Chapter 2: Floor Guardians and The Sun Eater

Sixth Floor

"Raise your heads," Momonga called, maximizing his presence and aura, an act which resulted in various reactions from the Guardians, while Ben merely considered the show of power to be pointless. "You all did well to gather here; thank you."

"Your thanks is wasted upon us," Albedo said, devotion pouring through in her every word. "We here have all pledged ourselves to you. Lord Momonga, Lord Ben, I fear that our abilities may not meet your expectations. Despite this, we will strive to meet them, in honor of the lost Supreme Beings, our creators, this, we vow!"

"We vow this, to you!" the others called in unison.

"Wonderful!" Momonga called, spreading his arms. "I am confident that all of you will be able to fulfill your duties without fail!"

His praise seemed to deeply please all of the guardians before him. "Now then," Momonga continued. "The Great Tomb of Nazarick is caught up in an unknown situation. We had Sebas step out and survey our surroundings."

Ben turned to the side, where Sebas was waiting, and the Dragonoid butler bowed, which Ben acknowledged with a nod and a ghost of a smile.

Sebas approached and gave his report. As opposed to the swamps that previously surrounded the Great Tomb of Nazarick, it was now surrounded by a vast, open grassland. There did not appear to be any buildings nearby, and Sebas added that he did not see any beings within a kilometer around Nazarick.

"Excellent work, Sebas," Momonga said. "It seems that Nazarick has been transported to an unknown land for some reason. Floor guardian leader, Albedo. As well as the defensive leader, Demiurge."

"Yes?" they both responded immediately.

"Create a stronger information sharing system and fortify our defenses!" Momonga commanded. "Mare, is there a way to conceal the Great Tomb of Nazarick?"

"I-it would be difficult just using magic," Mare said, looking down. "But, if we covered the walls with dirt and concealed ourselves with vegetation…"

"You wish to smear the glorious walls of Nazarick with dirt?" Albedo repeated, venom in her voice.

"Albedo, do not make unnecessary remarks," Momonga commanded.

"Of course. I am very sorry, Lord Momonga," she responded immediately, bowing her head further.

"Is it possible to conceal ourselves by covering our walls with dirt?" Momonga continued, looking towards Mare.

"Y-yes. As long as you allow it. However…" Mare trailed off.

"I don't see any issue with it. Ben?" Momonga turned to his fellow Player

"A random mound would look unnatural though." Ben said, voicing his inner concerns. "Br-I mean Sebas, were there any hills around the area?"

"No," Sebas responded. "Unfortunately, we are surrounded by flatlands."

"I see," Momonga said, thinking briefly. "What if we made dummy hills in the area?"

"I believe we would blend in with such a surrounding," Sebas said.

"Alright," Momonga decided. "That is what we shall do. Afterwards, we will hide the open areas that we cannot cover with illusions."

"Y-yes. I understand," Mare said.

"Lastly, I wanted to ask each floor guardian something," Momonga said. "What kind of person am I am Ben to you?"

Ben couldn't help but raise a brow at Momonga's question. "Is that really necessary?"

"This would allow us gain further insight on what they really think about us." Momonga answered

"The introvert in me doesn't like this." Ben mentally signed. "But you've already asked them so we might as well hear their thoughts."

Shalltear was the first to respond, blushing and looking towards them with something akin to worship. "Beauty incarnates. There is nothing, living or undead, that could ever compare to the both of you."

"Cocytus." Momonga called

"Men whose strength are unrivaled by any guardian." Cocytus replied. "You are both truly worthy of ruling the Great Tomb of Nazarick, always and absolutely."

"Aura."

"Compassionate." She answered. "You're both always three steps ahead of the game."

"Mare."

"You're both leaders who're kind, as well as merciful." He said

"Demiurge."

"Men who makes wise decisions then acts upon them efficiently and without any form of hesitation." He replied. "Both your enigmatic natures makes it nigh impossible to be predicted."

"Sebas."

