It was an afternoon at the dinner table at the Loud House as Lynn Jr was struggling to pay attention to her tutor trying to explain things from a science textbook. She fell bored pretty easily and decided to think about sports and how she had been working on running at the tracks and how the head gym teacher and sports coach at the school coach Crock had been extra hard on everyone which was saying something. He was even in a fouler mood than ever as Mr Chapin cut the sports budget at the school so they couldn't get the new sports equipment that they wanted and Lynn thought that was unfair as well.
The science departments need new better safety equipment... Blegh; what was a few explosions and injuries compared to making sure that the future sports legends play to the best of their ability. No pain, no gain that they say! She was probably dealing with the extra hard work the best out of the school and the others not so much but they were probably not envying Coach Crock's daughter Artemis who he had huge expectations for that she wasn't reaching.
"Lynn; do you even hear a word that I say!" asked her tutor in an agitating tone; a girl a year below hers with blonde hair and glasses called Caitlin Snow. Probably the best science student in her class but man could she make it sound so bring; at least if you asked Lynn that is who literally couldn't care less about the science stuff.
"I heard some stuff but it's kind of boring..." Lynn Jr replied with a shrug and this got Caitlin to be even more agitated.
"Lynn; you were the one who asked me to tutor you... Said that you couldn't repeat senior year again but you are not making the effort..." Caitlin told her and Lynn grimaced as she remembered how disappointed her parents in her that she ended up flunking senior year and had actually managed to fail enough subjects that summer school wouldn't be able to cover it all. She didn't want to go through all that again.
"But you could at least make it sound easier to listen to or not boring..." Lynn Jr then told her and Caitlin then slammed her textbook shut and got up getting her bag.
"That's it! I am throwing in the towel as you jocks say... This is not worth 5 bucks an hour; it wouldn't be worth fifty bucks an hour! It's like I am trying to explain all this to a brick wall... Actually I think a brick wall would actually be more interested..." snapped Caitlin and Lynn Jr then got up in a panic to try and stop her.
Then they heard something coming up from inside and Lynn Jr rushed up with Caitlin who was curious; Lynn then went into Lisa's room and it looked like she was putting out a chemical fire on her work desk. "Lynn; I would be most appreciative if this doesn't reach our parental units for they said that all my equipment would be taken away and I would be banned from experiments for the time being if there was another explosion." Lisa then spoke as Lynn went to help Lisa put out the fire.
Caitlin then noticed on a shelf was a containment unit with what looked like a small sun in the middle and it was marked 'PROJECT: FIRESTORM' and there was a thumb drive attached to it. She then smirked as she silently then opened up her backpack and then put the containment unit into it. She then sneaked out of the room and got out of the house.
Soon the fire was out and Lisa looked and her eyes widened as she then noticed on the shelf the unit was missing; "The FIRESTORM Matrix... It's gone..." Lisa shouted out making Lynn Jr jump and Lisa then quickly got out her video feed on her computer and it showed Caitlin stealing the containment unit. "That tutor is taking one of my greatest recent triumphs away and the fool doesn't know how dangerous it is..." Lisa then said as Lynn Jr then ran out with Lisa after her.
"Count on me Lees..." Lynn Jr said grinning as she got out of the house and then started running after Caitlin after she saw her. Caitlin's eyes widened and started running but Lynn Jr shouted out "stop there Caitlin and give me back the thing that you stole from Lisa; I promise that we won't tell on you for stealing... As long as you keep being my tutor..."
However Caitlin's skin turned blue and her hair white and she shout out ice that froze Lynn's feet making her eyes widen and it was getting late so no one there at the moment. "Metagene since I was young; thanks for the project." smirked Caitlin as she returned to normal and Lynn managed to break herself free but Caitlin was gone and Lisa was there.
"It appears that Caitlin is one of those Metahumans; one of the small percent born with the gene that awakens super powers. It appears we will need a superhero and luckily we know one..." Lisa told Lynn Jr who was just confused.
Lincoln had been playing a pony video game with Lily and ruffled his younger sister's hair when they were done with them smiling; Lincoln started going up to his room but Lisa grabbed his hand and started leading him to her room. "What is the big idea Lisa..." Lincoln asked as Lisa then showed her computer and the video feed from the sleepover where he and his friends turned into the Super Friends.
