Mephisto couldn't be more thrilled with this turn of events. Before him was a wonderful start of an entertaining show. Perhaps next time the angels wouldn't snub his hospitality of freshly brewed tea. It was rather rude of them after all.

"What is going on here Mephisto?" Shiro demanded an answer. "Are these demons part of your court?"

"Now, now Shiro, you'll offend them," Mephisto responded with great amusement.

"How long?" Sandalphon quietly demanded. "How long have you had this capability?"

"Hm... How long indeed?" He answered. There was such an interesting concept with time itself when he could weave in and out of time, pausing, slowing down, experiencing everything and anything. It wasn't something he had always had, but it might as well have been forever with how time betwixt itself for himself and the few beings that were capable of such grand feats. There were many angels that could only pray to obtain the skill he held in the palms of his hands.

Sandalphon's eyes were filled with a rare rage that was more likely on his brother's face than his own.

"Breath brother. We can address this later," Metatron spoke lowly. His anger evident, but his gaze was locked on Shiro. "Sit. Down. Shiro."

His voice was cold and absolute. Shiro met his gaze and did not back down.

"Who are you? And why are you here?"

Metatron took in a deep breath, attempting to calm his thoughts before addressing this unexpected development. The ability to bestow Clairvoyance was not a gift to take lightly. And in the hands of a demon of any rank was concerning. But for now, it was no doubt in his best interest to explain things to Shiro. Especially before he left, perhaps even running into Rin or others who he might tell.

A child saying something would be brushed off as childish whim. An adult would normally would be called crazy. But the position Shiro is in could me a renaissance of madness as humans attempt to force others to awaken their clairvoyance. The death and bloodshed that would undoubtedly throw the world into chaos it may never recover from.

"I walk beside you, as the Lord does all his children," Metatron spoke closer to the scripture that Shiro had long since memorized. He imagined it would make it easier to accept that he was an angel that he was now capable of seeing.

"Was that supposed to a bastardized attempt at scripture?" Shiro questioned.

"Hey! It wasn't! Don't most humans expect Angels to sound like they came out of the bible?"

"Angels? Don't make me laugh!"

"He's not lying Shiro. Metatron and Sandalphon are both in fact, Angels."

Shiro's gaze went to Samael, looking for any sign of deceit from the demon. Of course with his notoriously infamous smile, many found it hard to tell. But Shiro could tell from that smug expression that it had to be the truth. That level of satisfaction oozing out of him could only mean that he was telling the truth.

"Angels?"

"Yes."

"In your office."

Somehow, that felt like an insult.

"Yes."

"... And they aren't trying to kill you?"

"Hm... They can certainly try," Samael's smugness only grew at the thrown challenge.

"Let's start this over. Fujimoto Shiro, I am Metatron. An archangel."

"And I am Sandalphon. Like my brother, I am also an archangel."

"You know who I am. I have to admit, it's a little off putting since I didn't even know you existed," Shiro spoke with authority and closed tone.

"It must be difficult as the paladin, facing demons day after day after all, and only now being forced to see angels clearly," Sandalphon gave sympathy with his statement.

"You could say that," he admitted. "I take it that Samael has the only known brew for this?"

"Of course," Samael answered. His amusement seeming to dwindle down as the chaos he had craved seemed to extinguish like a weak ember. "Who else would have the time to find out how to make it?"

"Shiro, you must understand. You must tell no one of this," Sandalphon added.

"You speak as if I should trust you."

"We are angels. Why wouldn't you trust us?"

"I just met you. Why should I trust you? Either of you?"

"You don't," Metatron admitted. "We are strangers to you. For all you know, we are enemies. We don't look like the angels depicted in the bible. Many of us have taken forms that appear more approachable. For all you know, we are something to fear. Trusting us... you'd just need to have faith."

"That's corny brother," Sandalphon responded.

"It's true though. At least give us some time. Watch us if you must, but please remain quiet for now. If you don't trust us, then you could tell others."

The room was quiet with Metatron's words.

"But if you could, please don't tell your Angel subordinate," he followed up. Shiro couldn't help the quirk of his lips in amusement. Even "angels" it seemed, got annoyed with the zealous exorcist.

"We'll see."

"Splendid!" Samael interrupted them. "It seems you are all getting along better than anticipated."

"...You were hoping for a fight to break out, weren't you?" Sandalphon asked. His smile said it all as he didn't refute the claim.

"Well... this has been... an event. We will see you soon, no doubt," Metatron waved a farewell and departed the room, leaving the others behind. Sandalphon didn't even dignify his brother leaving with a sigh. He merely followed after his brother, leaving Shiro and Samael alone.

"Angels. And here I thought I had seen everything, Mephisto."

"What can I say, I like surprises. Giving them mainly. So many fail to surprise me."

"Hm. Very well. I believe those "angels" had the right idea about leaving. I assume that was the only reason you requested me."

"Actually no. We still need to finalize Rin's paperwork."

"Ack! I thought we had that all handled?"

"Shiro, whatever made you think that? I got Rin in so soon because he needs to catch up in classes since he "disappeared". But you haven't filled anything out to help with the transfer," Samael explained, his smile growing more wicked at the horror and inconvenience of paperwork being thrown at Shiro.

Rin: Wait, I didn't even appear in this chapter.

Samael: Don't worry. You'll be there in the next chapter.

Rin: That somehow is even more concerning.

Thanks everyone! See you next time!
