A/N: Having major writers block right now

Rory and Aoki trudged through the dense foliage of Viridian Forest, their senses heightened by the sounds and sights around them. The deeper they ventured, the more they realized how vast and mysterious the forest truly was. They walked through the grass that was as hard as iron as they looked around the trees that blocked out most of the sunlight leaving them in almost darkness even though it was in the early afternoon.

And the noise was indescribable. Water, bugs, the occasional sound of a bird, and so on flooded the ears of the two one moment, the next they didn't hear anything but the sound of their breath and their footsteps. The two only stopped for the occasional Pokémon battle, but none of the Pokémon they battled caught their attention as they were all useless bug type Pokémon like caterpie and weedle.

"Keep an eye out for any unusual plants," Aoki said, scanning the ground. "Amanda said the herb has distinctive purple leaves."

Rory nodded, his eyes darting around. "Got it. Let's just hope we find it soon."

As they moved further into the forest, a faint, painful cry reached their ears. Rory paused, his heart racing. "Did you hear that?"

Aoki nodded, her expression tense. "It sounded like a Pokémon in trouble."

The two followed the sound, weaving through the thick underbrush until they came upon a small clearing. The clearing had a couple of nice-looking flowers, a large bush of leaves that the two automatically recognized as the herbs they were looking for, and right in the center, lying motionless on the ground, was a small, pink Pokémon with a long, slender tail and large, expressive eyes.

The two stood there frozen as if unable to understand what they are looking at. The two had read enough stories in their childhood to know what they are looking at and yet they stared at the Pokemon that was laying right in front of them.

"Mew!" Rory gasped, recognizing the mythical Pokémon. The creature was clearly injured, with a deep gash on its side and its breathing shallow, its only sign of movement.

Aoki knelt beside Mew, her face etched with concern. "It's badly hurt. We need to get it help."

Before they could do anything to help, a loud, deafening roar echoed through the forest. Emerging from the shadows as if appearing out of thin air was a furious Nidoqueen, its eyes blazing with rage. It stomped towards them, clearly protective of the area, not caring who or what it was facing.

"We have to defend ourselves!" Rory shouted. "Silver, use Bubble!"

"Blaze, use Ember!" Aoki commanded.

Silver leapt from Rory's shoulder and unleashed a stream of bubbles at the Nidoqueen, while Blaze shot a burst of embers. The combined attacks struck Nidoqueen, but the powerful Pokémon shook them off and roared again, charging forward with a Body Slam.

"Silver, dodge and use Quick Attack!" Rory called.

Silver nimbly avoided Nidoqueen's attack and dashed forward, striking with incredible speed. Nidoqueen growled, then retaliated with a Poison Sting, sending a flurry of poisonous needles towards Silver.

"Blaze, intercept with Flame Charge!" Aoki shouted.

Blaze enveloped itself in flames and charged at Nidoqueen, colliding with the Poison Sting and creating a burst of fire and poison that filled the air. Nidoqueen staggered, but its determination didn't waver.

"We have to end this quickly," Rory said, urgency in his voice. "Silver, use Water Pulse!"

Silver concentrated, forming a ball of water between its hands before launching it at Nidoqueen. The attack struck Nidoqueen head-on, causing it to roar in pain and finally collapse to the ground, exhausted and unable to continue fighting.

"We did it," Aoki said, breathing a sigh of relief. She quickly turned her attention back to Mew, gently cradling it in her arms. "We need to get Mew to Professor Cedar right away."

Rory nodded. "You take the herbs to the old man. I'll take Mew to Professor Cedar."

Aoki glanced around and spotted the herbs they had been searching for growing near where Mew had been lying. She quickly gathered them and placed them in her bag. "Got it. Be careful, Rory."

"You too," Rory replied. "Come on, Silver. We need to hurry."
