Season 1, Saga 2: Chaos Emerald, Chapter 3: Depths of Danger
(The scene pans through several grayscale screenshots of the previous episode while two news voices comment on the incident.)
"Dr. Eggman and Rainbow King went head-to-head with Sonic and True, but True used her rage power to hammer them big time. Did they survive?" a news voice asked
"Did he escape?" another news voice asked
(The scene quickly pans to a naval armada and then the view of the Earth from outer Space.)
"Where are Eggman and Rainbow King?" both news voices asked
(Scene: The White House)
(The scene pans to the White House where the President is conversing with his third assistant.)
"Where are Eggman and Rainbow King? I need to know if they survived the attack on their ship." the President said
"We are searching the area near the crash site to see if there's any sign of them." the Director of Central Intelligence said
"If we don't track down those madmen soon, they're going to strike back. Find them!" the President said
"Right!" the Director of Central Intelligence said
(The President's third assistant turns around and leaves the office. After he leaves, the President sighs and turns to look out in the window. The scene changes to a seabed located deep underwater where the Egg Fort can be seen just lying by some rocks. Inside, Decoe whines as he tries not to make a sound as Rainbow King was in a meditation position.)
"He he he he he!" Dr. Eggman said
(Bocoe does the same thing Decoe is doing while General Rainbow who now has a scar over his right eye is doing the same thing as Rainbow King. Dr. Eggman is seen holding onto both Decoe and Bocoe with General Rainbow behind him and Rainbow King hovering above Dr. Eggman's head.)
"Doctor-" Decoe didn't get to say
(grabs Decoe by the neck, shushing him. whispers.) "Quiet! Don't make a sound. There's a search team up there listening for us. If they hear us, we're done for." Dr. Eggman whispered
"Sorry." Decoe whispered
(Outside, a naval submarine scouts through the water passing by the Egg Fort. While the five breathe in relief, Eggman tosses Decoe and Bocoe out of his grip, surprising Rainbow King and General Rainbow from it.)
"Now go outside and get this ship patched up, you lead heads!" Dr. Eggman shouted
"You too, General! They'll need your strength." Rainbow King said
"Outside? In the water?" Decoe asked
"But we will short-circuit." Bocoe said
"Not to mention rust." General Rainbow said
"You're not even a robot." Decoe said
"My armor is made of metal, ain't it!?" General Rainbow asked in anger
(Scene Change: Thorndyke Mansion - Dining room)
(Chris, True, Zee, Tails, Amy, Cream and Cheese are there having lunch.)
"Are you ready for dessert?" Ella asked
"Yeah!" True, Amy and Cream said
"I'm glad you're here, I've got good news." Chuck said
"What kind of good news, Chuck?" Tails asked
(Chuck enters with Mr. Tanaka who is holding a flat tile of passports.)
"I'm going to hand out some official documents issued by the government that you'll need to hang on to." Chuck said
"Documents?" Zee asked
"Yes. To verify your identity." Chuck said
"But what for?" True asked
"They'll help you prove who you are when you travel around. And for Tails, we have special licenses that allow him to fly any kind of aircraft he can build to any destination on the planet." Chuck said
"All these just to fly?" Tails asked
"He never needed them before." Chris said
"Well, that's the price Tails and the others will have to pay for being made residents of this place. From now on, they're going to have to follow the same rules and regulations as the rest of us." Chuck said
"Is there a way for us to get our pictures retaken?" True asked (shows her passport to Chuck showing her profile picture to be where she was covering her eyes from the flashes.)
"I'm afraid it was the best one they could find for you, True." Chuck said
(Amy opens her passport and takes a glance at it. She gets mad upon seeing her profile picture.)
"I look terrible!" Amy shouted
"Really?" Mr. Tanaka asked
"You do?" Chris asked
"Let me see." Cream said
"Why did they have to use this picture?! I look like a lunatic!" Amy shouted
"Now now, Ms. Amy. I wouldn't say that it makes you look like a lunatic, exactly." Mr. Tanaka said
"It makes me look like an insane, off-the-wall, out-of-control maniac!" (raises her arms up in anger, knocking Chris, Cream and Mr. Tanaka down.) "I HATE IT!" Amy yelled
"Hey there, guys. What's all the excitement about in here?" Sonic asked
"Sonic! Just in time. I've got your documents, too. Here, always keep this with you." Chuck said
(Chuck passes Sonic's documents to him.)
