Hinata: Byakurenden

The Sage of the Desert

Shukaku, the sand demon and one of the nine tailed beasts, was coming for them.

Or rather, it was coming for Hinata. That was what Kankuro seemed to believe, anyways. However, she had no idea why this would be the case, for she and the beast had never even so much as interacted. At least, not directly.

It was true, she fought and defeated his Jinchuriki host in the previous Chunin Exams, but it surely wasn't possible the demon Tanuki held a grudge against her for that, was it?

There was no time to think about it, for the beast was nearly upon them. The very desert rolled like tidal waves, kicking up a cloud of dust and obscuring what little light there was in the dead of night. The campfire they had set-up went out and the four of them could only gaze upwards into the pitch darkness. Even though they couldn't see, they could feel the gaze of something lumbering as it lurked over them.

For several moments, none of them dared to move. They had no idea what might set off the Tailed Beast, let alone what its purpose for coming out to greet them even was. It was Shukaku that made the first move, flaring his nostrils and setting off a jet-stream nearly powerful enough to bowl them all over.

Then there was a blue light, some kind of seal on his body illuminating just enough to provide visibility. These lights also served as an effective show of intimidation, although it was unclear if that was an intended or not side-effect. The blue seal around Shukaku's chubby face was the last bit to light up, followed by a dim yellow glow from his eyes.

He glowered over the four of them, sizing up each person individually. His gaze swiped over Kankuro almost without care, but he rested for a while on both Naruto and Sasuke, before finally settling on Hinata.

"We've been expecting you." Shukaku said, his voice booming in a shrill pitch that caused all of them to jump. "Things in this world have gone awry these past couple years, and it's up to y'all to fix it."

"Y-You've been waiting for us?" Hinata stuttered out, still trying to figure out what was going on. Why would a Tailed Beast be waiting for them… and just how much about the state of the world did it know about?

"Indeed." Shukaku said, bending down and tilting one of its golden eyes to glare at her directly. "You three are the reincarnations of Asura, Indra, and Kali, are you not? We can see it… ever since that fight you had with us. You scrambled up our seal good and well with that attack of yours, missy!"

"I'm sorry-" Hinata apologized out of reflex, beginning to bow as she did so. However, she caught herself part way as the realization of his words settled in her mind. "…I messed up the seal? How?" She asked gingerly, almost afraid of the answer she was about to get.

"…" Shukaku was quiet for several long minutes. It seemed to be contemplating how best to answer. This contemplative silence didn't sit well with another, however.

"You're not Shukaku, are you?" It was Naruto's body that spoke, but it wasn't his voice that came out. No, this one was much deeper and gruff. As Hinata glanced at him, she saw his eyes were deep red, the pupils slitted. This was Kurama, the demon fox, using Natuto's body as a vessel to communicate.

"As expected of the Sand Demon's brother… you've noticed." Shukaku answered with a sigh. The sand began to melt away, having not been the tailed beast at all, but simply a jutsu created to give itself the appearance of it. Stepping out from the mound of now shapeless sand was Gaara… only it wasn't quite Gaara.

His hair was a sandy brown now, like it was of the desert itself, no longer the deep red. And his eyes were the same golden yellow that the avatar of Shukaku had been. However, most interesting to Hinata was the tattoo of the character "love" on his forehead. That was now glowing the same light blue as the seals that once covered his body.

"Wait, what the hell is this!?" Kankuro stepped forward, the most confused of them all now. "Are you trying to tell me you aren't Gaara? Then who the hell are you!?" He reached for the puppets on his back, only then remembering he no longer had them.

"We're sorry." The person that looked like Gaara responded, his voice not that of Gaara, but also not Shukaku. "To be honest, the answer is not a simple yes or no. We are Gaara… and we are Shukaku, but we are also not."

"That kind of ambiguous talk is just like how the old man used to be." Kurama growled, glaring at the boy as if his words had somehow offended him.

"We suppose that is also to be expected." Not-Gaara nodded in acknowledgment. "For when the young missy struck our seal, she caused a kind of chain reaction. The consciousness of Shukaku, and all his previous Jinchuriki hosts, including the old Sage of the Six Paths merged into one being… and the thing that emerged from that merger was us."

"How did I…?" Hinata felt her words trail off and die. She remembered now that she had hit Gaara's seal right at the moment that Shukaku's consciousness was beginning to come out with a Jyuken strike. And not just any Jyuken, but one enhanced with Kali's special chakra.

