How To Train Your Dragon – Order of the Pheonix Edition

They told Charlie to remain overseas and recruit. They did not specify

"Weasley, what the hell are you doing?"

Charlie spun at the shout from his best mate, Boone. He was aware the grin on his face possibly looked maniacal. He'd had the absolute best idea last night though and he'd awoken this morning with a solid determination to put his plans to action.

"I'm recruiting." He said, beaming.

Boone looked at him, then the dragon, Gertrude. He glanced to the hatchling that had taken to following Charlie all over the reserve, Beatrice. Gertrude was a Swedish Short-Snout, and a rather temperamental one at that, but she was Weasley's pride and joy, so he could often be found here with her, attempting to gain her respect. Five years in, Boone still didn't see any respect happening. Boone looked away from Gertrude once more, eyes on Beatrice, the little Chinese Fireball. He sighed. "Alright, I'll bite. What do mean, recruiting?"

Charlie laughed. He turned back to Gertrude. "Watch." He told Boone. "Hey, Gerty. Be a love and show Boone what we learned, yeah?"

Boone was skeptical. Charlie had a series of photographs in his hands. Boone blinked. "Is that me? Are you training her to attack me?" he shouted, alarmed.

Charlie snorted. "No! I'm teaching her to recognize faces."

Boone blinked. "For what purpose?" Charlie was his best mate on the reserve, but even Boone had to admit it sometimes, Charlie Weasley was barking mad.

"I had a thought. If we can teach some dragons to recognize human faces as friends, then when the time comes, we can utilize dragons in the efforts against You-Know-Who."

Boone just blinked at him. His mind attempting to process this. No, Charlie was still absolutely off his rocker. However, Boone looked across the field to where Norberta was resting. He'd been part of the crew who'd gone to pick her up from Hogwarts. "You got a picture of Hagrid in there?"

Charlie's smile was wild. "I do. Right here."

"Perfect. You keep working with this little hellion here, I'm going to be taking that photo of Hagrid and work with Bertie."

Charlie was glad. It was always nice when his best friend got on board with his plans. He handed the photo over, and turned back to Gerty "This is Boone, Gerty. He's your friend. Right, love?"

As Boone stalked away with purpose toward Norberta, Gertrude let out a huff and released a small stream of fire. Charlie jumped out of the way with a sigh of defeat. "So close. So close."
