professor Oak, who Tracey worked for, would love sketches of the Pokemon from the Hoenn region.
"Toka To-chi!" Togetic said as she flew off Misty's shoulder and towards her "uncle" Tracey. The Pokemon was only a little Togepi when she last saw him, and this was the first time they met since she evolved.
"Togepi, you evolved!" Tracey said. He pulled out his sketchbook and started to draw the newly evolved Pokemon.
"That's not all," Misty said, reminding Tracey of the reason he came here in the first place.
"So, where are the new Pokemon?" Tracey asked.
"They are in the main pool area with Daisy," Misty said. "My other sisters are out getting pampered. Violet is getting a manicure, while Lily is getting a pedicure."
"I've never gotten a manicure," Tracey said, "But Professor Oak says that they are really interesting."
"Misty," Daisy said in her cheerfully high voice, "Who is your friend here?"
"Daisy," Misty said, "This is my friend Tracey. Ash and I traveled with him in the Orange Islands."
"What's up?" Tracey said as the Orange Islander shook hands with Misty's sister.
"Come with me," Daisy said, "The Pokemon are in one of the pools."
The Waterflower sisters lead Tracey to one of the glass tanks where one of the latest captures was.
"Meet Caserin, my new Luvdisc," Misty said, introducing her unique new Pokemon to the Pokemon researcher.
"Wow," Tracey said as he started to sketch the simple looking Pokemon, "I have never seen this Pokemon up close."
"Have you found out where Luverin is?" Daisy asked Misty, noticing that her own Luvdisc wasn't with the other one in the tank.
"Huh? You mean there is another Luvdisc hiding in there?" Tracey asked in surprise. His eyes started to search for the Pokemon that Daisy was talking about.
"Sure," Daisy said, "Luverin is always hiding from Caserin, she is more of the shy and reserved type of Pokemon, which doesn't work well with Caserin, as he's more intense.
"I guess," Tracey said, his eyes ping-pong back and forth across the tank.
"She is really good at hiding," Misty said with a chuckle, "But watch…"
Tracey kept his eyes on Caserin as the male Luvdisc started to sway from side to side until he stopped. "It looks like Caserin is pointing at something, like a compass needle!"
"That's right, Tracey," Daisy said, "Just like how a compass always points to true north, Caserin always points to his true love."
"You mean he points to wherever she is?" Tracey asked.
"That's right," Misty confirmed, "He is madly in love with Luverin." Just as the explanation was finished, a second Luvdisc peeped behind the rock that Caserin was pointing at. She was wearing a golden tiara, a little prop from one of Misty's sisters' many water Pokemon ballets that Daisy used to tell the two Pokemon apart from one another.
"Luv!" Caserin chirped happily, hearts in his eyes as he jetted towards Luverin.
"Isn't she precious?" Daisy asked.
"Tochi Tochi!" Togetic chirped, thinking that Caserin's love for Luverin was cute.
"You know, in a weird sort of way, Luverin reminds me of… ME!" Daisy declared.
"Oh, you mean when YOU were in your tiara phase?" Misty asked. Misty remembered her older always dressing like a princess when the younger one was only a six/seven-year-old.
"Wow," Tracey said, "It looks like Caserin really has it for Luverin."
"Unfortunately, she doesn't feel the same," Daisy said glumly. Sure enough, the moment she said that, the female Luvdisc closed her eyes and rudely turned away before swimming off. This upset the male Luvdisc.
"Shot down by Luverin," Tracey said.
"Yes, the poor thing," Misty said before heading up to the glass. "Cheer up, Caserin. I am sure she will warm up to you eventually." But the Rendezvous Pokemon simply sank to the bottom of the tank in defeat. "Oh, he is such a big cry baby!" Misty said, frustrated.
"How are we going to prepare a new underwater spectacular if Luverin is acting like such a diva?!"
"What underwater spectacular?" Misty asked, not liking the direction Daisy was going, and remembering the LAST time she was roped into participating in one of these.
"Sounds like it could be fun," Tracey said, having never seen one of the shows the Cerulean Gym is known for.
"Oh, it IS going to be fun," Daisy said before adding, "Not to mention, totally romantic!"
