Miss me?
Percy Jackson coughed hard before falling back onto the pillow. He had faced monsters, gods and new relatives over the last two years with the power to heal by soaking in water. Only to fall sick and discover that water did not help him with getting better. Redden eyes glared at the ceiling towards the empire state building where he was sure the sun god was partying.
'To think before I discovered I was a demigod I be cursing God.' Percy cracked a smile at the thought. It faded with the pain and a sudden fear at the memory of his first day of camp. Chiron had said that the gods were real, Percy had met them that summer and experienced the attention of a titan, but refused to say if the capital G God was real. Then again, would anyone think of the gods of Greek as gods if the capital G was real? Percy was unsure.
Thunder boomed making the son of the sea jump before rain began to pelt his window. Groaning Percy closed his eyes to try and tune out the noise. With the ringing in his head and the thunder going on outside his nerves were frying. Another boom made his window shake and Percy opened his eyes and glared hard at the sky.
"Stupid Zeus." A boom of thunder shook the apartment was the only answer to Percy's curse. Slowly getting up, the raven haired boy shuffled over to his desk. his body protested but he pushed onwards. Opening a drawer he took out a cassette tape and a recorder/player he had gotten a couple of years back. He and Naruto had made a song to get over the sound of thunder when his brother was four years old. Turning on the tape Percy laughed as his and Naruto's voices filled the room.
When you hear the sound of thunder
Don't you get too scared
Just grab your thunder buddy
And say these magic words
Fuck you thunder!
You can suck my d*ck
You can't get me thunder-
"PERCY JACKSON YOU STOP THAT THIS INSTANCE!" Percy shrunk into his bed as his mother walked in with a steaming bowl of soup, a look on her face that made him wish he was fighting Ares again. Almost. "I will soap your mouth if you sing that song again."
"But mom, I wasn't singing it." Percy groaned as his mother took the device from her son.
Sally Jackson shook her head and gently pushed her song back to relax on the bed. "I just don't like hearing it honey. It's crude and a little worrying how you and your brother copied Gabe's curses to make this... song."
"Sorry mama." Percy looked down only for his mother to tussle his hair.
"It's ok my sweet blue jelly bean." Percy laughed before his body shook with the sudden onset of a coughing fit. "Seems like you need soup. And don't worry I made sure to give a portion for you to your father and Apollo."
"Thanks." Taking the spoon Percy slowly took a sip. His mother was the best cook in his world, only the gods could cook better than her and the best part? She had made the soup blue.
"Blue is the color of the gods Naruto."
Sally Jackson turned from the doorway where she had been leaving. "You said something?"
"No mom." Percy took another sip. It was strange. Even if the soup was warm, Percy could almost swear he was getting colder. Thinking nothing of it he slowly ate chalking it to him not feeling good. His mother watched from the doorway, shadows covering her face. "When I get better think I can go to camp?"
"Camp? But I love having you here." His mother tone came out softly from her place in the doorway.
Percy nodded. "I love being with you too mom but..."
"Let me guess. After two summers at camp running around swinging your sword and learning to fight monsters you feel trapped. Even more so sick while your brother gets to go?"
Percy nodded, eyes flashing at remembering that his brother was at camp half-blood. "It's not fair."
Silence filled the air as his mother waited for him to go on. But Percy went back to sipping on the bowel of soup. Seeing he wasn't going to speak Sally hummed and pulled the door closed. Percy paid his mother no mind, focusing on eating his meal even as his body felt colder than before. A yawn slipped out of his lips as he found lifting the spoon harder with each sip. Feeling weak and sleepy Percy attempted to move the bowl to the side so he could sleep, only for it to tumble out of his hands as darkness swept over his eyes as he fell unconscious.
Behind the door Sally Jackson smirked as she heard the crash. Walking to the living room she looked at the teen standing over a bound woman in ice on the sofa. "He's finally out. To think that the son of the big three could be taken out with the aid of a simple cold in winter to dull his awareness. I must thank you for your help Luke. And you Ms. Jackson. To think your son's love could blind him to the fact that his mother wasn't her at all."
The woman screamed behind her ice gag making the teen roll his eyes. "It was a simple task to convince Apollo's daughter to seem to be offended before she cursed him. Knione."
'Sally Jackson' smiled as her form shivered and changed. A white dress and a lush mane of dark hair with unnaturally pale skin as the goddess of snow and ice. Running her finger through her hair she smiled at the two mortals before her.
