It's a beautiful day outside– birds are singing, flowers are blooming. On days like these, it's the best time to get married.
A bride sits in a well-lit dressing room, braiding her teal hair with cerulean flowers. Brushing off the leftover petals on her dress, she stands up from her chair to look over her appearance in the mirror. The dress radiates elegance and is comfortable around her waist. Baby blue laced, ruffled fabric flowed down from the bride's legs as she adjusted her matching gloves that reached her upper arms.
She slowly inhales and exhales, then slapping her face lightly. The longer she stared at herself, the more her legs continued to shake. Exasperated, she sits back down in her chair, sighing harshly.
A hollow knock at the door causes her to flinch, then she calls out a high pitched, "Come in!" to whoever knocked. In comes Sans Undertale, the bride's future father-in-law, his mouth fixed in a permanent smile. He was shorter than the bride, wearing his usual blue jacket and shorts but with a bow-tie for the occasion.
"Yo Miku, kid, how're you feeling?" Sans says as he walks towards her.
Miku turns back to the mirror and sighs, fidgeting with the fabric on her dress "I'm just nervous, that's all…"
Sans pats Miku on the back, "Y'know kid, I'm surprised you and my kid lasted so long— usually she goes killing her boyfriends and girlfriends, but she seemed a bit different with you."
"I guess but… aren't some of Vriska's ex-boyfriends and girlfriends in the wedding hall right now?"
"Yeah, don't worry 'bout it," He says mischievously, "But anyways, what's the status on your best woman, lady girl?"
"Is Rin not here?"
"Nah, doesn't look like she's coming. You wanna do something about that?"
"Uhh… I guess I can have Luka there instead…" Miku looks down at her heels in disappointment.
"Alright kiddo, just watch out for cat girls today, here have a cat-dog for goodluck," Sans hands Miku the mysterious bunned meat and before Miku could decline, Sans was already gone.
Miku rarely eats before a show, let alone her own marriage ceremony, but she might as well accept the gift her father-in-law gave her.
It smelled rather smokey and tasted… interesting… with lots of ketchup on it… Miku gulps it down and heads over to the wedding hall.
—
The wedding hall was a white room adorned with teal and cerulean flowers on the walls and as garlands on the windows and doors, and the carpet leading to the end of the hall was blue. A small child in a suit named Frisk (who Miku assumed was also Sans's kid) threw light blue petals on the ground. The windows were custom stained glass portraits of some of Vriska's human friends in their God-Tier forms— it was common on Earth C to have such acknowledgement to their creators, even if they're quite young to be rulers. Among the "gods" include the Heir of Breath, Witch of Space, Knight of Time, and the Seer of Light on one side. The other side depicted the Maid of Life, Rogue of Void, Page of Hope, and the Prince of Heart.
Miku saw all of her Vocaloid friends sitting at her side of the wedding hall, except for Rin. On Vriska's side, most were gray trolls who looked shocked as soon as she entered— Miku only met the one whose blood was a darker shade of teal and a human friend. Vriska stood at the other end of the hall wearing a suit with a cerulean tie, a teal flower in the breast pocket, and a pin of her symbol (scorpio but trolls don't believe in zodiacs in that way). Standing next to Vriska was supposed to be their ordained minister but he appears to be a 10 foot tall bear animatronic who was singing the usual wedding song but in a series of "Hars."
As soon as Vriska laid eyes on Miku, a small awkward smile formed on her face and Miku swears she could see tiny "33333333" forming near her head.
After Sans walked Miku down the hall, he sat next to his husband, Nagito Komeda, in the front row. The ceremony went by in a blur through Freddy Fazbear's, their ordained minister, seemingly broken speech patterns until it was time to say their vows.