Tracey and Misty just looked at each other confused as they walked towards the main pool/battlefield. Daisy started to explain her idea for the show. "Imagine Misty, in her BEAUTIFUL mermaid costume swimming DREAMILY through the water. She is searching, SEARCHING for someone to love…"
"Can I just be swimming?" Misty asked, not liking the direction Daisy was going in.
"Does she ever find someone Daisy?" Tracey asked the older Waterflower.
"Uh-huh," Daisy explained, "A HANDSOME prince.
"Right…" Misty said, "I think I know where this is going, and I don't like it…"
"YOU can play that handsome prince, Tracey," Daisy said.
Misty simply turned away, not interested in the rest of Daisy's explanation on how the two Luvdisc would help their characters out.
"I could CRY just thinking about it," Daisy said, "but that would just ruin my mascara."
"I thought you were doing that girl-detective movie?" Misty asked. The eldest Waterflower sister wouldn't shut up about her newest project on the plane back to the Kanto region.
"I am," Daisy said, "But water ballets are and will always be my first love. Just wait until you see your costumes. They are just adorable."
"To…" Togetic said, struggling to hold in her laughter at the image of Misty and Tracey in their costumes together.
"I dunno Daisy," Tracey said.
"You are going to make the cutest prince!" Daisy declared, "All of the girls in the audience will fall in love with you!"
Tracey, Misty, and Togetic all sweatdropped. "I am NOT getting into that mermaid costume again," Misty shouted, "Especially if HE is being the prince." She then gave a "no offense" look to Tracey.
"I'm not so sure," Tracey said before asking the blonde, "Would I be wearing tights in the show?"
"Absolutely," Daisy said zestfully.
"Then I can't," Tracey said, "Plus I have a lot of work to do back at the lab.
"Same here," Misty said, "I have FAR too many responsibilities here as a gym leader, no thanks to you. Why can't you have Lily and Violet play the roles?"
"Tochi Tochi…" Togetic said. She loved uncle Tracey and Misty, but much like her mother, she just couldn't see the two of them together due to their lack of chemistry, especially compared with uncle Ash.
"I'll consider it," Daisy said, her tone showing that she was upset that her sister wasn't bending down to her, "But I doubt we will even HAVE a show if Luverin doesn't play nice."
The trio of trainers looked at the pool where Caserin was trying to show his affection to Luverin, but Luverin was trying to evade the male Luvdisc.
"She sure is playing hard to get, isn't she?" Tracey asked.
Just then, a flash of light came out of Misty's bag. Everyone looked, with Caserin and Luverin surfacing to see what was going on. Psyduck popped out of his Pokeball and landed into the pool. Almost immediately, he started to wave his wing-arms wildly, "PSY-IGH-IGH-IGH!"
"Someone grab the innertube," Misty said with a sigh, upset that Psyduck decided to do his usual antics yet again.
"To-chi-ka," Togepi said as she flew over to grab Psyduck's innertube."
Misty, Daisy, Tracey, and Togetic watched as Psyduck talked with Caserin for a little bit. "What do you think they are talking about?" Misty asked, as Togetic was the only one of the quartet who was able to understand what they were saying.
"I think Psyduck is trying to get the two of them together," Tracey remarked.
"I think you're right," Misty said.
They continued to watch as Psyduck turned his attention to Luverin. While Caserin was grateful for Psyduck's help, Luverin simply turned away when the Duck Pokemon was trying to talk to her. She even sprayed the poor duck with a Water Gun attack!
"Well, looks like Luverin just isn't having it," Daisy said. Little did the blonde know that things were about to get a whole lot worse as when Luverin dipped back below the waves. A dark and sinister shape was sneaking up behind her. When the crown wearing Luvdisc saw what was behind her, she tried to swim away. But it was too late, as it opened up and snatched her like a predator.
"To-chi," Togetic said as she was tugging on her mama's clothes, "Tochi! Tochi!" She was pointing towards what was happening. The three humans saw what was happening… too late.
"Oh no!" Daisy said, "MY LUVERIN!"
"What is going on?" Tracey asked as the robot burst from the water. As it flew to the top of the diving board, Togetic pointed her arms to where a pair of familiar figures were standing.
