"Congratulations guys! I'm really happy for you," I said to them.
"Thanks, bro!" Masen said as he hugged me.
"Thanks!" Bella smiled at me.
She was happy, and for the first time in my life, I didn't like that!
"Edward and Alice are the only ones aware of everything," he said. "I told them last week."
Bella shot a glance at me. She seemed... angry?
Why would she be angry?
Was it because I kept the surprise from her?
But it was supposed to be a surprise, so...?
She turned towards Alice.
"Hence the hair," she smiled at Alice.
"Yes!" Alice squealed with joy, "I wanted to make sure you look the best today!"
She was looking extremely stunning today!
I found her beautiful in whatever she wore, but she totally took my breath away today!
Took my breath away? I sighed. It was about time I stop thinking like this about my future sister-in-law!
"I'm sorry for keeping the surprise from you," I said, "But it was supposed to be a surprise, so..."
"Of course!" She smiled, "I was really... surprised!"
Why did it feel like a sarcastic response?
Wait, was she really okay? But why wouldn't she?
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
"What kind of question is this?" Masen asked. Okay, I guess I had no right to ask that question!
"Yeah, is there any reason I shouldn't be?" She smiled.
"Exactly!" Masen said, "She's just shocked by everything, and that's what I wanted to do... To surprise and shock her completely!"
Maybe I was trying to read what I wanted to! She must be a bit shocked, and that's it!
"Yeah, you don't have any reason not to be okay," I smiled back.
"Edward, can you put your phone aside for some time? We all are together after so long!" Alice told me at the dinner table. I was trying to avoid any eye-contact with Bella. I guess it's going to take some time to get back to normal!
"It's Tanya..." I said while typing, "She needs my apartment key."
Tanya and her boyfriend were moving back from New York, and they had to put some stuff in my apartment temporarily.
"I had given it to Emmet. Check with him. -E"
"Oh Tanya?" Alice said excitedly, "I liked her!"
"I called him, but he's not picking up my call. Let me check with Rose. -T"
"You say that about all my girlfriends," I said as I continued to type.
"When does he ever pick up calls? Yeah, check with Rose. -E"
"I didn't say that about Lauren," Alice said and I rolled my eyes.
"But I really liked Tanya. I was really sad when you guys broke up." She said.
"Dude, I feel I'm really getting old. This shit is tiring! I'm not moving anywhere ever again. -T"
"I told you... We all are like old people now. -E"
She sent me some funny gif with an old lady being taken to the hospital in a wheelchair.
"Seriously, I'm like this right now! -T"
I chuckled.
"What?" Alice asked.
"Nothing... She's being funny..." I said.
"Okay, I think I need to use the restroom..." Bella said as she got up from the chair.
"Btw, where should we park the car? -T"
I guess it's better to give the parking instructions over a call...
"I need to call her. Excuse me..." I said as I got up and stepped aside to call her.
