Chapter 13

"Your food ma'am!", "Hmm? Oh! That looks tasty thank you!" Valerie said to the waitress who brought her what looked like a grilled cheese sandwich. "Is there anything else i could get you? More coffee?" the waitress asks, "That's all thank you! Your very kind!" Valerie simply told her while noticing that the waiter at the counter who she orginal spoke to was giving her a strange wink.

Valerie knew immediately that this was no ordinary wink. She had the feeling that he was checking her out. All Valerie could do was just smile awkardly at him. Is he comes over and tries to flirt with her, she is just going to simply say she is not interest or say that her heart belongs to someone else. She begins to day dream about Radius Ulna Humerus who owns the Body Shop Garage back in Walkerville.

She then reflected on the field trip she took her class on to his garage. Ralphie one of her students wanted to build a robot to help with his chores. So Valerie thought it would be a great idea to make him and the class learn about body mechanics whilst being there. "That was a fun field trip!" she thought in her head as she sipped her coffee.

Suddenly she began to hear a male's voice speak to her and she came out of her daydream. It was the waiter who had winked at her "Everything alright here?" he asks, she placed a smile on her "Oh everything is fine! Ah...ah?", "The name is Fred and you are?". Valerie looked as Fred put out this hand for a handshake, she went in for the handshake placing her right hand into his. She couldn't be rude "I'm Valerie, its nice to meet you Fred!" she simply answered back to him.

Fred had a very firm handshake which Valerie admired "Got a quite strong grip there Fred!", "Oh yeah! Sorry i've always had that! Even my mom tells me to loosen up when i handshake or hold someones hand!" Fred said with a laugh. Valerie giggled too. "Hey the reason why i have come over is that, there was a women who came in earlier who looked very much like you and i was wondering if you are related?" Fred asks curiously.

Valerie's reaction to him was surprising but also excited "Oh?" she replied to Fred "Yeah she was with three other people a couple and another guy wearing a bowtie" Fred says to her. Valerie smiled at him "Yes i do know that but oh dear, it appears that i have missed them!" she whispered under a breath. "So you knew those people? They all had British accents and the curly headed women looked very much like you pretty lady" Fred tells Valerie making her blush.

Valerie whilst feeling her cheeks burn up she simply answers back to him "Well yes i guess you can say we have some relation and, and, i obviously got my times mixed up, silly me!". She made a fake giggle towards Fred who was still looking at her. "Oh no that's too bad, i hate that when that happens, well your welcome to chill out here as much as you like Valerie!" Fred says to her with a friendly smile. As he began to leave her be, Valerie decided to ask him one more question as she thanked him "Thank you Fred, So tell me what year is this?". Fred with a puzzled look on his face "2010?" he answers to her confusingly as he heads back behind the counter.

Just then some customers come bursting into the diner. Appearing to be in some sort of argument. Valerie gasped as she immediately recognised who they were, it was Amy, Rory and River!. She looked towards Fred who was about to welcome them back but then he looked over towards her and then back at River in shock. He went slient and thought not to disturb their conversation.

They walked towards the middle of the diner still in deep conversation not even noticing the customers in the room including herself. She quickly grabbed a menu and decided to hide behind it. She felt that maybe now wasn't the time to present herself to her sister, mother and father. Maybe she can sneak out without being seen!. She didn't want to mess with time now as she quickly realised that Amy and Rory do not know that River is their daughter yet and it would be extremly awkard for her to jump out and say "Hi i'm your long lost twin sister and daughter!".

As she was planning her get away, she couldn't help but notice that the Doctor wasn't with them. Valerie wondered where he was or what had happened to him until she heard someone being mentioned as dead!. She hears River ask a question after Amy said "He's dead", "Space 1969, what did he mean?". "Space 1969?" Valerie said in her head "That was the year of the first moon landing but ok!".

Amy then pipes up telling River to it doesn't matter before Rory faces her and says that it mattered to him, "So it matters to us" River answers back to them. Who is this person they were talking about?. Amy keeps on repeating the same phrase "He's dead", then River again answers back to her "but he still needs us, i know Amy...i know. But right now we have to focus".

