By the time Willow managed to find the other Trolls, they were in a giant pot with the rest of the village. Bridget was standing on the outside of the pot with her ear pressed against the surface.
"What are you doing?" The chef demanded sneaking up to Bridget. "The king is waiting. Get those Trolls up there!"
"Sorry, Chef," Bridget apologized nodding . She turned around and started pushing the dish down the hall.
"Oh, you are sorry," the chef said, watching Bridget walk. Willow narrowed her eyes and waited to follow Bridget until she was no longer in sight of the chef.
Using her hair, Willow landed on the pot, facing Bridget. "Willow!" Bridget gasped. "What are you doing here? Why aren't you with the others?"
"The chef separated me," Willow said, holding her ribs. Her ear perked up. "Is that Branch singing?" She asked, smiling. She blinked, surprised when Bridget picked her up and placed her on her shoulder. "What are you doing, Bridget?"
Bridget turned the pot towards the front doors of the castle. "I can't let you guys be eaten . It's not right."
Willow smiled and hugged the Bergen girl. "Thank you, Bridget. You're a good friend." The two made it to the doors and opened them.
Once they were safely outside, Willow was set on the floor and Bridget worked to open the pot. She stuck her head in and looked around. "Poppy!"
"Bridget?" Poppy asked, surprised. Bridget looked around, nervous before she stuck her hand in to let Poppy climb on. "What are you doing?"
"I can't let them eat you," Bridget said. "Come on! You gotta go!" She insisted when Poppy tried to protest. She tilted the pot and set the other Trolls free. "Hurry! Go, go, go! Get out of here!"
"No!" Poppy denied. "Bridget, if you go in there without us, you know what they'll do."
"I know," Bridget said, getting ready to go back inside.
Branch stood back while the other Trolls were escaping. "Did you see Willow in there?" He asked before Bridget could open the door. "The chef took her before she left to gather the rest of the Trolls."
Willow grinned and walked over. "I'm here, big bro." She grimaced when Branch ran up and pulled her into a hug. "I'm glad to see you too." She pulled away from him and smiled brightly. "You have your colors back! I'm so happy for you."
Branch smiled as the two started to run away with the rest of the Trolls. "Yeah. Poppy helped me with it." He looked at her, clearly still upset, even with his colors back. "I can't believe I almost lost you, though."
"I'm sorry I scared you," Willow apologized. "But don't worry, I'm not leaving you." Not like their grandma did.
Branch nodded before paying attention to how his sister was running. "Are you limping? And why are you breathing like that?"
Willow chuckled nervously when they made it to the tree. "I may have dropped a glass jar with me in it off a Bergen dresser."
Branch groaned, annoyed. "Of course you did." He directed the other Trolls down into the tunnel.
"Come on," Poppy encouraged the Trolls. "Everybody, let's go. No Troll left behind." She turned back to the Bergen castle.
"Poppy?" Branch asked, concerned. He had Willow sit down so she could take a break.
Poppy sighed and turned to look at the siblings. "Bridget just ruined her life to save ours. It's not right!" She walked over to Branch. "She deserves to be happy as much as we do." She turned back to the castle. "They all do!"
Branch sighed and looked at Poppy. "You're going to do something crazy, aren't you?" At Poppy's look, he smiled. "Alright. Let me get the rest of our friends." He gestured to his sister. "Can you hang out with her while I get them?"
"You called them your friends!" Poppy gushed. She grinned and nodded. "I'll keep her company." She sat down beside Willow while Branch went into the tunnel to collect the Snack Pack. She looked at Willow, who was leaning against the tree. "How are you feeling?" She asked.
Willow sighed. "I'm alright," she said. "I'm upset that I scared Branch so bad , and I'm irritated I got hurt." She grinned at her friend. "Thank you, for helping Branch get his colors back. You don't know how long I've been waiting for that to happen."
Poppy grinned. "Of course. I don't even know how it happened," she admitted. "He was helping me get my colors back." At Willow's surprised look, she elaborated. "I gave up hope while in that pot with the Trolls. Branch gave it back to me."
The two of them sat in silence while they waited for Branch to come back. When he arrived with the Snack Pack, Poppy told them her plan to crash Trollstice and save Bridget. Willow stood up to join them. "Alright, let's go."
"Oh, no you don't," Branch said, gently pushing her to sit down . "You are not going anywhere near the castle. Especially not while you're injured." `Willow crossed her arms, irritated. "Well, I'm not going back to the village without you."
Branch glared at her. " I'm not going to lose you to the Bergen's again." He crossed his arms. "This plan of Poppy's might work, but I'm not letting you put your life at risk again." He crossed his arms. "I'm playing the big brother card. You are not going. I won't be able to focus on this plan if I have to worry about you getting hurt."
Poppy got between the two siblings. "How about a compromise?" She suggested. She looked at Willow. "You're hurt, so it is a bad idea for you to be going back to the castle. But you don't have to go back to the village. You could stay here, in the Troll Tree until we get back ." She smiled at her friend. "That way, you'll be the first to know we're safe."
