Sasuke Uchiha was exhausted. For three days straight Kakashi physically trained him to his breaking point and pushed him past it. He may have hated his teacher because of it, but he was much stronger for it as well. Now he was due for a day of rest before going off once again to learn a technique that made him famous in the first place.
When he opened his door he was greeted by the fox kits happily yelping at him for being home. Slipping out of his sandals he noticed that the couch was ruffled showing that Naruto must have recently left to endure his own harsh training under Zabuza...the mere thought of that man training someone sent shivers down his spine.
"So where did the dobe go, can you tell me?" He lightly asked Ichigo, Sasuke only got a yip in response that caused him to lightly chuckle. "Out, huh? That's typical of him. Has he fed you yet?" When Benihime shook her head, he frowned in response. That was unusual of his teammate, he always made sure they were fed. Oh well, he could handle it this time. "All right let me shower first and then I'll feed you."
The first thing Sasuke did was head to his bedroom to get some clean clothes before he hopped into the shower to wash the filth and grime off his tired body. He expected the usual, his full sized bed, a open closet with his various outfits, and his night stand on the right side of his bed with an alarm clock on it. Nothing special.
What he did not expect was his teammate in his bed completely unmasked being cuddled by Hinata Hyuuga and Tenten Higarashi in the most affectionate manner possible. Sasuke stood in front of his doorway, openly gaping at the sight.
"This...this can't be real...this is just a hallucination from when Kakashi-sensei kicked me in the head." Sasuke said to himself in denial. There was no way shy Hinata would ever cuddle next to her not-so-obvious crush with another girl in the same bed!
"Nope it's real." Feeling a weight on his head, Sasuke froze when the figure laughed behind him. "Ah the kid is a natural! Two girls at such a young age, I'm so proud."
Jerking from the elbow resting on his head, Sasuke's eyes widened seeing Jiraiya of the the fucking Sannin standing in front of him with a shit-eating grin on his face. "Heya kid, you must be Sasuke. Naruto told me all about ya."
"What the hell is going on here!?" The Last Uchiha lost all composure and loudly demanded.
"Ahh!" Naruto was the first to wake up screaming and flew towards the noise, tacking his teammate in a half-sleep stupor filled with fear and adrenaline. "Screw off you ghost-eyed bastards, it'll be a cold day in hell when you take Hinata away!"
"Get off me you idiot!" Sasuke screamed, he punched his teammate right in the face, only to get a knee to his belly. Gritting his teeth he used all his strength and momentum to flip Naruto onto his back. "What the hell were you doing in my bed!?"
"Sasuke...oh shit." Naruto groaned in displeasure. Calming down the blonde peered over his teammates shoulder to see both Hinata and Tenten looking at the both of them, using the blankets to cover themselves, and both looking quite embarrassed from being caught. He then looked at the smirking faces of the fox kits. "You couldn't have alerted me?"
"And miss seeing what happens? No way pops." Ichigo replied.
Visibly frowning Naruto groaned before saying. "Long story short, the Hyuuga Clan banished Hinata for losing against Gaara. They were going to put her in the Branch Family, Tenten stopped them, and here they are."
His right eye twitching, Sasuke groaned in disgruntlement before getting off his teammate. "You are a magnet for trouble. But why my bed?"
"They did not want to be alone, and the couch was not big enough." Naruto bluntly said as if it wasn't obvious. "Nothing happened other than sleeping."
Lightly rubbing his eyes the Uchiha turned towards Jiraiya. "And why is a Sannin here?"
"...Yea why are you here?" Naruto demanded.
Giving his student an annoyed look, the Toad Sage huffed in response. "You're the one who sent a bunch of shadow clones out. One of them found me and screamed his head off about the entire situation. I got here just in the nick of time otherwise Hiashi and ten other Hyuuga's would have barged into this tiny apartment."
"Really? Wow...thanks, I-I honestly cannot say this enough."
"Ah don't mention it kid, though I suggest you get dressed. Sensei is mighty irked from this. Sasuke I think you should go too since this is your apartment and...well you're kind of involved in this now. I'll stay here and watch over the girls."
Sasuke leveled a glare at his teammate blonde head, how he became a full blonde was not his concern for now. What mattered was that he opened a can of worms, and now he was dragged into this mess. "You're going to explain everything by the time we get to the tower dobe."
"That's fair teme...that's fair." Naruto sighed out.
(Hokage Tower)
Hiruzen Sarutobi was really getting too old for his job. Not only did he have to deal with his old student planning something nefarious to destroy his village, but he had to deal with an escaped spy, and he had to deal with the Hyuuga's acting like a bunch of jackasses. And now he was dealing with the latest of his headaches that this Chunin Exams were giving him.
"Hokage-sama, for the last time I insist-"
"And Zosui I have told you for the tenth time we cannot find the bodies of your Genin team." Hiruzen said to a stern man who had fair skin, black hair that was combed back and reached his shoulders in length, grey pupiless eyes. He was wearing the Kusagakure Haitai-ate on his forehead, a dark brown-grey kimono like shirt with cream outlines, black pants, a white robe tied around his waist, and black sandals.
"Then why do I not believe you, this would be the perfect time for your village to harvest village secrets with you so conveniently not being able to find a body."
Hiruzen glared at the Jonin with a good lacing of killing intent behind it. "How dare you accuse the Hokage in his own village of doing something so nefarious." If he wasn't known for being so calm and collected, Zosui would have lost his head right then and there. "In a gesture of goodwill between villages, mine makes sure that if there are any fatalities we do our absolute best to return the Genin to their proper villages. We did that with Team Shiore in case you have forgotten."
Zosui frowned and used all his willpower to not clench his fists. He remembered the faceless bodies being returned to their sensei, he also remembered the man reporting it to the families...or should he say family? Shiore was was the only one who came from a wealthy family, the other two were just orphans. Little to say his fellow Jonin was catching a lot of hell, he did not want to suffer the same fate. "I still request the bodies."
