Author's Note: Now this one is another rarity, I was so passionate about this idea that like my "Under the Red Hood AU" that I actually went to write a (unprofessional) prologue. Not as detailed as my Red Hood one as it is more like the fanfic you usually read where the story igoes a little something like:
All Might: East This!
Izuku eats All Might's Hair and gags
Izuku: I don't feel anything...
Anywhooo, enjoy what I have to offer!
(We start out in the sunset sky)
Izuku (voiceover): Here's my day so far; went to jail, lost my job, lost the girl of my dreams, and got my butt kicked pretty good. Still, things could be a lot worse. Oh, that's right, I'm falling to my death. Guess they can't. How'd it all come to this, you ask? My end starts at the beginning. The very beginning. A wiseman once said "All men are not created equal". Yes, that's me. I had a fairly standard childhood. Until I was four when I learned that the world wasn't fair. I was born without a Quirk, without powers. Something that every other person around me took for granted. The feeling was crushing. How sad is that? Maybe the lesson I should have taken is that we can't always have what we want. Clearly it was time to move on.
Inko: I'm sorry Izuku…I am so sorry….
Izuku: [voice over] I didn't quite hear that last part, but it did not sound like the encouragement I wanted. So I set out to find my destiny. Turns out by childhood best friend Katsuki just got his Quirk the same day I found out I didn't… He didn't take it very well
[We see the aforementioned Katsuki and few other kids in a forested area with Izuku, with the former blasting Izuku in the face with an explosion seemingly coming from his palms while shouting out DEKU and knocking Izuku to the dirt] And our glorious rivalry, was born!
Izuku: [voice over] Then there was the day I was saved by my idol, my hero! Mr. Number 1 The Symbol of Peace Himself; All Might! Could this be what I was destined for? My dream finally being realized and proven true? Could I finally hope?
All Might: I'm sorry kid, not without a Quirk. It's not bad to have a dream, young man. Just, make sure your dreams are attainable. Realistic. Understand? [All Might buffs himself back up before jumping off the roof leaving Izuku alone at the top of the building. He somberly drops his head down as the notebook his hero signed fell from his hands onto the floor]
Izuku: (voice-over.) Apparently not! Even fate picks its favorites. No big deal. A much different fate awaited me.
(Izuku then discovers the trash filled Dagobah Beach.)
Izuku: (voice-over.) Luckily, I found a lovely little place to call home away from home. A place that always welcomed me and helped get away from the dilemmas of everyday life. [Izuku is then seen scavenging around the trash filled beach for parts to tinker with, everyday he either finds or builds something there. One particular he managed to scrounge up enough parts and after hammering, welding and programming he took off his pair of goggles and smiled proudly.]
Izuku: (voice-over.) Yes yes, everybody's got their oh-so-special-powers that life handed to them on a silver platter. The power of flight, invulnerability, or great hair! But I had something far, far greater. My amazing intellect! A knack for building objects of mayhem. I had always been interested in those support items that some of the Villains used when they weren't just relying on their Quirks. Like Mr Rotor, Kikai Sobi, Zapner, Panchingu... The thought of making something like that was...Really, really cool.
So, I decided to throw myself at learning how to make cool robots and laser guns. It wasn't easy, I have to say that much. Even though I was bright for my age, it was an uphill struggle. There's a lot that goes into engineering and robotics, but I persevered, kept up the hard work and soon I was doing pretty well with my gizmos and gadgets, if I do say so myself. Had to learn a bunch of other stuff - Chemistry, Coding, Physics, a bit of Biology - but in the end I did quite well. Turns out I had a Knack for building object of mayhem!
I also joined a few clubs in school. Drama club was fun - there were still some plays being done from the time before Quirks and I fit in, particularly in the dramatic roles. The robotics club in school was pretty interesting, and there was always a lot of stuff from the school labs to use for my... other purposes
[Izuku presented his mother with a little robot that starts chopping up vegetables on the counter in the kitchen before running off to vacuum the floor of their apartment. Inko smiled in pride and awe while she clapped enthusiastically for her son's invention. Izuku showed the same robot for show and tell at his school but the robot twitched and spasmed with sparks flying out of its head.
It lunged at one of the judges before flipping out its built-in kitchen knives and chased the other students. Izuku frantically pressed and clicked every button on his remote till Bakugo had enough and blasted the robot to buts with his explosion quirk. All the other students glared at Izuku as one of the teachers extinguished a growing flame from the judge's table. Izuku nervously laughs as he tucked himself in and slowly crept behind the stage.]