"Alright, prepare for trouble," the female crook said.
"And while you are at it, make it double," her male counterpart said, holding the box that controlled the robot that captured Luverin.
"To infect the world with defistation,"
"To blight all peoples in every nation,"
"To denounce the goodness of truth and love,"
"To extend our wrath to the stars above,"
"Cassidy,"
"And Butch too!"
"Team Rocket circles the Earth day and night,"
"Surrender now, or you will surely lose the fight!"
"We know who you are!" Misty declared, encountered the villains during and since her time with Ash.
"Yeah," Tracey said, "Cassidy and Bleach!"
"THE NAME IS BUTCH!" the green haired man shouted as he stomped his foot onto the diving board like a demonic creature.
"You better give me back my Pokemon!" Daisy said crossly.
"No way!" Cassidy said with an evil laugh before throwing out a Pokeball. Out came a Pokemon that Misty recognized from Ash's emails, Sableye. "Sableye, use Shadow Ball!"
Sableye formed a shadowy blob in his claws before throwing it towards the trainers!
"Togetic, use Safeguard!" Misty commanded as her Pokemon formed a protective barrier around the humans. But the trainers weren't the Shadow Ball's actual target, as it was actually the ground. Immediately upon colliding with the floor, a cloud of smoke formed, covering the entire gym area. The Team Rocket members took advantage of the lack of visibility to make their escape. They climbed down the ladder up to the diving board and made their way to the fire exit, Butch holding the drone with an imprisoned Luverin inside.
"That was easier than I thought it would be," Cassidy said as she and Butch climbed into their getaway vehicle, a futuristic red-hover car.
"Yeah," Butch said as he started up the vehicle, "Let's roll!"
"I cannot wait to tell Namba," Cassidy said as the car sped down the road, "He will be tickled pink!"
Butch smiled in agreement and glee, "Yeah, and Messie and Lames will be fuming mad when they find out we did what they couldn't!" Both Rockets laughed evilly…
Misty, Daisy, and Tracey managed to get out of the gym just in time to see the bad guys make their getaway. "Quick," Daisy said, worried about her Pokemon, "We have to follow them!"
"How can we?!" Misty asked, "They are already so far ahead of us, and we don't know where they are going."
Just then, Tracey remembered something about Caserin, "Hey, wait a minute! I have an idea!"
The group headed back into the gym to get Caserin as a part of Tracey's plan, as well as Misty to get some of her other Pokemon in case things really went south. Soon, they were in Daisy's car, with the elder Waterflower in the driver's seat, Misty beside her, and Tracey in the back, holding a large water container with Caserin inside on his lap. Tracey's idea was to use Caserin's ability to point to where Luverin is in order to find the crooks. Caserin looked a bit panicked, but Misty turned around to give the Rendezvous Pokemon a pep talk
"Come on, Caserin," she said, "I know this is hard, but you need to be brave for Luverin. It is the only way to get her back. If you can concentrate extra hard, maybe we can find her and set her free. Who knows? Maybe she will thank you." Soon, the lovesick Pokemon gained a look of determination, making Misty happy. Caserin closed his eyes before tilting a bit before pointing towards the left. "He is pointing to the west! Hurry, Daisy!"
"Gimme a second," Daisy said, showing little urgency despite the fact that it was HER Pokemon stolen, and they wanted to get it back. She was putting on a pair of cool looking gloves.
"Not the ones from the movie!" Misty groaned in displeasure.
Daisy seemed to pay no mind to what her youngest sister thought as she whipped out a pair of sunglasses and put them on. "Get ready, everybody, CUZ HIGH SPEED HANNAH IS BACK IN TOWN!"
"High Speed Hannah?" Tracey asked Misty in confusion, "What on earth is she talking about?
"A character from one of her movies," Misty said, "She is a real method actress."
"Let's put this baby in high gear!" Daisy said, slipping into character and putting her foot on the pedal. With a loud screech from the tires, the car started to speed along the road in pursuit of Team Rocket.
"TOCHI!" Togetic said as she held on tight to her mother's shoulder, not wanting to fall out.
Meanwhile, by the ocean cliffside, Cassidy and Butch were continuing their escape.