"Then go to the Forest of Death yourself." Hiruzen snapped, he finally lost all patience for this man. "I wanted to spare you the details, but your Genin team was eaten by a bear."
"What?"
"Team Shigeri or should I say what remained of them were found by members of my Anbu. They were found in a cave that hosted one of the many bears found in the village, we found only a few bones, their village Hitai-ates and a pair of broken glasses." Hiruzen mentally smirked when he saw Zosui's eyes widen. "I only wanted to spare you the details of their horrid fate."
Zosui clenched his teeth in response. They were eaten by a bear? Impossible. But he wasted too much time attempting to negotiate with the old fool of a Kage. He would have to back down...for now. "I must inform my leader of this...good day Hokage-sama." The Grass Jonin then turned and left the office with a huff in his voice.
Once he was long gone, the Sandaime let out a light sigh of relief. "The things I do for my village. Team Seven you're making an older man out of me."
The intercom on his desk then flared to life with his assistant speaking over it. "Hokage-sama, Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki are here, should I buzz them through?"
And speak of the devils, there was another problem he needed to deal with. "Sent them in, and cancel the rest of my meetings for today."
A few minutes later both Naruto and Sasuke entered his office. The former by the cracked mask he was wearing looked exhausted, the latter looked grumpy, apparently Sasuke learned of what happened last night and was not at all happy...that made two of them.
"So...what are we going to do?" Naruto bluntly asked, there was no use skirting around this situation.
"I don't suppose you have any bright ideas?" Hiruzen tiredly asked.
"Ishikawa is at a loss other than the Biju option. I don't have a clue what to do."
"And it involves me now, and as you already know my clan isn't the super power it used to be." Sasuke said with a pronounced frown on his face. "Honestly dobe, you're a magnet for trouble."
"Says the guy who offered asylum to a girl he just met."
"Bite me dobe."
"Actually Sasuke, Naruto is right. This has turned out to be more of a big deal than I figured it would be. This...Karin is of great importance to her village, and her sensei has been nipping at me to give up her body. I had to tell him she was eaten by a bear." Hiruzen reported to the both of them. "He is not going to give up on this, and neither is Hiashi regarding Hinata."
"And lets not forget about Tenten assaulting one of their elders, and that Sound team and Kimimaro's situation." The blonde loudly sighed out. "They are going to throw the book at her, we'll have foreign Genin from a village that was created by one of Konohagakure's biggest traitors, and even if Kimimaro survives whatever is going on with him he'll be the last Kaguya. You know how people are with Kekkei Genkai's, especially rare ones."
"Why do you think I go out of my to stay away from girls? I'm like some sort of prime meat with awesome eyes." Sasuke growled out.
That actually caused Hiruzen to stiffen, blink his eyes several times before he violently palmed his face and began laughing. It actually caused the two Genin to look at their village leader like he lost his mind. "I cannot believe I did not think of this sooner. The both of you just fixed this dilemma for me!" The old Kage laughed out.
"What do you mean by that?" Naruto demanded. Sasuke however had a dreadful feeling forming in the pit of his stomach.
"The both of you are the last of your respective clans!" The Sandaime exclaimed, he didn't mention that they both had Uchiha blood, but his point remained the same. "The Uzumaki, the Uchiha...both your clans have something very special about them. Sasuke your eyes, Naruto your chakra and longevity...this means you both fall under the CRA."
"CRA?" Naruto questioned.
"Clan Restoration Act...Sandaime-sama no...I beg that you reconsider. There has to be another option." Sasuke pleaded.
Ishikawa only began laughing at their expense. "This is some shady politics, but I cannot help but be proud Blondie! Now those two girls don't need to worry about stepping on each others toes."
'Shut up Ishi!'
"If the other option is to lose all you have fought for, then yes that is the other option." Hiruzen looked at the two youths in front of him. The both of them held such promise that it gave his old heart joy thinking of a future when he was gone. "This needs to be documented of course with a clan head and a witness...you can come out now Jiraiya."
"Hehe, can't hide from you now can I?" The large form of Jiraiya lightly chuckled as he climbed through the window.
"What the hell are you doing here? You're supposed to be at the apartment!" Naruto freaked out on his teacher.
"I got three clones back there, don't worry kid all is well." The Toad Sage replied before leaning against the wall of the office. "So multiple brides, the both of you are so lucky."
"Oh shut up Ero-sennin!"
"Respect your elders brat!"
"I hate the both of you." Sasuke gritted out.
Hiruzen only chuckled in reply. While this was completely unexpected, this was the lesser of two evils. Both Tenten and Hinata would be safe under not only Naruto's care, but also his and Sasuke's clan since the both of them were related, even if it was distant relations. Finally, it seemed everything was going smoothly for once.
(Later that Night)
Kabuto was annoyed, no scratch that, he was furious. After escaping he used everything in his skill set to hide and evade capture. He had to locate any and all safe houses that were not exposed to his knowledge and heal himself.
Kabuto used a lot of chakra in that time, the injuries Anko dealt to him, and the loss of his eye was no small thing to heal, and even then he needed to properly escape so he could operate on himself. He had to actually reach out to his allies in order to establish a some sort of escape route, or at the very least a distraction.
That was why Baki of Sunagakure was in the meeting spot near the Chunin Stadium. He had already scouted the entire area, there was no one within two miles of the place, they were safe to talk for now. But he didn't know for how long. "You look like hammered hell kid."
"I know that Baki. For almost two weeks I had my mind walked through by Inoichi Yamanaka, mentally tortured by Ibiki Morino and physically tortured by Anko Mitarashi. I'm low on chakra, I'm missing my right eye, and I am low on patience. So are you going to get me out of this village or not!?" The frustrated spy hotly demanded.
