A/N: Only edited this chapter to put in writing my persistent thoughts on writing another fic. It'll be equally as low effort like this, but I can't quite get the idea out of my head. Similar to the start of this, it'll start in a small room-like dimension, except this time they'd stay there. The plot would be that Gods are chosen randomly, and those Gods can recruit beings of older worlds to develop a small dimension into an entire universe as they please. Stupid concept? Maybe. But, it sounds fun to me. The plot would be strictly heavy smut, fluff, and world-building. It would be probably the same length as this is turning out to be. I'd compose a system to help with world development. There wouldn't be much fighting, there's nothing to fight. Well, maybe during the recruitment process? Anyway, the fact that I'm writing so much means it's basically a done deal. I still have 50k words in my unedited drafts of this fic, which is probably the same as what I've edited so far. That means like 25-30 more chaps of this with just that. A chap a day makes it a month give or take for me to write for this other fic. I'll likely still write for this fic though, I'm not bored of it. Anyway, happy reads, not much will change on your end, just wanted to express my thoughts!
"Haha! Valper has not grown senile I see, he was really telling the truth!" The lanky pale man with long black hair cackled as he floated above us. His ten dark wings flapped behind him.
He was Kokabiel, a man who had supposedly survived a fight against God and the Great Devil Kings.
"I steal three of the six holy swords from the Chruch and they send these disappointments." He looked down at the two who he had been sitting on his throne and lording over prior. Irina was on the ground, her shirt ripped, and her breasts exposed.
Xenovia still stood, though barely. Her sword was dug in the ground and she used it to support herself when her shaky legs threatened to give way. She looks determined to protect her friend, even at the cost of her life.
"But, now. OH NOW! The Great Devil's sister herself has come! And not only that but the Agares and Phenex line as well?!" He cackled, voice booming. "Yes! YES! You will surely be a much better incentive!"
"Incentive?" Rias frowned. "For what?"
He grinned, eyes glowing red as he chuckled once more. "What else? The Satans, of course, I'm sure they'll scurry here soon. This place is nothing if not well protected."
Seek and Rias frowned, confusion setting in though it was the former who spoke first. "That's odd, if I didn't know any better I'd say you're looking to start another war."
His grin deepened, showing his sharpened teeth. "Typical of your clan, you are quick on the uptake."
"What?!" Ravel along with most of the others that actually understood went wide-eyed.
"You want a war? Why?" Rias was genuinely perplexed and definitely a little on edge.
"I want a proper ending, NOT THE LAME ASS EXCUSE I WAS GIVEN!" He roared, aura flooding out. "I want blood, I want to feel my enemies crushed in my hands! That joy was taken from me! And for what?! Take a look around!"
He pointed directly at us. "The once mighty devils have fallen so low that they need to replenish their population with humans, and the same goes for heaven as well! It's good that our enemies are near extinction! It means we were close to winning! SO WHY THE HELL DID WE STOP?!"
He grabbed at his head, his monologue continuing. "It needs to be rectified! All-out war, until only one race is left to rule over them all!"
"This cockadude guy is nuts," Aika said, shaking a little as she clung to my shirt. She was admittedly scared.
"You're a maniac," Rias replied, sounding calmer than I thought she would. "If you think we're just going play along then you've got another thing coming. We'll end you before my brother even arrives."
Something about her words was hilarious to the fallen. "BAHAHAH! Seriously! Did the war end so prematurely that you virgin brats don't know who I am?!"
"Whatever, give it your all! Entertain me for a while until you're left broken and battered when your dear old brother arrives." As he said that, a light shot from his throne and dug a hole in the ground. A circle appeared, and soon after fire erupted along with two massive three-headed dog-like creatures.
And it wasn't just that.
"YES! IT'S HERE!" Freed called from the place he had been standing until now, right at the base of where the golden light emerged. Valper was there too.
The crazed priest walked forward, a new, golden blade in his hands.
"No!" Xenovia, who was struggling to even move at the moment stumbled forward at the sight of the forged Excalibur.
"Oh yes!" Freed mocked, holding up the blade. "Tell that pig-tail chick I said thanks for her contribution when you both get to the afterlife!" He cackled and only then did Kokabiel seem to look back at the two exorcists.