"You Lord Momonga are the head of all

the Supreme Beings." Sebas said before turning to face Ben. "And you Lord Ben are the heart of Nazarick. A Loyal and Committed ally of Lord Momonga, even though the other creators had left us behind, you mercifully stayed in Nazarick until the very end."

"And lastly, Albedo."

"You Lord Momonga are our ultimate master, and the ruler of Nazarick." Albedo said, before casting her gaze on Ben as she began to blush furiously. "And you Lord Ben are the man I love! And finally! Finally! We will be able to–"

"I-I see!" Momonga interrupted her. "We have heard all your thoughts. Continue working faithfully in our name!"

"Yes!" they all responded in unison.

Momonga and Ben teleported away from the arena and into a nearby hallway. On arriving, Ben slightly slumped against the closest wall. "That was…"

"Insightful?" Momonga asked

"Insightfully scary." Ben answered. "Reading their character sheets is one thing, but witnessing their glorious views of us first hand…"

"It troubles you." Momonga deduced

"Yeah." Ben said with a sign. "What if we don't meet their expectations?"

"I don't think it really matters to them if you meet their expectations." Momonga said. "At least Albedo doesn't seem to mind."

"Thanks for that by the way." Ben said dryly

"Oh hush now, don't act like you don't find her attractive you nerd." Momonga laughed

"I'll be honest with you, I do find her attractive. The issue is that I've never had a…you know what, forget it." Ben said as he started to walk out of the Hall

"Where are you heading to?" Momonga asked

"Lyngvi." Ben answered before fully exiting the Hall

Back at the Sixth Floor Arena

The guardians began standing one by one in the wake of Momonga's and Ben's departure.

"Th-that was really scary, sis!" Mare whimpered.

"Seriously!" she nodded. "I thought we were going to be crushed by the pressure!"

"To think they would be this impressive," Cocytus pondered.

"So that is Lord Momonga when he truly shows himself as our leader," Albedo said, clasping her hands

"So it would seem," Demiurge agreed.

"It seems they have answered to our vow of fidelity," Cocytus remarked.

"He was completely different when he was with us," Aura said, looking towards Mare. "Lord Momonga was super kind! He even gave us something to drink just because we seemed thirsty!"

"I am more interested in Lord Ben." Demiurge said

"You're right, I couldn't really get a good read on Lord Ben." Aura said. "It was as if he was standing on a whole different level from us."

Albedo trembled at these words.

"Indeed Aura." Demiurge nods in agreement. "I remember Lord Ulbert calling him the 'Wild Card of Nazarick'. An individual who's potential is also a mystery amongst the Supreme Beings."

"S-So that's why we couldn't really fathom his presence." Mare said in wonder. "Amazing!"

Albedo turned toward them abruptly, manic obsession in her eyes, and her hands still clasped by her chest. "It's exactly as you say! They responded to our feelings and acted just as Supreme Beings should! As expected of our creators! Among the 42 supreme beings, Lord Ben is a merciful and loyal man who stayed behind with Lord Momonga in this land until the end!" By the end of her rant, she was breathing deeply and was blushing intensely.

"I shall return first," Sebas said, severing the current thread of conversation. "I do not know where the Supreme Beings went to, but I should be by their side, especially Lord Ben."

"Sebas, inform me immediately if anything happens," Albedo said, turning to him with a much more dignified expression. "Especially if Lord Ben calls for me. I will rush to his side! No matter what I have to sacrifice in exchange! But tell Lord Ben that I will need time if he calls me to his bedchamber; I would need to bathe first. Of course, if he wants me to go without bathing…"

"I understand," Sebas interrupted her. "I shall take my leave, floor guardians."

As Sebas walked away, Demiurge turned toward Shalltear and noticed that she was still kneeling and trembling slightly. "Is something wrong, Shalltear?" He asked.

"What is it, Shalltear?" Cocytus asked, turning to her as well.

"Ahh," she moaned, fiddling with a strand of hair hanging down from her bangs as she blushed. "H-His amazing presence has excited me so much that my underwear has gone through a bit of a crisis."

"You bitch!" Albedo glowered, her aura starting to flare up.