He looked on in a panic and Lisa explained "After my grounding in the aftermath of the sleepover incident; I found the file downloaded onto my computer and decided to wait before using the information."
"You are that Peacemaker guy Stinkcoln? Is this how you snuck into your home and got me into trouble when I thought there was a burglar?" Lynn Jr demanded pushing Lincoln was in a panic.
"Please don't tell Mum or Dad or our siblings... I can explain..." Lincoln pleaded as Lisa stepped forward.
"I persuaded Lynn to keep quiet in exchange for helping with her chores for a month and this secret will remain with me if you help us find Lynn's tutor Caitlin Snow. She as it turned out is a Metahuman with ice powers and stole the FIRESTORM Matrix from my room when I was distracted." Lisa then said as Lincoln then nodded.
"First off; Caitlin Snow and she has ice powers?" Lincoln asked thinking about how on the nose it was and Lynn Jr snickered. "also... What is this FIRESTORM Matrix?" Lincoln asked as Lisa then coughed.
"I was inspired by the publish works of STAR Labs scientists Dr Jason Rusch and Professor Martin Stein. The Matrix is the lynchpin of Project: FIRESTORM which is to rework atoms on a sub-atomic level... In simpler things it can transmutate matter into almost anything." Lisa then said and it was to the point that Lincoln wasn't able to be impressed with what Lisa managed to achieve. "Fortunately the Matrix gives off a signature that we can follow with this..." Lisa said taking out a tracking device.
Peacemaker was with Lynn Jr and Lisa as they reached a storage facility and Lisa nodded to the door; "Seriously what's with the outfit's symbol... Why a pigeon?" Lynn Jr asked Peacemaker holding back laughter at his outfit.
"It's a dove; a symbol of peace..." Peacemaker retorted in an agitated tone and Peacemaker then opened up the door and then found a minature lab set up with Caitlin there. "The Loud family tracked me down and said that you have a FIRESTORM Matrix that I am here to retrieve!" Peacemaker then said boldly as Caitlin then noticed him and glared.
"This thing is my ticket to a scholarship to any school I want and will help me with my internship at Lexcorp! Are you prepared to fight Killer Frost!" Caitlin then said transforming into her blue skinned look and then began throwing ice at Peacemaker and he began moving at great speed and agility to avoid the ice.
"That's Lincoln moving like that... He was utterly hopeless at physical stuff back in Royal Woods and look at him now..." Lynn Jr muttered in stunned awe; now that she knew that it was her brother in that suit she was seeing Peacemaker in a new light.
"Yes; we can be impressed later but now that he has her distracted; let's get the Matrix..." Lisa muttered as they sneaked in and found the containment unit on a table and Lynn Jr grabbed it.
"Oh no you don't!" snapped Killer Frost freezing them up and Peacemaker shouted out in worried shock; then he got angry and as she sent ice to his body he managed to break free and smash his shield to free his legs from the ice. He then jumped and punched Killer Frost in the head with his shield and then went to Lynn Jr and Lisa.
He smashed the ice and got them free but the containment unit gave out error messages and the Matrix was flashing. "Oh no... The ice short circuited the containment unit and the Matrix hasn't been fully tested yet..." Lisa shouted out worried as Killer Frost lunged at them as she got up and Peacemaker tackled her.
The Matrix exploded at Lynn Jr and Lisa and they were caught with chemicals that Caitlin had been experimenting with...
Lynn Jr got up and saw that the place was in fire and ran out and looked to the ocean; her reflection showed that she was glowing orange and her hair looked like it was on fire. "AHH!" Lynn Jr shouted out and she put her face in the water to try and get the fire out but it didn't seem to do anything.
"Where am I? I see a lot of empty space and the smell of dirty gym socks..." Lynn Jr heard Lisa's voice and it sounded like she was in her head and Lynn Jr jumped a she then noticed Lisa's head floating in her vision looking like she was in fire. Peacemaker then ran to Lynn Jr looking terrified.
"Lincoln... Please tell me that you see Lisa's head floating like some sort of fire ghost?" Lynn Jr whispered as Peacemaker stopped looking startled and Lisa was silent as she looked at Lynn Jr.
