That night, Zoro left the house with determined steps, his eyes reflecting firm resolve. He couldn't let the threats against Nami continue. His heart was restless, and the only way he thought to stop this terror was by confronting the source directly. He headed to a secret meeting place with Luffy, who had always been his most trusted ally.
Upon arriving at the agreed location, Luffy was already waiting in the corner of a narrow alley. His face was calm, but his sharp eyes betrayed his concern. "Zoro, what are you planning?" Luffy asked bluntly, without any small talk.
"I'm going to meet Kaido," Zoro replied without hesitation. "I can't let this go on. The terror has reached Nami. They're deliberately targeting her to lure me back."
Luffy slowly shook his head. "Zoro, don't act recklessly. Kaido doesn't just want you back as a hitman. You know full well what he wants—he wants you to fully return to the dark world. Have you forgotten how hard it was to get out of that life?"
Zoro's hands clenched at his sides, his jaw tightening at Luffy's words. He knew Luffy was right, leaving that dark world hadn't been easy. He had sacrificed so much to live free from violence and blood. But now, with Nami in danger, Zoro felt like he had no other choice.
"I don't care, Luffy," he muttered, his deep voice filled with determination. "As long as Nami is involved, I'll do whatever it takes. Even if it means dirtying my hands again."
Luffy sighed deeply, seeing the conviction in Zoro's eyes. "Zoro, are you sure this is the best way? If you go back, you might never get out again. Do you really want to drag Nami into that darkness too?"
Zoro remained silent, his fists clenching tighter until his knuckles turned white. "Nami won't be dragged into the darkness. I'll make sure she's safe, even if I have to return to that hell."
Luffy's gaze softened, not wanting to oppose his old friend's decision. He knew how far Zoro would go to protect the ones he loved. Luffy just looked at him for a moment before saying quietly, "Remember Kuina's sacrifice. She died so you could live free, so you could find a different path. Don't waste that."
Luffy's words pierced Zoro's heart, shaking him for a moment. He turned away, not wanting Luffy to see the doubt creeping into his mind. The memory of Kuina, the person who had changed his life's purpose, seemed to haunt him, reminding him of their shared struggle.
Without another word, Luffy left Zoro standing alone in the night's darkness. Zoro stayed still, his eyes lowered, his mind wrestling with the decision he had just made. But the image of Nami's smile and the sound of her frightened sobs continued to fuel his resolve. Zoro knew that, no matter the consequences, he had to do this—for Nami.
With one deep breath, Zoro made up his mind. "I have to do it."
--
Zoro returned home quickly, but his steps halted abruptly when he saw the front door wide open. His heart raced. His mind instantly filled with terrible thoughts.
"Nami!" he called out frantically, his voice echoing through the quiet hallway. No response. A cold chill crept up his spine. He ran to their bedroom, hoping to find her there.
But when he pushed open the door, he found Robin and Brook lying unconscious on the floor. Robin was gasping for breath, while Brook lay motionless.
Zoro rushed over and shook Robin's body. "Robin! What happened?" he asked anxiously.
Robin groaned softly, trying to open her eyes. With labored breathing, she said, "King… he came. He was going to kidnap Nami…"
Those words struck deep into Zoro's heart. His face darkened, and his heart seemed to stop beating.
Robin continued weakly, "Brook and I tried to stop him… but we were too weak… we lost. I'm sorry, Zoro… King managed to take Nami."
Zoro stood still for a moment, his gaze clouded with rage. He looked out the window, his jaw clenched. Without saying a word, he punched the window hard, sending shards of glass flying. Blood began to drip from his hand, but the pain was nothing compared to the fury boiling in his chest. He was angry at Kaido, but he hated himself even more—for failing to protect Nami.
"I'm going to find Nami," Zoro growled, his voice low and filled with fury. He turned quickly and prepared to leave, but Brook, who had just regained consciousness, grabbed Zoro's arm.
"Wait, Zoro!" Brook said worriedly. "Don't be reckless. We need a plan. If we rush in, we might only make things worse."