"What? We just received so much of Lord Momonga's energy! We got such a reward!" she retorted, standing and turning toward Albedo as her own aura flared in response. "A girl who doesn't get wet from something like that is crazy, you wide-mouthed gorilla!"

"You lamprey!" Albedo taunted.

"I was created to look this way by the supreme beings," Shalltear retorted.

"The same goes for me!" Albedo yelled.

"Err, Aura," Demiurge said, raising his hand. "I'll leave these issues to someone who understands them better."

"Hey, Demiurge!" Aura exclaimed, starting to panic. "Are you planning on making me take care of this?! You're much older than me!"

"If it gets really bad, I'll intervene," he said dismissively and started to leave.

Noticing his chance, Mare fled, following Demiurge.

"Goodness. Is this really something worth fighting over?" Cocytus groused.

"Cocytus!" Aura pleaded.

Left on her own, she turned back to see Albedo and Shalltear nearly at blows.

A short distance away, Demiurge, Mare, and Cocytus stood. "Their Vitriol aside, I'd be quite interested to see the result of such a union. It would be a great addition to our forces and for the future of Nazarick."

"Wh-what do you mean?" Mare asked.

"A great ruler should have a heir, right?" he replied, with a peculiar expression. "Lord Momonga and Ben stayed behind until the end. But one day, they may leave for another place like the other Supreme Beings some day. It would be nice if they left offsprings we could pledge our fidelity to in their place."

"What kind of blasphemy are you spouting?! If we do our jobs,

that won't be needed." Cocytus said

"Yes, of course. But, instead of just

serving just them, we could pledge ourselves to their line." Demiurge countered.

Cocytus considered the thought. "That would be nice…No! That would be wonderful! He exclaimed. "Ahh, to be called Uncle Cocytus! And the children could ride upon my shoulders sometimes!" He slowly drifted away, and began moving about strangely, as if concretizing the fantasies playing in his mind.

"By the way, Mare?" Demiurge turned to the Elf. "Is there a particular reason you're wearing female garments?"

"Actually, this is something that Bukubukuchagama chose for me." Mare said. "She said I was a "cross dresser," or something like that. Maybe wearing these clothes makes it easier for me to cast my magic spells?"

"Hm. Interesting. Perhaps it would be fruitful to try having the males dress in female garments at some point Later. Cocytus." Demiurge called. "If you could come back to reality, please."

"What a wonderful scene," he mused, slowly returning. "That is truly something to be wished for…"

"I am glad you are pleased with the thought," Demiurge said. "Aura! Have Albedo and Shalltear finished their little spat?

"Yeah, the catfight is over." Aura turned to him. "Looks like they've made a decision…"

"We have decided that Albedo would be Lord Ben's Official wife, while I Lord Momonga's." Shalltear said.

"Official Wife?" Mare asked

"It would be strange if the absolute rulers of Nazarick only had one wife each," Albedo agreed.

"That is a very important matter, to be sure," Demiurge said. "But will you give us our orders first?"

"Of course," Albedo said, brushing her hair back a little. "Shalltear, we shall discuss this at length at another time."

"I have no problem with that," she answered.

"Then let us begin with the plans," Albedo said, adopting a more serious and formal tone as she clasped her hands by her waist.

Lyngvi

The sound of Ben's footsteps rang through the large Catacomb Region of Lyngvi, with the young player navigating through one hallway after another in complete silence. While the Ten floors of Nazarick were open to all members of Ainz Ooal Gown, Lyngvi was a somewhat special case. This Floor Dungeon was actually created by Touchme and Ben, who had both decided to use the drops gotten from the Raid Boss 'Odin' to create Lyngvi, alongside a very powerful NPC who the brothers regularly fought as a way of training themselves.

After turning several corners in these vast hallways, Ben abruptly stops as he senses the use of teleportation magic exactly three feet away from him. As though proving his point, Sebas suddenly appears Infront of him in a flash of blue, indicating that the aged Butler had used a teleportation ring to get here.

"Lord Ben, forgive me for coming here unannounced." Sebas bowed. "Lord Momonga had informed me of your current location, so I was duty bond to accompany you."

