Authors Notes::
Major Hidden Spoiler alert.
Before going onto the chapter I am going to clear a few things here, even though Gojo has taken rebirth in the Naruto world. But I am not going follow the usual path, although not a major cannon divergent but still there will be massive changes here and there.
The plans I have are very amazing from my perspective but let's see how much would you like them.
Chapter 7
Gojo's Perspective
Gojo's excitement soared. He could barely contain his joy—Kakashi Hatake, the legendary Copy Ninja, was the one carrying him. One of his favorite characters! He couldn't believe it.
But then, things got... strange.
But just as he was starting to enjoy this unexpected twist of fate, he overheard something absurd. The Hokage, the Sandaime himself, was teasing Kakashi about Kurenai?! 'Wait, what?'
'Hokage-sama,' Gojo thought, 'Are you implying that one of my favorite badass ninjas has been secretly having...' Gojo's inner monologue stumbled, 'sexcapades with Kurenai?' His mental jaw dropped. That was definitely not in the canon. He was floored. He didn't know how to feel about this revelation.
Gojo's mental gears screeched to a halt. 'Wait, what?' He couldn't believe it. 'Kurenai?' He smirked internally. Is this the same woman who tried to trap Uchiha Itachi in a Genjutsu? Yeah, that went well, didn't it?
Despite that silly stunt, he couldn't deny it—Kurenai was a beautiful and lovable character. Even if she stumbles, she's still a badass. He chuckled to himself. Maybe pick your battles a little more wisely, Kurenai!
But time later a thought hit him. 'Wait, wasn't Asuma Sarutobi supposed to be shipped with Kurenai?' Gojo's mind raced through his knowledge of the Naruto timeline, utterly confused. 'What happened to that?' But the next second, he shrugged mentally. 'Who cared? This was Kakashi freakin' Hatake we're talking about!'
But it got worse. The Hokage, with his signature dry humor, was teasing Kakashi that Gojo might be his son. 'His son?!' Gojo had to fight the urge to burst out laughing. He felt a weird sense of pride bubbling up—'Kakashi as my dad?' It sounded like a fanboy's wildest dream come true! He could practically hear the Hokage egging on Kakashi with playful jabs about fatherhood.
In his mind, Gojo silently cheered for the Hokage. 'Keep teasing him! This is too good! Kakashi and Kurenai as my parents? Man, if only I were actually their kid!' He imagined how Kurenai might react if the Hokage really did start spreading rumors about her and Kakashi. 'She might be mad enough to try another Genjutsu on him—too bad Kakashi's got that Sharingan to see right through it.'
But then reality hit him: he wasn't Kakashi's son. He was the child of another, and that pang of disappointment settled in his chest for a moment. Still, he couldn't stop the excitement from rising again. The Sandaime's teasing was hilarious, and Gojo couldn't help but root for the Hokage to keep the jokes coming. 'This world...' he thought with a smirk, 'Is already going to be more fun than I imagined.'
Gojo's thoughts shifted back and forth between the absurdity of Kakashi's supposed relationship with Kurenai and his own excitement at being in this world. But one thing was for sure: he was definitely rooting for more teasing. Kakashi was awkward, flustered, and all the more amusing because of it.
As the conversation went on, Gojo's heart soared. Despite not being Kakashi's actual son, he secretly wished he was. 'I mean, who wouldn't want to be the son of Kakashi Hatake?'
But for now, he'd settle for enjoying the banter between the Hokage and Kakashi. The Sandaime knew how to keep things lively, and Gojo was all for it. After all, this was a world full of surprises, and he was more than ready to embrace every one of them.
But that lighthearted sense of amusement quickly faded as the letter took a darker turn.
The words of his mother "Kiyomi Gojo", hit Satoru like a punch to the gut. She wrote of a love he had never experienced in his previous life—motherly love. Back in his world, he'd been raised in the cold confines of the Gojo clan, stripped of any maternal affection by the elders who saw such emotions as weakness. As the Hokage read on, Gojo felt a lump form in his throat. His mother loved him fiercely, but she had been broken by the world around her. She had wanted to watch him grow, to protect him. Yet, her despair over his blindness, caused by the corrupt chakra of the Kyuubi, and her overwhelming grief for his father's death had weighed too heavily on her.
As Gojo listened to the letter, the mention of blindness immediately grabbed his attention. His mother wrote that the Kyuubi's dark chakra had left him blind at birth, but Gojo knew that wasn't true. He could still feel the power within his eyes—his Six Eyes were there, just dormant.
He wanted to protest, to speak up, but quickly bit his tongue. The atmosphere was too heavy, the room filled with the weight of the letter's sorrow. Kakashi stood silent, and the Hokage's face grew grim as he continued to read. Gojo, still adjusting to this world, felt strangely detached but intrigued by his supposed condition.
