It was another night where the cold bit harder than the wind. Six-year-old Naruto Uzumaki sat on the rooftop of a crumbling building, hugging his knees tightly to his chest. The stars were distant pinpricks in the sky, twinkling just beyond his reach. He wondered, not for the first time if anyone would notice if he disappeared.
No one did so far.
The whispers. The stares. The way people pulled their children away from him in the street as if he carried some invisible disease. For so long, he hadn't understood the reason. Until now.
A week ago, Naruto had woken up with a strange ability—a heavyweight in his chest that seemed to tug toward every person he encountered. With it came a flood of sensations he couldn't understand. Fear. Hatred. Contempt. They filled the streets of Konoha like a thick fog, suffocating and pressing down on him whenever he passed anyone.
It was the kind of hatred that clung to him, like mud that wouldn't wash off no matter how much he scrubbed.
"Demon," someone had whispered when they thought he couldn't hear. The emotions that followed stung more than the words—rage, disgust, and fear, twisted together like barbed wire.
Naruto didn't know what he had done to deserve it. But if everyone in the village hated him... maybe they were right. Maybe he was broken.
He sat on the edge of the building, dangling his feet into the darkness below. The wind stirred his blonde hair, carrying distant voices of people enjoying their night. He imagined stepping off. Just letting himself fall. Would it hurt, he wondered? Or would it finally make the ache stop?
He squeezed his eyes shut and leaned forward slightly.
"Oi. What do you think you're doing?"
Naruto gasped and jerked back. A hand caught him by the shoulder before he could slip. It wasn't rough, but steady—anchoring. He turned to see a boy crouched next to him, his eyes glowing with kindness... and something far deeper.
The boy had messy black hair and wore a standard Konoha vest, though his most striking feature was the deep crimson hue of his Sharingan. Despite his powerful gaze, the emotions Naruto sensed from him were... gentle. Concerned.
"Who... who are you?" Naruto asked, his voice hoarse.
The boy smiled faintly, though it didn't reach his eyes. "Shisui. Shisui Uchiha. And you're Naruto, right?"
Naruto nodded slowly, eyes wide and wary. Shisui let go of his shoulder but stayed seated beside him as if he were settling in for the night.
"You've got a lot of people making your life hard, huh?" Shisui said, voice quiet but calm. "I can feel it too. It's tough, right? Like it's too heavy to carry."
Naruto's lips trembled. "It hurts. So much... I just want it to stop."
Shisui was silent for a moment, his gaze distant as if searching for the right words. "I know how that feels," he said finally. "When the people you want to protect the most are the ones who hurt you."
Naruto looked up at him, surprised by the sincerity in his voice. For the first time in what felt like forever, he didn't sense hatred. Not from Shisui.
"I'm not going to let you jump, kid," Shisui said, his tone firm. "I'll train you. I'll make sure you become a shinobi strong enough that no one can push you around."
"Why?" Naruto whispered. "Why would you help me?"
Shisui smiled again, this time softer. "Because you're not the only one who needs a friend right now."
Naruto felt something unfamiliar welling inside him—a flicker of warmth and hope. It was small, but it was there.
And for the first time in a long time, he leaned away from the edge.
Three Years later
The sun hangs low on the horizon, casting long shadows across a remote field deep within Konoha's forests. The air hums with tension as Shisui Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki stand facing each other. Their training has pushed Naruto far beyond his limits over the past three years, moulding him into a far more competent shinobi—disciplined, fast, and highly strategic.
This isn't the same Naruto Shisui met as a reckless child. And today, it's time to see just how far he's come.
Shisui rolls his shoulders, the corner of his mouth lifting into a grin. "Alright, Naruto. Show me what you've got. Don't hold back."
Naruto smirks, raising his fists. "You asked for it."
In the blink of an eye, Naruto moves first. Body Flicker Jutsu propels him forward at incredible speed, his figure becoming a blur. A gust of wind follows in his wake as he appears at Shisui's side with a spinning kick aimed at his ribs.
Shisui, with his Sharingan already active, easily reads the attack. He ducks low, countering with a quick jab toward Naruto's stomach. But Naruto anticipated this—he twisted mid-kick, using the momentum to drive a second kick upward toward Shisui's chin.
Shisui's eyes widen slightly, surprised by the unorthodox movement. He backflips just in time, narrowly avoiding the strike.
Shisui Smirked "Not bad. You've gotten faster."
Naruto grins, landing gracefully. "Faster than you thought, huh?"
Shisui moves to counter with his own Body Flicker, disappearing into a blur of movement. But Naruto's Mind's Eye of Kagura kicks in, sensing Shisui's position immediately. The moment Shisui reappears behind him, Naruto spins with Gale Palm, sending a burst of wind crashing toward his opponent.
The force knocks Shisui off-balance for a moment, and Naruto uses the opportunity to leap into the air, throwing a flurry of shadow shuriken enhanced with Wind Release. The wind-infused projectiles whistle through the air, creating sharp afterimages as they fan out toward Shisui from multiple angles.