"It would seem the timing of your strike, with the special chakra of a reincarnated being, was the trigger." He verified her thoughts just as they had formed. "At least, that is our theory, at present."

"So what?" Kankuro seethed, his eyes flashing dangerously as he took another couple steps forward. Only Sasuke's arm barring his path stopped him from stomping right up to the mysterious being that now confronted them. "You're telling me my brother is dead!?" He asked.

"Not dead, no." Was the quick and considerate answer. "Gaara still lives inside of this consciousness, as do the others. Simply as one being now, a kind of congregation of minds."

"I don't buy it." Kurama spat. "You're saying the old man got swallowed whole too? That doesn't even make sense. He couldn't possibly have been eaten by the likes of you lot."

"Do not misunderstand me lad." The boy shook his head. "It was not the actual consciousnesses of the other Jinchuriki hosts that were swallowed. It was the parts of them that existed inside Shukaku. Think of them as partial fragments of their souls. Surely you still have fragments of your past hosts still inside you, do you not?"

At that question, Kurama grew silent. It would seem either it had struck a nerve, or had been accurate in a way that unsettled the fox spirit. However, Kankuro was not to be deterred.

"So you've been lying to us this whole time?" He yelled. "You've been acting scared and frightened of everything, but you're actually some kinda prophet now?! Then why the hell didn't you help us?"

"We were not in possession of the faculties to assist before now." The boy turned to Kankuro and bowed, "And for that, we are deeply sorry. Our very being was in disarray. The fear was not an act, but a broken mind trying to put itself back together. We simply lacked the necessary pieces of the puzzle to do so. However, when we sensed the three of them step onto this sand," He stood up and gestured at Hinata, Naruto, and Sasuke. "Then everything became clear to us."

"This is all well and good, but we're not actually getting anywhere with this information." Sasuke said, making his voice known for the first time since the intruder's appearance. "What is your purpose? You're saying you've come to assist us, is that it? We don't even know what to call you, let alone if we can trust you."

"Call us as you please, the only unified identity we can claim for ourselves is the Sabaku no Sennin- a Sage of the Desert." He said. "As for our intentions, we have come to tell you to turn back. Leave the matters of this desert to us. The people here have been driven from their home by a servant of the malignant Sun Goddess. Your mission is to deal with her, while our desire is to return their home to them."

"And why would you do that, oh Sage of the Desert?" Kankuro asked, rolling his eyes as he recited the name the boy had given himself.

"This desert is like our very body." The Sage replied. "And all those who would call it home are like our children. We cannot abandon them, but we cannot trust it to the hands of outsiders either." The sincerity in his piercing yellow eyes seemed to give Kankuro pause. A moment later, he clicked his teeth and averted his gaze, glaring down at the sand in what looked like disgust.

"Even if we believe that," Sasuke interjected. "What makes you think we can just turn around? We're ninja and we were hired by the people of this desert to do a mission. You claim the people of the desert are your children? It sounds to me like you don't know the first thing about your people or what they want."

"The Uchiha brat is right." Kurama agreed. "I was never a fan of that Tanuki bastard, but whatever you are now is far worse-" His voice cut off and it looked like there was brief internal conflict, almost like he was choking on his own words. A moment later and the red eyes disappeared, replaced by Naruto's natural blue.

"Sorry to interrupt," Naruto laughed awkwardly, lifting a hand and placing it behind his head. "But I actually have a question for Sen, myself." It would seem he had already taken to calling him by a shortened version of his title.

"By all means…" Sen, as he was now being called, nodded in acknowledgment. The whole time, Hinata was trying to pin his emotions down, but she couldn't actually figure him out. He seemed simultaneously bemused and grumpy, but perhaps that was a side-effect that came with existing as several merged consciousnesses.

"Look, I get what you're saying, that Amaterasu chick is bad news and she's something we should be dealing with." Naruto seemed to be trying to appeal to Sen's logic, whatever it was that even meant. "However, this Sasori bastard is one of her subordinates. Taking care of him weakens her. So it's really beneficial for all parties here if we just work together and help one another out, don't you think?"

"...It's not that we disagree with the logic." Sen nodded slowly, but it was obvious he was far from convinced. "The moment we came into being, we could somehow sense it was our destiny to help the people of this land. Allowing us to do that with our own power, whilst you deal with the other threats would be the most efficient means of dealing with the unbalanced state of the world."

