1 year before Ultron and Sokovia
She was having a panic attack like no other.
She couldn't breathe.
Everyone around her panicked as they tried to calm her down.
Holly Potter, the Girl Who Lived, The Woman Who Conquered, The Leader Of The Light hated her life as everything was now worse for her. After almost 12 years of no war and no Voldemort, there were still people chasing after her wanting her autograph or to ask her questions. Though there were a group of people who believed that Holly would be the next Dark Lady, but how could she do that when she has a muggle job. Well its not really a job per se, Holly writes really popular "fictional" books about the Marauders with the names and locations changed of course.
She even had the help of her grandparents Fleamont and Euphemia Potter, Professor Minerva McGonagall, Marlene McKinnon, Remus Lupin and Sirius Black. Though Mary Macdonald gave some very funny and lucrative tidbits about the foursome that no one knew or wanted out there. Then Holly did a book series about her own school years once she was finished with the first series, but this time, she made her father survive the attack. She wrote all of these books all at once and when she got a publisher who wanted to print the books, she waited a couple of years after the first one when her fans wanted more and then it was once a year.
After the last book for her series was about to be published, she started writing real fictional books about the same world, but with some in the past and some in the future. She even got a TV show deal for her books which she was really excited about as she thought it was better then a movie deal. The people who wanted to do the TV show wanted to put as much detail from the books as they could into each episode. And as she was technically apart of the writing team and set design, she got a good chunk of change from the TV show.
Without the TV show Holly made millions just off of the book sales and all of the things that she started making and licensed for her books. The production company for the TV show was okay with this as they were not really in the business of making merchandise for shows. She gave Remus the job of managing her toy shop as he and Sirius started calling it as there was still the fear of werewolves in the wizard world. There was a muggle born from the year below Holly who was managing the online and owl order sales as there were people from different countries who loved her books.
She has a catalog for the wizarding communities as many of them still despise technology and anything to do with it.
Now back to why Holly is having a real bad panic attack.
Holly went to Diagon Alley for the first time in 9 years and people ran to her and talked over each other just for an autograph, a photo or a question. Holly then aperated out of there as fast as she could before she lashed out and hurt someone and she didn't need the people who said she was dark to be proven right.
"Holly look at me." Fleamont Potter said as he knelt down to his granddaughter level.
Holly looked to her grandfather with fear in her tired and worn emerald green eyes.
"There you go. That's good. Now take a deep breath in." Fleamont said
Holly did what she was told and took a deep breath with all her shaky might.
"Now release it."
Holly exhaled her breath and she felt her stress drop from her shoulders and begin to feel better.
"Feel better? Or do we need to do it again?" Fleamont asked
"I feel a bit better." Holly said
"Now your grandmother and I have been thinking that you should take a vacation to see that friend of yours in America." Fleamont said
Holly then turned her mind to her friend Clint Barton, she had known him since 1996 when she had just turned 16 and he was 19 and just gotten his job at SHIELD. When they had met Clint had gotten himself injured on his very first mission and Holly found him and healed him with her magic. Clint was very grateful for this healing and they continued to have regular contact with each other after that first meeting. Holly was even at Clints wedding to Laura and is the godmother to his son Cooper as he was born literally 2 months before he met Natasha.
Cooper was actually the reason why Laura and Clint had gotten married as Laura was 3 months pregnant by the time she waled down the aisle. But that was not the only thing that connected Holly to the Barton's, since Holly is Bisexual, she is basically in a Friends With Benefits thing with both Laura and Clint. But to them Holly is their girlfriend and Clint uses that as his cover all of the time as he doesn't want Laura dragged into the SHIELD mess. Though Holly and Clint started their Friends With Benefits thing long before Clint had met Laura which resulted in Holly and Clint having a child together in January of 2002.
The kid is named James Clinton Potter-Barton named after Holly's father and using the tradition of using the fathers first name as the middle. Laura knew about James as Clint was completely honest with her about how it happened and she is a good stepmother to him. James is starting his first year at Hogwarts this coming September because of the birthday cut off for which year he goes into. If a child is born on September 2nd, they would have to go into the year after the people who may be born September 1st and before.
"Are you sure?" Holly asked
Holly knew that if Clint agreed to host her while he is at Avengers Tower, he will tell them that she is his girlfriend.
"I think it's a good idea to get away." Fleamont said
"But Jamie?" Holly said
James is such a mama's boy and since he is her only child, she has a right to worry.
"Your grandmother and I will look after James till you get back to see him off." Fleamont said knowing that his granddaughter may run off to America once the train had left the station.
Holly nodded knowing because he is a wizard and can live to 200, a muggle stress test would put him at mid to late 50's even though he is almost one hundred years old. Fleamont was in British intelligence in World War 2 and was supplying the Howling commandos with their info for their missions. And because of this fact, Holly had grown up with stories about the famous Captain America aka Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes and their amazing team. Then Holly got onto her feet so she could give Clint a call and see if she could come for a visit before she had a full mental breakdown.
"Hello?" Clint's tired voice came over the phone speaker once the archer answered.
It was evident by Clint's voice that Stark had another party and Clint got waisted because of the stressful job he has and had a hangover that Holly was all too familiar with. Holly had countless nights from her 5th to her 7th years with all the alcohol they snuck into the common room.
"Hey Clint, I need your help." Holly said
"With James?" Clint asked as his voice immediately perking up with concern at what his friend had just said.