"It's fine, your presence isn't unwelcomed." Ben said waving away Sebas's concern. "Though I'm still getting used to my sensory ability. I wonder how good it would be if I used the second stage of my-"

"Thank you Lord Ben." Sebas said ending Ben's train of thoughts

"Right…stay behind him." Ben said as he began to lead Sebas through Lyngvi. After about ten minutes of walking, the duo made it to an area that looked like the Shrine of a Nordic Temple, with a massive cave right in front of them. After studying the Runes of the cave, Ben signaled Sebas to follow him before walking towards the cave. Once they entered the cave, Sebas saw that all the walls had various Runes carved into them.

"I believe I have never been to this part of Nazarick before." Sebas said as he continued to study the Runes with kin interest

"Besides me and my brother, not even the other Supreme Beings usually come here." Ben said as he begins to create multiple magic circles around himself

"These are Tenth Tier sealing Runes." Sebas realized before turning to Ben who looked about ready to cast a spell. "What did Lord Ben and Touchme seal here?"

While Sebas was still trying to figure out what was going on, Ben had already began to gather an absurd amount of mystic energy into his middle and index finger and with a single gesture, sent a wave of energy that erased every Rune both within and outside the cave. With the seal released, Sebas was instantly greeted with the site of a Giant Coffin Prison the size of a small house which had chains connecting it to the cave walls

"How long has this been here?" Sebas asked himself as he could not remember seeing the Coffin when he entered the cave. Sebas hesitantly took a step forward to examine it, however the room began to shake and he quickly jumped back dodging the rock that came crashing to the floor. Looking back, he could now see that the chains which were attached to the Coffin were now broken as something began to furiously tear through the metal coffin.

Adopting a defensive stance, Sebas could only watch as the coffin was suddenly destroyed, revealing a ten foot giant of a wolf with pure black fur and blood shot eyes. With the Wolf free, it released an intense wave of bloodlust throughout the cave which caused the air around Sebas and Ben to become heavier. Despite the overwhelming pressure being released by the Wolf, Sebas looked about ready to defend himself against the beast.

"That's enough Fenrir." As soon as those words left Ben's mouth, the unseen force that had been threatening to rip the duo suddenly disappeared as the creature of legend seem to calm down as he studied Ben

"That was unexpected." Sebas thought as he released a breath he didn't know he was holding

"Master Ben?" Came the deep voice of the demon wolf

"It's good to see you-" Ben did not get to finish as Fenrir suddenly tackled him to the ground so fast that Sebas didn't even have time react to the Wolf. Drawing back his fist, the Dragonoid was about to attack Fenrir but was stopped by the sound of laughter coming from beneath the beast. On closer inspection, Sebas noticed that Fenrir wasn't attacking Ben rather he was licking him the way dogs licked their owners

"Oh Master Ben you have no idea how much I've missed you." Fenrir said as he continued to lick Ben's face

"It's only been a day since I last visited." Ben chuckled as he struggled and failed to free himself from the wolf.

"A day is still too long to be deprived of your presence." Fenrir said before finally freeing his creator. Standing to his feet, Ben proceeds to pet Fenrir on his head causing the Wolf to wag his tail.

"He seems different from when we first entered." Sebas said.

"Honestly I'm a bit surprised myself." Ben thought before remembering that his brother had based Fenrir's personality after their late pet dog. "Originally Yggdrasil did not allow players to touch NPCS, but now that they are all real…"

"Lord Ben, why did you seal him here?" Sebas asked

"Oh, right…" Ben said before letting go of the Wolf. "... Unlike the rest of Nazarick who are loyal to the original 42, my brother and I created Fenrir to be only loyal to us."

"Which means had any Supreme Being besides you and Lord Touchme entered this floor…" Sebas trailed off

"He would attack them." Ben finish. "That's not adding to the fact we made him strong enough to rival Rubedo."

"Will you be sealing him back once you're done here?" Sebas asked

"No…I don't think I will." Ben said as he looked at the Wolf. "But Fenrir."

"Yes Master?"