"We sure left those dummies in the dust," Butch said with a smirk on his face.
Cassidy nodded as she looked at the monitor in search of any trouble. "Dummy alert!" She said once she saw a car coming up behind her, with three unwanted people inside. She directed her comrad's attention to the screen, and he saw that Daisy was catching up to them, and fast!
"But… how?!" Butch said, surprised as to how they were able to catch up to them so fast.
The gap between the heroes and villains was continuing to grow shorter and shorter as Cassidy yelled, "Never mind how they caught up! Gun it!"
"I can do better than that!" Butch declared. He hit the switch, and soon enough, their hover car became as fast as their team's namesake vehicle. "Heh heh heh! This baby's aerodynamic! Within seconds, those slowpokes will be eating gravel!"
"It better be," Cassidy said skeptically as Daisy's car was still on their tail. However fast Team Rocket's vehicle was, it still was not as fast as Daisy's car. "High Speed Hannah" seemed to be quite the racer when the need came.
"Come on, Daisy!" Misty said to encourage her older sister, "We need to catch them!"
"Hey, I am all over it, Mist," Daisy said as she increased her speed. The two vehicles were then right beside each other, much to the astonishment of Cassidy and Butch!
"HEY, YOU CLOWNS!" Misty shouted at Team Rocket, "YOU GIVE OUR LUVDISC BACK! RIGHT NOW!"
Team Rocket never got the chance to respond as Daisy was pulling ahead of them, "We won!" Daisy cheered smuggly, getting completely carried away with all of the high speed driving.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE WON?!" Misty yelled at her sister. "THIS IS NOT A RACE IN ONE OF YOUR MOVIES, DAISY! WE HAVE TO STOP THOSE CROOKS!"
"Oh. Yeah…" Daisy said as she hit the brakes and completely blocked the road. "There, that should stop those crooks in their tracks!"
However, Daisy was soon proven wrong as Team Rocket's car suddenly turned and went over a cliff and towards the ocean, landing with a big splash! "See you later losers! Buh-bye!" Cassidy said as the hovercraft went over the sea.
Misty and Tracey groaned as they watched Team Rocket make their getaway. "Tochi Tochi…" Togetic asked, wanting to know how they would catch up to Team Rocket.
"We need to find a boat," Tracey said, "And fast! I will go and check the docks!"
"Or you could always use the inflatable boat that I have in the trunk," Daisy suggested.
"That would take too long to inflate," Misty pointed out, "And knowing how you are with helping others out, I think I have a better idea." She dug into her pockets before pulling out a Pokeball. "Gyarados, come on out and help us!" On her demands, the blue serpentine Pokemon came out of his Pokeball and into the ocean with a roar.
"Everyone, onto Gyarados' back!" Misty said as the three humans got onto the back of the Water/Flying Pokemon, with Tracey still carrying Caserin's container and Togetic on Misty's shoulder. "Alright then, Gyarados, follow that craft!"
Gyarados let out a mighty roar before swimming full speed ahead. The humans held on for dear life as they held onto the Atrocious Pokemon, with Tracey also having the task of making sure that he doesn't let go of Caserin.
"Wow," Tracey said, "Gyarados sure is a fast swimmer."
"Yeah," Misty commented, "I am glad I remembered to take some of my Pokemon for the chase. After all, it would have been very stupid of me to chase after Team Rocket without any of my Pokemon." (AN: Am I right, Shoji Yonemura?)
As Gyarados darted across the water, they spotted Team Rocket heading towards a series of small rocky islands.
"Looks like they are heading for that island there," Tracey said, pointing to one of the bigger islands, "The one with a tunnel running right through it."
"Let's see if we can stop them before they get there," Misty said, "Gyarados, give it all you got!"
Gyarados roared as it summoned all of its strength and charged forward until it caught up to Team Rocket's hovercraft. Then the giant Pokemon caught the back of the hovercraft with his teeth and started to shake it.
"Gah!" Butch screamed as he and Cassidy were thrown around the vehicle, the seatbelts saving them from any major injuries. "WHAT IS GOING ON?!"