'Blind?' That couldn't be right. But maybe there was something more to it. Perhaps this was his new world's way of giving him a challenge—some plot armor to overcome later. The ninja world was full of ridiculous things like that, and Gojo almost laughed at the absurdity of blindness as a plot device.
Gojo's thoughts raced as he listened to her further words. "Suicide". She had chosen to end her own life rather than face the anguish of watching him live in a cursed, cruel world. Gojo's anger flared, not at her, but at the unfairness of it all. He snorted to himself. 'Hellish world?' It wasn't like his home world had been all ice cream and sunshine either. There was always a price to pay for power, and life had been just as grim in the Gojo clan. But he couldn't help but feel a pang of frustration.
She could have done more.
She could have fought to stay alive, fought for him.
His father's death during the Kyuubi attack only added to the tragedy. But then a stray thought hit him—the Kyuubi attack. The pieces of the puzzle began to click into place in his head. Gojo's brain, ever perceptive and quick, began putting two and two together. The Kyuubi attack happened just a week ago, meaning... he had been born right around the same time as... Naruto.
His heart skipped a beat. He was in Naruto's world, and now he realized he shared an eerily similar fate to Naruto himself—a life shaped by tragedy right from birth. Just like Naruto had grown up orphaned by the same attack, here he was, living out a parallel life. Blind from birth, abandoned by his mother, cursed by the same chakra that had shaped Naruto's life. Gojo almost wanted to laugh at the cruel irony. He had been so eager to dive into this world and play around with its powers and ninjas, but now he felt the weight of his own backstory settling in.
As the letter came to its heartbreaking end, with Kiyomi describing where her body could be found by the old willow tree, Gojo's heart clenched. She wanted him to visit her someday, to tell her about his life, his achievements. She had wished she could watch him grow and succeed, but all she had been able to do was nurse him that one time, the first and last time she had cared for him.
Tears welled up in Gojo's eyes, and he let out a wail. For the first time since his rebirth, he felt vulnerable. His previous life had been cold, calculated, and filled with immense power and ego. But here, he was a newborn with a tragic start. He hated the Gojo clan elders even more now. They had stripped him of this love, this tenderness, all for the sake of their precious power. And yet, this world's tragedy mirrored his own, in ways he hadn't anticipated.
As the Hokage finished reading the letter, Gojo couldn't stop the tears from falling. Even as he snorted at some of the grim realities his mother mentioned, he couldn't deny the aching loss he felt deep inside.
'She loved me, but she gave up,' he thought bitterly, clenching metaphorical fists in his mind. 'She didn't know what I could have become. I could have shown her...' Yet, as much as he wanted to criticize her, the grief in her words broke his resolve. 'She had loved him', even if she couldn't stay to watch him grow.
On the Way to Konoha Hospital
As Kakashi carried baby Gojo through Konoha's busy streets, the little bundle in his arms felt oddly heavy for something so small. Gojo, however, was oblivious to this weight, not that he could understand much yet, being in a baby's body.
The air smelled of fresh ramen, and Gojo's senses were sharper than ever, though, in his baby form, his focus kept shifting. 'Smells like I might be missing out…'
Kakashi arrived at the hospital, and Gojo's thoughts jolted. 'Wait—hospital?' His brain went into overdrive. 'Why am I here again? Oh, right. The Hokage Ordered it…'
Kakashi approached a nurse, asking her to take Gojo in for a check-up. 'A check-up? As if I need one!'
But it was when Kakashi handed him over to the nurse that a strange feeling crept into Gojo's mind. The warmth of her arms replaced Kakashi's grip, and for a moment, Gojo felt a pang of—what? Loss? Relief? He couldn't tell. 'Why am I getting sentimental about this?'
The nurse smiled down at him, cooing, and Gojo nearly rolled his eyes. 'I was a powerhouse back home, and now I'm being babied again...''
Normal Perspective
The nurse wanted to squeal, she had taken care of many beautiful babies. But this one was way more beautiful, his snow-like hair and his pale white face almost gave him an angel-like feeling.
She gently cradled Gojo in her arms, a soft giggle escaping her lips.
For a moment, she stared at Kakashi, then back at Gojo. "Wait, does this baby… belong to Hatake Kakashi?" she whispered to herself, eyes wide with curiosity. However, she quickly shook her head. "No way. Not him."
She knew too much about Kakashi's dark past, and the rumors of loneliness that followed him. He had lost too many people to form a deep, intimate bond with anyone. "Poor Kakashi," she sighed, her expression softening with sadness. If only she knew the truth.
She gently laid Gojo in the neonatal unit, surrounded by other newborns—some still being cared for, others now orphaned after the Kyuubi attack.
Gojo, nestled in his new surroundings, felt a surge of energy swirling within him. Instead of dwelling on the past or his mother's letter, his sharp mind went into overdrive. 'Alright, enough of that. Time to figure things out.'
His senses began to sharpen.
