Originally, I was going to start off this chapter with Principal Scudworth reading a letter of resignation from Vince Frankenclone. He doesn't feel like he could service the students of Clone High anymore and now he's moved to somewhere in South America, much like the original Frankenstein Monster had intended to once his creator made him a wife.
I just couldn't bring myself to put in the effort like in all the previous chapters. The purpose of this chapter is supposed to bring the story to a proper end. I don't even have a rough draft for this one. I'm just typing it all in one go.
Thank you again for reading, everyone. I hope to have new ideas for another Clone High story once the new season comes out next year. But right now, I have other projects I'd like to focus on.
It's Friday afternoon. More than four days have passed since Abe's fight with Amerigo. In short, things are slowly starting to feel more like they used to.
It's never going to feel the same as life was back in 2003, but life can be full of surprises.
The Grassy Knoll went through only minimal changes for the last twenty years. So mostly it remains the same. It does help Gandhi as he learns how to use a smartphone for the first time.
JFK, meanwhile, is singing at a nearby karaoke machine. A small gathering watches him as he performs, singing a song most of them have heard of before. The ones who haven't quickly become invested.
(Ghost - Mary On A Cross)
"You go down just like Holy Mary!
Mary on a… Mary on a Cross!
Not just another Bloody Mary!
Mary on a… Mary on a…
You go down just like Holy Mary!
Mary on a… Mary on a cross!
Your beauty never ever scared me!
Mary on a… Mary on a cross!
If you choose to run away with me!
I will tickle you internally!
And I see nothing wrong with that!"
Joan, who is sitting next to Abe and hugging his arm, couldn't help but notice what JFK was singing. "Wait, what did he just say?"
Deciding to change the subject, Gandhi put his phone down and looked at Abe. "So Abe, how's your wrist doing?"
Abe looks down at his wrist. "It isn't too bad. It's healing quicker than I thought. And I heal unusually quickly. Even before we all got frozen."
"Well, now we have all of Spring Break to look forward to." Said Joan as she rests her head on Abe's shoulder. "I have everything all planned out. So you don't have to worry, Abe. It's going to be so romantic."
Using his free hand, Abe scratches the back of his head. Clingy doesn't even begin to describe how he could describe Joan. If they're really in a romantic relationship right now, she certainly just skipped straight to it. At the same time, he really didn't want to push her away. It could end up hurting her in a way that he didn't intend to.
But still. He has his own life to live and she has hers.
"Uh yeah. That's what I wanted to talk to you about, Joan." He looks down at her. "JFK and I already have plans. A few groups of people have reached out to us earlier in the week and we're trying to talk to everybody we can."
Joan sighs before letting go of Abe. "Every time I look at you, you're always busy with something. Have you ever considered… settling down? Because I don't want you to feel like you're wasting your time on anything."
That made Abe smirk at her. "Joan, if I felt like I was wasting my time, I would let you know in a heartbeat. I enjoy what I do." He looks over to JFK, who is now done singing and is walking over to their table. "Hey JFK, back me up here! We love what we do, right?"
"Oh yeah. We spoke to so many new people this week!" JFK took his seat right next to Gandhi. "We got big things ahead of us! And I know I'm going to be loving every minute of it!"
"And I know I'm going to love watching every minute of it!" Said Gandhi. "I already got started working on my biography! I'm going to be rich!"
Abe points at his friend. "Oh you GOTTA let me see what you wrote. I bet it's going to be an awesome read." He then notices the sad look on Joan's face as she starts to look away from everybody. He sighs. Then began to talk to her again.
"Well Joan… maybe I can make some time for you." Joan looks at him again. "Maybe I can bring you along to a meeting sometime."
Joan began to smile, which calmed Abe down a bit. "I'd like that, Abe… I just want you to promise me one thing… If you ever come across any girls who are…"
She didn't get a chance to finish what she had to say. As Confucius approaches the group with Harriet right behind him. "Hey hey! What's up gang? Hope you don't mind us dropping in!"
They took a seat right next to Abe. Now in the middle of everybody, Joan couldn't help but feel a little trapped. But it's not too much to worry about. She could just demand they make space for her if she wanted to leave.
"Confucius and Harriet! So glad you could join us!" Exclaims Abe. "So how have you two been doing?"
"Oh things have been going great! Thank you for asking!" Answers Harriet. "I see you and Joan now have gotten closer together."
"Well, it's more like she's getting closer to me." Said Abe, looking at Joan. Who at this point is back to hugging Abe's arm. "Not that I'm complaining or anything."
Confucius points at Abe. "Hey, you know what I just realized? You never got to start that fight with JFK. And now that Mr. Frankenclone is now gone, there's nothing stopping you, right?"
Abe looks at JFK for a moment before looking down at his wrist again. "Well… My wrist still hurts a little."
Hearing that, Confucius quickly backtracks. "Oh, if you're still hurting then you shouldn't fight. Forget what I said. It was a stupid suggestion anyway."
Abe smirks again. This time looking at JFK. "You know… even if my wrist still hurts… I think that means JFK and I would probably have a fair fight… If he isn't too cowardly to back out."
"Hey, you wanna take this outside!" As loud as JFK was, he had the same smile Abe has on his face. They're both having fun and everyone knows it.
"Sure… But only if you hold the door for me!" Abe quickly jokes back.
Pretty soon, everybody is in the parking lot outside the restaurant. As JFK and Abe stare at each other, Confucius gets in between them. "Okay guys! I want a good, clean fight! No hair pulling! No biting! No punches or kicks to the nuts! Whoever gives up or doesn't follow the rules loses and then the fight is over! Are you guys ready!?"
JFK and Abe get into their fighting poses. But everybody could tell that they're not acting serious. JFK is busy taking a few steps back and forth with his fists circling in front of his face. Meanwhile, Abe is jumping up and down with his arms swinging from his sides.
Trying to hold back a laugh, Confucius raises his right arm in the air. "Live and let die!" He then gives out the signal by bringing it down. "FIGHT!"
With smiles still on both of their faces, the two teenage clones rush toward each other. Having no idea what the other was planning to do.
The funny part: Both Abe and JFK didn't care about coming up with a plan. Because all it would do is ruin the fun.
THE END