"It's those dummies again!" Cassidy said, seeing Misty through the rearview mirror, a wide smile on her face. Gyarados shook the bad guys around a little more before throwing the vehicle towards one of the smaller islands, where it landed with a big "CRASH!" As Cassidy and Butch staggered out of their vehicle, Misty, Daisy, and Tracey got off Gyarados' back and headed onto the shore.
"Good job, Gyarados," Misty said, "Now take a nice long rest." Gyarados was returned to his Pokeball. She then headed towards Team Rocket with the others, thinking it would be easy getting Luverin back. After all, they looked pretty disheveled.
"Okay, you jerks," Daisy said, still in her 'High Speed Hannah' mood, "This is the end of the line for you!"
"That is what you think, sister!" Butch said as he threw spherical objects out of his pocket.
"You wanna battle? Fine!" Misty said as she put her hand in her pocket to reach for one of her Pokemon. But it became apparent that the spheres Butch threw were NOT Pokeballs, as when they collided with the ground, thick green gas came out.
"What… is… this…" Daisy asked, starting a coughing fit.
"I think it's… gas…" Tracey said, starting to feel drowsy.
"Gotta keep… awake…" Misty said. Togetic chirped in agreement, but pretty soon the three trainers and the Pokemon were out unconscious.
"Slick move there, Butch," Cassidy said with a smirk, "That will teach them a thing or two." They surveyed their adversaries.
"Yeah, and look there," Butch said as he pointed to the container where Caserin was, "We have the other Luvdisc too! Now we got them both, which could double Dr. Namba's chances of success."
"You're right," Cassidy agreed, "Then not only will we be known as the ones who helped rid love in the world, we're bound to land ourselves a big promotion! Now let's take our 'guests' into our base, and make them feel right at home!"
With a groan, Misty opened her eyes and moaned groggily. She was still suffering from the side effects of the knock-out gas somewhat as she got herself back on her feet. Her eyes wandered the little underground cell they were in as she saw Daisy and Tracey also waking up… but no Togetic. "Togetic?" She said, looking around, not helping her current situation with the knock-out gas at all.
"Tracey," Daisy asked, "What is going on?"
"It looks like we've been locked up in some sort of cave," Tracey said.
"Oh no!" Daisy cried, being a complete drama queen, "I just hate caves! How are we going to get out of here?"
"You're not getting out, glamor puss," replied a mocking voice. Turning towards the source of the voice, the three prisoners saw Cassidy and Butch standing on the other side of an opening sealed away by strong steel bars. "You are staying right here, along with OUR Luvdisc," Butch said. He gestured towards a nearby tank, where Caserin and Luverin were, totally helpless and dispirited.
"It's a lot nicer having a matching set," Cassidy said with glee.
"Now the little sweethearts won't get lonesome!" added Butch.
"Quick, Misty," Daisy said desperately, "Do something!"
"Can't you see I am looking for Togetic?!" Misty snapped at her
"Oh," Cassidy said with a smirk, "You don't need to worry about that little brat anymore, Missy. Or any of your other Pokemon for that matter." She gestured towards a nearby table, where all of the Pokeballs that Misty, Daisy, and Tracey brought with them were sitting. Togetic was in a cage, having already woken up and furiously trying to force her way out. "We took the liberty of relieving you of all of your Pokemon while you three dummies were sleeping."
"They will make a good bonus for Team Rocket," Butch said, "And serve as good revenge for how she humiliated us on North Mandarin Island and the lighthouse."
As soon as Cassidy and Butch left their prisoners, Tracey turned to the Waterflower sisters. "We have got to figure a way out of here!"
"Yes, but how?" Daisy said, "They took all of our Pokemon. This is such a disaster! Locked in a cave with only a single pair of shoes and no moisturizer!"
"Doesn't get any worse than that," Misty said, with sarcasm clear in her comment. She then realized something as she looked at the Luvdisc. "Even if we can't get to our Pokemon, they can still hear us!" She then turned her attention to the other side of the metal bars, where the Pokemon were. "Caserin, listen to me. I want you to perform an attack on the bars on your cage." She pointed to the very top of the cage. "If you use your tackle attack, you may be able to break them loose! Then you and Luverin will be able to get out of there!"