"Easy kid. I have a way out for you, by the end of tonight Orochimaru will have his little spy back in his fold."
Kabuto narrowed his single eye behind his stolen Anbu mask. "And how can you do that with your Genin team in the village? Do they even know that you're here?"
"What they know is unimportant. All they know is that our invasion will begin soon." Baki snapped his lone eye to the right. "But first...we must deal with a little rat problem."
"And here I thought you scouted the area." Kabuto lowly said.
"He is very good." Baki grumbled before perusing whoever was spying on them of all people. They didn't need to travel far though before catching the figure who confronted them one one of the many rooftops.
"The proctor of the preliminaries. How unexpected." Kabuto lightly remarked to the chronic coughing Special Jonin.
"Everyone has been looking for you Kabuto Yakushi...but I am surprised Orochimaru allied himself with Sunagakure." Hayate lowly said before unsheathing his katana. "I'm going to report this to Hokage-sama after taking you both down."
"Hmph, allow me. Deal with this nuisance." Baki stepped forward and unsheathed a kunai. "Save your chakra Kabuto. This won't take long."
"No...I won't." Letting off a few coughs, Hayate disappeared in a burst of speed. "Dance of the Crescent Moon!" Creating two shadow clones he began to assault Baki, with the clones attacked from the left and right while he began attacking from above.
The Sand Jonin did not see it coming, he was honestly surprised to see someone so young executing such a high-level move. The sharp blades bit into his flak vest, he felt it cut through flesh and his blood leaked from the fresh wounds. But he did not die, in fact the cuts were too shallow and became stuck in his vest. With a smirk on his face as the clones disappeared he grabbed the blade with his left hand and extended his right.
"A valiant effort, I praise your skills but it was not enough." Baki extend his index and middle fingers and materialized his wind nature chakra to create a near invisible blade. "Now fall to your knees in defeat! Wind Sword!"
Hayate cried out in surprise and denial as he felt his body rip asunder. From his right hip to his left shoulder he felt a sharp blade cut through him, the powerful wind blast sent him flying away until he impacted the tiled roof, breaking away a few tiles on impact. Blood rushed from the wound and began to pool around him, it instantly soaked through his clothing and he found it impossible to breathe.
"Yugao...I'm so sorry." He pathetically coughed out before expiring on that roof top all alone.
Kabuto looked in Baki's direction with distaste. "Great, now I got to clean up your mess. You're bleeding everywhere." He then glanced over in Hayate's direction. As ticked off as he was at the brutish Jonin, he had to admit that Baki gave him the opportunity to acquire more DNA for Orochimaru's research.
(The Next Day)
"You've been out all night kid, perhaps it's time to break the news." Ishikawa said, looking down on Naruto's exhausted form.
After the Sandaime had them sign the CRA papers, with him as the legal clan head while Jiraiya was the witness, both Naruto and Sasuke were now legally entitled to take on a multitude of wives to revive both the Uzumaki and Uchiha Clans respectively. The both of them were entitled to having between three to ten plus wives to help restore their clan when they came of age. While it may have sounded like a dream come true for any man, to both Naruto and Sasuke it was a nightmare.
This was the worst case scenario for the Uchiha. He had gone out of his way to keep himself free of the rabid fangirls, and greedy prominent civilian families who would literally sell their daughters off to gain status in his clan. If they were married in, then that meant they would have a say in what went on in clan affairs, which was something he wanted to avoid like the plague. But now he was back to square one and would have to deal with that stuff all over again.
But for Naruto, while he was descended from a clan that was allied with the village before their demise, his dilemma was a little more personal. How exactly was he going to break the news to both Hinata and Tenten? He couldn't just go up to them and say; "Hey guess what, in order to not get enslaved or executed you gotta marry me. Congrats! And there will be more others by the way." That would not end well for anyone.
So to try and solve their problems the two of them went to the Forest of Death and trained together. Jiraiya showed up and wiped the floor with the both of them when they tried to team up to take the Sannin on. Sad to say they did not even come close to touching the older man, he was leagues above them. It also didn't help that Kakashi found them after the Toad Sannin beat them both to a pulp and had to literally drag Sasuke away to continue his own training regiment. He did ask Naruto if he wanted to come along, but the blonde waved them off he would get home by himself.
Which leads us up to now.
"Ishi...tell me something does Iwagakure have the CRA?" He mumbled into the ground.
"Well I think every country with the exception of Water Country has it, but I personally haven't seen it go into effect. Shinigami knows my clan could have used it when the Aburame's nearly wiped us out." The deceased Chunin replied with a huff. "Are you really that hung up over it? I mean the girls like you, they even agreed to share you when you were unconscious back in that exam tower."
"Well tell me do you think anyone would be happy in that sort of relationship?"
"Honestly it depends...I mean polygamy and harems in general vary. I honestly think it depends on the women."
Raising an eyebrow the blonde slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position. "What do you mean by that?"
"No women is the same, even identical twins are different. A woman could do this, but only because her village leader demands her of this but won't like it and I bet would bail after a child is old enough to walk. She could also love the man unconditionally and wouldn't mind him sharing a woman or two, if only to be with him and him alone. You however..." Ishikawa looked at him and idly rubbed his chin. "That Hinata girl loves you, even I can see that much. I know she would to almost anything to be with you. But that Tenten girl has developed feeling for you recently, and while she is willing to put up with Hinata because she doesn't have anything to fear from her she could easily go the other way and bug out from a relationship with you entirely."
"So what you're saying is everything is up to chance with me?" Naruto deadpanned.
"Oh yea, definitely. They might go for it, they might not go for it. Even that Haku girl is-"
"All right that is enough I honestly don't want to think about this anymore." Standing up, Naruto brushed off the dirt and twigs from his battered outfit. "I'm tired, I ache all over, and I want some damn ramen. Thinking about this is not going to do me any favors."
