By the time Althea reaches the planters she's been walking all night like she's some oddish and her feet are cracked and dry. She climbs onto the flowers and then bends her roots around and through their roots, but only to find powdery dirt. Ugh! But the plants here must get water to still look so plump and glossy, so she follows their uncomfortably smooth, fungiless roots down to find on the very bottom is a rubbery wet tube slowly oozing spicy water. Nice! She won't be able to get any sun while she's hunkered down here for the day, and the air is disgustingly dry, but at least she can drink her fill.

She was planning to show her amazing self-restraint during the day by staying hidden and not trying to grab any bugs for a snack, but the sun rises and sets without her having the chance. Human cities truly are strange places.

The night comes, and with it the supplementary moons the humans make so they can see enough to keep walking around. It's so boring to have to wait day and night, but she knows her plan is worth it. Work smarter not harder. And smart means holding very still under the flowers and leaves and waiting until she's sure no one can see here because humans hate pokemon in their cities walking around on their own.

At last, the building goes dark and what she assumes are the last of the humans have left. She climbs down from the planter and sidles around the place. Even this late, she's not sure there'll be no more humans coming by the big front pathway, but she's seen very few humans go to either side of the building all day, so by now there should be none at all.

There's a big metal door against the back wall. She churns up the acid inside her mouth and spits right into the center of the doorknob. It hisses. She pushes, but that doesn't work, so she gets a leaf under the bottom and pulls. The door swings open so easily for something that would be too heavy for her to ever move on its own.

There's things on the shelves here, but grabbing any of that would be like scooping up rocks to eat at a feast. No no, she can see the glass cabinet behind the counter and all the wonderful things inside.

Althea saw this before, the one time she was caught. The human said it was "expensive", "for cool rare powerful pokemon", and she was "a lazy stupid disobedient trashmon".

Another mouthful of acid melts the lock off, and she grabs her first rare candy and washes it down with a protein drink. Work smarter not harder! Who wants to spend all your time getting beat up just so you look good enough another human catches you and makes you get beat up more and more, and then even if you turn into a weepinbell after all that hard work you might just get told you don't deserve to be a victreebel? Nope! She's powering right to the top right now and with none of the million downsides!

When she's stuffed so to the brim she thinks even her drool could probably win a fight with someone, she waddles over to the elevator, because the cabinet with evolution stones is higher up, and she is not bothering with three flights of stairs when she doesn't have to.

Blue: A carnivorous POKéMON that traps and eats bugs. It uses its root feet to soak up needed moisture.
Stadium 1: A kind of bug-eating plant that hunts small insects. It uses its roots as feet for walking.
Ruby/Sapphire: BELLSPROUT's thin and flexible body lets it bend and sway to avoid any attack, however strong it may be. From its mouth, this POKÉMON spits a corrosive fluid that melts even iron.