Shisui's Sharingan gleams, reading the trajectory of each shuriken. He deflects some with a kunai, but his eyes narrow as he notices something unusual—the shuriken isn't flying in a straight line. The Wind Release subtly alters their paths mid-flight, curving them toward him from unexpected angles.
Shisui grinned "Clever, Naruto."
With lightning-fast reflexes, Shisui activates Body Flicker again, narrowly dodging the last shuriken as it grazes his shoulder.
As Shisui lands, Naruto is already upon him, appearing in front of him in an instant with another Body Flicker Jutsu. This time, Naruto's fists blur as he launches a rapid barrage of wind-enhanced punches and kicks.
Shisui dodges and counters with precise strikes, the two shinobi locked in a high-speed dance of taijutsu. Naruto's wind-enhanced strikes add power to every movement, and Shisui finds himself pressed harder than he expected.
Shisui sweeps low to trip Naruto, but Naruto leaps into the air, twisting mid-flight. "Gale Kick!" he shouts, sending a wave of wind downward with a powerful kick. The wind pressure forces Shisui to backpedal, giving Naruto the advantage.
Recognizing Naruto's improvement, Shisui decides to push harder. With a smirk, he taps into his mastery of Body Flicker, vanishing from sight entirely. For a moment, Naruto's Mind's Eye of Kagura struggles to keep up—Shisui's movements are almost too fast to track.
Then, in a flash, Shisui reappears at Naruto's side, aiming a sharp elbow toward his ribs. But Naruto is ready. He twists mid-motion, using Body Flicker to evade the blow and counter with a powerful palm strike to Shisui's chest, enhanced by wind pressure.
The strike lands, and Shisui skids backwards, his feet digging into the dirt.
Shisui Laughed "You've come a long way, Naruto. I didn't think you'd push me this far."
Naruto lands, breathing steadily but grinning. "You told me to give it everything I've got. So don't hold back, Shisui-sensei."
Naruto's Wind Release: Shadow Shuriken Finale
Naruto claps his hands together, summoning two shadow clones that leap into the air on either side of him. Each clone throws a Shuriken, infused with Wind Release, creating an overwhelming storm of projectiles.
Shisui's Sharingan gleams as he prepares to counter, but this time, Naruto takes it one step further—the real Naruto slips between the projectiles using Body Flicker, masked by the storm of shuriken. He appears behind Shisui with a wind-infused fist aiming to punch his Sensei.
Shisui's eyes widen—there's no time to dodge.
"Got you!" Naruto shouts, slamming the wind-enhanced punch toward Shisui's back.
But just before the blow makes contact, Shisui disappears in a blur, using Body Flicker with perfect timing. He reappears several meters away, chuckling as Naruto's Gale's punch fizzles out in his hand.
"Almost. But not quite." Shisui said with a grin
Naruto smirks, panting but exhilarated. "I'll get you next time."
Shisui nods, impressed. "You've mastered everything I taught you—and then some. Your control over Wind Release is remarkable, and you've made Body Flicker your technique."
He walks over to Naruto, placing a hand on his shoulder. "But remember, speed alone isn't enough. You have to be able to predict your opponent's movements and stay one step ahead—always."
Naruto wipes the sweat from his brow, a satisfied grin on his face. "I know. I've still got a lot to learn. But thanks to you, I'm getting there."
Shisui smiles warmly. "You're already better than most shinobi your age, Naruto. And if you keep pushing yourself, you'll surpass even me one day."
Naruto's grin widens. "I'll hold you to that."
The two stand together in the fading light, the bond between them stronger than ever. Naruto has grown not only in skill but also in confidence—and with Shisui's training, he's on the path to becoming a truly formidable shinobi.
A member of the Anbu broke through Naruto and Shisui's tranquillity as he appeared behind using the body flicker and said something to the dark-haired Jonin.
Shisui waved Goodbye to his student. "See you later Naruto.
"Yeah, see you later." Naruto watched as the Anbu member disappeared with Shisui he couldn't sense any Emotion from the member of the Anbu. It was his first experience not sensing any emotions from a Person but shrugs. "Shisui is unbeatable anyway its pointless to worry."
Unbeknownst to Naruto that was the last time he saw Shisui.
...
The moonlight filters through the Canopy of trees, Casting silver beams across the Forest floors. Naruto sits on a fallen log, Staring at the stars above, lost in thought. Three years and Shisui's death still lingered in his mind, a dull ache that never goes away. Naruto pondered to no end what would make Shisui kill himself. He knew there was something deeper going on behind the scenes but could not seem to understand what it was.
The lessons, the laughter, and the hard-training Shisui voice feel like a distant echo now but still with him urging him to move forward.
Suddenly a familiar voice breaks the silence behind him.
"Hey, Naruto. There you are." Mizuki said.
Naruto tilts his Head slightly but doesn't turn around already sensing Mizuki. Thanks to Shisui's' influence, Naruto knows better than to trust the man.
Mizuki steps closer, wearing an Exaggerated smile. "How would you like to prove yourself to the village? I know a way to help you get recognized and pass the Academy graduation exam simultaneously. All you have to do is steal the Scroll of seals for me.
Naruto's blue eyes Narrowed but Mizuki couldn't see it. "The scroll of seals, huh? Sounds dangerous."