"Vriska…" Miku started, "A lot has happened since you and your friends created the new universe. Since I am a universal concept, it was not rare for me to naturally appear in a new universe, but it was rare for me to meet someone like you. You were the first troll I met in the new world, and you gladly showed me around Can Town and all the new cities developed on Earth C. While I still don't understand troll romance that well, I remember you said we are a 'flushed' one when you asked me out. Anyways, from what I've heard, you changed a lot after we met and I'm glad for that. So… what I'm trying to say is that I'm glad I'm going to be your wife," Miku ended her short speech with a gentle smile, glad to confess these feelings and basking in the awestruck expression of her future wife.
"Damn Miku… I was just going to say a backstreet boys quote so we could get out of here faster but your shtick was pretty good…" Vriska's gray face faded into a shade of blue as she blushed.
Miku giggled and asked, "What was the quote you were going to say?"
Vriska firmly grasped Miku's hands and said, "You are my fire, my one desire ;;;;)." Shoujo anime sparkles basically bounced off her when she said that, but the silence in the room was deafening.
"Vriska…"
"Aww man, you don't like it? Thought it was a perfect quote since you liked music…" Vriska frowned, doing her best puppy eyes— the eye with eight pupils wobbling strangely.
"I know, and I love that you tried," Miku said as she squeezed Vriska's hand for a second.
"Har har… are the… vows finished," Freddy Fazbear interrupted and Miku quickly nodded. "Then to whoever opposes this marriage… speak now or forever hold your peace… har har."
The crowd remained silent for a few seconds, but as Freddy Fazbear was about to allow Miku and Vriska to kiss, a cat girl from the crowd cried out:
"Nyaaaaaa!!! I don't like this!!!"
Everyone turned to look at the girl— she was waving her arms around in distress, her bulbous breasts bouncing in the same rhythm. The girl was about the same height as Vriska with short green hair, gray cat ears, blue shirt, and pink skirt. In Miku's honest opinion, she was utterly confused seeing the girl's early 2000s anime visual novel design that was poorly traced in MSPaint.
"Vriska, who is that?" Miku worriedly asked.
"Some ex who won't leave me alone— what are you doing here Raku-chan?!" Vriska turned her attention to the cat girl, only her right hand is holding Miku's now.
"Vriska-san! Why did you cheat on me with her, nyaaaaa? W-w-was Raku-chan not good enough, nya??" Raku-chan, the cat girl, called out.
Defensively, Vriska stepped forward, pulling Miku along with her, "You were all over that 'Hitoshi-san' boy when you had rabies, why do you want to come back now!?"
Miku couldn't believe it— Vriska had only mentioned the trolls she dated during the Sgrub and Sburb sessions, but not a cat girl.
"Vriska… What are you hiding? Why haven't you told me about her before?" Miku called the spider girl's attention back to her, the other's head turning quickly back to the woman she was supposed to be marrying.
"Raku-chan is not important babe… just a quick fling—"
"NYAA WHY ARE YOU LYING NYAA?! Hitoshi-san only helped Raku-chan get better when she had rabies! You left as soon as I almost died, nya! Look!" Raku-chan squealed in her high-pitched voice, the sound shattering a near-by blue stained glass window depicting the Heir of Breath. From between the balloons on her chest, she pulls out various photos and throws them at Miku and Vriska's feet. Each image displayed proof of Vriska and Raku's relationship. One photo displayed them kissing, Raku-chan's face the reddest it's ever been— another displayed Vriska in her orange God-Tier outfit carrying Raku-chan while flying through the clouds. Miku turned away from the scene and pulled her hands away from Vriska's grasp.
Vriska's face went dark at the sight of these photos, "What the hell Raku-chan… why did you have to ruin my special day for this stupid nonsense…"
"Nyaaaaa you are a cheater, Vriska-san! You two-timed Miku and Raku-chan, nya! Everyone has to know, nyaaaaaa—" Raku-chan was forcibly removed from the wedding hall after another window (one depicting the Rogue of Void) was broken from her squealing but the damage to Miku's heart was unfixable.
"Vriska… how could you do that to that poor girl… maybe you haven't changed at all…"
"Miku—!" Vriska snapped out of her trance and gently placed her hands on Miku's face, "I—"
"I know you're not going to say sorry, Vriska, it's virtually impossible for you," Miku pushes Vriska off of her, "You weren't honest about this at all… and…" before Miku could complete her sentence, tears began welling up in her eyes. Quickly, she pulled up her dress and ran out the hall.