"From today henceforth, I want you to serve under Nazarick. Can you do that?" Ben asked

"My loyalty is to only you and Lord Touchme, therefore I shall honor your request." Fenrir said causing Ben to pet him again

"Good Boy."

Weapons Room

Momonga picked out a greatsword from the weapons in the room.

"I only took on the class of magician, but, since I'm level 100, I should have enough strength to swing a sword." Momonga said while slowly taking a fighting stance and then a loud sound of metallic clanging ran through the room. The sword he had been holding a moment ago was now on the ground.

Ben who had been standing by in the room immediately picked up the greatsword and handed it to Momonga. "Looks like we still can't wield or equip items that aren't specific to our in-game class."

"It's been three days since we came to this world…" Momonga said as he did not take the sword, but looked at his empty hands. "...and I haven't once felt uneasy about my undead form."

"Maybe your mentality changed along with your body?" Ben asked

"I know that if I get emotionally unstable, some outside force makes me calm down. That bears investigation." Momonga said. "I haven't felt the need to eat or sleep since I got here."

"Pecks of being undead I guess?" Ben said

"Also, I haven't acted on my libido." Momonga signed. "I guess that's another sword I won't be wielding."

"I honestly have no comments for that." Ben said dryly

"Maybe not now, but you will when ever Albedo catches you alone in your room." Momonga said causing Ben to sweat drop

"Can we go back to the equipment topic." Ben said

"Create Greater Item!" Once Momonga cast the spell, his body was sheathed in a suit of engraved full plate armor. It glowed darkly, and its surface was covered in gold and silver patterns. Taking the sword in Ben's hand he began swinging the weapon with the skill of a seasoned warrior. "It really is like Yggdrasil.'

"If a magic item allows it, we can bypass our class restrictions." Ben said as he observed Momonga's new form. "Though I have to ask, was announcing your spells name necessary?"

"It's for dramatic effect." Momonga said sheepishly

"Riigght."

"Let's go outside of the Tomb for a bit." Momonga said

"I doubt Narberal would let us go alone." Ben said referring to the Maid who was waiting outside the room.

"You could teleport us outside without her knowing." Momonga said

"Okay then." Ben said, and without another word, he teleported them to the hallway close to one of Nazarick's exits.

"Let's go." Momonga said as he and Ben ascended a set of stairs before them

"We have a problem." Ben said suddenly stopping

"What is it?" Momonga asked

"Jealousy, Avarice, and Wrath are patrolling the area." Ben said

"But what are they doing on the first floor?" Momonga asked

"No idea." Ben shrugged

"How good is your sensory ability?" Momonga suddenly asked

"Originally in Yggdrasil it usually worked like a text notification but now, it's different." Ben said. "For one it seems to give me something akin to precognition, if that's the right word to use."

"How so?"

"Well for one, it seems Demiurge is teleporting to our location right now." Ben said just as Demiurge himself suddenly appeared before them

"Wow." Momonga said slightly impressed

"Lord Momonga, Lord Ben." Demiurge said, kneeling before them immediately. "You came here without any guards? And that armor…"

"Indeed," Momonga responded. "There is a reason for all of this."

A look of acknowledgement momentarily crossed his feature. "So that's how it is," he said. "As expected of the supreme rulers of Nazarick; your attention to detail is impeccable."

"What?!" Both Ben and Momonga exclaimed within their mind.

"Help me out Momonga, what exactly did we do?" Ben telepathically asked his guildmate

"I have no idea, I just wanted to go outside." Momonga replied

"However," Demiurge continued, completely unaware of their inner turmoil, "I cannot allow you to go out without anyone accompanying you."

"Very well," Momonga said. "We will allow just you and only you to accompany us."

With that, they strode past where Demiurge was kneeling. He bowed even more deeply and said, "Thank you very much for accepting my selfishness."

Momonga and Ben made their way further along and soon exited Nazarick, beholding the sky above for the first time. Its beauty was…unparalleled. This sight more than anything ruled out the notion of this being some other DMMO-RPG. It seemed impossible for humans to create something like this. The sky on the 6th floor that Blue Planet made was pretty amazing, but this was beyond even that.

