Derrick Johnson was excited.
He was due to become a father in ten days and he was jumping up and down on a trampoline in his backyard to stimulate himself.
You see, Derrick still needed to determine how he was going to name his daughter and Derrick had always found that working himself up physically kicked his brain into overdrive too.
So, Derrick jumped up and down on his trampoline for five minutes and five nanoseconds before stepping off.
The spring in his step had indeed put a bounce in his brain.
And then an idea came to him.
He would use the naming of his daughter to pay tribute to a classmate who had helped him along the way to becoming the best Chaser in his generation at Hogwarts.
In first year flying class, he had been the worst. His broom hadn't moved at all when he had given it the "up" command. And when they had tried to fly, he had gotten only an inch off the ground before crashing down again.
Derrick had lacked confidence about brooms and flying and this disastrous first episode made his uncomfortableness around brooms worse.
Most of the class, both Slytherins and his own Gryffindors, had made fun of him.
But there was one girl who had not.
Her name was Angelina Spinnet.
Far from making fun of Derrick, when everyone was back on the ground, Angelina had gone up to Derrick and given him a comforting pat on the back as well as a word of encouragement that he was definitely capable of doing it.
While Angelina's kind words had made him feel better, Derrick's performance did not improve throughout the class.
Angelina had pulled Derrick aside and offered to help him practice flying the Sunday after the lesson.
As Angelina was the best flier in his year, he accepted this offer both gratefully and hopefully.
What impressed Derrick the most was how patient Angelina was when she gave him this one on one tutoring.
She did not get mad or impatient with his struggles. Instead, she matter of factly explained to Derrick what his errors were and how he could fly better while throwing in a side of encouragement.
He showed slow but sure improvement, and, by the end of the semester, Derrick was actually the second best flier in his year behind only Angelina.
When second year rolled around, Derrick wanted to go out for Chaser, but his aim was terrible.
So, Angelina took Derrick under wing again and spent an entire Sunday afternoon working with Derrick on his aim and timing.
Derrick was performing far better with the quaffle at the end of this session than he was at the beginning of this session, and he was hopeful that he would make the Gryffindor team.
Not only did he make the team, but he became the best Chaser of his generation with Angelina herself being second best.
Derrick had loved Quidditch and hoped that his daughter would eventually play for her Hogwarts house team, preferably as a Chaser.
"Angelina," decided Derrick happily and excitedly, "My daughter shall be called Angelina Johnson. I bestow the name Angelina upon my daughter as a means of expressing appreciation for the classmate who tutoring me in Flying and Chasing, allowing me to become the second best flier in our year behind only herself and the best Chaser in our generation just ahead of her. I hold out hope that Angelina Johnson will play Quidditch for her house team at Hogwarts and that she will even be team captain at some point. "
This was quickly settled in Derrick's mind.
He would name his daughter Angelina after the classmate who had tutored him in Flying and Chasing both to acknowledge her help and in the fond hope that Angelina Johnson would become a great Flier and Chaser herself.
"Angelina Johnson," smiled Derrick, "When you come into world, it will be the biggest score of my life."