"Huh? What's this for?" Sonic asked
"It's a passport so you can go wherever you want whenever you want to." Chris said
"Pretty cool. I do like to travel. If I went everywhere I wanted to go on this whole planet, it'd take me..." (Sonic chuckles) "about a day!" Sonic said
(The scene changes to the garage where Sonic and his friends prepare to take off in the X-Tornado as True and Zee fly on Cumulo.)
"Bye, everybody." Amy said
"We'll see you later." Cream said
"Now you be careful up there. No funny stuff." Ella said
"Bye grandpa, I'll see ya!" Chris said
"I'll be waiting." Chuck said
(The palm trees on the runway lean away from it as Cumulo and the X-Tornado takes off.)
"X-Tornado, take off!" Tails said
"Let's go, Cumulo!" True said
(Mr. Tanaka and Ella wave goodbye to the gang from below.)
"Tanaka, go keep an eye on Chris, but make sure he doesn't see you." Chuck said
"Yes, sir. I will be invisible." Mr. Tanaka said
(Scene Change: The X-Tornado)
(Up in the X-Tornado, Sonic is seen cruising outside the plane with True and Zee flying close on Cumulo while Amy and Cream converse.)
"Oh, Amy, are we going to go somewhere that is sunny?" Cream asked
"Uh huh." (Amy shows Cream the travel guide she's reading.) "Look! The Grand Blue Sapphire Sea! This travel guide says it's one of the most beautiful places of the whole planet. I bet the sunsets are very romantic." Amy said
"Hey, Amy, do you read me?" Chris asked
"Huh?" Amy asked
"Check out the scenery down there. It's really pretty awesome." Chris said
"I'm not looking. I only care about one thing: and that's getting to the Sea ASAP." Amy said
"But I'm trying to tell you. We're flying over the Grand Blue Sapphire Sea right now!" Chris said
(Amy and Cream turn to the beautiful sights of the ocean below.)
"Wow! The water looks amazing!" Amy said
"It's so beautiful..." Cream said
"It's amazing." True said
"It's almost like the Living Sea." Zee said
"Yeah! I wanna go swim! And go water-skiing too!" Amy said
"Let's all go sailing!" Cream said
"Yeah! I can't wait!" Chris said
"Hey, Chris." Tails said
"What's wrong?" Chris asked
"Check out the Chaos Emerald." Tails said
(The Chaos Emerald is seen glowing brightly.)
"Could it be another emerald?" Chris asked
(The X-Tornado starts shaking, causing Cumulo to float away a bit to avoid getting hit.)
"Whoa! Steady Cumulo!" True said
"Hey, what's going on?" Sonic asked
"The same thing happened when we were flying over Diamond Stadium. And that means..." Zee said
"Since we're flying over water, there must be a Chaos Emerald underwater." Cream said
"You're right, Cream." Amy said
"Then we have to go find it." Chris said
"Hang on, I see a landing spot. I'm gonna take us down." Tails said
(Scene Change: The coastal town)
(After landing the X-Tornado with Cumulo floating close by, the gang arrives at a coastal town.)
"Ahh... nice place here." (The gang sees several civilians turning their attention to them.) "Let's try to keep a low profile here, okay, guys?" Sonic asked
"Is it gonna be hard with how famous we are?" True asked
"Hey, aren't they Sonic and True?" a passer-by asked
"Yes, it is him." another passer-by said
"I wonder what they're doing here." a third passer-by said
"Let's get his autograph!" a fourth passer-by said
(Suddenly, a large crowd of the civilians all come rampaging and follow after the gang.)
"Stampede!" Chris said
"Is that bad?" True asked
"We better get out of here quick!" Sonic said
(Scene Change: The beach)
(The gang seemingly outran the civilians and stop at a beach, huffing and puffing from their sprint.)