"Well you gotta go home sometime. I mean you can't have Jiraiya's clones looking after them in your clothing. Lets not forget Tenten has a family that is more than likely worried about her, and Hinata has a sensei that thinks of her as a little sister."
Naruto only clutched his head feeling a migraine coming on. Was this what the old man felt whenever something happened? "One thing at a time...I'll talk to them first, and deal with Hiroshi and Kurenai-sensei at a later date."
Nothing else needed to be said between them, this was a screwed up situation made worse by circumstances. But Naruto was going to take his lumps and roll with it until things started to make sense again. He left the Forest of Death and made his way home jumping from rooftop to rooftop, it was not unusual for a ninja to do it, by now it was just commonplace.
What was not commonplace was Naruto running into Hayate Gekko standing on a rooftop in a daze. His attention was focused on what looked to be bloodstained bits of tile, he also seemed to be mumbling to himself.
"Hayate-san?" Naruto called out to him, did he arrive where a murder was just cleaned up? "Hayate-san, are you okay?"
"Uzumaki?" Hayate snapped out of his daze before his eyes widened, making them look almost comical thanks to the dark marking under his eyes. He then unsheathed his katana and pounced towards him. "Duck!"
"What the hell!?" Ishikawa leapt back when he felt the shark blade slice into his Chunin vest, he had to actually duck and evade for the first time since he died. "Hey! Whoa! What's you're problem cough boy!?"
"First Orochimaru, then Sunagakure, how many allies does he have to bring down the village!" Hayate swung his blade upwards, nicking Ishikawa's nose. The Special Jonin flipped back and readied his sword. "Secret Sword: Moonlight!"
"Hey! Hey! Enough!" Naruto jumped in front of Ishikawa with his arms thrown out. Hayate stopped, it was brief, but it gave Naruto all the time he needed. Putting two and two together he deducted exactly what was going on. "Hayate-san...you're dead."
"What...no I'm not I'm just..."
"Hey relax dude, no need to go anymore crazy on me." Ishikawa slowly raised his arms in a surrendering position. Honestly why wasn't he armed? "Listen, the kid's right. You're dead, just like me. Though why you haven't crossed over is beyond me."
"Handanryoku is also supposed to send someone to their well deserved rest." Naruto unsheathed the sword, but it did nothing regarding Hayate who looked at the both of them like they were insane. "Hey Shinigami, I know you're not supposed to interfere in mortal affairs again, but mind dropping some knowledge my way?"
"Shinigami?" Hayate asked in confusion. "What in the-"
"Trust me dude, it's a long story. Just go with the flow." Ishikawa instructed his fellow specter. The man didn't seem to be agitated anymore, and he certainly lost any fight he had in him.
Hayate was about to ask another question before Naruto perked up like he was just hit with some new information. He lightly rubbed the side of his head before looking right at his fellow Leaf shinobi. "Huh, apparently you're a earthbound spirit. Unlike Ishi, you're stuck here until you can resolve whatever is keeping you bound here."
"I don't understand. All I remember was chasing..." Hayate then clutched his head in agony, he was beginning to remember something. "Kabuto Yakushi escaped...he met up with a Sand Jonin. The sensei of the three Genin in the village, they had an alliance and he..." Hayate placed his hands where his fatal wound was, or should have been. "He killed me."
"A Sand-Sound Alliance?" Naruto fiercely palmed his masked face. It just continued escalating to the point where it was just ludicrous. Placing his fingers in the familiar cross seal the blonde created a single clone. "Go to the old man and tell him what is going on."
"All right boss." Clone Naruto lightly saluted his creator before bounding off towards the Hokage Tower to give the old Kage a heart attack.
"Ishi...mind telling Hayate-san exactly what is going on with me and everything that comes with it? I need to nip my own situation in the bud before it escalates."
"All right Blondie, I can do that." Ishikawa said before throwing an arm around the Special Jonin's shoulder. The poor guy just looked downright confused and conflicted. "Hayate, you're a ghost now. The faster you accept this the better, it has its perks and downsides, but that is for another time. You see Naruto here died way before us and a lot of weird stuff happened..."
Naruto left them to talk it over, he felt that this information was better left with the Hokage, it he summoned him...then he would have to explain himself...again. Shinigami dammit he hoped that would not be the case!
Upon entering his shared apartment he was greeted by the smiling faces of both Ichigo and Benihime. Removing his sandals he leaned down and affectionately rubbed their heads. "Hey there guys, are the girls? I need to talk to them."
"They're in the bedroom pops. Well the white-eyed on is, the panda one is in the shower. The perverted toad sent one of his clones to get them some proper clothes since you didn't return home last night." Ichigo yipped out.
"I can explain this...hopefully." Naruto swallowed his fear into his stomach before he approached the bedroom door. He politely knocked upon it. "Hinata...you got a minute?"
"O-ne minute I'm nearly done." Wait what? Done with what? The door then unlocked and Hinata emerged from it. Naruto's eyes comically widened behind his mask and he had to take a step back to make sure he wasn't hallucinating.
Gone was the hospital gown, or more specifically his clothes she used as pajamas. When she walked out she was wearing a pair of navy blue pants that went to mid-calf, a creamy white shirt that exposed her midriff and a lavender vest that was left open. She looked a tad bit embarrassed and was actually trying to tug the shirt down a bit with no success.
"Wow...just wow." Naruto honestly couldn't smartly form any words, she looked pretty damn good.
"I feel a little under dressed." Hinata admitted before giving up on her shirt. "J-Jiraiya-sama brought these clothes to us half an hour ago."
"Of course he did." Naruto deadpanned, what a pervert.
Jiraiya then peaked at them from the window completely upside down in a indigenous manner. "Don't think bad of me brat, I only sent one of my clones to do some shopping so they wouldn't have to lay around your clothes...not that I saw them complaining of course."