Caserin at first was not sure about doing it, but hearing the nickname Daisy gave his loved one lifted his spirits. He gathered all of his strength and charged through the water and burst through the surface. He rammed into the bars, but they were unyielding as he was forced down into the water. But he was undeterred as he kept trying again and again, for his sake and Luverin's, even as he was taking more and more damage from the collisions.
As he continued to try and knock the bars loose, nobody noticed that Luverin had a look in her eyes. At first, she had no interest in the male Luvdisc whatsoever. Not at Lake May, and not at the gym. But watching Caserin risk his own health for her sake, she softened up a lot towards her male counterpart. He was willing to go so far for her own sake.
"That's it, Caserin!" Misty said, "Put your whole heart into it!"
Looking at the bars, Caserin sped towards the surface in one last effort to free himself and his love interest. This time, the bars broke loose and the whole cage door was opened up!
"All right!" Misty said, "You did it, Caserin! Now you and Luverin get out of here!"
"But how?" Daisy asked.
Tracey pointed to the answer, "They can go through the window up there!" he said, pointing to a window with a clear view of the sky.
"Good idea," Misty said as she commanded her Luvdisc to use Water Gun to shatter the window. Caserin obeyed and pretty soon cracks started to form from the pressure of the water.
"Luverin," Daisy said, sensing hope, "Go help Luverin and use Water Gun as well!"
The tiara wearing Luvdisc followed Caserin's lead and used Water Gun. Misty then told Caserin to use Ice Beam on Luverin's Water Gun attack, resulting in a bridge of ice. It led from out of the tank to the grassy plain of the island.
"Alright, good job, you two!" Misty congratulated.
"Yeah, way to go," cheered Tracey as he punched the air.
But just then, Cassidy and Butch came into the room, seeing the entire stunt on their security system. And even though they were out of breath, they were PISSED.
"Oh bother," Misty said, "It is Cassidy and Grouch again."
"THE NAME IS BUTCH! CAN'T ANY OF YOU GET MY NAME RIGHT?!" Butch yelled, sounding more and more like an actual grouch.
"Making an escape bid?" Cassidy asked. "You think you are so clever…"
"Too bad you are not clever enough!" Butch said as he brought out the same drone that took Luverin away from the gym and sent it into the water tank.
"Caserin, use Double Team now!" Misty commanded. At Misty's words, Caserin made copies of himself and surrounded the drone.
"Which one is the real one?!" Butch asked as he frustratedly tried to find the real Luvdisc.
"He's there somewhere," Cassidy said, "Don't panic, Grouch."
"My name. Is not! GROUCH!" Butch snapped at the blonde Rocket. As the two Team Rocket members bickered, the Luvdisc took advantage of the opportunity and escaped along the ice bridge. By the time Cassidy and Butch realized what happened, it was too late. The Luvdisc were already free.
"They're getting away!" Cassidy said, "let's get a move on, Butch!"
"MY NAME IS BUTCH!" Butch declared before realizing what she said, "Oh, wait. That's what you said."
The green haired man tossed the remote aside and climbed after his partner out the window.
"At least Caserin and Luverin are free…" Tracey said.
"But how are WE going to get out of here?" Daisy whaled in desperation.
As if to answer the girl's question, one of Misty's Pokeballs started to shake, and Psyduck materialized on the desk.
Misty had a smile on her face, "Perfect timing, Psyduck! Now see if you can get our Pokemon through the bars!"
Psyduck gave a thumbs up before rolling all of the confiscated Pokeballs back to their trainers. "Thanks so much for being useful," Misty told her dopey duck Pokemon, "Feel free to pop out of your ball whenever you like."
"Psy…" Psyduck said as he blushed, his cheeks reminding Misty of a certain Pokemon.
Soon, the good guys were able to get themselves out of the cell thanks to the help of their Pokemon, and even managed to get Togetic free as well.
"Now that we are out of this dingey place, what now?" Daisy asked.
"We better get to the Luvdisc before Team Rocket does!" Tracey said.
"My thoughts exactly," Misty said, "Let's get going!"
Caserin and Luverin were continuing to jump across the grassy path in a bid to get away from Team Rocket, unaware their trainers were now free and coming to their rescue. They unfortunately reached a dead end: a cliff that was right above a raging river filled with sharp rocks.