"I forgot about you two, too bad. Playtime is over for the both of you, you're not enough for Michael to come." He shrugged, a giant spear of light appearing in his hand.
Xenovia's eyes went wide, the golden spear drawing closer and closer to her as the miliseconds passed. She pulled at her sword, but was otherwise to weak to remove it from the ground.
I acted, in but a split second I grabbed the two girls and threw them over my shoulder and then moved back out of harms way.
"Oh?" Kokabiel raised a brow. "Now wasn't that something."
I didn't bother responding. Instead, I looked to Akeno. She nodded, a wide grin forming.
"Ara~ Okay dear." She acknowledged my unspoken message and stepped forward. The two Cerberus snarled at her as she did so, locking her down as their first snack.
"Issei."
"Koneko."
At the same time, the two other kings called their servants for battle, sending them right to the three-headed beast.
"Asia," I called to the blonde, plopping Irina down on the floor in front of her. "Please heal her."
"Yes!" Asia got right to work as I did the same with Xenovia, not wanting to expend too much energy.
"A-Akito?" The girl in my arms said as her hazy vision returned to normal when I flooded her with energy and healed all her wounds. Her eyes immediately looked all around.
"Irina will be fine, she's being healed." I eased her worries and gently placed her on the ground.
"A fallen angel? And you actually allowed yourself to be reincarnated?! Pathetic!" Kokabiel scoffed as Akeno revealed her wings.
Rias was shocked, her eyes widening as her gaze immediately locked onto me. I smirked, winking in a knowing manner.
"Fufu~ let's see if you can keep saying that?" From nowhere, power surged from her. It grew and grew and grew. It coalesced all around her and her eyes began to glow violet.
She outstretched a hand, a magic circle appearing in the air, and sparks of blue and yellow came forth, charging before in an instant it struck.
BOOM!
The explosion was massive, all centered around Kokabiel himself.
"I-it's so much~." Akeno moaned, squirming at her power boost. I had just realized it, but the wings on her back had grown to six.
"This power! I see, you are Baraqiel's child are you not?!" Kokabiel flew from the smoke, revealing himself to be slightly charred but otherwise unaffected.
"I am, and what of it." She snarled, fully prepared to use the power I gave her down to the final drop.
"I'm shocked, you should join me, I have no idea how someone as strong as you ended up amongst this lot, but your power will be welcomed."
"Ara~, I'm strong hmm? Then why don't you feel it more first hand!" Her eyes narrowed and this time two circles appeared.
"Don't get cocky!" Kokabiel shouted, immediately beginning to form barriers just as the lightning struck.
From both sides, multiple barriers were pierced all at once. On the last one, he reinforced it with his own magic. The lightning struck and kept pouring down but he held it strong.
"That just won't do," Akeno smirked, flooding more and more of the energy into the attack.
Kokabiel's eyes went wide teeth gritted as he was unprepared for the sudden rapid increase in power.
His barrier broke and shot down upon him. Luckily for him, he moved right before and the lightning ripped through his robe before crashing down on one of the Cerberus, nearly hitting Issei as a consequence.
The Cerberus couldn't even cry out, instead, it died instantly as the lightning shot straight through and dug out the ground as well a dozen feet.
"Enough of this!" Kokabiel scoffed, a light spear forming in mid-air aimed at Akeno. She made to move, but the spear was on her in an instant. By reflex, with us behind her, she created a barrier and braced for the impact.
It held for a while, but similar to Akeno's attack it broke through eventually. I outstretched a hand, magic power fueling my skill as a barrier appeared to intercept the incoming spear.
It stopped it in its tracks, and despite the power clashing against the magical construct, I had the leeway to turn to Akeno.
"You can't win just one on one, instead use all of the remaining energy all at once," I commanded.
She nodded, this time around her power manifesting in her palms instead. It was still of the Holy Lightning type, from what I could feel, but the form it was going to take was entirely different from what I could see.
"Ha ha." She panted, sweating as she put everything she had into this one sphere of light. It glowed purple and then…
Zip
It was on Kokabiel in an instant. A barrier sparked to life but was just as quickly pierced.
