Marinette/LadybugPOV:
I fell to my knees, panting heavily. I heard a crack. I screamed. Everything around me was extremely blurry. I felt like I was gonna pass out, but I managed to keep myself awake. Never in my life did I imagine running away from teenage boys would be so difficult. I had defeated hundreds of villains and yet I couldn't fight off adolescent boys.
I felt a sharp pain on my nose and touched it. Blood was pouring faster than a cheetah could run. My eye was bruised purple, and my leg was in an odd position which told me it was broken. I didn't know what to do. I was supposed to be meeting Adrien for our date in fifteen minutes and if he saw me like this he would get worried, and that was the last thing I wanted. This is the third time I have canceled this week, due to akumas. I did not want to cancel another date. But I didn't see how I could hide this.
I thought about my options. I could tell Adrien the truth, worry him, but have him know what is going on and be a good girlfriend, or I could call Alya and she could save the entire situation and I wouldn't have to worry Adrien. I decided to call Alya. I wasn't in the mood to tell Adrien. At least not yet. I realized I would eventually have to with the broken leg. But I wanted to wait a little while. He has enough on his plate right now with his father's death. I don't need him to worry about anything else.
I reached in my back pocket and took out my phone Adrien had bought me last week. When I saw the screen I immediately panicked. The entire screen was cracked. I attempted to turn it on but it was no use. It had gotten broken in the fight. I could feel tears cascading down my face. How am I supposed to explain the broken phone to Adrien?
Adrien/ Chat noir:
I finished unbuttoning my suit. I was determined to make this the best date possible since we have had to cancel our last three dates. Sometimes I wish I could tell Marinette I am Chat noir but I can't because it is too risky. Even though Monarch is defeated doesn't mean there aren't others out there trying to harm paris and I love Marinette too much to put her in danger like that. Or worry her.
I reached out for my brush, all morning I have tried to make my hair perfect but everytime this one strand would poke up. After five minutes I gave up. I threw the brush in anger. Behind me I heard a gentle knock in the door. I turned my head. It was Nathalie.
"Need some help?" She asked. I could tell she wanted to burst out laughing. That made me smile a little. She had never been this relaxed before. Before the incident. Suddenly my smile faltered. My dad had always been controlling and demanding. And had also tried to end my relationship with Marinette but I stil miss him. He was my only parent left and now I am an orphan. But it has been easier with my friends and ofc my girlfriend. Just thinking of Marinette makes me happy. Her beautiful hair and glistening eyes always enlighten me. She has such a soothing touch. Every time she hugs me I feel like I am falling in heaven. Plagg loves to compare it to chamonbare. That's when I start keeping my thoughts to myself. I do not want to compare my Marinette to stinky cheese. Sometimes I wonder if Plagg does this to make me annoyed. Probably.
Suddenly I was brought out of my thoughts when Nathalie wave her hand in my face. "Earth to Adrien, Earth to Adrien." I shook my head.
"Sorry."
Nathalie started to fix my hair in about ten seconds it was fixed.
"There. Finished."
"Thanks."
"Yea now get to your date. Your bodyguard will take you to Marinette's house.
"Thank you."
She nodded and shooed me away.
I ran down the stairs and all the hallways. I opened the front door and hustled into the car.
As soon as Gorilla parked I opened the door and got out. I walked into the Dupin-Cheing bakery. I walked to the front counter where Marinette's parents were. When they saw me they smiled brightly.
"I am here to pick up Marinette." I said, casually.
"I'll get her." The mother said, excitedly. She practically ran up the stairs. I could here her banging on the door. After a few moments she came back down but Marinette wasn't with her.
"Where is Marinette?" I asked.
"I don't know." She said shakily. My eyes widened. I started running ip the stairs and threw the trapdoor open to her room. But there was no Marinette inside. I started to worry. Where was she?
I climbed up into her balcony to see if she was up there. Nothing. I ran down the stairs, out of her room, and left the bakery. I ran to a nearby alleyway to transform into Chat noir. But before I did I saw a figure on the ground.
Marinette.