"Ha! We've got you now!" Cassidy said.
"Now be good little Pokemon and come to daddy," Butch said as he and his comrade advanced towards the Luvdisc, both sporting the grins of horror movie villains.
Caserin jumped right in front of Luverin, who was reluctant to jump into the water despite her body being designed for a life in the water. But Caserin was not ready to surrender yet, as he nudged Luverin closer and closer to the edge before jumping over her and giving her a kiss on the lips! Cassidy and Butch were in shock as the two Pokemon jumped into the water below, the Pokemon's lips still locked.
"Oh no!" Cassidy shouted, "Their rendezvousing!"
They watched on as the two Luvdisc, instead of going "splat" on the rocks below, flapped their bodies like a butterfly flaps its wings and made their way to a calmer part of the river.
"Isn't it so romantic?" Butch asked in spite of himself.
"And so sweet!" Cassidy declared before she realized what she was saying and snapped out of it. "Oh, never mind this mushy stuff! After them!" And so Cassidy and Butch chased the two Luvdisc upstream, unaware that some unwanted company was right behind them…
"Do you see anything, Togetic?" Misty asked as she, Daisy, and Tracey were at the same cliffside where Cassidy and Butch tried to recapture the Luvdisc."
"Toge, toge!" Togetic said as she spotted a pair of pink dots floating along the river from the sky… and they were swimming towards what looked like a great line… no doubt a trap set up by Team Rocket. She pointed towards the direction as she headed back to the trainer's level.
"Perfect," Misty said before hugging her 'daughter', "I don't know how I would be able to live my life without you by my side, Togetic."
"Tog-tic," Togetic said before the humans made their move.
Meanwhile, the two Luvdisc continued to swim down the river when they came across a gate. Confused by it, they turned around only for another gate to rise up out of the water! They looked up and saw Cassidy and Butch standing there, looking smug.
"We can't let you get away!" declared Butch.
"Yeah, we need you to help us eliminate love from the world!" Cassidy added, "Let's do it, Butch!"
The Team Rocket members proceeded to throw Pokeballs in order to prevent the Luvdisc from making any further escapes.
"Mightyena!" Butch said.
"Sableye, go!" Cassidy said as the two Dark-type Pokemon came out of their Pokeballs to intimidate Caserin and Luverin.
"Now," Cassidy said, "Are you two lovebirds going to behave, or is there going to be trouble?"
"Oh, they'll behave," Butch said with confidence. However, he was soon forced to eat his words as Caserin gave the green-haired man a Water Gun to the face.
"Alright you brats, that does it," Cassidy said in a fierce tone. She commanded her Sableye to use a Fury Attack. Sableyeye went in to attack, but stopped at the edge. "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!" Cassidy asked the Pokemon as if she were a drill sergeant, "CAN'T YOU SWIM?!" Sableye just gave Cassidy a look before the blonde fainted in frustration.
"Okay, little squirts," Butch said as he pulled out a remote, "See how you like this!" When he pressed the button, the gates were moving closer and closer together… they were nets! Cassidy and Butch were smiling, sure that there was no way for them to escape now…
"There they are!" a voice shouted. Cassidy, Butch, and their Pokemon turned around and saw Misty, Daisy, Tracey, and Togetic running towards them.
"Don't worry you guys," Tracey said, "We are coming!"
"Caserin!" Misty shouted.
"Luverin!" Daisy shouted.
Both Luvdisc looked to their trainers as Misty gave a command, "Use your Agility, now!"
A moment before the net closed in on them, both Luvdisc sped away, much to the shock of Team Rocket and their Pokemon. "Caserin, Luverin, if we want to beat Team Rocket, then you two are going to have to work together!" Caserin and Luverin said their species names in agreement as the battle soon began.
"Luverin, get Caserin up in the air," Daisy said as Luverin used Water Gun to launch her partner into the air.
"Okay, Mightyena, Iron Tail! GO!" Butch told his Pokemon. Mightyena went in for the attack.
"Caserin, use Water Gun!" Misty said as the male Pokemon hit Mightyena when he got close enough, launching the evolved form of Poochyena backwards. Both Luvdisc were back on land. "Good job, but it isn't over yet!"