'Damn it Ero-sennin.' Naruto only looked at his teacher but didn't press the issue. It was honestly a nice gesture so he was going to give the older man the benefit of the doubt. "Was there any trouble while you pummeled me into submission?"
"Yea, a red-eyed woman showed up screaming at me that she needed to see Hinata. I forcefully sent her away because she was causing a scene. Hiroshi also came around, and I let him in because he wasn't threatening to cause physical harm to me." The Toad Sage replied, "He knows the situation, but would like to talk with you."
"Oh for Shinigami's sake." Naruto pulled the mask off and clipped it onto his belt.
"He was actually calm about everything, he even praised me for doing the right thing." Tenten opened the door revealing that she was wearing a white sleeveless, high-collared qipao dress with red trimmings and a orange pattern on the left, tied with a red obi. Naruto eyes also widened, leaving Jiraiya to snicker from his reaction. "And thank you Jiraiya-sama for the clothes, they're a little much but I like them."
"I'm just glad I got the sizes mostly correct." The Sannin replied.
"Yea, um...good job." Thinking about cute puppies and kittens on fire, Naruto banished any impure thoughts from his brain. "I'm glad you're all here because...this situation involving you is going to end up with you guys happy or unhappy."
"What exactly do you mean by that?" Tenten raised an eyebrow in questioning, it didn't help that Jiraiya was giving them a shit-eating grin.
"You both might want to sit down for this." Naruto used the ten seconds for both Hinata and Tenten to cross the room to sit on the couch for him to steel his nerves. Turning towards them he spilled his guts. "All right...at first we thought you both were screwed regarding the Hyuuga Clan. Sasuke knows this, and so does the old man. But in a dumb stroke of brilliance from the both of us the Hokage gave both me and Sasuke CRA rights."
While Tenten looked a little confused, Hinata immediately knew what that meant. "The Clan Restoration Act?"
"Bingo. Sasuke and I are the last of our clans in more ways than one." He activated the Kurashagan, making both girls jump back in surprise. "Other than the Hokage, Inoichi Yamanaka, and Jiraiya, no one else knows that I got Uchiha blood running through my veins. I'm distantly related to Sasuke, and due to my...situation my own Sharingan evolved into what I like to call the Kurashagan. It has everything but the hypnosis powers and any genjutsu is nonexistent." Deactivating his eyes Naruto ran his right hand through his spiky blonde hair. "And as far as anyone knows I am the last Uzumaki, I got the rundown that we got great chakra reserves, a long lifespan, and a talent for Fuinjutsu."
"Which I'll make damn sure you can do blindfolded by the time I'm done with you!" Jiraiya called out.
"...Thanks Ero-sennin." Naruto sighed out before turning towards the both of them. "So in order to keep the both of you safe legally, I can either make you a vassal of the Uzumaki Clan, or...a potential wife. I just want you all to know that."
"Wow...this is a lot to take in." Tenten stated the obvious. Her cheeks were pink from hearing this, a harem for Naruto...that was something she did not see coming. "How many are you supposed to take?"
"Between four and ten, but exceeding my limit isn't frowned upon..." Naruto snapped out of any and impure thoughts before quickly exclaiming. "But I have not even thought about it yet! I mean barely two days ago I literally just learned that you both liked me, and for this to happen is just screwed up. But I figured that the both of you deserved to know what is going on, and if the two of you bug out I would understand but I just-"
"Naruto I think you should shut up for a minute." Tenten stopped him before he began to mindlessly rant. She was conflicted about all this. A part of her was appalled, but another was actually excited. Sharing him with Hinata was one thing, her fellow Genin loved him was before she did. But on the other hand she couldn't help but think of who else would take an interest in the blonde. But before her thoughts went off the rails she turned her attention towards Hinata who was too quiet for her own good. "Hinata, how are you holding up?"
"I...I don't know." Hinata truthfully said. That certainly rocked Naruto on his heels a bit. She then looked up at him, and staring him square in the eyes she asked. "N-Naruto-kun, how do you feel about this?"
"I think this whole situation sucks, that's what I think!" Naruto loudly exclaimed. "None of us have even gone on an appropriate date yet, and yet here I am saying eventually marry me under the protection of the Uzumaki, Uchiha and a small alliance with the Sarutobi Clan or die and get enslaved. This is not fair to either of you and I hate that."
Hinata looked down and softly smiled, any other guy would have jumped at the chance to have multiple wives without a second thought. But he thought about them first, and that made a big difference in her decision. While Naruto had his eyes closed and was tearing at his hair, the former Hyuuga grabbed one of Tenten's hands and gave her a nod.
Tenten's brown eyes widened a little bit before she smiled and nodded back at her friend. This was not some random guy, but Naruto they were talking about. He was beating himself up over this more than anyone else. This wasn't ideal, but who knows it honestly could be fun. "Naruto cool your jets and listen to us."
Stopping in his tracks, the blonde blinked as both women stood up and looked square at him. Tenten put her hands on her hips and spoke first. "We're...not going to exactly roll over and say yes. But we aren't saying no either."
"Wait, what?" When did they decide that, was this some sort of telepathy for women that he didn't know about?
"We do like you, but...we aren't going to share you with just anyone." Hinata strongly said. "If we do fully decide to go along with what Hokage-sama suggested."
"Which we haven't yet." Tenten added.
"But if we do...we decide who gets added in or not." Hinata finished, her cheeks atomic red. "Deal?"
Minus Jiraiya and the fox kits snickering, Naruto was at a loss. He even used Jagan to read their minds and sure enough they weren't exactly happy with the idea, but at the same time there weren't opposed to it. The condition however was solid, neither of them would sway on it. And that was fine by him.