Willow looked at her friends, conflicted. "Fine," she sighed. She got up and went to her brother, concern written on her face. "If you get hurt, I'll never forgive you," she warned. "So you better come back to this tree safe."
Branch smiled and hugged his sister. "I'll be fine. Don't worry about me."
"Not possible," Willow muttered into the hug. She held out her fist. "You and me?"
"Me and you," Branch confirmed, bumping her fist with his. He looked at their friends. "Let's go."
Willow watched as her friends left for the Bergen Castle. She sighed and stood up. "May as well go to Grandma's old pod while I'm here," She muttered. She walked around the barren tree and shuddered. She hadn't been there in twenty years and it still gave her the creeps.
When Willow made it to their grandma's pod, she sighed and walked in. It hadn't changed at all. It was dusty, sure, and the furniture was knocked over . That was probably from the last Trollstice when they found out the Trolls had escaped. But it still felt like their grandma's home.
She went to her grandma's room first. Grandma Rosiepuff liked pictures, so she knew the photo albums would be in there. She sat down on her grandma's bed with one of the photo albums. It was one of her brothers before Brozone happened. Grandma Rosipuff was in a few of them. She had to guess the older brothers took pictures to make sure she could get to be in them. She smiled softly at the grin on her grandma's face.
(Willow)
You used to call me your angel
Said I was sent straight down from heaven
You'd hold me close in your arms
I loved the way you felt so strong
I never wanted you to leave
I wanted you to stay here holding me
She closed the book and placed it in her hair for safekeeping before moving and grabbing a few other photo albums of their family.
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear, every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you
Sha, la, la, la, la
I miss you
Willow moved on to the next room, the older brother's room. She didn't get a chance to know them, and it hurt to know they left without her and Branch. But she hoped they were safe and happy wherever they were.
I know you're in a better place, yeah
But I wish that I could see your face, oh
I know you're where you need to be
Even though it's not here with me
She grabbed some small things of theirs. Spruce's favorite shampoo, the book Clay had under his pillow. She managed to find some of Floyd's earrings and a pair of gloves she felt probably belonged to John Dory at one time.
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear, every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you
Sha, la, la, la, la
Finally, she made it to her and Branch's room. Before their grandma passed, they were still young enough to share a room. She knew what she was looking for in this room at least.
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear, every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
She couldn't find her brother's stuffed crocodile, but she managed to find her old toy lion. She smiled sadly and hugged her toy close to her before walking out of the bedroom.
I miss you
Sha, la, la, la, la
I miss you
(I miss you, you)
By the time Willow was done looking through everything, she managed to grab a bag and fill it with the things in her hair so they wouldn't fall out. She stuck the bag on her back and walked out of the pod in time to watch a flaming pot fly down the castle stairs with the chef inside of it. She raised her brow in confusion. "What am I missing?"
Willow made it to the base of the Troll Tree when it came back to life. All of the Trolls were there now. King Peppy crowned Poppy as the new Queen of the Trolls. Willow grinned and patted her on the shoulder before joining the rest of the Snack Pack. "I can't believe I missed such a massive dance party she muttered to Cooper as she watched Branch and Poppy be lifted into the sky by Smidge.
"To be fair," Biggie said, leaning down so he could be heard over the singing and cheering. "We're pretty sure you broke some ribs. Not sure how much fun you would have had, dancing."
Willow grunted, crossing her arms. "Still think it's not fair I missed out on an entire village dance party."
DJ Suki grinned and took the bag Willow was carrying. "Don't worry. There'll be plenty of dance parties. Let me carry this though. If you did break something, I don't think Branch will appreciate us letting you carry anything."
Willow sighed and nodded and sat down to wait for her brother and Poppy to get down. When Branch got down, she stood up and hugged him. "I'm glad you're safe," she said.
Branch smiled. "You too, sis." He looked at the bag DJ Suki was holding. "Did you find some things from the Grandma's pod to bring back home?" He asked, nervous.
Willow nodded. "Yeah. I got some photo albums and Leo." She shrugged, ignoring the pain in her ribs. "I couldn't find Crocko, though. I'm sorry." At Branch's disappointed nod, she pulled away from him. "Can we go home now?" She asked. "I'm tired."
Branch rolled his eyes and smiled. "Sure, sis." When he turned around, he stumbled when she jumped on his back. "What are you doing?"
"I'm injured," she said, grinning. "Carry me."
Branch scoffed. "You're two years younger than me. You're too old to be acting like this."
"But I'm tired," She whined playfully. "You don't want me to hurt myself walking to the bunker, do you?"
Branch rolled his eyes and started walking. "Fine, but I am not carrying you the whole way." Willow grinned and hugged her brother as they started the walk home, her friends laughing at the sibling's antics.
And that's the end of the first movie. Hope everyone enjoyed it. Up next is the aftermath and then a few episodes of The Beat Goes On. Thank you so much for reading and I'll see you in the next chapter!