"We can't escape crowds no matter where we go." Chris said
"Being famous isn't any fun. I just wish we can blend in with the crowd, but that seems impossible." Amy said
"We all stick out too much." Cream said
"It was a lot easier when we had to hide out at your house." Tails said
"None of this ever happens back in the Rainbow Kingdom." True said
"Yeah, we never had to deal with this kind of thing." Zee said
"Well, at least we lost that crowd for a little while." Chris said
"Yeah, why don't we all go for a swim while we have a chance?" Amy asked
"Hey, didn't Sonic run here with us? Where did he go?" Cream asked
"Maybe he decided to go look for that Chaos Emerald by himself." Zee said
(Chris and True are then seen wandering around the beach in search of Sonic.)
"Where can he be?" True asked
"Sonic! Where are you? Hey! Sonic! I wish he didn't always have to do things on his own." Chris said
"You two talking about me?" Sonic asked
"So there you are. I thought you'd be looking for the Chaos Emerald, not taking it easy." Chris said
"That Chaos Emerald is out there somewhere but I can't find it unless I can get to the bottom and stay there for a while." Sonic said
"Huh? Hmm... so the big problem is how to get you an air supply down there, right?" True asked
"Leave it to me!" Chris said
(Amy and Cream are seen swimming in the sea while Zee, Tails and Cheese rest by some rocks to catch the sun's rays. Chris then hands Sonic one end of a hose.)
"Our problem is solved. Now you can get to the emerald." Chris said
(Sonic sticks the end of the hose into his mouth.)
"I hope you're sticking the other end of this thing in a milkshake." Sonic said
"Isn't it a water hose?" True asked
"No, it's an air hose. I'll keep this end up here so you can breathe. Make sure you don't lose the hose or you'll be in trouble." Chris said
"Yeah, and out of air. Okay, I'll give it a shot." Sonic said
"Good luck, Sonic." True said
(Sonic jumps into the water and walks along the seabed while breathing through the hose. Back at the surface, the hose holder drops into the water as True and Chris panicked from it, causing it to be stuck behind some sea rocks that prevent Sonic from proceeding forwards. While Sonic tries to pull the hose holder out, a crab takes notice of this and lunges at Sonic, cutting the hose with its pincers. Sonic struggles for breath and the crab pinches his rear end as Sonic swims up to the surface. While Sonic reaches the surface, the crab pinches him again before falling back into the water. Chris then returns with a large bell.)
"Here, this will work. You can bring air with you. It's a diving bell. See?" Chris asked
"This is the most ding-a-ling thing I've ever heard of." Sonic said
"It's kinda big for him to use it underwater, ain't it?" True asked
(Sonic returns underwater carrying the bell with him.)
"It's hot in here, but it sure beats breathing through a hose. Only I can't see where in the water I'm going. I wish this thing had a window." (Sonic trips over a sea rock and the large bell traps him in.) "Oh great, I'm stuck! This diving bell is useless! I can't even ring it to get help!" Sonic said
(Sonic is somehow rescued back to the surface.)
"Any more bright ideas?" Sonic asked
"We can't give up yet. There's gotta be some way to reach that emerald." Chris said
(Chris strolls through the coastal town with True, Sonic and his friends.)
"If we're going to search underwater, the best way to go is to rent some scuba gear. You always need to use professional equipment, or else diving can be really dangerous." Chris said
"There's a shop for that?" True asked
(Sonic frowns at this. The gang then arrive at a diving shop to purchase the necessary equipment.)