Mizuki chuckles for a little bit. "You're strong, Naruto. You can handle it. And once you deliver it to me the village will have no choice but to see how talented you are."
Naruto suppressed a grin. He knows m Mizuki is lying and does not need a backdoor method to pass the exams. But instead of calling him out immediately, Naruto plays along, After all, he could learn something from the scroll and a chance to Discern Mizuki's true intentions.
Naruto Feigning excitement. "You're right! I'll show everyone how awesome I am. Just wait here I will get the scroll."
...
In a blur of motion, Naruto uses the body flicker technique, disappearing into the night and reappearing near the Hokage's tower. The mind's eye of Kagura allows him to sense the Anbu patrolling the area, their chakra signatures flickering like lights in the dark. He darts between shadows, using wind-enhanced footwork to remain silent and undetected.
It didn't take long for him to slip past the guards and find the scroll of seals in a hidden compartment. He unrolls it briefly, his eyes scanning the Jutsus written inside. One technique caught his attention—the multi-shadow clone jutsu an improvement on the plain clone technique.
Naruto believed true strength doesn't come from numbers. It sterns from speed and precision.
But the technique seemed useful, so he learned it.
He rolls the scroll back up and disappears with another body-Flicker, returning to the forest.
...
Mizuki is waiting, leaning casually against a tree. His eyes glint when he sees Naruto holding the Scroll of Seals. "Good job, Naruto. Now hand it over."
Naruto tilts his head. A mischievous grin spread across his face. "I thought you'd be more creative, Mizuki-Sensei. Did you think I wouldn't know you were lying?"
Mizuki's smile drops, replaced by a sneer. "You little brat. You knew the whole time, didn't you?"
Naruto shrugs. "Yeah, I wanted to see what would happen."
Mizuki's expression twists with anger. "You think this is funny? You are just a worthless orphan. The only reason they keep you around is because you're the Nine-tails host."
The words hit Naruto like a Hammer, and for a moment, Naruto's heart stops. He knew there was something about him that made the villagers hate him, but he never understood why—until now.
"You're the Kyuubi, Naruto! The same beast that destroyed the village years ago. You'll never be anything more than a monster." Mizuki pressed.
Naruto's fist clenched, but instead of despair, resolve fills his heart. Shisui's voice echoed in his mind. 'No one gets to decide who you are, not the village. Not anyone you must Choose your path.'
Naruto takes a deep breath, his expression Hardening. "I'm not the Kyuubi. I'm Uzumaki Naruto and I am going to show you."
Mizuki snarls, drawing a pair of Giant Shuriken from his back. "I'll kill you right there, You Demon brat!"
He hurls both Shuriken at Naruto with deadly precision, But Naruto's Body-flicker jutsu kicks in, his form blurring out of sight just as the weapons pass through where he is standing.
Mizuki scanned the area. "Where did you—?"
Before he could finish Naruto reappeared behind him with a gust of wind at his heels. Mizuki spins, trying to react But Naruto's movements are too fast.
"Gale palm!" Naruto Shouts, slamming his palms forward. A powerful burst of wind crashes into Mizuki, Sending him flying into a tree with a thud.
Mizuki groans, struggling to stand, but Naruto isn't done yet. He forms a sequence of Hand seals, Summoning several wind-enhanced shurikens that hum the air with deadly precision.
Mizuki barely managed to dodge, but as he moved, Naruto's shuriken curved mid-flight, Guided by the wind chakra infused in them. One shuriken sliced Mizuki's shoulder, making him stumble.
Mizuki glares at Naruto, Clutching his wounded shoulder. "Damn you... you're just a kid! How—?"
Naruto smirks his blue eyes sharp and Confident. "You thought you could trick me because I used to be a weak, Desperate, attention-seeking boy. But I'm not the same kid you remember."
Before Mizuki could react, Naruto disappeared with the body flicker reappearing right in front of him. He twists his body, delivering a wind-enhanced spinning kick that connects with Mizuki's jaw sending him crashing to the ground.
Mizuki lies in a Heap, groaning in pain. He tries to get back up but Naruto is already standing above him over him, his fists raised.
"I've trained too hard, lost too much and come too far to let someone like you decide who I am."
Mizuki coughs, glaring up at him. "Do you think you'll ever be accepted? You are just a Demon wearing a kid's face..."
Naruto lowers his fists but keeps his gaze steady. "Maybe. But I won't let that stop me."
With a final burst of Gale's palm, Naruto knocks Mizuki out cold. The traitor slumps to the ground, Unconscious.
A part of him still ached from what Mizuki said—the truth about the Kyuubi. But instead of despair, Naruto feels a sense of peace.
Shisui words echoed in his mind one more. 'you're Uzumaki Naruto, and that's enough.'
Naruto takes a deep breath, feeling the wind swirl around him. He isn't the Kyuubi. He isn't a monster. He's Naruto a shinobi of Konoha. And he's just getting started.
With a final glance at Mizuki, Naruto vanishes into the night with a flicker of wind heading back into the village, his heart lighter, his resolve stronger than ever.