Izuku: (voice-over.) After a few years and with some time off for good behavior, I was given an opportunity to better myself through furthering my education at Aldera Middle School. It was there that I once again ran into Kacchan. He had already amassed a gigantic army of soft-headed groupies.
(Katsuki as a child uses explosion to heat up popcorn and all the students cheered and clapped.)
Izuku: (voice-over.) He bought their affections with showmanship, extravagant gifts of deliciousness. So, I too would make this pop-ped corn and win over those mindless drones.
Inko: Izuku! It's 10PM! Bedtime! Now! (Inko barged into the room and switched the lights off before leaving immediately.)
Izuku: Y-yes mom! (Izuku hid under the blanket covers as he uses his phone as a flashlight to add some more sketches to his invention while his robot watches.) As they said 'Failure is the mother of success!" and I'll keep trying till I succeed.
(Izuku's robot now has a little ray gun ejected from his chest that heats the cobs of corn in a bowl to produce popcorn for his class. But it overheats and explodes the corn and the bowl, some of the students scream. The teacher uses his powers to put the fire out and once it was gone eyes angrily glared at the greenette again, who nervously laughed s response)
Izuku: (voice-over.) That's when I learned a very hard lesson. It doesn't matter how hard I try to be good. People with flashy or fancy Quirks receive all the praise and adulation while people with weak or dare I say NO Quirk are ignored and forgotten. [ As the class prepares to take a photo Katsuki and his lackeys push Izuku out of the way as the picture is taken, showing Izuku being pushed out of the photo. Only his legs were capture. It seemed no one really cared as they had it published in everyone's yearbook that semester] So fittin' in wasn't really an option. While they were learning algebra, I learnt how to dehydrate inanimate objects and rehydrate them at will. (Izuku fires a ray at his robot companion turning him into a cube, and adds a drop of water on the cube to bring robot back to life. The latter sees the former face down as he taps on the head. The robot "wakes up" as the Izuku smiled.) Some days it felt like it was just me and my inventions like C2 against the world. No matter how hard I tried I was always the odd man out. (Katsuki picks a girl with a cast and crutches to be on his team.) The last one picked. The screw up! The black sheep! (dodgeballs are being pelted at Izuku.) A Deku! (As a new round begins, Izuku buckles up a helmet with spikes on them. As the dodgeballs fire, lightning from the spikes reflects the balls hitting a car, a man's head, and nearly hitting the teacher, but deflected by Katsuki's explosion. He is rewarded with yet another gold star sticker and applause.)
Izuku: [voice over] But then...I got an inspiration. All my life, I've looked up to heroes like All Might. But sometimes, looking at Heroes, I felt that they weren't... enough. Sure, heroes saved people from disasters and helped deal with villains, but I always thought that villains were more people who didn't think about the system. They were just people lashing out and not really acting like the guys in comic books. I thought about this for days, wondering what made the difference. What made All Might stand above the rest of the Heroes? It was when I was looking through the old video archives of heroes that it hit me.
A Hero doesn't mean very much without a Villain to contrast them. You could almost say that Villains defined the Heroes. Without a Villain, Heroes don't spring into action.
The whole world told me again and again I could never be a hero…But they never said anything about being a Villain…a Super-Villain! Then it hit me; I was not going to be the Deku! If I was going to be someone, I was going to be the bad boy, the baddest boy of them all! I was destined to be a super-villain, and Hero Society itself along with all those Heroes were destined to be my rivals! The dye had been cast! And so began an enduring epic lifelong career…and I LOVED IT!
Izuku: (voice-over.) Ironic that most of my foes are UA Alumni of the Hero Course; my old dream. I knew that since I was Quirkless I was unlikely to get into the Hero course. I was sad sure but I always had other options like the Support Course. Knowing about hero business might have made it easier for my future, so that wouldn't have hurt either.
My battles against the Heroes quickly got more elaborate. They would win some, I would almost win others! My old buddy ''Kacchan'' took the name Dyna Might, The self-proclaimed Number 1 Hero. I decided to pick something a little humbler; Master-Mind, incredibly handsome criminal genius and master of all villainy!
(a gallery of newspaper articles appears, featuring Izuku against multiple other Pro-Heroes in battles. The first showed his debut with him in his first villain suit; A black leather suit and cape with some mechanical parts and designed with some lightning bolts highlighted green. Many articles showed Master-Mind in battling heroes or committing various acts of crime that range from giant robots to the cliche freeze ray)
Master-Mind, Coming soo-...someday.
If you are like me and like Megamind and Villain Deku stories were he isn't angsty and more Chaotic Good/Neutral., let me know what inventions Master-Mind would have come up with :0