"Maybe, but you're forgetting something else." Naruto smiled almost sadly at him. "I never really knew Gaara, nor did I know Shukaku or any of the others, so I don't really even know you. That's why you should let us help you out, so we can learn to trust one another."

"I also think you should give us a chance." Hinata piped up quickly. If she was being honest, however, it was because she felt responsible for his current state. Even if it hadn't been her intention, she led to the creation of this being as he currently existed.

"I don't even see the point of this." Kankuro said, repressing every urge he had to shout. "You may not have known Gaara or Shukaku, but I did. They were murderous psychopaths. Maybe the other parts are balancing him out for now, but this guy is a danger to us all. We can't trust him. He's not the one that should be telling you guys to go, it's the other way around."

"Your words intrigue us…" The Sage noted at Naruto, while ignoring Kankuro "However, we are afraid that we must insist. The reincarnations of Asura, Indra, and Kali were left lands of the forest, but the sand is our domain. We shall be the one to reclaim it."

"…This is getting us nowhere." Sasuke said with a sigh. "If you want us to back off, you'll need to make us." He reached up with his right hand, unbuttoning the cloak he wore and letting it fall away to reveal the robotic arm on his left. As the wind blew, they also got a glimpse of his Rinnegan eye. "If you can, that is. Show me your power, if you really are a Sage of the Desert."

"That seems quite backwards to us." Sen said with a tilt of the head. "Our battle is not with you, but with-"

"Shinra Tensei!" There was no chance to finish the sentence, a wall of gravity slamming into the boy in Gaara's body and sending him flying backwards, along with the dune of sand he had been standing on. Sasuke hadn't done anything other than lift his left palm up, extending it outwards. That and activate one of the hidden abilities located in his left eye.

"…Should we stop him?" Hinata asked, glancing between where Sasuke stood and the place Sen had been.

"Nah, no need for that." Naruto said with a shrug. "Now that I think about it, this is your first time seeing Sasuke go at it too, right? You should pay attention. He's just as strong as we are, y'know." Now that Naruto mentioned it, Hinata couldn't help but be curious about Sasuke's power. He had the Rinnegan belonging to the Sage of the Six Paths now, after all. And had been given two years to learn to harness it.

It wasn't just the Rinnegan, however. Sasuke's right eye glowed a crimson red, the three Tomoe of his Sharingan spinning dangerously. He had never achieved the Mangekyo in that eye, but that was all for the better. The last thing they needed was another god trying to manipulate their way into this world.

Even without it, his power couldn't be underestimated. His left arm was made of metal, having been created using one of the six paths made available to him with the Rinnegan. The other path had been what he did just now to blast Sen away. And he still had four more paths available to him with which to use.

From within the settling sand, there was a hoarse cough, Sen stumbling his way back into visibility. "Once again, we really must question the necessity of this-" He failed to finish his sentence yet again, Sasuke teleporting behind him. Left in the place he had just been standing were particles of sand, Sasuke having swapped positions in space-time with them to achieve his instantaneous movement.

He grabbed the back of Sen's head with his right hand and started to push him down. As he did, the absolute defense that had been Gaara's main ability sprang into action. It wrapped around Sasuke's arms, legs, and torso. In only a matter of seconds it would begin to squeeze, and Sasuke's body would be crushed under the pressure of the sand itself.

At least, that was what should have happened. Sasuke flexed one of his fingers on his left hand, activating one of the numerous mechanical functions that he had years to learn and hone. His entire arm discharged a pulse of blue electricity that rendered the sand immobile. And with his absolute defense disabled, there was nothing to protect Sen as Sasuke slammed his face into the ground.

"You about ready to take this seriously yet?" Sasuke asked, lifting Sen's face from the sand and holding it up.

"…Are you?" Sen asked between coughs for air. The meaning of his question wasn't immediately clear. Several moments later, the remaining sand settled and revealed several floating orbs of compressed sand. They hummed softly with energy, the only warning Sasuke received before they detonated like triggered mines, covering the two combatants in fire and smoke.

A streak of black burst out from the multiple explosions, the smoke giving way to reveal Sasuke, who had jumped out of the way at the last physical possible second. With a flip, he landed on the sand and skid to a halt, digging his metal fingers into the earth to slow his momentum.

"We still do not understand the point of this…" With a wave of his hand, Sen condensed all the floating sand that previously concealed him, creating a half dozen compact orbs. "However, if it is a fight you desire, then we shall not hold back."