And like any good father would, Clint cared more about his child than Holly.
"James is fine." Holly said
"With what then?" Clint asked
"I went to Diagon Alley today." Holly said
"No no no. We agreed that you'd never go there again." Clint said
The agreement was why Holly only goes to Hogsmead and took James there to get his books and Fleamont taking James to Diagon to get his robes alone.
"Well, I did and I had a mental breakdown. And my grandfather said it would probably be a good idea if I went to see you in America." Holly said
"Of course you can come here. Hell, I'll even pick you up in the Quinjet." Clint said
"Thank you Clint." Holly said
"Its no problem. I'll see you tomorrow as I need to do some things to get the jet ready." Clint said
"Okay." Holly said
"I may have to warn you, that I'm staying with the Avengers right now and that's where you'll be staying as well. Though you could aperate to see Laura if you wanted." Clint said
Clint knew of the aperation as he had experienced it himself before.
"That's fine by me. Bye Clint." Holly said before hanging up the phone.
Holly then went into her walk in closet to pack her things for her trip so she could be ready to just hop onto the jet and go the next day. When Holly went to have dinner with her grandparents they noticed that their granddaughter was happier than when she went into her room 3 hours before.
"Have a good chat with Clint?" Euphemia asked
"Yep. I'm even going to meet the Avengers when I go to visit him." Holly said happily
Outside of the small town that the Bartons live in, Holly is really the only who knows about them and regularly meets up with Laura, Cooper and Lila.
"When are you leaving for New York?" Fleamont asked knowing that the Avengers HQ is in New York on the top few floors of Stark Tower like everyone else in the world.
"Clint is picking me up in the Avengers jet tomorrow." Holly said
"You better send up pictures from your trip dear." Euphemia said
"Yes grandmother." Holly replied
Holly and Euphemia had a strained relationship as Euphemia was strict with her granddaughter and Holly hated that and wanted to be free.
"What about souvenirs?" James asked his mother
James only asked this of his mother as whenever his parents go somewhere new, either for book tours or SHIELD, they bring back souvenirs for him. But he hadn't gotten anything New York yet as the last time his father was there for more than 5 minutes, there was an alien invasion happening and souvenirs were the last thing on Clint's mind. James understood that as his father was busy trying to save people and then getting looked after by SHIELD medical afterwards.
"I'll find something that you may like." Holly said

By noon Holly had everything she was taking, packed by the front door and James was hugging his mother tightly not letting her go. James wanted to meet the avengers, but he knew with his father's job, it would be near impossible as he had Barton on his name. There was also the fact that James looks exactly like his father did at that age and every one of the avengers had seen pictures of the archer at that age.
"I don't want you to go mama." James said
"But I have to baby. If I want to be a good mother to you, I have to go bother your father for a while." Holly said as she brushed James's hair with her fingers.
"Will you be back in time to see me off on the Hogwarts Express?" James asked
"Of course I will baby. I wouldn't miss that for the world." Holly said
Holly made a vow that if she ever had at least one child, she would be there for them during the most important events in their life. And even though James wanted his mother to take him robe and wand shopping last month, he knew that it wouldn't happen if people wouldn't leave her alone. Soon James and Holly heard the whorl of the jet powering down as it landed and they went to go see Clint to say hello and such. When James saw his father coming out of the jet, he smiled and ran right up to him to give the older man a hug like he usually does.
"Dad!" James said happily as he ran into his fathers arms
"Hey buddy." Clint said as he hugged his son
"I've missed you dad." James said
"I've missed you as well bud." Clint said
Clint soon locked eyes with Holly and his heart melted with so many different emotions that he couldn't handle it all. When Holly said that she was pregnant with James, Clint tried to marry her like he had done with Laura when she said that she was pregnant with Cooper. At the time Holly said that she did not believe in marriage as she thought that it was just a piece of paper and a big waste of a party. She thought that if a person wanted a party, they would wait for a birthday, a holiday or a weekend or if you were rich and had nothing to do, a weekday.
But the wizarding world doesn't dare call James a bastard they would the others as they knew if they did, they would lose Holly fully. And there is the fact that Holly would make sure that James went to one of the 3 American schools in New York, Massachusetts and California and not Hogwarts. But now, she is having second thoughts as she spends time with Laura and Clint or Remus and Dora or her grandparents.
"Hi Holly." Clint said
"Hi Clint." Holly said
"Feeling any better?" Clint asked
"A lot since you're here." Holly said
Clint knew that he was Holly's emotional support person and he would do anything to make her feel better from the dangers of her mind. When Clint got himself detangled from his son, he walked over to Holly to give her the hug that she needed and deserved. Holly relaxed when she felt Clint's arms wrap around her like a protective cocoon that really helped her right now. Clint felt Holly relax in his arms and this made him happier than he was before now.
"Ready to go?" Clint asked
"As soon as I get my things on the jet." Holly said
"Then lets get them. Come on James." Clint said
Clint and James grabbed all of Holly's bags that were by the front door like good gentlemen in Holly's life would do. After all the bags were on the jet, Holly said goodbye to James once again before she got onto the jet and took off. Holly was sad that she was leaving behind her child, but she needed to so there wouldn't be any questions and she could heal.
"Holly, you good?" Clint asked
"I'm a little sad that we couldn't bring James with us." Holly said
"I know, but for you to heal, you can't be bombarded with questions on why we have a kid together." Clint said
"I know. It's for the best." Holly said
