Clasping her hands together other her stomach as both she and Alec faced all three Masters in the library, she couldn't contain her anxiety. Relationships weren't necessarily forbidden in the Volturi, but sometimes they interfered with their ability to do their duties as a fully functioning guard, and then that was when it became a serious issue for everyone, most especially the ancients.
Aro clasped his hands in front of his with a high, loud, tittering laugh. He pressed his hands together in front of him. "My dears! I never thought I would see the day when you two finally realised your affections for one another!" He cried, and Olivia gave a small smile, trying to downplay her nerves. "Does that mean you approve of us being together, Master?" She asked softly.
He gave a high laugh once more, glancing back at his brothers with a wide smile before he looked back at the duo who were waiting with baited breath, so to speak. He gave a resounding sigh that echoed around the room. "As if we would ever refuse a mating that would hold so much potential! I always do love a happy ending!"
The blonde from the chair behind him turned around with a scowl. "So long as it does not interfere with your duties, lest this dalliance end in a less than pleasant way than it began." He stated coldly before turning around, going back to reading his tome, flicking a page carelessly in his displeasure.
Aro sighed, turning back to the pair with a wide smile. "Alec, be a dear and fetch your sister and Demetri, would you? I have someone I would like you all to find. Felix is waiting to commence your defence training in the lower room as per usual, Olivia." He ordered and both nodded their heads, turning around at exactly the same moment and leaving the room together.
The raven haired leader pressed his hands together, touching the tips of his fingers to his lips. He sighed softly. "Such power and potential," he murmured, his words not being missed by the others at the long mahogany table behind him.
A cracking noise echoed around the marble room as she pulled herself from the routinely shattered marble wall. Marble dust fluttered to the ground as she brushed her hands down her arms, the scarred skin covered by a simple, long sleeved white blouse that was adorned with detailed white buttons, her slacks black and simple laced shoes adorning her feet, her regular training attire as it would seem.
The mammoth of a vampire grinned from across the room at her. "You would think you'd know how I attack by now, Olivia," he mocked and her ruby red eyes rolled back at him. "If you used the same strategy over and over again, perhaps I could, but you don't. You never attack the same way more than three times."
He hid his grin well at her response. "And your opponent will do the same in battle. That is, of course, should they let you live long enough to be attacked three separate times." He pointed out nochantly and she scowled. "I rarely fight hand to hand combat in battle anyways. The enemy is usually decimated by either Alec, Jane or myself from afar where we're all safe."
Felix nodded, tilting his head ever so slightly. "And what would happen if we came across someone who had an ability that could block out the collective gifts of the Volturi and our witnesses when we have them? What if they rendered yourself and the twins, in effect, useless in terms of your abilities? What would you do then?"
A sceptical look crossed her face. "Such an individual doesn't exist."
He raised a brow in return. "That we know of or that hasn't come into existence yet. You're only young in regards to our world, Olivia. Some of the beings we've come across have held powers beyond your imagination, a few on the Romanian and Russian covens sides, a few annihilated for their allegiance towards scum. But there any many gifted individuals out there." He warned lightly.
She was silent for a moment before she nodded. "How many extraordinarily gifted individuals do you believe to be in existence?" She asked inquisitively and he chuckled, a wide, open mouthed smirk drawing powerfully across his face. He pressed his hands together in front of him. "Many, but they remain undiscovered, some even unaware. Some individuals may be unnaturally lucky and those who follow them may share their good fortune, whilst other who don't receive nothing but hardship," he drawled, a knowing smirk. "It just takes a rather, traumatizingly motivating event to trigger that ability within them."
Olivia arched a brow. "You refer to the twins." She mused; it wasn't a question. She knew he did, and her suspicion was confirmed when his smirk widened. "I do. Their gifts manifested as the flames scorched their skin black. Jane, in her pain, focussed her emotions into anger and rage, wishing she could do harm to those who harmed her and Alec, and well, you know how her gift feels." He chuckled cruelly with a dry smirk. He chuckled again. "Alec was the opposite. He fought to escape the pain, to dull his senses somewhat, and hence his gift to dull the senses was formed. It doesn't take much, Olivia. You clung to the shadows and the darkness throughout your human life. It too, bonded with you and you did to it. It chose to gift you with mastery over it. A child who is the shining light in everyone's lives and repels the darkness in them might be gifted with the ability to master light, your one true opponent." He mused.
"Someone who could master light would be a true opponent," she jeered, "lest I snuff them out like a weak flame."
He smirked widely, his hands dropping to his sides as he rolled into a crouch, her body reacting into a similar stance instinctively. "Not unless you master the art of being able to defend yourself without relying on your ability." He snarled, his body blurring forward and a shattering noise of marble and pottery soon following.