The orbs continued to absorb more sand, yet their size didn't increase at all. In fact, they seemed to only be getting smaller and smaller- no, worse than that: denser. Hinata didn't even need to activate the Nichiren Byakugan to understand what the strange boy was doing.

He was creating Gudodama. No- not true Gudodama, but a kind of cheap bastardization of the truth-seeking orbs. Even if they were mere imitations, these orbs weren't to be underestimated, their density growing to such intensity that it felt like the air around them was beginning to distort, like they were affecting reality itself.

"Interesting…" Sasuke didn't appear deterred at all, instead smirking as if things had just finally started to get good. He flexed one of his fingers and a small latch popped open at the base of his metal arm, near his shoulder. Exactly where the curse seal Orochimaru placed on him had once been.

The purpose of the latch wasn't immediately clear, but something around Sasuke also began to change. Flame-like marks spread across his body, the biggest such mark appearing as a kind of shuriken pattern around his nose. It was the first time Hinata had seen these marks on Sasuke, but she recognized them immediately.

It was the same as what Tayuya and the other members of Orochimaru's personal guard had once done, utilizing the power of the curse mark to absorb natural energy, turning it into a corruption that gave them immense strength. However, Sasuke no longer had the curse mark.

What he did have was the Rinnegan, as well as Indra's spirit to guide him. Hinata could utilize the still spirit of Kali to absorb and maintain natural energy, but Naruto and Sasuke's reincarnations were different. They couldn't aid their hosts directly, but that didn't mean they weren't without their resources.

Naruto had Kurama to sit inside his seal and gather natural energy for him. And it would appear Sasuke was using the mechanism of his left arm, mimicking the sensation from Orochimaru's curse seal. There was no mistaking it.

This was his Sage Mode.

Both combatants had risen the stakes, and the next round of their battle was about to begin. "Shrina Tensei!" Sasuke didn't waste any time, throwing another wall of gravity at Sen. This time his attack had no effect, the pseudo Gudodama moving between their caster and the jutsu. Their incredible density immediately canceled out Sasuke's attack and Sen was utterly unharmed. An absolute defense completely unlike what he had when Hinata fought him those years ago.

One of the six orbs quivered, spitting a torrent of sand bullets at such speed, they left streaks of light in their wake. Dodging such a volley should have been impossible, the only warning having been that slight quiver. The volume of bullets and speed at which they were expelled was beyond the sense of logic. It was as if a black hole had spit at him, releasing the contents that had once fallen into it.

Yet the moment that orb had quivered and Sasuke was no longer in that spot. In fact, one of the other orbs was there now, most of the bullets missing it completely, but what pellets of sand did hit their mark got absorbed. Meanwhile, Sasuke was standing in the place of the orb that he had swapped with.

"Chidori Eiso!" Sasuke's left hand flipped open, revealing a cannon located at the base of his wrist. A spear of lightning fired from the barrel, but once again, one of the orbs got in the way. The lightning bent and began to curl around the orb, like water being sucked down a drain, it disappeared into the absolute defense.

At the same time as this happened, another orb flew at Sasuke from the right. He raised his free hand. "Bansho Tenin!" This time instead of repulsion, he used the power of attraction. It seemed to pay off, the orb reacting strangely to the pull, the two forces pushing on each other like magnets with the same poles.

Sasuke didn't fight the force, instead using it as a springboard to launch himself backwards and into safety. He landed several meters away, feet skidding into the soft sand. Sen turned to face him, but didn't otherwise move to give chase. Instead, the six orbs floated back around him, taking up their defensive position once again.

It was the exact same way Gaara fought, only the scale of his defense was completely different now. The orbs could absorb anything, even gravity itself. And the sand that had created them was packed together so densely that the very act of trying to uncompress them turned the matter inside into a kind-of railgun.

"Is this not enough to satisfy you?" Sen asked, looking at Sasuke as if he had grown bored of the whole affair. "Even with the Rinnegan, the eye that belonged to the Sage of the Six Paths, you are incapable of breaking through the Sadodama. This is the ultimate barrier created by the knowledge of all those comprising our being."

"Heh," Sasuke scoffed, not the least bit deterred by Sen or his absolute defense. "You're not the only one that's been developing new techniques." His index finger popped open now, revealing another barrel. Instead of a streak of lightning or a missile, this time it was a small black ball, not entirely unlike the Sadodama.