"All right, lets just see where this goes first. When the Chunin Exams finally end you can decide what you want to do. As for me I am starving, and I know you two haven't had anything other than leftovers from the fridge." At least he hoped they did, otherwise he would feel very bad that they starved themselves while he was acting like a coward. "Do you two want to come with me? I mean it's only to Ichiraku's but at least we'll be welcomed there."
His fellow Genin glanced at each other before turning back to him. "All right, looks like this can count as our first official date Romeo." Tenten teasingly said.
Jiraiya laughed so hard he lost control of his chakra and fell flat on his head from the roof. Naruto only lightly palmed his face. 'I just hope the old man is having a better time with his stuff than I am.'
(Hokage Tower, Council Chambers – Meanwhile)
"Order...I said order!" Hiruzen slammed the gavel for the second time. This was not going as expected, not even remotely close to how he pictured it. Especially after he learned of Hayate Gekko's death, and a certain ghost-seeing Genin delivering some unfortunate news.
He called the Shinobi Council because this involved shinobi affairs, the first thing to go wrong was when Hibari Haruno tried to force herself in. Apparently the woman did not know the difference between shinobi and civilian affairs and demanded she take a seat, Hiruzen then forced her out thanks to his trusted Anbu and slapped on a disturbing the peace and disregarding orders from her village leader. From there he would have them dig and send both her and her husband to the darkest hole the village could provide thanks to Sakura's testament of her conspiracy and underhanded dealings.
After that was settled he told them about his decision regarding the CRA status of Sasuke Uchiha, and Naruto Uzumaki.
Predictably the last one raised some concerns.
"Hokage-sama, I mean no disrespect but are you sure that is a wise decision?" Inoichi Yamanaka asked, other than the Hokage, he was the only one on the council to see into the boys mind and quite frankly he still didn't know what to think. "I agree for Uchiha-san, but what exactly does Uzumaki-san bring to the table?"
"I am also curious, the boy has grown by leaps and bounds ever since he became a Genin. But he wasn't exactly shown...the potential that his own clan once had." Choza Akimichi politely said, indicating the blondes lack of talent in Fuinjutsu and the special chakra chains that came with it.
"I think this is a waste of time, Hokage-sama we have much more important business to attend to." Hiashi Hyuuga moved to stand and excuse himself from the chambers.
Hiruzen slammed the gavel with such force that both it, and part of the podium shattered on impact. Any conversation in the room came to a dead halt, and Hiashi himself was greeted with a blast of killing intent that made him see his own horrific demise. Not even his teammates who had been with him since their team was formed had seen him so enraged. "Sit down...now."
When order was finally settled Hiruzen took a deep breath and spoke to them all like they were incompetent children. "The reason I put Naruto Uzumaki on the CRA is because I am honoring the alliance this village once had with his clan. He is still young, he could very well exhibit their unique chakra when he gets older. But not only that, he holds a Kekkei Genkai that only Inoichi and my student Jiraiya knows about."
That seemed to draw their attention, a Kekkei Genkai within their own Jinchuriki? This was something that no one expected. Of course Inoichi slumped down to avoid the scathing looks being directed his way.
"Well what is it?" Koharu demanded.
"She's right, Hiruzen how could you keep this from us?" Homaru exclaimed.
"Because it was none of your business what I do regarding my shinobi." Hiruzen glared at both his teammates. Watching them shrink back gave him a bit of satisfaction that was wrong, but they had it coming for a long time. "The second reason is because Naruto himself has gone beyond the call of duty to help out a classmate and friend from suffering a dreadful fate." He then looked Hiashi's way, and the Hyuuga withered under his gaze.
"What exactly do you mean by that?" Tsume Inuzuka demanded.
"Two nights ago Hiashi Hyuuga stripped his daughter Hinata not only of her Heiress status, but of her family name because she apparently failed one too many times for his high expectations." Hiruzen paused to let that sink in for a moment. Every last member of the Shinobi Council were parents, and he wanted them to understand the gravity of the situation. "In the hospital he used clan status to enter Hinata's room and had his father paralyze her so they could brand her with the Branch Family Curse Seal."
"Hiashi...how could you do this to your own daughter?" Inoichi hotly demanded, he rose up and slammed his fists on the table in anger. If it wasn't for Shikaku using the Shadow Possession Jutsu he would have tried to throttle the man.
"What I do to my daughter is none of your concern." Hiashi coldly explained.
"You mean your former daughter, as far as I recall you pretty much plucked her from the family tree." Hiruzen said before continuing. "The sealing was interrupted by Tenten Higarashi who beamed Hinata's grandfather upside the head with was bedpan-" He stopped when Tsume laughed, it was comical to think about. "And escaped with her by jumping through the hospital window...and several more when I got into greater detail of their escape."
"So that's what happened to my flower shop window." Inoichi muttered out. "And here I thought it was just vandals."
"And after learning that there would be repercussions, and with Hiashi never going to let her go until he got what he wanted. I had no choice to to enact the Clan Restoration Act on Naruto Uzumaki to not only make sure the Uzumaki line and his Kekkei Genkai continues, but to grant protection for those two girls not only under his clan, but mine as well since I sponsored him."
"I cannot allow this Hokage-sama! My daughter will never marry that boy, and Tenten Higarashi will answer for her crimes against my clan." Hiashi gritted out.
"Seems to me the only crime was you jumping the gun in banishing your daughter." Shikaku dully replied, giving the Hyuuga Clan Head a lazy look in his direction. "As I see it, you're attempting to enslave one of the Sandaime Hokage's shinobi and punish another for doing the right thing. We're aware that you're willing to do anything to keep the Byakugan safe, and more than likely use underhanded tactics to get it back under your control...so Hokage-sama had to lawyer up to make you cease and desist."
"Honestly Hiashi who could you do this?" Choza demanded, the larger man was disappointed in his fellow shinobi. "You're supposed to be her father, so she lost a match in the preliminaries, big deal it happens."