He began to focus inward, sensing the powerful blend of positive and negative energy flowing through his small body. It was untamed, raw—massive. This new world wasn't going to be a cakewalk, but at least he had potential, and power lurking within him.
As his senses sharpened, Gojo began to expand his awareness, shifting his attention to the energy outside his own body. The moment he did, he was hit with a rush of power—huge, intense, and all around him.
The raw energy he had been feeling all around him, and even inside himself, was no longer a mystery. He now understood. This is chakra.
He smirked, the realization sparking excitement within him. So, this is the Naruto world, he thought. Everything started to make sense—the immense power he had sensed, the aura of the Hokage, and even the energy coursing through his own tiny body. 'Chakra... this world runs on it.'
The sheer volume of chakra around him was staggering, unlike anything he had ever felt in his previous life. It was everywhere—flowing through people, radiating from the very air, and even swirling through his newborn form. This is even crazier than cursed energy, he mused, feeling both exhilarated and intrigued by the discovery.
'Chakra... positive and negative energy, intertwined. It's more refined and more versatile.' He could feel the potential waiting to be unlocked within him. Even though he was just an infant, Gojo's mind was racing, already calculating how he could bend this new power to his will.
'This world is going to be interesting,' he thought, determination welling up within him. The vastness of chakra made his previous life feel small in comparison, and now he had a whole new playground to master. 'First cursed energy, now chakra... let's see what I can do with this.'
The neonatal unit was filled with it. He could feel the chakra signatures of babies nearby, but there was something much larger—something overwhelming emanating from close by. Gojo's thoughts sharpened. 'This chakra... it's massive.'
Gojo focused on the massive chakra signature that flooded the room. His mind, always quick and calculating, began running random equations, attempting to figure out how to grab onto that immense power. After a few moments, he managed to lock onto it. The chakra tugged at him like an anchor pulling him in.
'This feels familiar... let's see where this goes,' Gojo thought, allowing the force to pull him deeper.
In an instant, he found himself yanked into a new space—a cage. Blinking, he glanced down at himself, relieved to see he was back in his adult form. He stretched his arms, feeling his usual strength and presence return. 'Good. This is more like it.'
Feeling oddly relieved that he wasn't trapped as a baby anymore. His iconic outfit was back—his high-collared black uniform, slightly loose-fitting yet perfectly tailored to his form, paired with his sleek blindfold. He ran his hand over his face, noticing the faint glow of his Six Eyes was still present under the blindfold.
He dramatically sighed in exaggerated relief, placing a hand on his chest. "Oh, thank the heavens! The Six Eyes are still intact." He quickly began examining the rest of his body, patting his arms, legs, and torso as if checking for missing parts. "Everything's in place... phew!" He flicked a finger through his white hair. "Would've been a real tragedy if I'd come out of that baby mess missing something important."
Now to address the elephant in the room.
Gojo's excitement surged as his eyes locked onto the tiny figure nearby. His breath hitched for a moment as the realization sunk in: the baby lying there was none other than Uzumaki Naruto.
He blinked rapidly, almost unable to process it. 'Holy crap... It's actually him!' His heart raced, his mind spinning with excitement. He had been carried by Kakashi Hatake—the Kakashi, one of his all-time favorite characters. The sheer presence of the Hokage had already blown his mind. But now, staring at the literal lead character of the entire Naruto series, even though he was just an infant, was the ultimate cherry on top.
'This is surreal!' Gojo thought, his lips curling into a manic grin. "I'm not dreaming, right? I'm standing in front of the real Naruto. Like, the Naruto Uzumaki!" His excitement bubbled up, threatening to burst out in laughter.
He leaned closer to baby Naruto, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. 'Oh man, you're so tiny right now! But you'll grow up to be the one and only Hokage!' Gojo almost felt like fanboying, but even in this strange situation, he maintained his usual cocky demeanor.
And then there was Kurama. The mighty Kyuubi, just as massive and fearsome as he imagined, though currently sleeping obviously regaining his strength. 'I mean who wouldn't, loosing your half of the power needs some rest.'
His squealing grew even more animated as his excitement reached its peak. 'The protagonist, the legendary nine-tailed fox, and Kakashi—this is the ultimate crossover dream come true!'
If not for Gojo's squealing the atmosphere was rather gloomy. 'What's with this shitty mindscape'
But Gojo wasn't one for subtlety or respecting atmospheres. He smirked and cupped his hands around his mouth.
"HEY, KURAMA!" he shouted with all the enthusiasm of a madman waking up a giant beast for fun.
The sudden shout echoed in the cage, startling Kurama. The massive fox's eyes snapped open, glowing red with annoyance as his head jerked up to glare at the source of the noise. Gojo, utterly unfazed, stood there with a cocky grin plastered across his face.
"Rise and shine, furball!" Gojo added with a laugh, not bothering to lower his voice. This was going to be fun.