Speech kept following in Valerie's mind as she continued to listen"Focus on what? Are they talking about the Doctor? He cannot be dead! Impossible!". She then notices Rory heading towards a table although she couldn't see what he had spotted "Look!" then he approaches Fred behind the counter "Excuse me, who was sitting over there?".

Fred just replies with a simple "Some guy" before contining to dry milkshake glasses. Valerie notices River picking up what looked like a blue envelope off the table "The Doctor knew he was going to his death, so he sent out messages. When you know its the end , who do you call?" she asks Amy and Rory who looked surprised seeing the envelope. It was like they had seen one just like it before "Your friends, people you trust" says Rory. Then River holds up the envelope and asks the question "Number One. Who did the Doctor trust the most?".

Suddenly and in great timing the back door opens and who should be strolling in but the Doctor himself! "Ok this is just getting stranger and stranger but what excitment this is!" Valerie whispered to herself as she peered from behind the menu. The bowtie wearing Doctor had a straw in his mouth and had quite the smile on him as he pointed towards River, Amy and Rory who remained speechless.

"This is cold, even by your standards, this is cold" River firmly says to the Doctor, the Doctor continues to smile and simply tells her "Or "Hello" as people used to say. Amy stares at him "Doctor?", "I just popped out to get my special straw. It adds more fizz" says the Doctor. She then walks up to her friend and does a little circle while gentlely touching him in the process "Your Ok..." she quietly tells him.

The Doctor while having a concerned look on this face quickly hugs her and tells her that of course his is ok infact he is the king of ok before saying that that title is rubbish. He did releases Amy and goes to hug Rory calling him "Rory the Roman" before saying hello to him. Valerie remembered as she was finishing her grilled cheese why the Doctor called him "Rory the Roman" after seeing Rory's past when he was in his Roman Verison. Before the second big bang!.

The Doctor then immediately turns to River and began speaking to her in a flirtatious way telling her she is a bad girl. River without saying a word slaps him!. "Ouch! She's got some fire!" Valerie said in the her mind as she noticed that River seemed furious at him. The Doctor was speechless for a second before facing her again and simply saying "Ok. I'm assuming thats for something i haven't done yet!", River responds "Yes...it is", "Good, looking forward to it!" the Doctor answers back to her.

Amy, Rory and River are still in shock with the presents of the Doctor. Rory asks the Doctor how could he be hear and the Doctor simply tells him that he was invited, same as them or it would've been a hell of a coincidence. Who ever gave him the invite also provided the date & map references. Amy then asks River if she knows what's going on and River asks Amy to ask the Doctor who old he is.

"That's a bit personal!" the Doctor tells them before River begins to demand he tells her his age. The Doctor while chewing on his straw finally tells them is current age "909". River then keeps asking him questions, one was whether they had met Jim the Fish "Who's Jim the Fish?" the Doctor asks her "Funny that Doctor, i was going to ask the same question!" Valerie whispered to herself. The she noticed the Doctor walking away from the group and she felt it was time for her to move too to avoid being seen.

Thankfully, Fred then comes over asking if she would like anything else "Fine thank you Fred, please may i pay the bill, i've gotta run!" she quickly tells the waiter. "On the house today pretty lady" Fred immediately says to her, Valerie felt bad for not paying but politely responded with "Why thank you Fred, thank you ever so much!" with a smile. "Come see us again while on your travels! Goodbye Valerie it was lovely meeting you!" he softly says to her before going back behind the counter. "Same to you Fred! I'll make sure to return soon and make sure you allow me to give you some money next time!" she cried out to him.

During the quick goodbye to Fred, Valerie was still about to keep focused on the conversation between the Doctor, Amy, Rory and River. She heard River mentioning a man by the name of Canton Everett Delaware III before the Doctor had asked her who decided to recruit them all. She remembered River saying "Someone who trusts you more then anybody else in the universe" while he asked who that was "Spoliers" she simply said to him with a cheeky smile.

Valerie left the diner and summonded Bike who appeared before her in a flash "Spoliers, i love that saying, this must be where the foursum go and investigate the impossible astronaut!" she whispers to the vechicle while hopping on to it. As she turned the key, its revving noise could be heard, she then speaks to it sweety "Now then Bike what else can we explore involving my sister River Song?".