"Got that right," Cassidy said, "Sableye, use Shadow Ball!"
Sableye made a ball of ghostly energy before hurling it at the Luvdisc.
"Luverin, use Water Gun," Daisy said, unable to look at her Pokemon potentially getting injured.
"Caserin, use Ice Beam!" Misty said.
The tiara-wearing Luvdisc expelled water from her mouth, while her counterpart shot out a cold beam. Both collided and slowed the Shadow Ball down, eventually freezing Sableye's attack in midair! As it came down, Team Rocket looked shocked, "Look, Cassidy, they froze the Shadow Ball," Butch said, stating the obvious.
"That is so NOT fair!" declared Cassidy.
"Go, Mightyena, Hyper Beam, now!" Butch said as his canine Pokemon charged up a beam of energy from his mouth.
"Luverin, counter with Sweet Kiss!" Daisy said. Butch was confused by what "Sweet Kiss" was. He soon found out what the move did as a heart came out of Luverin's snout and moved towards Mightyena. When it landed, Mightyena started to wobble back and forth as he fell under the spell of confusion.
"Mightyena," Butch said, "What's wrong with you?!"
Mightyena then proceeded to fire his attack… at Cassidy and Butch!
"Alright," said Tracey, "Now send them packing!"
"Aha!" The Waterflower Sisters said, "Caserin/Luverin, LoveLove Water Gun now!"
Caserin and Luverin faced each other before they both launched an intertwining Double Water Gun that made its way to a panicked Team Rocket. A massive explosion happened, and soon they were sent shooting for the stratosphere.
"Oh no, look at our Pokemon!" Cassidy said. Sure enough, Mightyena and Sableye were rendezvousing with each other despite not being in the same egg group.
"Now is not the time to get all lovey-dovey," Butch grunted.
"TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" Cassidy and Butch said as they vanished into the sky with a "ding"!
"That's what you get when you try to mess with Pokemon and love!" Misty shouted towards the sky.
"To-chee-ka!" Togetic said in agreement.
Soon, the group headed back to the gym, with Caserin and Luverin both safe. And with the two Luvdisc getting along much better, Daisy's show went off without a hitch. (And if you asked, Violet and Lily played the prince and mermaid respectively.) Everyone loved the show, especially the part where Caserin and Luverin fired off their love hearts. At least, that is what she heard from Daisy and Tracey, as the Cerulean Gym Leader decided she had enough excitement for one day and retired to her room when they got back to the gym. The former was bringing the latter back to the gym, which gave Misty plenty of time to tell Ash about the day's events and check in on him.
Ever since their little reunion in the Hoenn region, Ash and his friends continued to Fallarbor Town for May's Pokemon contest, and have had quite the amount of adventures along the way. May managed to catch herself a Skitty not long after they left, and they met some new and old faces along the way. Upon arriving in Fallarbor Town, the group met up with Drew again, and Ash had a little battle with the green-haired coordinator. And today was the day of the contest, which at first went pretty rocky because the TRio were selling fake Pokeblocks before the contest, and Jessie cheated to try and win (before being knocked out by May). And it wasn't Ash who sent her the highlights of the contest, but rather May. Togetic enjoyed them before Misty got to work on her email.
Hey Ash! Glad to hear that you are learning from a trainer with a different skill set from you, even if it took a little convincing from me. Tracey's visit to the gym went pretty well for the most part, as he loved our new Pokemon. But of course, he wasn't the only "friend" who stopped by the gym today. Cassidy and Biff from Team Rocket decided to drop into the gym and steal our Luvdisc, something about removing love from the world; that sounds pretty stupid, and I am not saying that just because I am a girl. We ended up beating them, the Luvdisc especially as they finally bonded with each other, which is a good thing. As for May's contest, tell her that Togetic enjoyed seeing the highlights of the show, and she definitely deserved that first ribbon! Talk to you soon!
Misty.
Misty looked over her email before hitting the "SEND" button.
And so, Misty and her Pokemon have shown once again that the power of love conquers all. Will it help her conquer her next challenge? Well, there is only one way to find out, and that is to stay tuned!
