Chapter 10, Somewhere in Another Freakoff, My School Arc Begins Once More
In a familiar yet distant place, I stood in front of a gigantic white orb. Rows of benches you'd see in a church line up before the orb. A long red carpet splits the benches into two. Those who have played this one game in particular know that this is the only way to level up by using soul essence.
Unsurprisingly, the game only had two ways of obtaining soul essence, absorbing them off of enemy encounters or quests. As of right now, I only have one way of leveling up since the starter quest given to me by the moon people is semi-impossible.
"You seek the light, child?" Aretim, the servant of Raphion, asked me in a gentle voice.
Even if it's all in my head, they made it look pretty realistic. I know that I can't exactly level up since I don't have any soul essence, but we can make it work.
The power of the human imagination. It truly is a wonderful thing.
If you just believe in yourself hard enough, one could survive from falling from a three-story building or fight at full power even if you've lost twenty liters of blood. A certain narrator taught me this.

Other than my endurance, aren't my stats actually just trash? How is my luck even a 0? That's physically impossible. I should raise that stat when I can.
Usually, for endgame players, they would have enough soul points to just invest into strength to easily clear through the mobs in the earlygame. I don't have the luxury for that though. So I put my stats into the most useful area for noobs.

According to most touhou fanon, a cabin outside the bamboo forest usually belongs to Mokou… Or was it inside the forest? Pfft idk, retcon.

In your pocket should be a lighter. Throw some firewood together, douse it with a bit of lighter fluid and burn. Why was she oddly serious about this? Her playful tone from earlier has completely disappeared..
Picking up some firewood, I toss it in front of the house and open the lighter. That should be enough.

Like a machine, my body automatically entered a fighting stance, both hands were clenched while the right was a little higher than the left.
Three fairies suddenly appear behind me. A green one immediately shot a small green bolt of wind.

It was a bit too late for me to dodge so I ended up blocking it instead. The most I felt from that was a slight sting, good thing I invested in endurance!
Now it was the water fairy's turn. I say she's a water fairy because she's blue.

The yellow fairy holding a sun flower decides to charge up her beam attack.

Long before time had a name, the idea of firegrass has long since been ingrained into our feeble minds.
Fwash! The grass fairy combusts as the uppercut that came after the sudden forcefeeding causes her to bite onto the lighter.
In turn based combat, that attack should be the last I can do, but what if God said.?
Grabbing the grass fairy's unburnt legs, I tossed her onto the firewood. The result was an all-encompassing blaze and a newly gained weapon.

A particularly long stick that is still burning from the aftermath.

The slow moving water bubble was easily dodged, and the wind blew it back towards the attacker. She seemed to be having trouble breathing, only to remember she was a water
Now it was time for the sun fairy's turn. The sunflower in her hands glowed brightly like the sun. How else do you describe sun based attacks?

Gleam! The blinding lights hurt my eyes more than it hurt the rest of my body. There was no way to dodge it so I had to block.

As I rubbed my eyes, I noticed the sunflower fairy weakly recharging her energy. The "spear" in my hands looked like it would stop burning soon so I had to act fast.
The sensation of piercing flesh wasn't present. Fairies were just beings made of pure mana so that much was obvious.

I'm not exactly confident in my navigation skills. I'd say they were average at best. But going around a tree and ending up on the other side of the map doesn't exactly seem plausible.

This must be the human village. The walls kinda give it away.

Just to be clear, this isn't a system. It's a microchip implanted in my brain showing me a panel only I can see. That doesn't sound like a system at all. Also I'm pretty sure it's Kaguya sending me these panels.
A guard blocks my way into the gate. Like a normal person, I hypnotize myself into thinking.

Walking down the village, I notice a particularly large building. Matter of fact, I notice two.

One of the buildings I was looking at was the Golden Grin. No way in hell it isn't. The other is probably the school Keine works at. No one really told me they made it four stories tall…
Since the school is closer by a few blocks, I decided to go there first.
"Huff.. Huff.. I'm gonna be late!"
Whoosh! Suddenly, someone stops next to me with a piece of bread in their mouth.
"Hmm.."
A girl with long pink hair and an aura that just screams "Female Lead", running late to school…
"I can't believe I'll be late for school! After all, this is That Time I got Transmigrated Into My Favorite Videogame As The Female Lead, But I Have A Heart Virus!" All in one breath.
So it's an incident…
The girl then looks at me for some reason. "Are you also going to Joaquin Academy?"

Wait, this could be my chance to shine.

She seems to believe my hastily made up lie. "Really? They never put that in the newest patch notes… Did the game update after I died?" You'd think she would wanna hide the fact she's a transmigrator. Is this reverse psychology?

I guess she's just a bit dumb.

Then it began to rain.

With just this moment to myself, I get to think some more. Why are so many game elements fusing together in one place?

Like that, he spewed more thoughtless compliments to the hazy minded Keine Kamishirasawa for a couple more minutes.
"But of course, you wouldn't have been able to do it without your greatest aide, Your's truly." His words were as convincing as always.
