A/N: Hello again! I'm back, with a surprise second upload. What? I never said when the next chapter would be ready, just that it would be soon.
In all fairness, I kind of wanted to get this chapter out soon. I know that it isn't very long, but it's a "cut scene" chapter, so they aren't really meant to be. It's more so you guys start theorizing where this going to go. Trust me, when I say it's going to get crazy. Especially some of the Boss fights.
Anyway, hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 6
Samus stepped through the doorway and into the next room beyond, which turned out to be more tunnels. Not that she was surprised by that, but after the trip to get here, she was more than a bit tired of seeing rocks.
Still, at least there wasn't anything in this section. The next one, though...
As soon as she opened the door there came the now familiar squawk-hiss of a Creep and she was rushed by a trio that had been standing around in the access tunnel. She killed the first one under a barrages of projectiles before the second two slammed into her, knocking her energy bar from69% to 63% to 54% as they battered her with their claws and a spinning tail strike. She leaped back through the still open doorway to charge of a shot, forcing the two Grimm to bottleneck at the hatch as they tried to squeeze though the small opening at the same time.
The resulting blast from the Charge Shot killed one outright and heavily damaged the other, stunning it long enough for Samus to riddle it with more shots from her Power Beam. It screamed and died before fading away like all the others.
Samus sighed in relief at that and stepped back through the opened hatch. It was only then that she noticed that none of the corpses had left behind an Energy Orb, the material she used to replenish her energy reserves. She glanced around again to make certain, but, no. There were none. Did these creatures... not drop energy, on death?
She'd never seen that before. Even the Ing, those eldritch-like shadow creatures from Dark Aether still posses energy in some form on death. Were these creatures... not actually alive? That... made no sense.
She blinked at that and shook her head to clear such thoughts from her mind, thinking that this was yet another thing to discuss with the Federation detachment down on the planet when she reached them, before turning and firing on the trio of barrels that were also in the tunnel. Once destroyed the barrels each revealed a Small Energy Orb. Samus took them in, stepping into the small purple energy globules, restoring herself back up to84%.
She sighed in relief at that, feeling no small amount of confident return to her. She wasn't scared by the prospect of having to secure and restore her energy reserves another way than what she was used to, but it had induced a momentary spur of nervousness.
She opened the hatch at the end of the tunnel, an old-fashioned, depowered door with a Grapple Point to activate it, and walked through to herself on a naturally occurring shelf overlooking the forest beyond with a semi-covered path leading down into the woods below. Next to this was a stand-a-lone Power Station, where she could restore her energy.
She made to go to the (Save) Station only to stop and stared out at the sky as something caught her eye. She turned and stared, transfixed at what she saw there.
In the night skies overhead, under a rainbow burst of reds, whites, and yellows the images in space changed before her eyes. First, the skies above showed the remnants of the battle between the Space Pirates and the Federation Fleet before with an explosion of energy and a blur of motion that took over the sky it changed to a scene of the Research Station still in orbit with a small, localized detachment of the Federation fleet patrolling,. Then, with another burst of cosmic energy, the view changed again, this time to one of carnage and destruction as the previously idyllic view changed to one where the Federation fleet was engaged in a desperate battle between a larger force of Pirate vessels. Ships of all sizes were being ripped apart as plasmic fires raged all around light up the night sky like it was dawn and dozens of drop pods descended onto the planet even as many of them were shot out of the sky by energy lances, lasers and missiles of all kinds.
She blinked and the view changed once more. Now, there was no battle, no Station, no Federation presence of any kind. It was still, silent. And then it changed once more and there was a massive asteroid on collision course with the planet. an asteroid she recognized. A Phason Seed. The image before her showed the Seed starting to heat up on entering the atmosphere, then it changed once more, back to the current night sky.
She stood there and watch as the skies above replayed the major events of the planet. Again and again they replayed in the sky for her to see. Eventually, she turned from that and walked over to the Station to recharge her energy, before continuing down into the forest below.
Now, she had an idea of what was going on here. There was a Seed involved. There were Pirates. And, there were these... Grimm creatures. She wasn't quite sure how it all connected yet, but she was sure that she would find answers at the Federation Base, beyond these woods.
A/N: So, big shocker right there. Much like with Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the Phazon Seed caused the planet to enter a kind of Transdimensional flux, only instead of there being Two Remnants, it's caught in a kind of Time Loop. That's how we'll get some old antagonists, who should be dead by now, like Ridley, Dark Samus and Kraid but also various Grimm as bosses, too, among others, but I don't want to spoil anything.
Next chapter will be another "walkthrough" and shall reintroduce the Space Pirates, and maybe a couple of RWBY characters - Finally! I'll let you debate amongst yourselves who that will be.
Anyway, take care out there and God bless, Essiter out!
