When we got back, we discovered that an Order meeting had just finished and almost all the attendees had left. Demelza, Amy and I headed up to our room.
"Let's do this dramatically" said Amy
"Ooooh great idea" Demelza said, giggling
I sighed. "I'm not going to enjoy this am I?"
When we got to our room, Amy stuck out her arm to stop Demelza and I from entering.
"Hold on" Amy said, I'm gonna go in there and make an introduction first.
"Introduction?" I said "She already knows who I am mate"
Amy ignored me and walked inside.
"Lady and Gentleman" Amy began
Lady and Gentleman? I thought. Clearly Harry and Ron were in there with her then.
"I present to you, the new Ginny Weasley!"
At that moment, Demelza pushed me inside, too fast for me to resist. I burst through the door and fell down to my hands and knees, right in front of Harry, who I looked up at. Harry looked rather confused at the undignified and bizarre manner of my entrance, and also angry.
"Hello my love" I said from the floor.
There were a few moments of silence, then everyone else burst out laughing around me.
"What's so funny guys?" I said, humiliated.
Once everyone had calmed down, Ron said: "Well, you look ridiculous for one thing"
"And the way you just said hello my love to me like that, as if nothing was different" Harry added
"At least I honour my bets" I said
"That you do" Ron agreed, "fair fucks tbh, not sure I'd have actually gone through with it"
"Oh by the way" I said to Harry "we can't share a room. Once we go to bed it's gonna have to be separate"
"Yeah I know" said Harry darkly "Your mum told me over dinner"
"Anyway, you three missed a lot while you were out" Hermione said "we were allowed to hear stuff from the order!"
"What?!" Demelza, Amy and I said at the same time
"Seriously, the one time we're allowed to know is a time I'm out of the house?!" I said angrily
"I know mate, I'd be very frustrated too. It came about because your Mum got into an argument with Sirius about what Harry should and shouldn't know, but was eventually overruled" Hermione replied
"Wait, I'm not sure I heard that correctly. Are you actually telling me that Mum lost ANOTHER argument?"
"Yeah, it's not happened for a few years, made for a nice change" said Ron "Lupin and Dad forced her. She deserved it anyway after telling Sirius he was useless because he spent so much time in Azkaban!"
"She didn't!" Demelza said, shocked
"Yeah she did!" Harry said, "it was bang out of order. Sirius hexed her, but your dad removed the spell straight away"
"She's also not Harry's mum, no matter how much she wants to be. Sirius is his legal guardian" Hermione added.
"Yeah, she was saying Sirius acting like I was my dad was a bad thing! He needs a friend at the moment!" said Harry
"I don't blame Sirius, I'd probably have hexed her too if I was him" said Amy "Sorry, Ron, Ginny, no offence" she added hastily
"None taken, don't worry mate" I said and Ron nodded.
"She has a really bad control problem. When she's not allowed to enforce her way unopposed, she gets very nasty. She got what was coming to her." he said
"Anyway, what did they end up telling you?" Demelza asked
"Honestly, most of it was stuff we already knew through the extendable ears. It was more for Harry's benefit than ours" said Hermione
"Yeah, despite being very angry at my lack of news and your shit letters, I allowed them to stay there with me, because I would have told them everything anyway. Though I was very tempted to say I wouldn't, not gonna lie" said Harry
"Yeah Hedwig was pretty vicious" I said, holding up my bandaged arms. The morning after Harry's letter about the Dementor attack, Hedwig bit and pecked us constantly, trying to get us to reply to Harry. It was horribly difficult to ignore, but she backed off after about two days.
"Yeah, I told her to do that, sorry" said Harry awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.
"Don't worry, I completely understand"
"But there was one thing they said that we didn't already know" Ron said "and that was about a weapon they reckon You Know Who is after"
"What type of weapon" I asked
"Well that's the thing, we don't know" said Harry "your Mum cut Sirius off before he could tell us"
I rolled my eyes
"Of course she did. She needed to end with the final word didn't she"
"Yep" said Ron
"I reckon it's probably something that can kill a huge amount of people at once" Amy said
"Most likely" said Demelza, that or something that would put a huge number under his complete control instantly. Like a super powered Imperious Curse"
"Harry!" I said "I just remembered you're gonna be put on trial, you must be so worried! I certainly am!"
"I'm not" he said unconvincingly "but if I am expelled, maybe I can at least keep Sirius company here"
"I've already said that I reckon that the Ministry sent those Dementors after you" said Demelza to Harry "after all, as far as anyone knows, there aren't any outside their control. It would be the perfect plan to debunk that as your story. What do you think?"
"I assumed Voldemort sent them, but you could be right. We've talked about the whole Prophet campaign against me and Dumbledore that's going on at the moment" Harry replied.
"They can't expel Harry, not if they're following their own laws!" said Hermione
"Yeah, but they'll probably gloss over that and do it anyway" Amy said
"We better get to bed. Your Mum's already been around once, Ron and Harry had to run to their room and pretend to be asleep" Hermione said to me.
"Yeah, she nearly caught us too" said Ron
I gave Harry a hug and a kiss, and the 2 of them departed.
