They say lighting doesn't strike twice and they were sure that was true. But somehow even after their high school breakup and staying in touch through college.
Brooke and Lucas's friendship remained solid and strong. As the friend group returned to Tree Hill. And began to build their new lives.
Brooke had her closing store Clothes over Bros. Lucas had moved back into his childhood home and was struggling with writer's block.
He had written one book in order to be seen as a serious writer he neeeded a body of work. He hoped returning to his home town would help but it hadn't yet.
He had fallen asleep at his laptop. Waking up to a blank screen. And frustration.

Brooke settled into her childhood home. Having bought it back from her parents. Being the girl behind the red door just felt meant to be. She was 23 had a successful fashion line. A store. Her friends.
But she felt this aching and longing for so much more.
"I want have a baby. I moved back to town to have a family." Brooke announced.
Lucas stared at her wide eyed after she had invited him over for brunch and conversation. The next day.
Lucas took a long drink from his cup.
"Are thinking of adopting or getting a donor?" Lucas asked.
"I haven't decided. I just know this is what drew me back and i have to make it happen." Brooke replied.
"I asked you over because i need to know what it was like for you to mainly grow up with Karen even though you had Keith." Brooke explained.

I had the best mom and having Keith in our life just added to it but mom is the reason i am who i am."
"If you're going to do this I know that child will be the luckiest in the world. Brooke Davis as a mom." Lucas proclaimed.
Brooke pulled him into a hug.
"Thank you i really needed to hear that." Brooke replied.