Zoro harshly pulled his arm away from Brook. "Every second we waste here is another second Nami spends in their hands!" His eyes burned with anger. "I can't let them hurt her any longer."
Robin, still lying weakly, tried to calm Zoro as well. "Zoro, listen to us. If you go now, you don't know where Kaido is. They may have already moved. We need to plan this carefully."
Zoro hesitated, but Robin handed him her phone, already connected to Sanji. On the other end, Sanji spoke calmly but firmly, "Zoro, listen to me. We can't act recklessly. If we charge in blindly, we might lose Nami for good. Go to our headquarters. Luffy is already waiting there. We'll plan Nami's rescue. You have to stay calm."
Zoro gripped the phone tightly, closing his eyes for a moment. "Every second we delay…" he whispered softly.
"I know, Zoro," Sanji replied, his tone gentler. "But we'll never forgive ourselves if we fail. We're all here to save Nami. Let's do this the right way."
Zoro exhaled deeply. His anger still burned, but he knew Sanji was right. With a heavy heart, he said quietly, "Fine. I'll head to headquarters."
After hanging up, Zoro helped Robin and Brook to their feet. "We will save Nami," he said with renewed determination. "No matter what happens."
--
Zoro sat in the corner of the room with a blank stare, guilt and rage wrestling in his mind. The cup of coffee Sanji had placed in his hands felt heavy, but it was nothing more than a lifeless object in his chaotic thoughts. Sanji sat beside him, lighting a cigarette and exhaling smoke slowly.
"If only I had followed Kaido's orders sooner..." Zoro said softly, his voice nearly drowned by the surge of restrained anger. "Nami wouldn't have been kidnapped like this."
Sanji took a deep drag on his cigarette before blowing out the smoke. "You know, Kaido isn't the type to let things go smoothly. Whether you went back or not, he would still hurt the people you love."
Zoro gripped his coffee cup tightly, the muscles in his hand tensing as his anger simmered.
"I'll kill him..." Zoro growled, his voice filled with barely contained rage. "If he dares to hurt Nami, I'll never forgive him. Kaido took Kuina from me before... and now, Nami."
Sanji looked at Zoro, his voice calm. "Save your anger, Zoro. You'll need it when you face Kaido."
Suddenly, the door burst open, startling everyone in the room. Usopp rushed in with a panicked look on his face, gasping for breath.
"A package just arrived at headquarters," he said hurriedly. "It contains a flash drive. You need to see this."
They immediately watched the video on the flash drive. On the screen, Nami was seen tied up and unconscious, her clothes torn, and her body covered in bruises. Each sign of violence on her body felt like a direct punch to Zoro's heart, making his blood boil. Kaido's horrifying laughter echoed in the background of the video, filled with cruel taunts.
"Look at your beloved wife, Green Reaper," Kaido's voice boomed menacingly. "Get angry! Return to being the merciless demon you once were, because someone like you doesn't deserve love."
The video ended, leaving the room in tense silence. But Zoro couldn't hold back his rage any longer. He stood up quickly, grabbing his three swords, his eyes burning with vengeance. Without saying a word, he stormed out, his only goal now: to kill Kaido.
However, his steps halted when he heard Luffy's stern voice call his name. "Zoro!"
Zoro turned, his breath heavy, his fury not yet quenched. "This is my business with Kaido," Zoro hissed, his voice sharp.
Luffy stood in front of him with a determined look. "Our priority is to save Nami," Luffy said firmly. "You're the one who must save her. I'll fight Kaido."
Zoro gripped his swords tighter, trying to contain the anger that was begging to be unleashed. But Luffy was right. Nami was his priority. Saving her was more important than revenge.
He exhaled deeply and nodded slowly, accepting the truth. "Alright," Zoro muttered, his voice calmer but still tense. "Nami is my priority."
Luffy, with a serious look, raised his hand and gave the signal. "We move now. Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, Robin, Franky, Brook—we're attacking Kaido's base and rescuing Nami."
With the same determination, they all prepared to move, leaving the room and heading toward the battle that would decide everything.
