Chapter 2

As the ship docked, Serena stepped off onto the cobbled path of Germanium Village, her heart pounding with anticipation and worry. She scanned the quaint houses and shops, hoping that Ash was somewhere nearby. Pikachu sat perched on her shoulder, his ears twitching as he took in the unfamiliar surroundings, while Sylveon trotted along by her side, staying close to her in quiet support.

"Alright, let's ask around and see if anyone has seen Ash," she murmured, more to herself than to her Pokémon. Pikachu gave a soft cry of agreement, determination in his eyes. They had been searching tirelessly, and now, at last, they felt close.

As Serena turned to approach a passerby, the door to a nearby building swung open, and a familiar figure stepped out. Serena's breath caught in her throat as she recognized him immediately. "Ash!" she called, her voice brimming with relief and joy. Pikachu jumped off her shoulder and raced toward him, his cheerful cries filling the air.

Ash looked up at the sound of his name, surprised to see a girl and her Pokémon rushing toward him. He watched as Pikachu bounded up and nuzzled his leg affectionately, his soft cheeks sparking lightly with joy. Serena stopped in front of him, smiling, her eyes glistening with tears. "Ash… I can't believe it's really you!"

But Ash's expression remained blank, a hint of confusion flickering in his eyes. "Uh… sorry, but… who are you?"

Serena's smile faltered, her heart sinking. "What are you talking about, Ash? It's me… Serena. Don't you remember?"

Ash shook his head slowly, glancing down at Pikachu, who was looking up at him with wide, hopeful eyes. "I… I only know my name is Ash," he explained hesitantly, rubbing the back of his head. "I don't remember anything else. I just found out today. The professor said it might be amnesia."

The color drained from Serena's face as she took in his words. She felt like she'd been struck by a sudden, icy blow. "You… you don't remember… anything?" she whispered, her voice shaky.

Ash shook his head again, unable to meet her gaze. "I'm sorry, I really don't," he replied, his voice tinged with regret.

Serena's heart shattered as she absorbed Ash's words, her smile fading as she struggled to hold back the pain surfacing in her chest. Pikachu gazed up at Ash with worried eyes, sensing Serena's turmoil and confusion in the face of the boy who had once been his closest friend.

Ash hesitated, noticing the sadness in her expression. "I… I'm sorry," he murmured, feeling uncertain. "Can you tell me who you are?"

Taking a steadying breath, Serena answered patiently, her voice soft but unwavering. "My name is Serena," she began, fighting back the tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm… I'm your girlfriend, Ash. We've known each other for a long time."

Ash looked at her in surprise, his brows knitting together as he processed her words.

Serena glanced at Pikachu, who stood at her side. "And Pikachu," she continued, gesturing gently to the loyal Pokémon, "he's your first Pokémon, your partner from the very beginning. You two have been through so much together."

Ash looked down at Pikachu, who gazed back at him with an unbreakable loyalty and warmth, and yet, the memories didn't come. He felt a pang of regret for not remembering them.

"Your home is in the Kanto region," Serena went on, her voice trembling. "One day… you just disappeared. Your mom's been so worried." She swallowed, her voice faltering. "You left without anything, and Professor Oak believed you might have been abducted."

Serena's voice finally broke, and she brushed at her eyes, which had filled with tears she couldn't hold back any longer. "I searched for you for days, and finally… finally, I found you." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "Only… to find that you don't remember me. Or us."

Ash's heart clenched, guilt pressing in on him as he saw the pain he'd unknowingly caused. He reached out awkwardly, his voice soft with sincerity. "I'm… sorry. I want to remember everything, really."

Without thinking, Ash stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Serena, pulling her close. He could feel her body shake as she cried, her tears soaking into his shirt, but he didn't care. Somehow, this felt right, even if the memories weren't there to guide him. He just wanted to give her whatever comfort he could, hoping that he could ease her pain.

Pikachu looked up at them, his ears drooping, and let out a soft, sad "Pika…" His small paw gently touched Ash's leg as if trying to bridge the gap between them. Ash glanced down, noticing the Pokémon's sorrow and feeling another pang of guilt for not remembering the bond they shared.

"So… you're my first Pokémon, huh?" Ash murmured, crouching down slightly to meet Pikachu's gaze. Pikachu nodded, his expression filled with warmth, but there was a hint of sadness lingering in his eyes.

Serena sniffled, pulling herself together just enough to reach into her bag. She held out a Pokéball, offering it to Ash. "This is Pikachu's Pokéball," she said softly, her voice still thick with emotion. "You've had it ever since you caught him, but… well, he prefers staying out."

Ash took the Pokéball carefully, studying it as if it held a key to the memories he was missing. He turned it over in his hand, sighing. It felt familiar in a way he couldn't explain, but no memories came. He let out a slow breath, feeling a mixture of gratitude and frustration.

"Thank you," he whispered, his voice barely audible as he looked from the Pokéball back to Serena and Pikachu. He gave Pikachu a small smile, determined to rediscover the bond they shared. He didn't know who he'd been or what they'd all gone through, but deep down, he felt the pull to find himself again—for them.

Serena pulled back slightly, wiping her tears and steadying herself. "Ash… what are you going to do now?"