"Exactly, my daughter lost her match. I was disappointed, but I'm more glad she was all right afterwards." Inoichi seconded.
"It's not because she lost, she lost to a Sand Genin. Her loss made the clan look weak! I had to cut the finger off to save the hand!" Hiashi protested.
"Hey dipshit, my son also lost to a Sand Genin. It was just a bad match up." Tsume deadpanned.
"And mine lost to that Rain Genin." Inoichi seconded with his own deadpanned voice.
"Plus your daughter...pardon me, former daughter lost to Sunagakure's resident Jinchuriki. It's even a miracle she got away with cracks in her skeleton instead of dying." Shibi Aburame spoke up for the first time since the meeting started. "Also...didn't your nephew, the prodigy of his class get beaten by Naruto Uzumaki, a Genin who has less than three month's experience while he had a full year?" His sunglasses shined after he finished his sentence, causing everyone to revel in how badly Hiashi got burned by him.
"I uh...no I did not know this." Hiashi lost all composure and attempted to defend himself, and failed horribly.
Developing some pity for the man, Hiruzen changed the subject to not only have the man save what little face he had, but to bring to light the true threat to their village. "Moving on to the next piece of business. I received some disturbing news that my old student had allied himself with Sunagakure for a planned invasion of the village."
Hiashi's shame was momentarily forgotten, their village being threatened took priority over how much of a failure he was as a father, and perhaps a human being.
(Two Days Later)
"Ouch...fucking Zabuza."
After the whole incident regarding Hinata and Tenten, both girls were allowed to go home. Or more specifically Hinata was allowed to bunk with Tenten and her family until something could be sorted out. They still did not exactly give him that they were 'okay' regarding his whole CRA thing, but they didn't say no either leaving him in a state of limbo. Their first 'date' went well though, even if Teuchi and Ayame teased the hell out of the three of them.
After that he went back to training, he had Jiraiya yesterday to keep his promise with him learning how to properly do Fuinjutsu along with a promise to teach him something only a few people in the world knew how to do when their next lesson came along. Today he had Zabuza and the man brutalized him more than usual, leading Haku to administer her ice therapy before leaving with an odd blush on her face.
Feeling a familiar pair of weight on his back, Naruto lowly grunted when both Ichigo and Benihime pranced around before laying down like he was a bed. "Gee thanks a lot guys, ugh why is Zabuza doing this, this isn't training. This is torture."
"Actually he's strengthening your body." Turning his head Naruto was greeted by the ghost of one Hayate Gekko. "Hello."
"Uh...hey. I'm a little surprised you're here, weren't you supposed to pass on?"
"I thought I was, but something is still binding me here." Hayate awkwardly said before turning his attention back towards the blonde. "As I was saying, Zabuza...while his methods are unusual, he's putting your body under such strain that when you get into a real fight with that sword of yours, you'll be able to dominate almost any opponent you meet in the ring."
"Well I'm not going to be able to jack shit if I can barely use it. All I know is a few loose forms that I found in a book, but anything advanced I'm out of luck. Zabuza refuses to train me in swordsmanship, and no one else in Konohagakure is a kenjutsu master."
"Well...you're not wrong, kenjutsu requires a lot of discipline. I've been practicing it since I was your age, maybe even younger. But in the end I was still no match for that Sand Jonin that allowed Kabuto to escape."
"Wait a second...oh why didn't I think of this earlier?!" Jumping to his feet, and ignoring the fox kits cursing at him Naruto pointed at the deceased Special Jonin. "You! You could train me!"
"Pardon me?"
"Listen, you got unfinished business here. Perhaps it's not just because you didn't report this Sand-Sound Invasion, but because you got killed by that Sand Jonin. Perhaps if I can beat him, then maybe you can go in peace."
"Naruto, I don't think that's how it works. Besides aren't you already overworked?" Hayate curiously asked. The kid was burning a candle at both ends, anymore and he would burn out.
"We can do it in my head at night, Ishikawa goes there a lot when he isn't peeping on girls." Naruto said, much to the dead man's ire. "Look, what do you have to lose? I mean everything you learned could at least get passed down to me, you wouldn't want all your hard earned skills to just die out just like that would you?"
Hayate was silent for the next couple of minutes. The kid wasn't exactly wrong, everything he learned was actually passed onto his lover Yugao Uzuki who was devastated most from his death. He saw it when she picked up his katana, and knew that she wouldn't find peace until she found the man who did it. He didn't want that for her. But Naruto...he was eager to learn, perhaps this was what he needed to be able to pass on.
"All right kid, but you better put your heart and soul into it. I can be a harsh taskmaster."
"Who do you think you're talking to? Dattebayo!"
Ishikawa slowly rose from the floor to stare at his young ward. "Blondie, isn't this kinda cheating? I mean you got Zabuza Momochi the Demon of the fricking Mist, Jiraiya the Toad Sannin, and Kakashi Hatake bouncing in every couple of days to teach you all advanced forms of chakra exercises. Isn't this overdoing it with Hayate teaching you kenjutsu?"
"Ishi I'm a shinobi, we aren't exactly known for playing fair. Besides I'm supposed to take down Orochimaru, Danzo Shimura and fucking Madara Uchiha of all people in exchange for my own life. So I'm going to need all the help I can get!" Naruto ranted at the deceased Stone Chunin.
"Madara Uchiha?" Hayate lightly asked.
"It's a long story dude." Ishikawa sighed out.
(Otogakure)
"Kabuto, you're late" Orochimaru bluntly stated when he sensed his right-hand man walking through the doorway.
"I apologize for being so tardy Orochimaru-sama." Kabuto apologized before appearing at his side. He had changed out of his stolen Anbu uniform and switched into his usual outfit, the only difference was that his right eye was covered in gauze. He would be prepping himself for surgery later to repair or replace it. "I was detained, interrogated and tortured for information. I know Yoroi and Misumi cracked, I eliminated them but I fear some of our bases were compromised. I am unsure what the village knows about Operation: Konoha Crush."