"Chibaku Tensei!" Sasuke said the name so casually, that Hinata failed to understand the terror of the technique at first.

"Oi, Sasuke! Are you serious!?" Naruto called out in a sudden panic, his shout startling her. It wasn't just him, even Sen's expression turning cold. Almost like he was debating about turning the other way and sprinting as far away as he could, abandoning even his natural defense. She didn't have to wait long to understand why.

The small orb began sucking up everything around it, lifting not just the sand, but even the trees from the forest just behind them. "Shit!" Naruto cursed, a wave of red chakra erupting off of him and covering the three observers, along with their forgotten campsite in a dome. His chakra and Sasuke's position were the only areas not affected. The Sadodama had crowded around Sen, shielding him from the gravitational well that was growing larger and larger in size as it rose into the air.

"You Leaf Shinobi are mental!" Kankuro yelled, glancing between Naruto and where the battle was taking place. Being inside a bubble of the Nine-tails chakra clearly disturbed him, but he had the wherewithal to remain where he was, otherwise throwing himself to the mercy of the gravitational well.

"Chidori Eiso!" Sasuke's wrist flipped open and he fired another burst of electricity straight at Sen and his Sadodama. However, it didn't even get close, instead being carried up and absorbed into his own technique. However, Sasuke didn't let up on the technique, instead allowing more and more of his lightning to be absorbed by the Chibaku Tensei, along with all the trees and sand.

"Are you crazy!?" Sen unfolded his arms and took a step forward, the first movement he had made since the fight began. Yet he couldn't go far now, the only thing keeping him from flying into the sky were his Sadodama. And he didn't dare release any of the stored up ammunition for fear of making them lose their density, and thus their ability to protect him from the Chibaku Tensei.

"I'm perfectly sane." Sasuke said, his ravenous smile contradicting him. Just how far did he intend to go with this fight? If they all teamed up, there surely wasn't a need to unleash a technique of this magnitude? Hinata couldn't understand what he was thinking at all.

There was no stopping this anymore either. Not without escalating things further. So all she could was believe that he had some kind of plan. Naruto seemed to trust in him, so she would have to put her faith in that.

The stream of lightning continued to feed into the floating mass that had formed above them, the object looking more and more like a miniature moon. With all the blue lightning it had consumed now, it was even giving off its own light that covered the whole air, putting them into a pseudo-daytime.

Then the object began to change shape. The lightning was shifting, moving the pieces of sand, rock, and trees, forming a kind of face. It looked like some kind of angry deity, an angry god of thunder coming to smite them.

"Raibaku Tensei!" Sasuke called the name of this new technique. He threw his arm down, the stream of lightning still coming from his open wrist pulling taut and yanking the massive orb down with it.

Sen furrowed his brow, but even still he didn't back down. Instead he stared at the incoming attack head on. The Sadodama raced skywards, leaving his side to intercept the Raibaku Tensei before it got too close. The six dense orbs of sand crashed with the giant orb of gravity and lightning. The force of their impact caused light to bend and for a moment, Hinata wondered if reality itself might end up distorted.

There was a rupture, but unlike anything any of them had ever seen. It was an explosion, but not one that echoed outwards, but instead one that collapsed in on itself. The two attacks seemed to get sucked into one another, All light and sound were completely absorbed. Then with a small pop, the powerful forces that defied nature itself snapped out of existence.

"Wha-" Sen started to question what it was they had witnessed, but the sound of a thousand birds at his throat cut him off. While what had just happened was beyond the scope of what even Sasuke had expected, he didn't allow his surprise to cost him the element of surprise.

"You get it now, Sage of the Desert?" He asked, voice dripping with self-assurance. "This is the power of only one of us reincarnations. Your power might even be equal to mine… but against all three of us and your existence will end up like whatever just happened to our techniques. So you can stand against us, or accept our help already."

"…We see." Sen's gaze met Sasuke's eyes before, sweeping over to where Naruto and Hinata stood. His clear yellow eyes looked… disappointed. Not disappointment directed at them, but more inwards. Like he was cursing himself for being so weak, or perhaps naive. "It would seem we have no choice then." He relented, and only then did the sound of chirping birds disappear.

Sasuke lowered his metallic hand, and the Chidori fizzled into nothing. He didn't say anything more, simply smirking in self-satisfaction as he turned and strolled over to his previously discarded cloak.