There was a soft hum to the sphere as it broke through all his defenses and then struck the man right in the sternum.
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
It exploded right at the source. Kokabiel was blown from the sky, and thankfully that's where he was, because if he were on the ground there would've been more than just the shockwave that knocked everyone to their ass.
Akeno staggered on her feet. I supported her, my arm catching her from the back. She looked at me, a silly grin on her face.
"Ufu~ Dear, I came." She giggled.
"Damn! You really knocked the boss on his ass huh?!" Freed spoke up having watched events play out.
"Tch!" Xenovia scoweled. "My fight is still not over!" She looked around, her sword nowhere to be found.
"Oh? How lame, I really wanted to test out this sweet thing against your puny blade." Freed mocked, taking the hostility she directed with a grain of salt.
Xenovia ignored him and turned to me. "Akito, I'm truly having a hard time believing you are a devil… but, I will repay this debt." I caught the faint blush before she turned around, face hardened as she looked at Freed.
She chanted something, ending with the line "In the name of the saint living in this blade, I set you free." A portal appeared and from it a chained sword emerged, it was blue with golden highlights. The chains dispersed leaving her to wield it.
"With this." She proclaimed. "I'll show you the might of a true holy sword!" She charged Freed, the sword glowing at her will.
"Bullshit!" He met back, his sword similarly glowing as they prepared to meet.
Meanwhile, in the distance, I smiled as I watched Kiba stand unobstructed in front of Valper.
I'm not too sure what the hell was happening, but apparitions appeared all around him sourcing from a blue gem in his hand.
He was crying and then the souls began pouring into him. I would've thought he was being possessed if he hadn't stood all the stronger right after.
He glowed with blue light, and from his gear a new sword emerged, one I could feel had both demonic power and light properties. A natural contradiction.
Then, that same blade was on Valper, stabbing the man in the heart. Kiba stood over him, watching as the man went wide-eyed, and desperately tried to pull the blade out.
When that was over, the blade disappeared, leaving just the man's corpse. Kiba fell to his knees, sobbing on the ground.
Good for him.
At full energy, Freed was very quickly overpowered, a fatal blow soon being dealt that left him not so chatty as he fell to the floor.
And then, the last Cerberus also fell, multiple indents on its side caused by Koneko's powerful fist. Its insides were ruptured and blood spilled from its mouth.
I would've said it was over if I hadn't known any better.
"AHAHAHAHA! Truly this is the most fun I've had in DECADES!" Kokabiel emerged once more. His shirt was gone to reveal his healing wound.
"Good, I thought my mission had been completely overtaken." Xenovia aimed her blade at the man now.
"Kokabiel! For your crimes not only against the Church but against God himself, you will meet your end at the mercy of this blade!" She stepped forth, blade at the ready.
"My crimes, HAH! That just shows how ignorant you are, fighting for a man who doesn't even exist anymore." Kokabiel scoffed.
"What? What exactly is that supposed to mean?!" Xenovia shouted.
It wasn't just her, everyone looked on in profound curiosity, even I.
"You heard me, God is gone, he was killed in the previous three-way war along with the Great Devil Kings!" He laughed, watching as Xenovia's expression turned to shock.
"G-God is dead…" Her eyes lost focus and she fell to her knees.
"Oops, maybe should have kept that a secret, heaven will have fewer combatants if their God-fearing humans all leave." He laughed again though it went unheard by the vast majority of us.
Seriously, like The Big G. Dead?
"How is that possible?!" Rias exclaimed, "I've never heard of such a thing!"
"I-It can't be." Asia was similarly on her knees.
"Hahahah! Oh, but it is! Tell me, do you truly think Heaven would be as weak as it is if he was still alive?!" His words added all the more truth. Suddenly it made a lot of sense. "You can thank Michael for managing to hold things together, but, he is nothing like actual God."
"So our faith. All of our prayers!" Xenovia shouted.
"Well, I'm sure someone is hearing them, but not who you thought." Kokabiel shrugged.
I turned to Rias, she sighed and pressed her lips together. "Alright," I spoke. "Things have gone on long enough, it's time we end this."
