Zoro smiled gently at his wife, who warmly welcomed him home from work. His strong arms swiftly caught the embrace that was thrown at him.
"Welcome home, dear," his wife-Nami greeted cheerfully.
Zoro held her tight and softly kissed the top of her head, inhaling the familiar scent of his wife he hadn't seen in a week.
"Where's my gift?" Nami asked, teasingly.
"A husband just got back from a business trip, and you ask about gifts? How about asking how I'm doing first?" Zoro replied, sarcastically.
Nami chuckled, her eyes twinkling with joy at the sound of Zoro's voice, which she missed dearly. "Well, clearly, you're healthy and strong enough to come home by yourself, aren't you?"
Zoro released her from his embrace and gently flicked her forehead. "You're already wearing the gift," he said, pointing to her neck before heading to their room.
Nami stared at Zoro's back in confusion, but her expression changed to surprise when she noticed a necklace around her neck that she hadn't realized was there.
"Zoro!" Nami gasped, touching the necklace with emotion. "It's... so beautiful..." She smiled brightly.
Zoro smiled back, pleased that his wife liked his gift. "But nothing compares to the beauty of my wife," he added.
Nami playfully elbowed Zoro's side, making him yelp. "Oh, come on! Sweet-talking?" she scoffed, trying to hide her blushing cheeks.
Zoro being romantic? That's a rare occasion.
"What did you cook, babe?" Zoro asked as he walked towards the dining table, followed by Nami.
"I made your favorite onigiri. But if you're tired of it, we can eat out. You've got your card, right?" Nami grinned mischievously.
Zoro gently patted her head and said, "No, let's eat at home. Besides, I missed my wife's cooking." He then sat down and started eating her homemade food.
Nami squinted her eyes suspiciously. Zoro being flirty twice in a day? Something was definitely up.
"You met your mistress during your week-long trip, didn't you?" she accused, making Zoro choke on his food.
"How could you even say that???" Zoro protested after swallowing his food.
"Well, you've never been this sweet. What else would you be hiding?" Nami shot back.
Zoro could only grin at her playful accusation. He then gently took her wrist and pulled her into his lap.
"I just missed you so much."
Nami was touched, and all her suspicions vanished. "I missed you too." She cupped his face in her hands. Their eyes locked, sharing the unspoken love that radiated from both of them.
Zoro rested his forehead against hers. "I won't leave you, Nami. All I want is to see you happy," he whispered, his voice so soft only she could hear. "You're my life."
Nami's eyes filled with tears. "I'll be happy as long as I'm with you."
Before they knew it, the space between them closed, and they could feel each other's breath until Zoro leaned in first and kissed her softly. It was a tender kiss, filled with longing for the wife he had missed.
Nami was the one to break the kiss, much to Zoro's dismay. "I think I know why you're being so romantic today." She narrowed her eyes at him.
Zoro raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to continue.
"You just want to get laid, right?" Nami smirked.
Zoro chuckled but didn't deny it. "Correct," he whispered before licking her ear, making Nami giggle from the ticklish sensation.
"Pervert." Nami lightly tapped his chest.
"So what? What's wrong with being perverted with my own wife?" He captured her lips again, this time more passionately, with more heat and desire than before.
That moment was intimate, as if the world around them disappeared. The simple yet strong love they shared swirled between them. In Zoro's heart, he knew that with Nami, he could face anything. But he also forgot about the shadows of his past that silently loomed over the new, peaceful life they had built.
In the midst of their passionate kiss, the sudden sound of the doorbell interrupted the soft moans of the married couple. Startled, Nami quickly adjusted her clothes and walked to the door, curiosity filling her steps.
Zoro followed her, but as soon as he saw who was standing at the door, his breath hitched. A blond man, dressed neatly, smiled warmly. It was someone who had once helped him escape his dark past.
"Good evening! I'm Sanji," the man greeted warmly. "Is this the residence of Roronoa Zoro?"
"Yes, it is," Nami responded, looking confused as she gazed at Sanji, while Zoro stood still behind her, feeling the sudden tension in the air. His jaw tightened.
"Nami, you should rest," Zoro said firmly, before Nami could invite Sanji inside.
Looking puzzled, Nami nodded. "Alright, I'll go to the kitchen," she said hesitantly, then walked away.
Zoro then followed Sanji to his car, parked in front of the house. The quiet night made their conversation feel heavier and laden with secrets.
Once seated inside the car, Sanji started, "Luffy sent me to deliver this message. There are rumors circulating. Your former boss is investigating your whereabouts."
Zoro remained silent, his face tense. His past, buried so deep for so long, suddenly felt dangerously close. "What do you mean?" His voice was low, but cautious. "Why now?"
Sanji sighed. "I don't know the exact details. But they're on the move, and they likely know about your life now. Worse, they might be targeting Nami."
Zoro tensed immediately, his expression changing. "Nami?" he asked, worry filling his voice. "Why does she have to be involved?"
"Because they know the fastest way to draw you out is through the person you love," Sanji answered seriously. "That's why we've arranged a team to secretly protect Nami. But don't tell her about this."
Zoro frowned. "Why not?"
Sanji's gaze sharpened. "Because we don't want her to panic. If Nami knows, she might act recklessly or worry too much. It's better for her to stay calm and continue her life as usual. Our team will handle the rest."
Zoro was silent, considering what Sanji said. "Can you be sure this stays under control?"
"We've done our best. But Zoro, if something happens, you have to be ready to act. Don't underestimate this threat," Sanji warned.
Zoro nodded slowly. "I understand. Thank you, Sanji. I won't let them touch Nami."
After the conversation ended, Zoro stepped out of the car and walked back into the house, his face filled with deepening anxiety. When he entered, he saw Nami standing near the dining table, watching him with a questioning look.
"What's wrong, Zoro?" Nami asked, concerned. "You look tense. What were you talking about?"
Zoro didn't answer, only gazing deeply at her before stepping closer and pulling her into his arms. He held her tightly, as if afraid of losing her. "It's nothing, babe. Just work stuff, there's a sudden task from the boss," he said softly, though inside, the worry continued to grow.
Nami sensed something was off but didn't want to push Zoro. In her husband's embrace, she felt the depth of his love. Yet Zoro, in his heart, knew this might be the beginning of something much darker. Holding Nami in his arms, he could only hope to protect her from whatever threat might come.