"So what is the plan?" Luke growled as the goddess walked around the room touching different places as she looked more closely at the home of the Jackson family. She seemed not to be paying attention go the son of Hermes. Picking up a picture of a young Percy and Naruto the goddess smiled at it, only for it to freeze over and shatter.
"Frist of all." With a wave of her hand Luke found himself impaled to the apartment wall run though by a large ice spike. "Do know that I do this now out of necessity. You were very useful but without the leader of the Titans backing you, you are just an annoying demigod with daddy issues."
Luke gurgled as he tried to remove the spike from his body, his sword sent away from him do to the surprise attack. His hands kept sliding off the ice uselessly. Annoyed at his efforts Khione froze him solid before banishing him to a prearranged location to the north. No need for Hades and Thanos to get their hands on the boy who stole the helm and bolt. Looking over her shoulder she smiled at the moral woman who was shivering in terror.
"Now then Ms Jackson be glad that harming you isn't in the best interest of mine right now." The goddess leaned down to stare at the woman. "You see, I have a need for a new handmaiden and I think you will be perfect."
With her piece spoken Khione brought her left hand to her mouth before blowing on it. Several snowflakes swirled and moved towards Sally Jackson who tied to squirm away. It was useless as the flakes landed on her eyes. Khione grinned as an ice shine covered the mortal woman's eyes. Snapping her fingers the goddess relased the woman from her bonds and Sally arose from the sofa before she bowed to the goddess. "I live to serve you mistress Khione."
"Yes." Khione smile spilt across her face like breaking ice. "You do."
Turning around the goddess marched to Percy's room, her new servant following a respectful distance behind. Opening the door the goddess used her power to dress the son of the seas in more fitting clothes for the weather along with his mother. With a flick of her hand Percy's body got up like a puppet and opened up his eyes, iced over like his mother.
"To think that I have such interesting new play things." Khione said aloud as she had Percy stand next to his mother, who by now was kneeling. "With Apollo out of the way and no one knowing that you both are under my thrall, my mistress will reward me. "
"Of course mistress Khione." Sally/Percy said together from their spot. The goddess frowned at their dull tones before shrugging. She was sure after a few lessons and corrections this would be fixed. Snapping her fingers a fury of snow filled the room as the trio vanished. The only sound that filled the apartment was the sound of the picture of Percy and Naruto breaking, a crack splitting them apart and across Percy's eyes.
Kuruma shivered as his head snapped towards New York city where his host's mother and brother were. Something had happened but the fox could not think of an reason why. Lowering his head he watched the chaos that was Naruto, Nico and the Hermes twins as they planned what they had dubbed the greatest prank of all time. Why they wanted to do a prank that could make the camp fall into a full blown warzone was beyond him, but he was sure that the horseman would regret placing the son of Hades under the influence of the Hermes cabin.
"So during the game Naruto will sneak out of the woods to get the materials along with Nico here using Annabeth's cap." Connor pointed to a spot on the crude map as the four boys looked it over. "Chiron will notice you both missing so it would stand to reason that Nico will carry to the forest where Travis and I will be waiting while Naruto leads Chiron on a goose chase around the camp."
Naruto nodded. "I'll make sure that he gives up."
Travis slapped a hand on his forehead. "NO! You need to keep him from noticing what we will be doing. Just don't get caught out until the horn blows."
"But if Naruto is the distraction, who will blow the horn?" Nico asked. Connor groaned at the question.
"It's a magic horn tied to the boundary line between the two teams."
"How was I supposed to know? I just got here!"
Naruto pointed at the map. "Won't the Harpies be there working?"
Travis shook his head. "Nah, Mr. D often drags them away to the poker table when the hunters come or at least that is what the rumor is."
"Our source hasn't failed us yet." Connor smiled as he popped his neck. "Besides, the main problem is time. The hunters haven't lost a game in years do to their experience and speed. We're sure that the Athena cabin has a plan, but then again..."
"If the flag is prey then the hunters are likely in their element where as we are a group of cabins that don't work together." His brother finished. "So if the plan works it should throw off the hunters just enough to edge us a win."
Nico raised his hand. "So why aren't we telling the others?"
"Because we are ninja." Naruto said with a scarf wrapped around his face with his fingers together in some sort of pose. Nico grinned and grabbed a scarf and mirrored his friend.
"Aye sir!"
The twins shook their heads before joining in with the younger demigods. If you can't beat them, go weird.
I missed doing this work. I hope you all enjoyed and leave a review. Seriously, please do.