"I don't even understand what's going on anymore." Kankuro rubbed his temples, but it didn't look like he had the energy left to be angry. "But I'm not gonna argue with it, if it's going to lead to another fight like that. You guys are seriously terrifying."

The only part of the area that hadn't been disrupted by their battle was the small campsite they had set up, only thanks to Naruto's quick thinking the moment Sasuke had unleashed his final technique. The two of them turned back into their tent, apparently considering the matter with Sen settled for the night. Kankuro, meanwhile, restarted their fire, squatting down in front of it with his back deliberating to the person that had the appearance of his younger brother.

Sen, for his part, remained exactly where he was, unmoving from the position in which he had been bested. Hinata hesitated for several seconds, before finally starting towards him. She came to stand by his side, following his gaze upwards, finding herself lost in the myriad of stars visible in the vast sky without any trees of the forest to conceal them.

"You do not have to feel responsibility for our existence." Sen spoke softly, misunderstanding Hinata's intentions. "Your attack may have been the trigger that caused our merging of personalities, but that was not something anyone could predict."

"…I know." Hinata responded, matching his tone. Her words seemed to surprise him, and if she was being honest, even herself. She thought she might have felt bad about turning him into… whatever he was, but she was relieved to find that wasn't the case at all. "Why did you try to drive us away?" She asked.

"Honestly, that's something we're also trying to figure out." Sen admitted, before letting out a humorless exhale. He turned his gaze downwards, staring at the shifting sand at their feet. "We thought it was a kind of nascent desire, a foolish impulse to prove ourselves, who have just been born. After that fight, however, we are starting to suspect that we are terrified of you three."

"I guess that makes sense to me." Hinata glanced around at the damage their fight caused and immediately understood why anyone would be weary of them and the power they wielded. If they fought seriously, the desert that was his home would be unrecognizable. She just hoped Sasori hadn't gotten strong enough to force them to unleash that kind of power.

"Tell us, White Lotus." Sen shifted his gaze over at her now. "Why are you three here? Sasori of the Red Sand is merely a pawn of the Sun Goddess. You should leave him to us, while you take the fight to her directly. You cannot mean to tell us you have yet to ascertain her location?"

"…You're right." Hinata found herself agreeing with him, although the tone in her voice was bitter. "I guess the thing is, I'm scared too." She knew at the end of the line, her fight was with Amaterasu. It would be easy to figure out where she was too. However, she also had a pretty good idea of how that rematch ended. So, at least before then, she wanted to make sure there were no regrets.

"That is a comforting notion." Sen admitted. "To know that we are not the only ones scared of all this. It feels like from the moment we awoke, destiny was calling us forward… and that is truly frightening. To know that even one such as yourself feels it. We are grateful for it." Once again, he returned his gaze to the stars, where Hinata had never stopped staring.

"Everyone fears their destiny." Hinata wondered when she had started to sound like Kali, but she knew without a doubt that was something she would have said. Yet she also couldn't help but feel guilty. For while her words were true, they weren't entirely honest.

"So what is it you desire, White Lotus?" The Sage asked her. While it was true she didn't feel responsible for his creation as was, it was also true he wouldn't be this way if not for the battle they had in the Chunin Exams. It was almost like it had been part of her destiny to turn Gaara into whatever he was now, sage or otherwise. Yet if he was feeling the weight of that, was it not up to her to try and help him saddle that burden, even if just a little?

"I just want to help you." She answered, finally feeling like the details of this mission were beginning to make sense to her. This mission wasn't just to deal with a servant of Amaterasu anymore. It was one to help this Sage of the Desert find his destiny. And by doing that…

Maybe she could help herself find closure on just one more thing before the end.

Chapter End

AN: Quite a few translation notes this chapter.

Gaara's new title is Sabaku no Sennin (砂漠の仙人)or literally, sage of the desert. Naruto just called him Sen for short, and I'm using that instead of typing out his full title every time. He had a technique called Sadodama (砂道玉)which is literally "Sand", "Path", and "Ball", a kinda variant of the Gudodama that the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki used in Canon, just dressed up as an absolute defense to stay kinda in-line with Gaara and Shukaku's style.

Finally, Sasuke's Raibaku Tensei (雷爆天星)Ligntning Explosion Heavenly Star, would be the translation. It's kind of meant to take the place of Sasuke's Kirin technique from Canon, just merged with the Chibaku Tensei.
