Normally, Chiori enjoyed her work. Today, not so much. She sat at her desk knitting the fabrics together. Across the room, Kirara stared at the yarn. She sat on all haunches, starry-eyed and entranced.

Chiori tried ignoring her but the nekomata snuck closer and closer. In seconds, she was only an inch from the yarn ball. Her tails wagged with anticipation.

Chiori picked up an old yarn ball and held it before Kirara. Her eyes tracked the ball when Chiori moved it left and then right. She tossed it. Kirara leaped up and caught it, rolling around with it on the floor.

She kept playing until she was all tangled up and needed Chiori to untangle her. Kirara licked her hands like paws and strolled away.

Chiori finally got some peace for three minutes, but then she felt eyes on her yarn. Glancing over her shoulder, she spotted Diona. And Lynette. And every single cat Tubby nominated to the UHA judicial branch.

The seamstress sighed. Normally she enjoyed her work. Today, not so much.