Taking hold of the necklace on his neck, Momonga cast [fly] and soared into the air with Ben right behind, though in Ben's case, fly was a passive skill. Behind them, Demiurge sprouted leathery black bat wings from his back, and ascended in their wake. The duo soared higher and higher until they pierced the clouds. Removing his helmet and freeing his face, Momonga took in the night sky in all of its bounteous glory, with Ben doing the same. The moon was massive and provided ample light to see. Looking down, an entire planet stretched out before them.

"Amazing." Ben said unable to hide his shock

"The stars in the sky are like a glittering box of jewels," Momonga remarked.

Demiurge spoke from behind them "I believe this world shines so that my lords may adorn themselves with its riches,"

"Hm. That may be true," Momonga mused. "We may have come to this land to obtain this box of treasures. No," he quickly corrected himself, "it's not something we should hoard for ourselves; perhaps this is so we can adorn Nazarick and my friends of Ainz Ooal Gown with it."

Demiurge bowed his head. "If you wish it, we will use all the forces of Nazarick to obtain it for you," he stated with enough conviction that even Momonga was almost convinced.

"We don't even know what exists out there." Ben said. "Regardless, since everything is now real, I'm not really keen to World domination."

"Are you sure about that Ben? Cause the most enjoyable thing now might be taking over the world." Momonga said while chuckling

"Easy there Momonga, thoughts like that can be dangerous." Ben said

Unbeknownst to him, Demiurge gasped slightly behind them, his eyes widening as he took in Momonga's words of World domination.

"I wonder if there are more Yggdrasil players here beside us?" Ben said thoughtfully just before his ears picked up a great rumbling from below. Looking down, both Ben and Momonga saw immense waves of shifting earth approaching the walls of Nazarick. It looked like Mare was using the skill [earth surge, and combining that with another skill to increase its range.

"My Lords." Demiurge called, "May I ask what you plan to do?"

"I am thinking that I will go visit Mare while he is working," Momonga responded. "What do you think he would like as a reward for his efforts…Ben?"

"I don't know." Ben said.

Demiurge bowed his head slightly, saying, "I am sure that he will be happy just to have you speak with him."

"I suppose you're right," Momonga said, before summoning the helmet to his armor and once again obscuring his face. He was about head down when he noticed Ben still admiring the night sky. "Ben?"

"You two should go on without me." Ben said

"Lord Ben, I don't think it is wise for you to stay here without an escort." Demiurge said causing Ben to silently groan

"It's fine Demiurge." Ben said before noticing someone gliding towards their location. "Besides, I seem to have an escort already."

Also noticing the approaching figure, Momonga and Demiurge decided to head towards Mare's location.

"Albedo." Ben greeted as the Succubus elegantly glided towards his side, stopping a few feet away

"Lord Ben, why are you without an escort?" Albedo asked

"I wanted to take in the view of this World, but since you're here I hope you don't mind being my escort?" Ben asked trying to play nice

"Not at all, it would be my pleasure to be your escort, or even more if you desire it." Albedo said moving closer to him

"Wrong choice of words Ben." He thought to himself before noticing Momonga giving something to Mare, it was at that moment a thought occurred to him. Silently opening his inventory, he then brought out a magical item. "Albedo, I want you to have this."

"Is that?"

"The Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown." Ben answered. "Ever since I maxed out my teleportation, I've not had any use for it. I believe it would be of better use to you."

"I do, I accept your proposal of Marriage." Albedo said while giving him the fourth finger of her left hand

"Wait…hold on Albedo this isn't…" pausing to take a better look at Albedo, Ben couldn't help but be entranced by her happy demeanor. "Who am I kidding." He signed to himself before putting the ring through her finger.

"Does this mean you will take me now?" Albedo asked while gazing at Ben like a predator

"Easy Albedo, one thing at a time." Ben said defensively. "Let's just enjoy the view." He added before going back to observe the world around him. Meanwhile by Nazarick's wall, Momonga couldn't help but smile slightly at the site of Ben and Albedo
