Hey all you lovely people out there! Here's a little Edward x Molly fic. Enjoy!
It was a beautiful autumn day on the Island of Sodor. It was chilly but the sun was out and the autumn foliage made the scene all the more joyful. Molly was filling in for Mavis at the Ffarquahr quarry. Bill and Ben were shunting in the quarry yard when they caught sight of her.
"Hey Ben!" Bill chirped.
"Hey Bill!" Ben replied.
"Are you thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?" Bill said with much mischief.
"Yes!" Ben smiled.
"Let's play with her!" The twins chuckled.
Molly quietly shunted away until Ben snuck up behind her with a truck. She biffed into it and yelped, caught off guard. She tried her best to shake it off and keep working, but deep down, it brewed in her like a storm.
Later on as Molly was organizing another train, things were going smoothly until the twins and their mischief struck once again.
The twins chuckled as she quietly shunted. Just when she was about to shunt that final truck, Bill and Ben blew their whistles loudly, startling her once again. This time she biffed into the entire train in front of her, causing it to derail. China clay went everywhere. The yard was a disaster.
"Keep it together Molly. Don't cry... Not now... Wait until we see Edward again." Molly thought to herself. She wanted to be strong and not as sensitive as she saw herself to be. She does cry a lot, but she knew that her fragility was admired by Edward. That's why she always felt comfortable crying and letting her emotions shine when she is with him.
Molly took a deep breath and carried on with her work.
Molly was tired. The last thing she had to do for the day was fill empties with China clay. As she was about to whistle to let the workmen know to pull the lever, the twins together pushed her forwards under the chute, just in time to be pelted by China clay as it cascaded down on top of her.
"Ow..." She whimpered, holding back tears.
"Thats enough you two." A familiar blue engine said as he pulled into the yard.
The twins looked at each other. They were just about to make a run for it when a familiar short stout figure stepped out of Edwards' cab.
"Not so fast you two!" Boomed the fat controller.
"Bill and Ben! You have caused confusion and delay! The yard is a mess, and thanks to your antics, Molly now needs to go to the works to be repaired!" The fat controller scolded the two.
"Sorry sir..." The two sulked.
Meanwhile Molly remained under the chute. She sniffled as she held back tears. She couldn't help it anymore.
Edward made her way over towards her. Workmen were already trying to clear the mess so that she could be taken to the works.
Edward desperately wanted to get her out of there. Somewhere more quiet and private so Molly could let her pent up emotions out. He knew it wasn't good for her to hold back.
Finally the workmen cleared a way for Edward to couple up to the yellow engine.
Edward moved the tired yellow GER D56 gently into the work shed. As they did so, Molly finally broke. She sobbed.
"Shhhhhhh let it all out sweetheart. I'm here. You're safe. I have you." Edward wheeshed steam and gently rocked her back and forth to calm his lover.
He gently soothed her until Molly was able to catch her breath and stop sobbing.
"Look at me..." Edward soothed.
Molly, breath still hitching, looked at her boyfriends' face.
Edward smiled softly. "You have such gorgeous eyes." He soothed.
He looked deep into his beloveds' eyes, still full of tears.
"You are very beautiful to me." He smiled softly.
Molly smiled softly as Edward continued to give her positive affirmations.
"You're beautiful like a sunflower. Bright, gentle, delicate, fragile..." Edward continued.
He kissed her cheek softly and he whispered "My fragile sunflower."
"Let's get you to the works. They'll help you to heal. And so too, will this." Edward soothed as his lips met hers in a sweet, gentle, deep kiss.
It was dark by the time they made it to the works. Victor, Victoria, and Kevin were cleaning up to finish their duties for the night. It was obvious Molly wasn't going anywhere at least until tomorrow, if not the day after. Victoria was the first to catch sight of the battered engine.
"¡Calderas burbujeantes! Cariño what happened to you?!" Victoria exclaimed.
Edward sighed. "The quarry twins. That's what happened."
"Those little rats! When will they ever learn?" Victoria exclaimed. She checked her over and determined what work needed to be done in the morning, for it was far too late to do anything today. For now, it was time to rest.
"Edward..." Molly said his name softly.
"Yes, my love?" Edward responded sweetly.
"Stay with me..." Molly said softly.
"Always..." Edward smiled back.
Molly was in and out of the works within 3 days, new coat of paint and all.
She would be needed at the quarry for one more day at least, but Edward would come with her for support.
She arrived to find Bill and Ben calmly before her.
"Hi mom!" Said Bill.
"Hi mom!" Followed Ben.
This was strange. Molly had never been referred to as a mother for anyone. In fact she didn't think it was possible. This made her smile. She glanced at Edward beside her, who smiled back at her.
"We got you sunflowers." Bill said.
Both of their crews emerged from their cabs and placed two large bouquets on her front running board.
Molly smiled. "Thank you..."
Edward smiled too before going back to his fatherly, somewhat stern look. "Now what do you two have to say?"
"We're sorry for treating you the way we did." The twins apologized.
"Apology accepted. Now let's get to work!" Molly proudly smiled.
And with that, this story ends. Thanks for reading!