"We'll need seven air tanks, plus flippers and three pairs of goggles." (hears a crashing sound and sees True having trouble seeing through a pair of goggles she put on.) "Better make one of those goggles clear enough for her to see through. I should have enough money with me to pay for all the diving equipment and the boat. How much will that all cost, sir?" Chris asked
"Forget it. You don't owe me a dime." the Diving Shop Manager said
"Huh?" Chris asked
"The government sent a notice to all shop owners that it'll cover your bills as part of its "Sonic budget". Is there anything else I can get for you guys?" the Diving Shop Manager asked
"Um..." Chris stuttered
"It might help if you told me what you are diving for." the Diving Shop Manager said
"We're going to see... Erhm, wow, this awesome ship model is exactly like the one on that painting, right?" Chris asked
"Oh yeah, they're the same. You see, this ship was lost at sea a long time ago, and there's a legend that it sank near here with a huge load of gold. Folks here think the legend's true." the Diving Shop Manager said
(Chris and the others leave the diving shop.)
"Thanks. Let's go get the boat, guys." Chris said
"Take care, and have fun! I hope they find what they're looking for." the Diving Shop Manager said
(Out at sea, True, Sonic and the others prepare themselves to dive.)
"Don't worry, Sonic. We'll be with you in case you get into trouble." Amy said
"That's right." Chris said
"But we know you'll do great down there." Tails said
"We're in this together." Zee said
"Remember to take long deep breaths and you'll be okay." True said
"Right." Sonic said
"Then let's go." Chris said
(Chris dives into the water first.)
"You all set, Sonic?" Amy asked
"Yep, let's dive!" Sonic said
(True, Zee, Sonic, Tails, Amy and Cream dive and follow Chris. The scene changes to another part of the ocean where the Egg Fort surfaces.)
"All right you three, get to work!" Dr. Eggman said
"And on the double!" Rainbow King said
"Underwater repairs are the worst." Decoe said
"My circuits get soaked." Bocoe said
"Don't forget rusted, like my hand right now." General Rainbow said
"Now it's time for SSTV Sonic and True News Update. After defeating Doctor Eggman and Rainbow King, Sonic, True and their friends are taking a much deserved holiday." a News Anchor said
"Holiday!? They get a holiday!?" Rainbow King asked in anger
"But Sonic is a goofball! We work harder than he does!" Bocoe shouted
"We have never had a day off since we were activated. This is unfair!" Decoe shouted
"Robots need vacations too!" General Rainbow shouted
(Grunts) "I'll make them pay!" Dr. Eggman shouted
(Scene Change: The ocean)
(The five divers swim near the ocean floor. Tails, holding the Chaos Emerald, leads the way)
"The Chaos Emerald's getting brighter. We must be getting closer!" Tails said
"Hey, look!" Zee said
(They stop swimming when they see something)
"Whoa!" True said
(They find that they have arrived at the wreckage of a ship)
"That must be the ship the guy in the diving shop told me about." Chris said
"It looks like that's where we'll find the Chaos Emerald, too." Tails said
"Then what are we waitin' for? Let's go check it out." Sonic said
(They proceed towards the wreckage)
(Scene Change: The surface)
(Bokkun is flying through the skies. He spots the abandoned boat)
"Ha! Gotcha!" Bokkun said
(But at a closer inspection, he finds that neither Sonic, True or their friends are there)
"Huh?" Bokkun asked
(The boat's only occupant is Cheese, who is asleep)
"Aw, it's only that squirt, Cheese. Sonic and True aren't on the boat, but they're supposed to be. Ah... Where could they be?" Bokkun asked
(Scene Change: The Egg Fort)
(Eggman and Rainbow King are reclining in some deck chairs on the Egg Fort's deck. Decoe is holding an umbrella over them, and Bocoe is fanning them, while General is in a meditation position behind them)
"Heheh! While we're waiting to catch Sonic and True, we'll catch a few rays, too!" Dr. Eggman said
"I never knew this kind of thing gets to you at times." Rainbow King said
(Bokkun arrives)
"Love the bathing suit, Doc! Did you get that in prison?" Bokkun asked
"Well, Bokkun. I bet Sonic and True are feeling really blue after you gave them that message for me, weren't they?" Dr. Eggman asked
"Well..." Bokkun started
(Bokkun pulls out his TV and plays the message)
"Having a nice vacation, Sonic and True? I hope you aren't. I hope you forget to use sunscreen and get burnt!" the video of Eggman on the TV said
