A/N: Hey I wrote this years ago, I'm re-vamping my fanfiction due to things being abandoned and things that were literally written 15 years ago and I have decided to re-write and edit some of my favorite works before posting new ones.
Jayne and River were the only two crew members that were on the Serenity. Simon and Kaylee had went out on a actual date; those were few and far between, due to all the time they spent in the black or doing jobs.
Mal and Inara were testing the waters with one another; she had left the guild as a Companion and was strictly consul now and Mal was pleased with this, of course, he would never admit it to her, but it was nice to take her out and see if things could get off the ground there.
Zoe was the reason for this little rest and relaxation moment, they were on the planet that Wash was from and she was visiting with his parents and siblings and they would be staying here for the next few weeks as they awaited the arrival of their newest crew member, Alleyne Book Washburne, a beautiful parting gift from her whacky pilot, Wash.
River had wanted to stay on the ship, ever since the Miranda wave being planet side other than to run a job made the, now young woman anxious, and Jayne had volunteered to stay and watch the little Moonbrain.
Jayne was alone in his bunk, restless. All the big mercenary could think about was a dark haired, doe eyed girl with dancers' legs and one hell of a right hook. He wasn't sure when he had quit hating her, he knew when they had became partners. It was the first job that they had been on together and she had whirled into him like a small torpedo, but dammit if she didn't save him taking a bullet straight to the chest.
And he knew when their friendship had started; it had started the evening of the day that she saved his life. They had went to a bar and she had gotten drunk for the first time and he had to carry her little ninety pound butt back to the ship and when her pigu tong of a brother was threatening his life, the little thing promptly puked on his shoes and told him to shut up that she was a gorram grown ass woman and would drink when she wanted to and that she could also kill him with her brain. But right now he was curious as to when he came to love her.
In the last few weeks something in their dynamic had changed. They had began flirting. At meal times she would walk by and before taking her seat at his right side she would playfully ruffle his hair and he, in return, would give her one of his rare genuine smiles.
They had came to a understanding that she needed to touch someone that had a steady mind and the only two people on that whole gorram boat that were steady was him and Zoe, and she felt randomly touching Zoe would make the stoic woman a might uncomfortable. She needed the touch to keep her grounded in reality and it made his hardened heart a little bit softer that he could do that for her.
Of course the women and her san se jin of a brother had noticed. Mal, as per the usual was blind but to be fair to Captain Tight Pants the only thing he could really see was the beautiful woman that he had been in love with longer than he even realized or if he even realized it now. But Simon had told Mal that River was safe with Jayne and that if it came down to it she could take him out with her pinky; so they had left her on the ship with her partner.
Jayne heard a soft knock on his bunk door and he figured it was late in the night and that another terrible night terror had woken River. She would often come to him over the others when these things happened. He was steady and calm. The others either wanted to fix the issue or give her a soother to calm her and what she needed was to be able to work through these things and talk them out.
She had told him all the unspeakable evils that the alliance had done to her mind, body and even her soul. It sickened him to his core, the things that these monsters did to her when she was just a little girl were beyond understanding; it made him red with anger.
"Come in, little darlin." Jayne called lazily. River with a dancer's grace descended down the ladder into his bunk; his private space that he had not allowed anyone else on the ship in. "She can feel your lust for her." She said not quite meeting his eyes. "Xiao baleiwu yanyuan, it ain't lust ya feeling girl." he said in a heated tone.
The gruff man twice her age leaned over and cupped her check and pulled her to him and kissed her. It had been at least a decade since he had felt a woman's lips on his. The kiss was unsure at first; it being her first but soon a gentle rhythm was found and the kiss deepened. Then his hand not on her face tangled in her curly chocolate locks. "Wo ai ni shouu zhanshi." She breathed out as the kiss ended. "Darlin I love ya too."
Jayne pulled her to him possivsivlly. "They ain't no one on this gorram boat and if yer ready, I'll take ya to the black without ever leaving the ground. He growled as he nipped at her bottom lip. She let out the smallest moan. "Yes please Wolf make me a woman." "Ni hen wanmei" Jayne said as he claimed her lips.
River had never felt anything so intense, not even Miranda had sent her nerves on edge the way his kiss did. She was in ecstasy.
gorram boat and I'm about ta make ya feel wonderful." He growled as he nipped her neck. Sensations that had never been known to River flooded her body. She sighed and let out a soft moan.
River and Jayne made love all night. He had never felt this with any other woman. She was his all his and he was hers unto death. She had never known love like this or felt anything like this. It felt so right.