That was the fastest she has ever gone in heels.
—
Miku ran and ran and ran, tears streaming down her face and her braided hair slowly coming undone as she ran farther and farther away from the place. If anyone was trying to look for her, they could easily follow the cerulean flowers that fell from her hair.
She didn't know where she was running to but as soon as she stopped to catch her breath, she found herself in front of the house of her best friend: Kagamine Rin, the girl who was supposed to be her bridesmaid today but never came. Miku slowly approached the door, her feet finally feeling the effects of the distance she ran. She knocked on the door but after waiting for a few seconds no one answered. She knocked again and this time hearing footsteps hurry towards the door.
A tired, yellow haired girl opened the door, immediately going into scolding, "Len, did you forget your keys again? Jeez, just call me when you do next time I am way too tired for this—"
"Uhm, Rin?" Miku croaked out. Hearing the other girl's voice, Rin realized that she was not talking to her twin. She looked up and down Miku's current appearance— her hair was disheveled and flowers were falling out of place. Her face was moist with sweat and tears, makeup streaking down. Luckily, her dress wasn't damaged.
"Oh… Miku…" Rin gave Miku a sympathetic look, "Uh, come inside— careful though, there's a bit of a mess in here…"
—
Miku removed her heels and her dress, placing her outfit neatly on the arm of the Kagamine's couch and the heels on the floor. Now only wearing a tanktop and a pair of shorts, she laid down face first and wallowed in her sadness.
"Miku…" Rin sat down on the edge of the couch and began unbraiding the sad girl's hair, "I'm really sorry I didn't come to your wedding, but what happened? Did Vriska do something?"
Miku mumbled, her voice muffled through the couch, "Vriska is a cheater… cheated on some cat girl…"
Rin continued to comb through Miku's hair, placing the flowers on the coffee table nearby. "Vriska was strange… she kinda creeped me out with her spider girl thing…"
Miku gave a short hum of acknowledgment then asked, "Why didn't you come to my wedding?"
Rin began combing faster, "That's not important… As I said, I'm really sorry."
"But why?!" Miku sat herself up to face Rin, her hair falling out of the other's rhythm, "You're my best friend, you can tell me anything! Len was there too but he didn't mention anything about your absence at all! Did I—"
"Miku!" Rin stood up, towering over Miku, "You didn't do anything wrong, okay! I was just…" her voice falters, turning away, "… jealous…"
"Rin… are you saying…?" Miku's eyes widened and Rin sat on the floor, curling herself into a ball.
"I'm really sorry Miku, I just couldn't face you at the wedding if I saw you marrying that girl," Rin's voice was cracking and from Miku's view she could see tears threatening to fall out.
They sat in silence for a moment, Miku soaking in the words her best friend said. That wasn't exactly best friend behavior to say something like that, right? Miku could now see Rin shaking from where she sat.
"Rin…" Miku went down to Rin's level and hugged her from the side, "You know, I wouldn't care what our relationship was as long as you stayed by my side…"
Rin turned to Miku, "But what about Vriska?"
"If she doesn't apologize soon I'll break up with her… I guess I'm sorry that I didn't notice your affections before and started to be with Vriska more…"
Rin giggled and wiped the tears out of her eyes, "It's fine, I'm sure you thought it was some best friend behavior or whatever. You were like that with Vriska too, it was annoying."
"Really?" Miku's face heated up, "She was just impressive back then! But now… not so much…"
"Mm yeah… but are you sure you want to stay with me? I was acting too selfish and all and I don't know…"
"Yeah, best friend or whatever, I love you Rin!"
Rin brought Miku into a proper hug, allowing to let herself cry properly now, and Miku allowed her own tears to fall onto Rin's hoodie.
Miku figured that next time, she should read an 8000 page webcomic and optional continuations before befriending another troll.