"That's the message you made, right." Rainbow King asked
"Wait. This message was supposed to self-destruct after you played it for Sonic and True! ...Unless you never played it for them. You did play it for them, Bokkun, didn't you?" Dr. Eggman asked
"I tried to, Doc, but nobody was on the boat except for that little Cheese ball! I'm pretty sure all the others went diving." Bokkun said
"And now, here's a little souvenir to remember your vacation by!" the video of Eggman on the TV said
(The TV Eggman laughs)
"You fool! Get rid of that thing!" General Rainbow shouted
"It is too late." Decoe said
(The TV explodes, covering Eggman, Rainbow King, General Rainbow, Bocoe and Decoe in soot)
"You won't wreck my plans again, fools!" (Points) "I'll wreck you! Prepare to submerge! We'll bury them at sea!" Dr. Eggman shouted
(Scene Change: The shipwreck)
(The divers have stumbled across the treasure)
"Wow..." Zee said
"So the legend was true..." Chris said
"It's amazing!" Cream said
"Think of how much jewelry you could make with all this gold!" Amy said
"This is glowing at full brightness now. I bet the new Chaos Emerald is buried somewhere under all this gold. We'll have to dig through the treasure to find it." Tails said
"Right. But that could take us forever!" Chris said
(The crab Sonic saw earlier appears, holding the blue Chaos Emerald)
"What's that?!" Chris asked in panic
"Oh, no way!" Sonic said
"He's got the Chaos Emerald!" Chris said
"You think he'll give it to us?" True asked
(Sonic approaches the crab, startling it)
"Hold it right there! We need that Chaos Emerald. Drop it or I'll give you something to be crabby about." Sonic said
(The crab tosses the Chaos Emerald to Amy and flees)
"This vacation turned out to be very rewarding." Amy said
"We're one emerald closer to going home!" Cream said
(Off-screen) "Your vacation is over, fools!" Dr. Eggman said
(Everyone turns to see the Egg Fort descending towards them)
(Laughs) "They're going to wish they never saw the sea! Clurken, put the sting on that hedgehog first!" Dr. Eggman said
(The robot called E-57 Clurken approaches)
"You guys get back to the boat. I can handle Eggman and this robot myself." Sonic said
"All right. But be careful, Sonic. Come on, guys!" Chris said
(Everyone but Sonic swims for the surface. Clurken attempts to crush Sonic with one of its tentacles, but Sonic dodges. He tries to run, but only succeeds in kicking up a dust cloud as he also goes up. Clurken slams all its tentacles into the ground, causing the ground to break and send Sonic flying)
"Running underwater is really a drag! It's impossible to move fast here!" Sonic said
(Scene Change: The Egg Fort)
"He should have known that water makes the perfect speed trap!" Dr. Eggman said
"It certainly is a weakness of his." Rainbow King said
(Scene Change: The ocean)
(Clurken's tentacles fire missiles. The force of the explosions send Sonic towards the surface)
(Scene Change: The Egg Fort)
(Eggman laughs)
"This time, he's all washed up!" Dr. Eggman said
(Scene Change: The surface)
(Chris, True, Zee, Tails, and Amy are on the boat. Chris and True help Cream onto the boat)
"Is everybody okay?" Chris asked
"Of course we are!" Tails said
(Off-screen) "Ahoy! Ahoy, Master Chris!" Mr. Tanaka shouted
(Tanaka appears in a larger boat)
"I came to rescue you!" Mr. Tanaka said
"Mister Tanaka?" True asked
"We do not have much time. All of you, get aboard, quickly!" Mr. Tanaka said
"Hold on! What are you doing here?" Chris asked
"I promised your grandfather I'd keep you out of trouble, and so I followed you all here. I saw you needed help, and came faster that you can say 'Dinner is served.'" Mr. Tanaka said
(Chris' mouth hangs open. Meanwhile, Sonic dodges another tentacle attack, but takes hold of it and allows Clurken to throw him to the surface. Clurken surfaces itself and uses all its tentacles to lift Sonic and toss him repeatedly into the air)
"Hey! Get your tentacles off of me! Hey! Cut it out!" Sonic shouted
"Put him down!" Chris shouted
(Just then, Sam Speed arrives on a jet ski)
"Hahahaha! Uncle Sam to the rescue!" Sam shouted
"Uncle Sam!" Chris said
"I heard you might be in a jam, so I sped right over!" Sam said
(He picks up a handle used for water skiing)
"Grab this and you can ski your way free!" Sam shouted
(He tosses the handle to Sonic, who catches it. He takes off. Clurken fires more missiles at Sonic, but they miss.)
