"Goodbye Donna," he says, and her heart breaks. She wants to respond, to stop him, to hold him tight and never let go again, but she can't. Asking for one last hug feels like a right she no longer has, so she lets him leave.

"Goodbye Harvey," she whispers as he closes the door behind him.

"Hey, Donna," Ian says as he steps into her bedroom while she's packing.

"Hey," she smiles.

"Starting tomorrow, you'll have your room back and your peace. Your annoying older sister will be gone," she says, smiling, and he smiles too.

"It's about time; I'm used to being alone," he jokes. They have always shared a unique bond. Of course, they're siblings, but theirs is different. After their parents' death, they only had each other. They were so young. She had just turned 17, and he was only 13. They lived with their grandparents, who loved them, but nothing was the same anymore. They were always close, but that tragedy deepened their bond even further.

"I know I'm repeating myself, but… are you really sure, Donna?"

"Ian, please…"

"Donna… you wanted to go back to him because of the baby, not because you loved him."

"I do love him," she protests.

"More than Harvey?" he asks directly, and she doesn't know how to respond.

"You can't compare them," she finally says. "With Harvey, it's… it's different."

"Yeah… because it's love. I know you loved Travis too, but you don't anymore. You're just used to thinking that, and now you're too scared to let go of that belief."

"I can't hurt him."

"You hurt him even more when you lie to him."

"I am not lying!" she raises her voice. "He is my husband. I just lost our baby, Ian… I can't, and I won't leave him. He loves me, and I know you don't believe it, but I do, and that's enough."

"I know he loves you, but that doesn't stop him from hurting you. And you're hurting him, Harvey, and, most of all, yourself if you think you can just go back and everything will be fine. You don't love him, and one day you'll realize it… but by then, it'll be too late," he says and leaves.

Donna sits on the edge of her bed, releasing a long breath as a tear rolls down her cheek. "I just can't leave him," she whispers.

"Hey, Harvey," Mike calls out as he enters Harvey's office, but Harvey doesn't seem to notice.

"Harvey?" Mike calls again, a bit louder, and Harvey looks up.

"Are you okay?" Mike asks softly.

Harvey hesitates, then shakes his head. "No," he replies quietly.

"She's leaving, Mike... and I'll never see her again."

"I'm sorry," Mike says sincerely. "I really hoped she would choose you and not that son of the bitch!"

Harvey chuckles lightly. "Well, she loves him." he says in a low voice.

"Who believes..." Mike blurts out and Harvey looks at him surprised. Mike notices it and speaks up

"She thinks she does, but she doesn't look at him the way she looks at you."

Harvey raises an eyebrow. "And how would you know that? Are you a romance-expert now?" he jokes.

"No… Rachel said it," Mike admits with a smile.

"Well, whatever… she chose him anyway."

"Do you want to go for a drink?"

"No, not tonight."

"Okay," Mike nods. "But if you need anything or change your mind… just give me a call."

"Thank you, Mike."

The next morning Donna makes her way at Mike and Rachel's to say goodbye to her friend.

"You're making a big mistake, Donna!" Rachel tells her.

"God damn it, Can you two stop keepting to say that to me. You're annoying" Donna snaps and Rachels is slightly taken aback.

"I'm sorry" Donna apologizes quickly "It's just... it's my life and my decision and I chose him, he's my husband and the one I promised to love him in good and bad times... and now are the bad times"

"and he promised the same to you but cheated on you anyway"

"And I forgave him. I lied to him, too. I hurt him, too. He was waiting for me and I... I was speeding time with another man" Rachel nods.

"I'm sorry, I won't say it anymore, you figure it out one day yourself but then ther will be no way back for you and Harvey" Donna doesn't answer to this anymore.

"I- I have to leave now, I need to do something first before I head towards airport"

"Yeah sure, goodbye Dona" Rachel tells her and pulls her in a hug.

"goodbye Rachel. Take care of yourself"

"yeah, you too"

When Donna reaches the door she turns one last time towards her friend.

"Rachel?"

"yeah?"

"Keep an eye on him, okay? He'll need you two"

"We will" she promises and Donna leaves.

Harvey decides to return to the place where they first met. She's leaving today, leaving forever, and he knows he has to accept it and close this chapter of his life. Maybe visiting that spot will help. Fortunately, he doesn't have to come to this part of New York often; there's only one client, and he plans to hand them over to Mike so he won't have to be here again anytime soon.

As he walks along, he stops in his tracks when he sees Donna. She was about to turn, and their eyes meet.

"Harvey," she says quietly as she turns to leave the place again.

"What are you doing here?" he asks softly.

"I—uhm," she closes her eyes for a moment, "I wanted to say goodbye."

"Yeah, same," he confirms.

"I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you," she says with a shaky voice, and he nods, unsure of what to say. She hadn't meant to, but she did.

"I never lied to you about my feelings for you. I hope you believe me that."

"I know," he replies in a low voice.

"Do you regret it?" she asks quietly. "Do you regret us?"

"I—" he pauses, searching for the right words. "No, I don't. Because it showed me that real love exists. But… maybe I regret believing that it could last forever."

Donna nods. "I'm so sorry," she says, closing the distance between them. He stands frozen as she places her hand on his cheek, stroking it with her thumb.

"One day, you'll find someone who'll love and treat you the way you deserve. And I hope you won't push her away because of us, because of what I did. You don't have to forgive me, but please, promise me you won't give up on finding love and don't build walls around yourself." he doesn't response. what is he supposed to say? How is he supposed to revert trust someone ever again? Or love someone like her in the first place?

She leans in, kisses his cheek, and then walks toward the taxi stand.

As Harvey steps off the curb, deep in thought, he doesn't notice the red traffic light. The sudden sound of screeching brakes and the honk startles him, and he jumps back, falling to the ground.

Donna turns back and sees him lying motionless.

"Harvey!!" she screams, running toward him.

"Harvey," she kneels beside him, "please wake up."

Then she hears him stir.

"Thank God," she breathes out, relieved.

"Hey," she says, tears streaming down her face. "Don't move," she tells him. "I'll call an ambulance."

"No, I—I'm fine," he replies, trying to get up, but as soon as he puts weight on his left arm, he groans in pain and collapses back to the ground, shutting his eyes tightly to stifle the sounds of his pain.

Donna calls for an ambulance and then helps him sit up.

"You're bleeding," she says, pressing her hand to his head and gently touching the wound on the left side of his forehead.

He hisses at her touch.

"I'm sorry" She retrieves a napkin from her bag and presses it to the wound.

"Are you okay?" she asks, worried by the distant look in his eyes and his frequent blinking.

"I—uhm, just a little dizzy," he whispers. "Don't worry," he forces a smile, but a moment later, everything changes.

The dizziness intensifies.

"Harvey?"

"I—uh… I—" he looks at her and she sees the fear in his eyes, and then his body goes limp.

"Harvey!" she yells, catching him before he hits the ground again, cradling his head against her chest.

"Harvey!" she cries, carefully laying him on the ground to check his vitals.

A part of her feels relieved when she finds a pulse and confirms he's breathing, but the rest of her is terrified. She calls 911 again, pleading for them to hurry.

"Harvey please, wake up" she begs, hovering over him, her forehead touching his. "Please" she whispers, "I can't lose you... I love you" she sobs "I love you"

Hey there,

I am back!

I'm soooo sorry this took me so long, but I had a lot on my plate.

But now everything's done and I'm completely free and have enough tie to focus on this.

I hope there's still someone out there :) I would love to know what you think.

Next chapter will come soon, I promise!

Have a nice time!