"Were there any more complications?" The Snake Sannin demanded.
"Baki and I were tailed by Special Jonin Hayate Gekko, but he was eliminated. I know the village doesn't know about our little alliance with Sunagaukre."
"Good...but we must not leave anything to chance. I'm going to have to put in more plants, sabotage more buildings, we barely have two weeks to do it."
"It will get handled, even if I have to oversee it myself." Kabuto volunteered.
Orochimaru only chuckled in reply. That was his most trusted subordinate, even after losing an eye and being tortured for almost two weeks he was still willing to risk going back into the village to accomplish his mission. It reminded him of Kimimaro before he perished in the Forest of Death, he could not afford to lose his number one spy, not now. "I appreciate your offer, but right now I need you to rest and heal. I need you at one-hundred percent for my plan to succeed."
"By your will." Reaching into his pouch Kabuto procured three vials of blood. "I did not return empty handed, I got DNA samples from Yoroi, Misumi, and Hayate. I believe they can be useful to you."
Smirking Orochimaru took the samples and studied them. Kabuto certainly went beyond the call of duty, he could use this for future experiments. "Excellent, you were always the opportunist."
Pushing his glasses up the ashen-haired spy then looked at his master's latest experiment. "And what is going on with this one? I thought you were going to sacrifice him with the other two."
"Zaku and Kin are out of my reach for now, an inconvenient loss, but they knew nothing of my plans. Dosu however..." Orochimaru looked over the lone Sound Genin laying on the operating table. His face was covered except for his new right eye that was staring upwards, it glowed red for a brief moment before receding back to its normal blackness. "He still has some use for me."
Omake: Hiroshi's Point
"All right...you can do this." Naruto said to himself upon making it to Hiroshi's Weapon Shop. "You can do this...you can do this...you can do this."
"Oh for Shinigami's sake Blondie just go in and talk to the man. You've been standing out here for the past ten minutes trying to hype yourself up, instead you're making yourself looking like a jackass." Ishikawa complained. Throwing his arms up he gestured towards the weapons shop. "Go on, move it!"
"Listen Hiroshi is a scary man, if I had a choice between fighting the Kyuubi or him, I would fight the Kyuubi in an instant."
"I honestly have no idea if I should take that as a complement." The nine-tailed fox replied.
"Not helping fluffy. Listen, Blondie this is like pulling off a bandage. You just gotta do it, otherwise it'll just get worse before it gets better"
"Dammit shut up, fine I'll go. But if I get killed it'll be your fault, and if I go to hell you're following after me." Adjusting his katana the blonde made his way into the shot. He was pumped up enough to talk to the bear of a man that spawned Tenten from his loins.
But then he saw the man, he was hunched over the cash register with a katana in his large hands that looked like a toothpick. He looked up and Naruto felt his blood freeze in his veins. "Hiroshi-san...hello."
"Naruto-san." The larger man grunted before he stood to his full height. The larger man slowly limped over to the young Genin before sheathing the katana and placing it on the rack of swords. "I am glad you came, I figured you would chicken out."
"A friend once told me that this is just like a bandage. I just got to pull it off and get it over with."
"You're damn right I did!"
"Hmph, smart friend you have." Hiroshi now stood in front of him, he did nothing but stand, but it was simply terrifying to stare at him. "I know about your CRA thing and about what my daughter did...all of it."
"Hiroshi I just want to say-"
"No you listen to me." Hiroshi raised his hand to silence the Genin. "I taught my daughter to always follow her heart and do what she felt was right. She took after both me and Tomoko. I am proud of what she did for Hinata, and if she needs a place to stay we will happily make some room for her. But in regards to your CRA thing."
"I don't know what you heard, but I swear that it was not my idea. I just want to keep them both safe, I mean I like Tenten but we still barely know each other and-"
Naruto was once again cut off by the heavily scarred man. "In the eyes of the shinobi world Tenten is an adult. And I can trust her to make adult decisions...but as a father I am not fond of this one." He frowned in his direction before continuing. "I am warning you right now Naruto-san, I will be watching you. And if you take advantage of her, or this law...last of your clan or not I will end you. Do I make my point clear?"
"Ye-yea crystal."
"Shit Blondie you were right." Ishikawa audibly gulped, he was dead and had almost nothing to fear not. But Hiroshi Higurashi scared the fuck out of him.
"I am glad we've come to an understanding...now is there anything I could get for you? The final exams are just around the corner." Say what you will about Hiroshi Higurashi, say he was a loving father, a scary man, but never forget that he was also a business man. And Naruto was a frequent and loyal customer.
Pvt: Liquor: That the shit! General are you insane?
Sgt. Shadowstrayster: I think he is.
Sgt. DemonShifter: Not one.
Pvt. Killjoy: Not two.
Pvt. Gold: But three updates in one sitting? How long did it take you to do that!?

Armageddon: Na, just since the last update I made. I wanted to give a gift to my fans for this season because I have not been the most frequent updater in the world because...life. I do got a job and other things outside of this, but I wanted to show my appreciation to every one of my fans who supported my insanity and stuck with me by updating all three of my active stories for Christmas Day. Now for an explanation. Many of you are wondering what the hell is going on, everything is going too fast is it not? Between finding out two girls liking him to the CRA among other stuff, and everything that has gone down this chapter seems like things are escalating quickly. Well to quote Ron Burgandy it honestly is, and that is the point of this arc, between Naruto not being an idiot and all the changes going on, it can and will come to a boil before exploding...which I hope is going to be epic when the Chunin Exams finally end. I'm not much for training arcs, but I would be a fool to skip on it because of character development and interaction. So I hope you can tolerate it for a little while longer, again enjoy your holiday!