"Come on! You can do better than that, Eggman!" Sonic said
(Off-screen) "Hey, Sonic!" Tails shouted
(Sonic looks up to see Tails flying above him)
"A ring! Here, catch!" Tails shouted
(Tails tosses a Power Ring to Sonic, who catches it. To Sam's surprise, Sonic does a spin-dash, U-turns in midair, and barrels through Clurken, causing it to explode brilliantly.)
"All right!" Chris said
(Sam gives Sonic a thumbs-up, who returns it with a wink)
"Thanks, Sam." Sonic said
(But as they thought it was over, missiles began coming from the Egg Fort, causing Sonic to spin dash around them until he noticed he's heading towards the sea, but when he was about to splash in it, he bounced on it a bit, wondering what happened, until the sea below him began to rise which startled Sonic as everyone else were shocked from what their seeing until the sea stopped 10 feet higher than Tanaka's boat as a face appeared on it, towards the Egg Fort.)
"Whoa! What is that!?" Sam asked in shock
"That's never happened before!" Tails shouted
"It's almost like it's from another world!" Chris shouted
"It's the Living Sea!" True shouted
"The Living Sea!?" Amy asked in shock
(Scene Change: Egg Fort)
"Oh my! It's the Living Sea!" Rainbow King said in panic
"The Living Sea!?" Dr. Eggman, General Rainbow, Decoe and Bocoe asked in shock
(Scene Change: The surface)
"You have disgraced your kingdom." (makes a wave in the sea under the Egg Fort for some water tentacles to rise up and grab onto the Egg Fort causing the villains inside to hang on in fright.) "You don't deserve to be the leader of the Rainbow Kingdom." The Living Sea said (swings the Egg Fort around a bit and then flings it into the distance with the villains screaming.)
"I may not like water, but this one is okay with me." Sonic said
(Scene Change: The dive shop)
"Whoa! I can't believe it! The legend of the sunken ship is true?" the Diving Shop Manager asked
"Yeah. But Eggman's robot came after us and wrecked the wreck. Whatever's left of that ship and the treasure gut buried on the sea bottom." Chris said
"Ah, I see... But the ship really did exist. You saw it." the Diving Shop Manager said
(Nods) "Yeah." Chris said
(The Diving Shop Manager looks at the painting behind him.)
"I tried to find that ship for years. Thanks to you, I finally have proof that it was real." the Diving Shop Manager said
(Scene Change: Tanaka's boat)
(It is now sunset)
(To Tails) "Then the guy at the diving shop told me the most amazing story of all. Turns out, his great-grandfather was the captain of that sunken ship we found." Chris said
"Whoa, cool!" Tails said
"I'm sure glad we came here." Cream said
"Chao-chao!" Cheese said
"And now that Dr. Eggman's gone, we can enjoy our vacation." Amy said
"It's a good thing the Living Sea got caught in the chaos control back at the Rainbow Kingdom." Zee said
"If it hadn't, things would've been bad." True said
(Scene Change: The Egg Fort)
"Dr. Eggman and Rainbow King struck again today with a new robot, but was quickly defeated by Sonic the Hedgehog with the help of what looks like a sentient sea. Sonic went on to continue his vacation-" the News Reporter didn't get to say
(Rainbow King turns off the TV and growls.)
"I can't believe the Living Sea was caught in chaos control!" Rainbow King shouted (groans, holding his left hand in pain.)
"Are you alright, your majesty?" General Rainbow asked
"I'm fine. Rest while you can, True. You're going to need it." Rainbow King