Ash looked down at the Pokéball in his hand, his gaze distant. "I think… I need to travel this region. Maybe if I see more places, I'll remember something." He glanced back at Serena, managing a small, grateful smile. "But I could really use some help… I'm glad you're here."

Serena's face lit up with determination. "Then I'll come with you," she said firmly. "I've come this far, and I'll help you remember everything, one step at a time."

Ash's shoulders relaxed, a warmth filling him at the thought of not facing this alone. "Thank you, Serena," he replied softly. With Pikachu at his side and Serena beside him, he felt a renewed sense of purpose.

As they turned to leave Germanium Village, a sudden cry pierced the air. They paused, exchanging a concerned look, and immediately rushed toward the sound, weaving through a grove of trees. The cry grew louder, leading them to a clearing at the edge of the forest.

There, hovering in the light filtering through the branches, was a small, mythical Pokémon with shimmering green and pink hues—a Celebi. It floated in front of them, its large eyes blinking with curiosity as it regarded Ash and Serena, an air of mystery surrounding it.

Ash stared in awe as Celebi floated before him, its gaze locked onto his as if it recognized him from a distant memory he could no longer access. He felt a strange tug, a familiarity that he couldn't place. Before he could say anything, a voice echoed in his mind, gentle but clear.

"Ash… I owe you a great debt," Celebi spoke through telepathy, its voice resonating with an otherworldly wisdom. "I've come here on behalf of Arceus, to seek your help."

Ash blinked, startled by the revelation. "You know me?" he asked aloud, glancing at Serena, who looked equally stunned.

Celebi's expression softened. "Yes. Long ago, you helped me in a time of great need. Now, I have come to return the favor. But my presence here is not just about gratitude. It's about a mission—one that Arceus has entrusted to you."

Serena leaned closer to Ash, her eyes wide with curiosity and concern. "Ash, this sounds serious. What mission are they talking about?"

Ash nodded, sharing her confusion. "What do you mean, Celebi?" he asked. "What mission?"

Celebi hovered closer, its gaze shifting from Ash to Serena. "The Kiraki region, though beautiful, is plagued with a deep-rooted problem. The people here are not as kind as they seem, especially those who lead the Pokémon League. Corruption runs deep within its ranks, and they exploit Pokémon for their own purposes."

Ash's brows knitted together in worry. "What… what kind of problems are we talking about?"

"Only you can solve this," Celebi replied firmly. "You are Arceus' Chosen One. Only with your intervention can the region's corruption be uprooted. You alone have the power to bring peace and justice back to this land."

Ash exchanged a glance with Serena, his eyes a mixture of determination and doubt. "But… I don't remember who I am. How am I supposed to do this?"

Serena reached out, placing a reassuring hand on his arm. "Ash, you've always been someone who stands up for others. Even if you don't remember everything, I believe in you. You can do this."

Celebi's gaze softened as it watched their exchange. "This journey will help you rediscover yourself, Ash. But there is one condition."

Ash's expression shifted to one of cautious curiosity. "What condition?"

Celebi's voice grew solemn. "To challenge the Kiraki League, you may only use one type of Pokémon—Light type. Your task is to become a Light-Type Master, bringing light into the shadows of this region. Only then will you be able to make a difference."

Serena tilted her head, puzzled. "Celebi… what's a Light type?"

Celebi's telepathic voice answered, calm and clear. "Light is a newly discovered type, unique to certain Pokémon. It's super effective against Ghost, Water, and Dark types, but less effective against Grass and Fire. In terms of defense, Light-types take reduced damage from Water and Ice moves, but they're vulnerable to Dragon and Dark attacks. Fire moves, however, won't affect them at all."

Ash looked down at Photowyrm's Pokéball in his hand, realizing his new partner was one of these Light-types. His excitement dimmed slightly as he glanced over at Pikachu, his long-time friend and partner. "So… if I can only use Light-types in the League, that means I can't use Pikachu in those battles?"

Serena gave his arm a comforting squeeze. "Don't worry, Ash. Pikachu has always been by your side, and that won't change just because of this League."

Celebi floated closer, its gaze softening. "You can still use Pikachu on your journey, for training, and for gym battles. Only the League itself requires that you rely solely on Light-types."

Ash exhaled a sigh of relief, grateful he wouldn't have to part from Pikachu completely. "Alright, I understand," he said, nodding.

Celebi's aura seemed to shimmer as it floated toward him, holding out a small, glistening red Pokéball with golden accents—a Cherish Ball. "Take this," Celebi instructed. "If you are to carry out this mission, I will be by your side."

Ash took the Cherish Ball, his fingers brushing against its smooth surface, a sense of honor filling him as he looked at Celebi. Without further hesitation, Celebi tapped the ball, disappearing inside with a soft glow. Ash felt a surge of warmth from the ball in his hand, knowing Celebi's strength and guidance would be with him.

Serena smiled, a glimmer of hope in her eyes as she looked at Ash. "Looks like you're not alone in this, Ash. We'll figure things out together."

Ash nodded, his resolve hardening. With Serena, Pikachu, and now Celebi by his side, he felt ready to face the challenges of Kiraki—even if he couldn't remember why.

Here is a second chapter, and you can see that Ash has met up with Serena and Pikachu, but he couldn't remember anything. And besides Pikachu and Legendaries, he will be used mostly Light-type Pokemon. I hope you like this chapter.
